The biggest mystery of all...and Reed is dying to learn the truth.

Two months after Cheyenne Martin was found dead in her Billings House dorm room, exclusive Easton Academy is rocked by another stunning revelation: Cheyenne was murdered. No one knows who the killer is, but everyone agrees that Reed Brennan, who took over Cheyenne's role as Billings's president, gained the most from her death. Once the most powerful girl on campus, Reed is now powerless to stop her classmates' accusing whispers. Rumors begin to swirl that she killed Cheyenne.

And just like that, Reed is kicked out of Billings.

She's lost everything -- her friends, her home, her boyfriend -- and Reed knows the only way to get it all back is to figure out who really murdered Cheyenne. And she has to do it fast because the killer is still out there. The more Reed investigates, the more she uncovers. And as any Billings Girl knows...secrets can be deadly.

Much as I love the Private series, I will admit that Reed tends to grate on my nerves after a short while. Thankfully once the girl seems to hit rock bottom, she finds she has a spine of her own, and she gets some Noelle worthy snaps.

Most of Revelation revolves around Reed trying to win her way back into Billings as well as her attempts to find out who really killed Cheyenne. I have spent every other book since Sabine appeared shrieking that there's something just not quite right about the girl and this time I spent, literally, the entire book willing Reed to realize that for whatever reason, Sabine was the killer and Reed's stalker as well. I just had no idea why she did it or her connection to the last friend who was secretly trying to break Reed.

The book is so good that once I let myself start it, I had to read straight on until my suspicions were proven correct. Score!

Now, if we could only convince Reed that she should call the cops when people break into her room, we might keep the body count down.

Oh wow! That ending. I shouldn't really be surprised given the last few cliff hanger endings but still...
As much as I still dislike Reed, I found this was probably one of my favourite instalments so far. I liked the mystery in this book and the fact that we were left guessing until the end. As much as virtually all the people in this book are horrible and Reed is a major Drama queen, I am actually having a lot of fun with this series. In fact I have already started on book 9...

through and through this series is a guilty pleasure of mine reminding me of my young high school days where i wished i went to a boarding school like this with such high level of academics and socialites, oh how times have changed. now all I ever want to do is travel and explore the world.
back to the book.........
this one was kind of depressing and i felt bad for reed, she has this stalker that keeps messing with her mind and the ending is predictable unfortunately, i still enjoyed this book however from what i remember the next one is my favourite one because of one person, upton giles

I think book was my favorite so far, even if it wasn't Reed's best time. I've gone through some things Reed has: the ostracizing, the humiliation, the pain. Yes, Reed did make a mistake at the Legacy, but it wasn't all her fault. She was set up and fell for it because of her vulnerability. After everything I've read, I'm not looking at Noelle to be the one who does Reed in, in the end. Although Noelle is bitchy and has this air about her, I think she grew to care for Reed in her mysterious yet creepy way. After everything that happened with Ariana the previous year, I don't think Noelle is taking chances. Yes she's mean, yes she does what she can to get what she wants, but I don't think she's capable of murder or anything too heinous (at least RIGHT NOW and in previous books). I think Noelle is a very strange person to understand her real motive or her real feelings.

This book has Reed going through a lot of stuff especially after dealing with Dash at the Legacy. I cried fairly often in this particular book (a few times in the last book Ambition--the very end) because it was hard to see Reed getting slammed with everything all at once. I felt for her, I really did. Even though a few things were her fault, I felt like she didn't deserve what she had gotten.

I was a bit surprised about the last book when all the guys at Easton were fighting for Reed's affections. I suppose they don't really care about her middle-class background? On the upside, Reed did have a few real friends in the end like Constance whom I like and Ivy ended up being the best frenemy Reed could have hoped for. I would have never suspected Sabine. I had a certain hunch about her and wondered if she'd ever do Noelle in at some point but I did shrug it off in the end.

I know that Noelle was in the right to be angry with Reed for kissing Dash at the Legacy, but I now know that Reed and Dash were drugged with Ecstasy by Sabine. Sabine is Ariana's sister, I just found out. I started feeling fishy about her near the end. The leads were going from Amberly and I thought "who else?"

