What happens when a girl set on playing by the rules … finds a guy worth breaking them for?

Leeann Bradley is a college graduate who has achieved many of her personal goals, all because she follows the rules she’s set for herself. It’s simple, you work hard, enjoy life, surround yourself with friends and family, avoid jumping to conclusions … and oh yeah, don’t date college athletes. These rules have worked well and taken her down the path she wants in life. So what’s a girl to do when temptation, in the form of a sexy college soccer player, is placed right in the middle of that path? Deciding when to break the rules has never been easier for Leeann. But when assumptions are made, and more than just the rules are broken … will she be able to find her way down that path again? And what happens when it’s no longer the path she’s meant to take?

Until now, Jonathan Baxter had one primary focus in his life, soccer. All decisions made, have been based on how it could affect his ability to play soccer. His grades, his choice of college, any type of extracurricular activities, were all carefully assessed. All of it has made playing college soccer possible. But when an injury sidelines him for the foreseeable future, and jeopardizes his dreams, he has to work even harder than before. Rehabilitating his injury becomes his primary objective. Until he meets Leeann, a physical therapy assistant whose touch has the ability to make him lose focus. She has him thinking there could more in his life—in his future—than just soccer. So what’s Jonathan to do when Leeann assumes he’s just like every other jock out there? He has to prove her assumptions wrong.

Melanie is an amazing mother of four, an awesome and tolerant wife to one, and nurse to many. If you don’t believe her, just ask anyone in her family, they know what to say. She is also a devoted chauffer, the keeper of missing socks, a genius according to a six year old, the coolest soccer uniform coordinator according to a twelve year old, and the best damn ‘mac-n-cheese-with-cut-up-hot-dog maker in the whole world. Well that last title isn’t really official, but it’s still pretty cool to be called it.

When not being ordered around by any of the kids, you can find her with her nose in a book or on the sideline of a soccer game cheering on one team or another. But that’s mostly because she has a thing for the coach. When she is not doing all of the above, you can find her obsessed with a group of fictional characters all vying for a spot on the page of whatever she’s working on. It’s a fun and crazy life to lead, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

I loved Jonathan and LeeAnn's love story. This book had me smiling as I was reading it. I thought they had amazing chemistry and their playful banter and sarcasm just made me smile. I was thrilled the character from Melanie Codina's first series made a couple of guest appearances, since Jonathan is Gillian's son. I wasn't expecting a new series I thought it would be a continuation of the Real Love Series so happy we are getting this series.
I love all the characters, Mari is so much like Alli, they have to meet in one book. Jonathan is an amazing book boyfriend. Okay they had some problems communicating at the end, but it worked out. He is a lot like Jake, his stepdad and his mom.
I really hope we get more soon, I really would like more of LeeAnn and Jonathan, also of Mari, Robby and Madison.

Assumptions ,,,, this is definitely the right title for this book ,,, everyone makes assumptions throughout their lifetime ,,, ok sometimes these are good but sometimes they can be bad or misguided assumptions ,,, but we are all guilty of doing it ,,, aren't we?

So this book is Jonathan and Leeanns story ,,, hopefully you would have already read Melanie's other work (The Real Love Series) so you will have some insight to these characters (Jonathan's family) and background and some of it comes up through this book ,,, although they are a different series they do link together and I highly recommend ,,, Jonathan is Gillian's son ,,, he has had to deal with plenty of heartache at the hands of his own father and the treatment of his mother ,,, with a tattered relationship with his dad and a strong love for his mother he knows the importance of family, happiness, and faithfulness ,,, he has had meaningless sex in the past but when you only get brief gratification from such acts it slowly becomes boring ,,, he is a young hot guy, fit, healthy, with a prosperous future ahead of him with his athletic ability being what it is he has a bright future ,,,, a moment in time, a manoeuvre during a game could cost him all he knows and all he has worked for ,,, fearing the worst but hoping for the best he dives into his treatment and begins his recovery only begin the next journey of his life and future

Leeanns is a physical therapist ,,, she takes pride and great interest in what she does ,,, attending sporting events ,,, never did she expect for one of these events make her eyes watching something or someone that would change her forever ,,, break all of her rules and set her a new path in life ,,, after witnessing someone suffer an injury during a game she never expected to be seeing him again sitting in her office as her new patient ,,, an instant attraction is felt between the two of them ,,, things run easy and smoothly between them ,,, but this can only last for so long

When you assume things that are wrong they can lead you to act in a certain way ,,, time and time again this can be done ,,, but can it be fixed before it's too late?

