What's worse than being single at your high school reunion? Accidentally blurting out your engaged… to your hot best friend!
My bakery just burned down. My dress is too tight. Oh, and the mean girls? Still as nasty as ever.
So I try to put on a brave face when in walks Julian. All custom suit and sin, looking like every fantasy I've ever had.
Panicking, I grab my billionaire best friend and do something I announce we're getting married!
I always wanted Maggie in high school but, damn, I kept my hands to myself. Since then, I’ve survived a messy divorce and earned my stripes as a single dad.
But now, I’m done wanting. So I don’t just play along with her little stunt. I own it. “You’re mine now,” I murmur against her ear, then kiss her in front of the whole room.
Now we’re fake engaged, and since I need a nanny and she needs a little rescuing, she moves in. And that’s when things really heat up.
Every breathless kiss, every burning touch, every pleading moan is proof—this was never fake for me. And when I hear her breath hitch as I whisper, “Tell me you don’t want this,” I know there’s no going back.
She thinks this is temporary. She thinks it’ll ruin our friendship. She thinks I’ll let her walk away when this is over. Not a chance. I told her she’s mine.
Now she’s about to see what happens when a man refuses to let go of the one thing he can’t live without.
Get ready to fall in love with this spicy single dad fake engagement romance. No cheating and a very satisfying HEA.
Single Dad and the nanny Billionaire Friends to lovers Accidental and fake engagement He falls first and hard
This friends to lovers, fake dating story was just too good! The storyline starts strong and doesn't fall flat throughout the remainder of the book. The love between these two characters is swoon worthy and the protective golden retriever vibes that Julian puts off towards Maggie is just 😘.

And that's saying something considering she was only in the book for a few chapters at most. Sigh. The nice thing about this book in comparison to the other books that I have read by the same author in her series is that there's no accidental baby this time. Maybe we've finally broken off of that trope! I swear all the other books that I've read had pregnancies. This one talked about it down the road, and I'm surprised it wasn't included as an epilogue or something but there was no baby. So that was a nice change.
Chloe's character was just way too much. And her reasoning was stupid too. How dense were her parents not to get her counseling or something too? As if it's another kids fault her parents ditched out on their marriage. So that was just ridiculous all around. She needs help. Big time. What a fool.
But I digress. Back to our main couple. Sure, she was down on her luck from the bakery burning down and such and took Julian's offer to help her out. Her dream was her bakery and it went up in smoke (literally). And she was going to have to rebuild. But insurance was delayed and yadda yadda yadda. So she tells Julian she wants a new bakery because she misses it. And then, the next day, realizes shoot. I have a rich future husband and now I wanna be a housewife... Um. What? And that's just a few pages (ok, maybe the next chapter) after telling him she didn't say yes because of his money. Haha. Ok. Sure. Just not realistic or my cup of tea.
I'm super glad this series has ended because I'm over the authors writing and tropes for reals.
This is my first book by Mia Mara and it won't be my last. It was quite the page turner. The characters were so interesting. The premise was novel. And I would love to be a part of that family's celebration for YaYa. High school reunions can be tricky. I am not sure why Maggie would want to attend, but she does and, of course, the mean girl is there and just won't let up. She latches on to her old friend Julian by saying he is her fiance and the story builds from there. There is some humorous dialogue in the beginning like "Do you like the car so much that you're going to sleep in it?' and "That was too much math and philosophy at once". It was easy to see these two together, not just physically, but in a solid relationship that grew from friendship. Julian's daughter seems much older than four but Maggie wins her over with her time and her spending time cooking with her. Again, something that is quite normal to grow a relationship. Julian's relationship with his cousins was fun to read and Chloe, the bully in the story, was just the way a real bully is. Mean until her target stands up to her. Bullies need other people to stand on top of to feel good about themselves. I liked how Maggie finally realized how empowering it is to stand up to a bully. There was a great twist at the end with Chloe that was well worth waiting for. There was steamy sex to enjoy. It was also nice to see it was well edited with no grammar or spelling issues. This was a great read. I look forward to more from this author.