My heart went out to Josh and Reed whom I love as a couple. I don't know why Josh started dating Ivy so quickly so I know there's something behind that. I hope Josh and Reed find a way to reconcile everything.

All in all, this book was one of my favorites because Reed had a lot of character development as well as Ivy. I feel like I know Reed more now than I did before. I also feel like I know Noelle more. She was hurt, badly by what Reed had done and that showed Noelle's human side. I'm excited to keep reading the story!

Well... I guess I have to read the next one, don't I?

-------------------------------

Okay okay, hear me out. I know these books aren't 'good', but they are like crack to me. I love 'trashy' YA books set in boarding schools with bitchy teenage girls. I don't know why, but I do.

That being said, I hate Reed. She's such a whiny child. Oh the whole world is out to get her, she isn't responsible for any of her actions, her friends are being manipulated by evil girls and that's why they hate, the evil bitch next door stole her boyfriend, it had nothing to do with Reed cheating on him, blah blah blah. I just wanted to shake some sense into her.

But the mystery kinda drew me in and then that ending. The cliffhanger! I didn't not see any of it happening and I need to read the next one.. I will hate myself for it, but I need to know what happens next.

Have you ever been stalked thought to be a murderer, and trying to win back all your friends at the same time? Well Reed Brennan has! In this mystery book called Revelation written by Kate Brian you will be able to get an instead look on Reeds crazy mixed up life and how she’s dealing with everything she’s going through. Reed lives and goes to school at Easton Academy a private school were the drama is sky high! Reed got kicked out of the Billings house where she used to live at school and is now being forced to a room next to her arch enemy Ivy Slade who Reed thinks is the one stalking her by trashing her room and living little gifts for her when she gets home but is Reed right? But luckily Reed has her best friend Sabine DuLac to help her get through these rough times… Right?
I think that this series/book is beyond amazing! There are so many twists and turns you will never know what will happen next! One minute Reeds life is all perfect she’s the most popular girl in school, has great friends, and is the president of Billings. Then the next minute she’s kicked out of Billings and sits alone at the lunch table, and she’s suspected to have killed a girl! This book is very intense and has a ton of ups and downs throughout. But that’s what keeps you so into the book and it made me want to keep reading the next page just to see what happens next!
I think this book is for a girl who loves to be shocked and new things happening all the time. I think this because that’s how Reeds life is she has problems where ever she’s looking and something new happens to her every day and is always shocked with the outcome of some of the events that happen to her which is why a girl like that would love it. I recommend this book to you because it’s a thriller there’s murder issues, stalking, boy troubles, and friend drama. If you like adrenaline pumping then you’ll get a lot of that out of this book or any of the other books in the series.

I was so happy that this is the first book where Reed goes on exactly zero dates! She's too busy trying to solve a murder to go out with jerky guys, and I love that for her. However, the twist in who her stalker is did not surprise me at all, and having that stalker be related to Ariana felt like it rewrote some previous things we knew about Ariana. Also I was so annoyed that this ended on the biggest cliffhanger yet! I will though definitely be reading the next book because of this, so Kate Brian does know what she's doing.

Wow that got intense (again)! I was soo sus on Amberley and Ivy throughout the book, I didn’t see it coming with Sabene. There was one sus moment when her and Reed were talking, but I wiped that thought as fast as it came as there was no other evidence. How did we not know she is Ariana’s sister?? And then josh and ivy! I feel a bit bad as I’m hoping Reed gets back with Josh, but then I started to have a soft spot for Ivy towards the end. And who did Sabine shoot?? Need the next one!!

This was a reread for me but I still really enjoyed it. Kate Brian really has a knack for writing pageturners. And her endings always have insane cliffhangers - especially this one!

I really enjoyed this series the first time I read it and I'm still enjoying it the second time around.

I described Ambition as 'really fucking exciting', but if I had to describe Revelation in a couple of words it would be 'lonely' or 'hopeless'. Reed is completely ostracized after the leak of the Dash video, and with the exception of Sabine, all the Billings Girls refuse to talk to her out of fear that Noelle would find out. She's kicked out of Billings, her ex-boyfriend is dating Satan incarnate, the entire school thinks she murdered Cheyenne, and the masses of guys that were courting her a week ago suddenly won't even sneer in her general direction.