These two have their own insecurities that they need to overcome ,,, one in fear of being cheated on because they fear they aren't enough ,,, and the other in fear of being accused of cheating and being seen to be the exact person they strive not too ,,, recipe for disaster,,, with the hep of friends and family can these two find their way in life before it's too late and too many mistakes are made?

Also must say I love Mari ,,, wanting to see her and Allie team up for sure ,,, and hoping to find out more regarding Mari and Robby ;)

Highly recommended read for all ,,, an overall great feel good read

I absolutely loved Jonathan! He's a hot soccer player, but is also super sweet and loves his family. He also melts your heart with his interactions with his little sister.

I thought Lee was a pretty great character, but there were a few things she did I wasn't a fan of..

I know some people disagree, but I still really dislike Logan, especially with how he acted in this book.

All in all I loved this book and am hoping there will be more in this series.

I'm kinda mad at myself for jumping straight into this book before finding out if it's a standalone or not. I have now added the second book here on GR but I thought this was a standalone when I read it and I hate finishing a book only to find out that it's incomplete.

I highly enjoyed the book itself though. I absolutely loved Lee and Jonathan's banter throughout the book and I just loved the strong friendship and family bonds both of these characters had. Most of the book was relatively angst free and I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop. Jonathan was an almost perfect hero and I loved watching him chase Lee.

It seems like 75% of the book was angst free because it was all saved for the end. The cliche misunderstanding and the drawn out angst is what brought this from 5 to 3 stars. I was loving these characters and then all of a sudden I'm frustrated and angry with them. They didn't do anything unforgivable but it was just unnecessary drama that I could have done without.

I was ready to add this book to my favorites list until that drama happened and then learning this wasn't a standalone further aggravated me. Maybe if the second one was already out I would've felt differently but now I'm not sure if I want to continue and chance something like this happening again.

*Note to my future self b/c I will most likely forget the small details in this book by tomorrow*

First of all, let's start with SOCCER PLAYERS!!!!! I REPEAT, SOCCER PLAYERS!!!!!
sigh, let's continue our regularly scheduled programming. Let's continue........a sports book that actually KNOWS the sport and I am SOLD!!! The times the book touches on the sport, you can just tell Melanie knows what she's talking about. Half the time, they author will lose me from trying too hard to convey something that they clearly know nothing about!

I liked this book A LOT!!!
The characters were super adorable! Leeann was such a rule follower and she never deviated from her plan. I liked that Leeann had already started her chosen career. She really tried to fight it, but the attraction she felt for super sexy soccer guy was just too much to resist. Her struggle to NOT give into him, was palpable. Jonathan........lesigh! Super sexy soccer guy! This guy was a complete dream. The things he would say to Leeann! OMG!! Where was he when I was NOT married and with FIVE kids!! Some girls have all the damn LUCK!!!!

This book is the perfect combination of sweet, sexy, romantic and just the right amount of angst. It was just a super enjoyable read. And honestly, I didnt roll my eyes ONCE at any cliches, which is my guideline for 4 stars!
This is a perfect weekend read or Thanksgiving break read. I highly recommend it!

I have been counting down the days before I could get my hands on 'Assumptions' for a while now because I was so excited for another book by the super-talented Melanie Codina. I just finished it and I am drowning in the amount of feels that I have. I fell in love with the Baxter family in 'The Real Love' series of books. This book is a spinoff of that series and focuses on Jonathan one of the children of Gillian and Logan who we meet in the first book. The relationship between Jonathan and Lee was absolute perfection - it developed at just the right pace and never felt rushed or drawn out. One reason I love Melanie's books is because they always feel so relatable and, in no part of them, do you read it and think 'nope, that would never happen' because she writes REAL characters who you can truly relate to on so many levels. They are flawed, they are inappropriate at times, they are funny, they know how to love deeply, and most of all they are loyal and fiercely protective over those they love. I will admit to having high expectations because I am a HUGE fan of hers and I am so happy to say that she exceeded them and left me with a feeling of contentment after finishing this book.....and on pins and needles waiting for Logan's story - and anyone who has read this series knows we should all be angry with him but Melanie has made us fall for him too - and that is true talent!! :)

Melanie has a way of incorporating humor into her books that I love. This was a conversation between two of Lee's girlfriends:

"They aren't ginormous; they just look that way because I have a tiny waist." Angie snorted, shaking her head. "Yeah, and my ass only looks this big because I carry a tiny purse."

