No es sorpresa que desde la primera vez que vi la película, tuve una conexión instantánea con la historia, con los personajes y sus experiencias, sobre todo con Ember. Por tanto, esta edición de Salvat me supo a un excelente complemento porque narra todo lo que ocurre en el filme y le da un poco más de profundidad a los personajes.
Fue una lectura ligera, entretenida y prácticamente me lo leí de una sentada. Tiene algunas ilustraciones de personajes y escenarios y creo que vale muchísimo la pena si es que son fans de la película. Lo recomiendo mucho.

Elemental is a fascinating tale about forbidden love, community and racism (or elementalism as the book call it). It has a lot of important discusssions about race and equality, immigrants and their struggles and finding your place.
Ember is a fire-person and, just like the rest of all fire-people in Elemental City, she sufders racism from other people, especial the water-people. She focuses on helping her parents run her shop and tries to be the best daughter she can.
This book portrays the realities of many immigrant families, including Ember's, who have to go through many hardships to find a better life. And knowing this, Ember feels like she owes to her family to inherit their shop and keep their dream going... Even if it's not hers.
Everything changes when she meets Wade Ripple, a water-guy, who's not at all what she expected. He's sweet, kind and helps Ember find a leak that could jeopardize the safety of the whole Fire Neighborhood. As they talk and get to know each other, love blossoms, even though everyone says fire and water can't mix.
Wade and Ember's tale becomes a tale of love between two creatures who aren't supposed to work, and yet they do. Their love is pure and makes them become better people, helps them see who they really are.
It's Wade who gives Ember courage to tell her dad she doesn't want to run the shop. And her father, who deep down already knew, told her that she was the dream...not the shop. I love moments like this when parents make it clear to their children that they are the priority and that they will always be loved and supported no matter what.

Una adaptación muy bonita. Se trata de una historia bastante tierna y que se prestó bastante bien al formato novela. El único "defecto" es que no me terminé de creer por completo la relación entre Ember y Wade en esta novela, aunque en la pelicula no me había pasado lo mismo. Pero me la creí lo suficiente como para disfrutar un montón sus momentos tiernos.

hermoso el libro y hermosa la historia.Desde que vi la película espere ansiosa el libro ,me encanta las ilustraciones y la edición del libro
