A 3 timed married Grandmother who was in love with each of her husbands & is now a very wealthy Dowager Duchess. She has lots of grandchildren, with 2 Dukes & a Marquis among them with others in her vastly numbered family. This Lady decides to have a huge house party with games to win a place in her will.
One of the Dukes, Dominic finds he isn't invited because his grandmother sees him as a rake & could upset her Dowager Dabbles Will ridiculous. He then lies about having a fiance & both are invited expected for the games.
Charlotte is attempting to keep her Stepmother from pushing one of her sisters into dancing with Dominic, the Duke. Charlotte says they courting & overheard by Dominic, he backed her up to her Stepmother
With an agreement the 2 enter into a pretend type of courtship in order to win money at the games. These two use nicknames like Precious Plum & Sweetkins which are cute. This is a very lovable couple you root for.
Definitely an interesting beginning. I really loved that you could tell from the beginning how much Dominic & Charlotte cared for each other & could to see their love start to grow.
I like how Dominic noticed all that Charlotte did for her sisters & felt she deserved to be treated well & rewarded for her selflessness & went out of his way to do that for her.
I agree with Charlotte with disliking rakes, so I was really happy when Dominic explained the truth. though didn't tell her & instead he lie to her face when he purposed, & that was quite disappointing & made the end harder to enjoy.
I appreciate how she helped him with his anxiety & cared for him & how they both looked out for each other. There was something wonderful about their relationship that was really sweet.
I loved the comradery of the cousins in the midst of a scheming and dogmatic grandmother. The character projected by Charlotte was just like an elder sister, self- sacrificing, and motherly. Dominic was liken to a well-meaning guy who was loved by his family . They teased him unmercifully but good naturally. The "Dowagers Dabbles" was a splendid backdrop to falling in ❤️ love.
4-5 stars Loved the banter and overall story, their relationship growth felt genuine and fun to be around, and the author did a good job showing not telling. The dowager games were surprisingly fun to read about. Loved the letter writing!
2-3 stars Sometimes heroine annoyed me. Didn’t like the 3rd act breakup even if it was quickly resolved. Was bored by the time we reached the epilogue and I was skipping through a lot at the end just to see what happened.
This is a truly emotionally moving story. There were times I was laughing, times I was on the edge of my seat with anxiety, and most importantly, times I was sighing with satisfaction at the love story. A story that is definitely worth the time to read! Very enjoyable!
Charlotte and Dominick are caught up in a lovers charade. Luckily, it becomes reality for them both. A lovely story with mad families and a kind Duke to match the kind Lady Charlotte.Well done. A good story with great characters.
I truly loved the grandmother in this wonderful story. Both Charlotte and Dominic were so witty and charming. A true love story with the happiest of endings. I am saving it to read again in the future
"Bound to the Scarred Duke" is extremely enjoyable to read. The families in the story are relatable, entertaining, chaotic, loving families. The grandmother was my favorite person. She is wise and very funny. One of best stories i have read in months.
I love the story, it's very entertaining, a bit too long, but every bit entertaining anyway. If you are considering reading this novel, go for it, it's a beautiful story. I can't wait to read the next book!
I enjoyed this story as I have the many stories you have written. Each one is so different from the others . it has been fun selecting the next one. Keep up the good work.
I so enjoyed this book I hated to get to the finish. But, alas, all good things must come to an end. And so Charlotte and Dominic's love story has a happy ending.
A great story of challenges, kindness, drama and deceit. Thoroughly entertaining dialog from all the characters. Surprises throughout. A pleasure to read.
I truly enjoyed this book. The characters are a joy to get to know and they are fun to read about. Lots of tension between different characters. Just a really fun read.