And this comment made by Lee's mom and best friend (this one had me laughing out loud and my kids asking what was going on, lol):

"Geez, Mari, you look like you're having an orgasm over there. And there are no orgasms at the breakfast table. It's a hard rule."

There were so many times that I found myself laughing out loud, smiling from ear to ear, getting butterflies in my stomach from anticipation, and having tears rolling down my face either from happiness or sadness. So many emotions and so much talent by this amazing author. I don't usually beg - but I'm begging you to go and pick up this book because I truly feel that it is one that you do NOT want to miss out on!!

This book completely blew me away. Melanie Codina sure knows how to write a beautiful romance. The relationship between Jonathan and Lee was perfectly developed, and it didn't happen too quickly or too slowly. Jonathan and Lee had scenes of pure wittiness, which had me laughing out loud. There were also scenes at made me swoon, and scenes that made me feel like I was almost sweating due to the passion. Their relationship had a perfect balance of everything, which made reading this story so enjoyable. At first, I thought their relationship seemed too perfect, but I was glad to see some real issues thrown into the relationship. It made the book seem more realistic and believable.

""You called me your boyfriend," his raspy voice stroked my skin, lighting the nerves in its wake. I couldn't find my voice to respond; it had abandoned me. So I nodded as best I could with his hand holding my head in place and the minimal space between us. He smiled a sexy smile, drawing my attention from his eyes.

"That makes you my girlfriend then." This time, his voice was even lower. Huskier. Sexier. It wasn't a question...he seemed to be stating a fact. Like he was talking to himself. Nonetheless, I responded with another lame headshake. His sexy smile got bigger, and I felt the hand in my hair get tighter as he used his grip to slightly tilt my head.

"That means I can kiss you whenever I want." Again, he wasn't asking, he was stating."

I also loved the fact that the book would switch between Lee's point-of-view and Jonathan's. It made the book more enjoyable, and I liked being able to learn more about each character through their point-of-view. The friends and family of both Lee and Jonathan were lovable and only added to the book; those scenes did not take away from the book. Sometimes, Lee's best friend, Mari, would get on my nerves, but she was still likeable.

Overall, I loved everything about this book. It was fantastic! I seriously recommend it to everyone, especially to those who love new adult romances. This book was amazing, and I hope Melanie Codina will write more books with these characters

I beta read this book for the awesome author.
Ok if you have read the Real Love Series, you met Jonathan in book 1. He is Gillian and Logan’s son who really really REALLY hates his dad for what he did to Gillian. Now if you didn’t read this book or the books in that series, it is ok. You will find out in the novel what Logan does to make his son hate him. HOWEVER, if you haven’t you will get to meet the CRAZY Baxter/Micheals family and run to purchases those book as well.
So Jonathan is the resident Soccer STUD who gets sidelined after an accident…Hey look Melanie I did a sports type metaphor!!! His hottie therapist is none other than our resident “not gonna ever fall in the trap of love” Lee. The two hit it off and the sexual chemistry is soooo good. I love that they hide the sexual banter behind salads….I have never wanted to eat a salad so bad in my entire life!!! LOL
When Lee finally gets the nerve to ask Jonathan out to the club…holy heck…hawtness!! I will never hear Dark Horse again without thinking of that scene!!! *wipes brow* So Lee and Jonathan fall into a familiar and comfortable, dare I say, relationship?? Yes friends they do. But then Jonathan has to go back to school. See he was only here for therapy from his sports injury and then he has to leave.
So the drama begins when Lee is accused of some things at work and then she finds out she may have another situation on her hands. So who can make her feel better??? Jonathan. So she runs to seek shelter to find him…with…..*quivery lip* another!! GASP!! No Jonathan!!!!
I loved Gillian and Mari in this book. However, I kinda fell in love with Logan after his big spiel to Jonathan about “getting his head outta his you know what”!!
I cannot wait for more from these two and I am excited to read more about Logan in Melanie’s other series. Really you can’t for wrong with either series. She is THAT good!!

I really liked the premise of the book and was hoping to enjoy the book as much, and I did. I have soft spot for soccer players, bad boys, and good girls, but not necessarily in that order. I was surprised because the story wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but something sweeter.