As annoying as she can be, I really felt for the girl. The loneliness was palpable, and I wanted nothing more than to give her a big hug. And as if the author didn't do a good enough job of kicking Reed while she's down, Reed's new dorm in Pemberley Hall is right next to that of Ivy Slade. The stalking continues, and though I admitted in my review of Ambition that I didn't really suspect Ivy as the killer/stalker, it was nonetheless exciting to watch Reed be driven to the edge of insanity. And as much as I hate Ivy, her malicious and snide interactions with Reed were so much fun to read.

I also really enjoyed it when the author revealed that the stalker was also targeting Ivy, prompting Ivy and Reed to join forces to bring them down. It was nice to see another side to Ivy, and I'm glad the author didn't make the two all lovey-dovey-bffs straight away - they both kept their distance, but both wanted the same outcome. I still think Ivy's a raging bitch, but I'm glad the author upped her humanity level just a bit.

And oh god, the stalker's identity - can I say OMGWAT?! I'd suspected Sabine a couple of times throughout the text, but immediately dismissed it because she was so damn innocent and nice. I love that she turned out to be the stalker and killer, and I think Kate Brian did an epic job in tying up the loose ends. There were moments where I'd suspected something was up, but I never got to the stage where I was like 'okay, is the stalker interfering here?' Namely Reed's intoxication at the Legacy - I wondered whether her drink had been spiked, but I couldn't point fingers at anybody. I also thought Sabine was hiding something when it came to her sister, but I didn't think much of it. I'm so happy that those little details were addressed!

I don't like that Sabine just happened to be Ariana's secret sister though, it was almost as lame as the secret-basement-dwelling-twin storyline in Pretty Little Liars. I guess the author wanted to completely blindside us, but I wish there had been a little more tying Sabine to Ariana. How convenient is it that she happens to be Ariana's sister, despite having a French accent, living in Martinique and looking completely different? Was she even Ariana's biological sister or just a stepsister? I think it would've made more sense if Sabine was from America and occasionally dropped into a Southern accent. Actually, it would've just made more sense if Amberley had been the killer, since she seems to be appropriating Ariana's identity.

Overall: I'd describe the first half of Revelation as 'lonely' and 'hopeless', but I guess I'd also describe the second half as 'really fucking exciting'. We find out who the second killer is, and it's a complete and utter mindfuck. Though I don't like that the killer conveniently happens to be related to Ariana, I thought the big reveal was much more satisfying that of Confessions. Kate Brian did a great job here, making Reed's loneliness palpable and tying up all the loose ends and then some with Sabine.

When we left the Girls of Billings in "Ambition (Private, Book 7)" Reed had just pulled of the coup of the year with the fundraiser to save the school, only to have her reputation smeared across campus, when someone distributed her short make-out session video with Dash, Noelle's on-again/off-again boyfriend. That is one girl you should never cross.

Returning to Easton Academy after Thanksgiving break, she receives the shocking news that the Girls of Billing have voted her out. Everyone in Easton also agrees that Reed is Cheyenne's murderer, since she has the most to gain for her death. Reed now knows how far Noelle will go to get back at anyone that crosses her.

She suddenly finds herself in a disgustingly ugly small single in Pemberly and her next-door neighbor is none other than her ex-boyfriend Josh Hollis' new girlfriend, Ivy Slade. To add to her paranoia, even after moving out of Billings, Reed is still finding mysterious items of Cheyenne's in her room.

The more Reed investigates, the more she uncovers. And as any Billings Girl knows...secrets can be deadly. As she investigates and gets closer to the truth, people that she thought she couldn't count on come to her aid. And those she thought were the ones she could always count on may turn out to be the ones she should've been watching out for all along.

This is the most revealing installment in the Private series since "Confessions". What makes this one so great is that many questions and loose ends are finally answered. You also get a lot of new scattered pieces to this intriguing puzzle. Various characters are developed in this book and you get a bigger picture and stronger sense of who they are and what roles they play in Reed's life. The cliffhanger is also extremely shocking, not to mention frustrating, since the next book, "Paradise Lost (Private, Book 9)" won't come out until February next year.

For now, I will just have to settle with hunting down the prequel book "Last Christmas" -- one which centers on Ariana Osgood and Thomas Pearson -- and wait for the release of "Privilege" (the spinoff to "Private") also centered on Ariana.