Leeann likes to be called "Lee" and she's happy and comfortable with who she is. She loves her job, her friends, her mom, and doesn't really trust guys. I liked her attitude when it came to life. She was serious, but joyous and fun at the same time. I liked how Jonathon was confident but not the bad boy I was expecting. He was more of a man who knew he wanted something more substantial than a one night stand. The two of them together were very sweet. I liked how their courtship was slow and so cute. Ella was adorable. I loved how involved Leeann's friends and Jonathon's family were in their relationship.

I was a little taken aback by the lack of drama and then the sudden introduction of it at the end. It felt like everything was so great until all of a sudden it wasn't. I am looking forward to perhaps Mari and Robby's story. I do hope they have a future together. Either way, Melanie Codina is one author to watch out for.

I really liked this one

storyline....loved the fated to meet idea. I also liked the immediate attraction and the slow build. the story never felt rushed. it never slowed down to make me lose interest.

characters....I fortunately liked both characters. I have to admit I got annoyed, but I wasn't annoyed enough to give up on them.

drama/angst....yes, I saw it coming. it was okay though because I just really like this writer's style. I drooled my eyes and waited to see how it would all play out....bring on the annoyance.....finish with the HEA....which I'm supposing is an HEA for now or a whole new couple for book two. either way I'm sure I'll read it.

writing....evenly spread action. real characters who are presented through first person POV....May favorite. not overly done drama. even though it was predictable and has been done before, it was bearable. thankfully the quality of the writing carried me through til the end.

even though it may not be bestselling material, it is still a really great read. it's definitely one you won't regret. it entertaining enough to give up a lazy day to.

I need the next book...like yesterday!!

Want to about a complete feel-good-book? This right here!!

I absolutely ADORED the H(Jonathan) and the h(Leeann) to freaking pieces!!

What I really love about this story? There are no other-women fiascos (because he's an athlete and all) and they are just straight up with each other. No beating around the proverbial bush, no pussy-footing around their feelings...it was just dynamic.

Why not five stars? Because the miscommunication and ASSUMPTIONS towards the end had be growling at my e-reader. But, that is not to say that it ruined the story for me. It's actually left me salivating for more!!

I'm just a little worried that this book was published a year ago and there is still no word on when Expectations will be released...

I really, really enjoyed this story. Leanne and Johnathan are two characters that I just could not get enough of. The author created two very realistic, believable characters with these two. Honestly, all the characters were great.

I'm not a big fan of insta-love. I'm not a love at first sight kind of girl. But, attraction is another story. Yea, you can be attracted to someone in an instant, drawn to them. I think I enjoyed this story so much because it was so real. Johnathan and Lee got to know each other. They cultivated their relationship and it grew into something beautiful.

Of course this is fiction, so there had to be some angst and drama. But again, it was believable. The characters had pretty normal, emotional reactions. This is a story about two characters wading through a new relationship and figuring it out as they go. The more I think about this story, the more I fall in love with it.

It's no secret that I love Melanie Codina. And she did not disappoint me this time either! I really enjoyed this book. I liked both Leeann and Jonathan's characters. Their banter was spot on. The secondary characters were pretty amazing too. I love a romance where neither character fights their feelings. Both Leeann and Jonathan followed their hearts and dove in head first.

There was a big misunderstand about 70% of the way through the book that had the potential to ruin everything. And it almost did. They were finally able to put their stubbornness aside and see that what they had in each other was real.

The writing, the characters, the humor, the drama, everything was spot on. I'll say this has a happy ending, but the lack of an epilogue left it wide open for a sequel. I would love to read more about Leeann and Jonathan. But I would be ok with reading Mari or Robby's stories too.

5 stars!

I freaking loved this book, it's a spin off from the Real Love series which if you haven't read yet they're definitely worth reading (can be read as a standalone). Jonathan is this hot soccer player who every girl would fall in love with. He's caring, affectionate, witty, charming and of of course totally hot. And then there's Leeann who is this feisty athletic physical therapist who most girls can relate to. Their relationship is relatable and genuine. I'm totally looking forward to reading more of Lee and Jonathan's story in the 2nd book.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Another great book from Melanie! I loved this book from the very first page and only came to love it more the further I got. Jonathan and Leeann are extremely likeable, especially as a couple, and I absolutely loved their story. It had a very real/genuine feel to it and I could easily see many young men and women of the same age acting how Leeann and Jonathan did. Excellent read. Highly recommend.

Even if you haven't read her Real Love series you will enjoy this but I bet at the end you will have the urge to go read them and believe me you will want to

This novel has been on my kindle for ages, and I just never got around to reading it. Oh, how I wish I had read it soon. One word - Jonathan. I think I might be in love with a fictional character, he is just so perfect, but not in a not beleivable way. I am not sure how to describe him, I just loved everything about him.

As the novel suggests it is all about Assumptions, and at times I wanted to knock Johnathan and Leeann head together, not that I condone violence of any kind. But come on guys, you are so perfect for each other.

I really did enjoy this novel, but I have given it a four book rating as the ending dragged out a little. But apart from that a fabulous read.

I received this book by the Author for an honest review.

I absolutely love Melanie’s Real Love Series and when I heard she was doing a spin off about Jonathan, Gillian and Logan’s oldest son, I was thrilled. I was so excited that not only did I get to see a grown up Jonathan but I also got to see the gang from the Real Love Series too. I forgot how much I missed them all.

Jonathan is injured while playing college soccer and has to endure Rehab. When he realizes the physical therapist is not a Male therapist named Lee but actually Leeann a female therapist he decides it may not be soo bad. However, Leeann is convinced all jocks are the same and Jonathan is going to prove her wrong. He knows all the ways to do this lord knows he has enough female mentors between his mother, aunts and sister.

Just when things are going great a game changer is tossed in and when Leeann makes the wrong assumption about something she sees and accuses Jonathan of something everything goes downhill. By the time Leeann realizes she has made a mistake Jonathan and his stubborn will has his mind made up and things may never be the same.

I love seeing Jonathan and Robby together, they are more like brothers than best friends. I love the signs the family make for Jonathan and Robby at the game. The overdue Father/Son chat Logan has with Jonathan was great. I absolutely loved Mari throughout the story. She never held back her punches if something needed to be said she was going to say it no matter what, when or where. I can never get enough of Gillian and her ability to be so loving and accepting of new people treating them as if they have always been a part of the family even from the first day they see each other.

I am so excited to see where this series is going and to see the rest of the Baxter-Michaels-Lawson family and friends.

Some of my Favorites:

“Not it sounds better, Robby, look.” I told him while laughing and motioning to the three signs lined up next to each other that read, Jonathan Baxter is our man, if he can’t do it, Robby can! “Ha! That’s right,” Robby Declared as he pointed up at them.

A huge smile of satisfaction spread across his masculine face, and my girly parts sighed. They actually just sighed at the sight of this walking, talking, life-sized Ken doll’s smile. I’d always thought Ken was a hottie, and even though my girlfriends gave me crap over it, I stood my ground. But even they’d have to admit this life-sized version in front of me was crazy sexy. I was expecting Barbie to stroll through the door and wave her corvette keys at him. I ignored the bulge, which he was attempting to hide, partially tenting his soccer shorts, and wrestled my hair back into submission with a hair tie. Time to refocus.

I found myself watching Leeann walk away. The phrase, I hate to see her go, but love to watch her leave, had never been truer. Did that make me a pig? Probably. But I could accept that.

“So, Leeann, I was thinking of asking you out on a date, but figured I should make sure there wasn’t a Mr. Leeann in the picture,” I stated matter-of-factly, taking another bite of my salad. Rather than respond right away, she gave me an amused look. I really liked that I amused her. It did great things for my ego. “A Mr. Leeann?” she inquired. I nodded, liking my choice of words. “Yeah. You know, a member of the opposite sex who you’ve attached yourself to. Maybe even had Cobb salads with. Although I’m sure there would be other things you do with a Mr. Leeann, but we don’t need to bring those up. I prefer to just think of you eating Cobb salads with him.”

“Well, there really isn’t anyone else I eat Cobb salads with. Except you, of course. But –“ I interrupted her, “Perfect! That makes me your Mr. Leeann. I can totally be that for you. Except I could definitely see us doing more than eating Cobb salads together.”

I knew I wanted this woman, but now I knew exactly how much. The ferocity of it like nothing I’d ever known.

“Yeah, silly girl. Call this what you want. A relationship, dating, a commitment, a prelude to more… call it anything, just don’t stop it from happening.”

“Hey, I’d prefer if you’d refrain from using words like manbits when talking about my dick. ‘Bits’ is too close to ‘bitty’ and that rhymes with ‘itty,’ and that is definitely unfuckingacceptable.”