I really like this book! It was super suspenseful and dramatic, but in a good way. I also liked how detailed the characters were described because it made me feel like I knew them. Also, the cliffhanger at the end made me mad but now I want to read the next book!

The 8th book of the series, we find Reed suddenly an outcast and a loner, when just a couple of weeks ago she was the queen bee. I found the book to be the most emotional one of the series. It was sad in a lot of aspects and I really felt bad for Reed, and even nervous for her at times.

Although sad, it gets your emotions all racked up so you really get into the book. I finished it in one day. So it wasn't my favorite story-wise, but it was the most engaging. I just wanted Reed to be back at Billings and get her life back. Even if those girls are one dimensional and self absorbed at times, they still rock!

The plot, well, it wasn't hard to figure out, though I still never was 100% sure. A lot of loose ends were tied up, but more questions also arose, and hopefully Reed's life will get back on track and she will get Josh back (though now I kind of like Ivy so I may feel a bit bad for her). The ending was a cliffhanger like expected. But the next book is on my bookshelf so it's ok.

Reed Brennan was kicked out of Billings.

Everyone thinks that Reed killed Cheyenne Martin, so her reputation has been tarnished. Noelle Lange feels betrayed; Reed made out with Dash, her on/off boyfriend. That's why she is making sure Reed gets what she deserves. And the worst part is, Josh, Reed's ex-boyfriend, dating Ivy Slade, her worst enemy. Reed is determined to find out the real murderer of Cheyenne Martin. Before it's too late.

You see the rating? Yes! I rated it 5 full stars!!
That was very heart pounding. You think you know who it was, then, BAM! It was someone else. And holy shit, I didn't see the real murderer coming. She looked so innocent. I guess appearances aren't everything after all.
And that ending. That was very cruel of you, Kate Brian! I was like, "NO!"
I can't wait for more.

Just beginning. I hope that this is one of the first questions asked: why the heck was it only learned two months later that Cheyenne had been murdered?

Later: Backtracking a bit from my update, I read Reed carrying the Idiot Ball -- not only not reporting the pills and card to the police and turning them over, but actually destroying them out of fear of being caught with them. However, maybe she wasn't carrying the idiot ball. One carrying the idiot ball is usually competent, and the idiot-ball incident is out of character. Maybe Reed wasn't acting out of character.

I liked this book!

The second arc is way too long. Book 5-8 should've been squeeze into 3 books.

I like how Reed is doing something rather than whining about Josh and/or Dash, because in the previous 2 books, it's kinda annoying to read.

...And the revelation?

I knew it! There's something fishy about this character.

IT'S SABINE ALL ALONG!

I just don't like the execution of the revelation in the public. At the party, people whispering and watching Reed and Sabine's drama unfold.

If Sabine want to get on Reed, why kill Cheyenne? Why not kill Reed directly, right?

Well, I still love the drama.

...and that cliffhanger?
Can't wait to read book 9.

Always found her to be suspicious since the 5th book. I’m never wrong! Now as for the Cheyenne appearances. Were those just apparitions or whatever. Anywho, kind of whack that Reed’s situationship with Dash was explained away by drugging because it compels Josh to forgive in the same manner despite read having partaken in an emotional affair with Dash. However given the ambiguity of Josh’s situation with Cheyenne (not knowing what parts of that had been Sabine tampering or genuine truth), Reed Brennan you win this round. Also this motivation going back to whack ass Thomas is so annoying. Can’t believe we lost such an antagonist as big as Cheyenne because of that loser and Ariana.

I felt bad that Reed had to get kicked out of Billings for what she did to Noelle. And having to watch her ex, who she is still in love with, date someone else. Reed suspects the girl, her ex is dating, to be the killer and stalker. This book was very suspenseful. Reed investigated who was stalking her and who killed Cheyenne. There's a cliff hanger at the end of the book.

4-4.5 that ending really did it for me. At first it was really hard to read once I was almost done with the book. I was always given the impression Reed was going to embarrass herself which would make me embarrassed. Which would also happen in previous books in the series. I was able to overcome those embarrassing moments and finish the book which I’m glad I did because that ending was amazing!