Oh the FEELS! Assumptions is full of them! I LOVED Melanie’s Love Series and Assumptions is a spin off. We are reintroduced to Jonathon Baxter, Gillian and Logan’s son. He is all grown up and off to college. Jonathon is living his dream of starting defender on his Division I team. He hasn’t bothered with a steady girlfriend because soccer has been his life… and why have one when you can have more? Leeann Bradley is also living out her very own dream of being a physical therapist. After getting burned badly in college, she has sworn off relationships, especially with athletes. She’s over the big egos.

Jonathon and Lee meet when he is rehabbing his knee from an ACL tear. Jonathon is attracted from the start. Lee thinks he’s just another typical male jock and gives him the brush off. Attracted or not, she is not jumping in that pool, but Jonathon is full of sweet moves. He charms his way into Lee’s life and Lee finds she is thinking about him all the time and just doesn’t want to stay away from him anymore. The scene at the club?? Hot!!!
“I’m not sure I can be a gentleman for much longer, Leeann. If your fingers keep doing that to my hair, you’ll be leaving this club draped over my shoulder in under ten seconds.”

Lee and Jonathon ooze chemistry. Their relationship is charming and effortless He’s never been in a relationship before, but Jonathon has been around enough women in his life, he knows exactly how to treat them. He makes Leeann feel like the only girl in the world. Even though Jonathon’s time to rehab at home is up, and he needs to head back to school, they make their long-distance relationship work. Their text messages and phone calls are sweet. I loved following Jonathon and Leeann as they fell in love. I felt every high and every low right alongside them. When confronted with a misunderstanding, will the pasts that Jonathon and Leeann carry with them get in the way and cloud their judgment? Do Jonathon and Leeann have enough fight in them to work through it, or will they let their assumptions get in the way?

“What could I have possible done to distract you so thoroughly?”
“Breathe, Leeann…all you have to do is breathe.”

I crawled under the covers and just absorbed every word of this fantastic story. Melanie Codina’s writing is flawless. Each word is crafted to weave these beautiful scenes that you can see clearly in your mind. She creates characters that want to spend time with and miss when they are gone. They are personable and approachable, like your best friend or neighbor. It’s what makes Melanie’s writing real and timeless. Melanie Codina has become one of my go-to authors and I look forward to everything she has for us in the future.

Assumptions by Melanie Codina

Melanie Codina’s Real Love Series is one of my favorites. It’s where we meet Jonathan as a teenager. I always wanted his story as he aged. And now, we’ve got it!!

Assumptions follows an older Jonathan Baxter; he’s now 21, attends college and plays as one of the stars on the school soccer team. I’m not surprised he’s smart and accomplished. He’s also yummy!! Very yummy…taller, broader muscles, a hottie! But I knew that because his parents Gillian and Logan are knock outs.

Then he meets Leeann, a physical therapist. Jonathan recently hurt his knee on the field resulting in surgery. To which he now needs to follow up with a PT. And this is where their story starts.

And in Melanie fashion, you fall in love with Jonathan and Leeann. Coming from such a huge family, Jonathan is just so warm and kind, and loving. Everything you would want in a boyfriend. He’s truly a gentleman. And Leeann, is beautiful, smart, funny, and feisty.
The two fit together like a glove.

Through food they bond. Funny but true. And I think it’s adorable…this story was adorable. Everything about how Jonathan and Leeann interact is touching. Their banter is fun, and fresh. And Robby and Mari, who are Jonathan and Leeann’s sidekicks are MINT!! Especially Mari. That girl is classic, and would definitely want her as my best friend. And Robby seems like a player. I definitely see something brewing between those two….we shall see….

What I really looked forward to were the scenes with the whole gang from the Real Love Series. And of course Melanie brought it. I love Gillian and Allie. Those two together had me laughing out loud. The thing about a Melanie Codina novel ...it’s real. Nothing feels forced or unrealistic.

The last chunk of the book filled my eyes with tears, and left my heart hurting. Again, Melanie takes a situation and pulls every real emotion; and she does it with smart dialog. I honestly had a lump in the throat and a pain in my heart. There were a couple of scenes like that, but the one scene that stood out to me was a scene with Jonathan and his father Logan.

Logan…damn…that man breaks my heart and has since the first book in the Real Love series. Jonathan and his father have some serious issues to iron out, and I tell ya, I was crying…

This book brought out so many emotions, which is why I urge you buy it!!