When trying to escape dealing with her old high school bullies at their reunion, Maggie blurted out that she was engaged to Julian, who had walked over to try and help her get away from them. He rolled with it, and things got heated pretty quick. Since he had had a crush on her since high school, it was no hardship for him.
They decided to keep the fake engagement going so that his family wouldn't nag him about finding his daughter a new mom as hers walked out on them years prior. The engagement may have been fake, but it was clear that their feelings for each other weren't (despite neither of them fully realizing it).
This book has some drama caused by Maggie's bully throughout the book, a relationship that they keep saying is pretend but really isn't, and a sweet little girl that Maggie easily takes under her wing and becomes mama bear for when required!
My only criticism is that there are a few spelling errors throughout the book (not too many), and I believe there's an inconsistency near the beginning. Maggie tells Julian that his mom used to be so sweet to her, but then when they get to the family reunion, he introduces them like they had never met. So I'm unsure if that's a mistake, or perhaps I remember it wrong...
Anyway, if you're looking for a somewhat short, low-agnst, heart-warming read, this one should fit the bill!
This is quite an impressive romantic second-chance novel. Since high school, Maggie has not had it easy in life. It starts with run-ins with a bully who doesn’t leave Maggie alone. Julian is friends with Maggie in high school but they’ve never dated each other. At the 10-yr. reunion, Chloe (the bully) returns & continues upsetting Maggie. Maggie lies to Chloe saying she’s engaged to Julian, who’s nearby listening in. Being the stand-up guy, he backs her up & plays the role of fiancé. Their fake engagement proves to be stickier when they’re at his grandmother’s week-long birthday celebration & Chloe’s there also! When the truths of a few things in Maggie’s past have been revealed, everything starts to make sense. Will Julian & Maggie be able to scrape together what’s left of their friendship or will Chloe win once again in destroying everything in Maggie’s life?
This novel is an excellent page-turner with characters you can’t help but cheer them on to destroy the bully so they can move on to reaching their HEA. This single dad may not have the right words to say initially to Maggie but once his heart speaks, you’ll be swept off your feet falling in love with him.

This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.
In school Maggie was always being picked on by the mean girls or the bullies. Julian was always there to protect her and keep her safe. When Maggie goes to their class reunion once again she is picked on by the mean girls. Julian comes to her rescue. Maggie who is so frazzled blurts out that Julian is her fiancé! As they dance and talk they decide to keep the story going. Maggie will move in with him and be home to help with Piper Julian’s daughter. As they spend more and more time together Julian remembers how he felt in high school about Maggie. Was he in love then? Had he kept these feelings hidden? This is a story on discovery, reawakening and everlasting love. It is funny, passionate, hot, smoldering attraction and crazy, crazy love. For Julian it was like coming home. “Falling in love is the simplest thing in the world.” Lovable characters. Great storyline filled with emotion, tenderness and caring.

This is a must read. It is a book about healing, hope and happiness. The love that Maggie and Julian have is strong and obvious to everyone but themselves. This is their love story from high school friends to meeting again at the reunion. Their chemistry is off the charts as they fake their engagement. Confession come out as to past events are unravel from their high school days and recent trauma events. It is an action packed mystery as well as to why Maggie was bullied so badly in school by Chloe. I loved Julian’s family and Nora the warrior . The characters were so cool and real. This is also a story about Maggie and Julian’s HEA. The future is bright for them and sweet little Pip. I would give this book more than 5 stars if possible.

Accidental Fiancé is a spicy Contemporary Romance that begins for MFC Maggie Bryant while attending a high school reunion which has her coming up against the mean girls clique, and has a friend from those years coming to her rescue, as Maggie blurts out MMC Julian Black is her fiancé. They decide to keep the ruse going for the evening that ends with them spending the night together, and the attraction is firecracker hot! Single dad Julian who had been her best friend in high school had also nurtured a secret crush for Maggie, and with fate working in its mysterious ways their story becomes a steamy, humorous nicely written narrative of love and family in the modern age, with characters who shine. An excellent unintentionally yours series entry.

Really liked this second chance, fake fiance, romance between Maggie and Julian. Maggie attends her high school reunion, ugh, and runs into her old bully, Chloe, because of course, people like that have never really grown up. While Chloe is giving her a hard time, her old friend Julian comes up and surprise! Maggie announces their engagement. Julian goes along because he's a nice guy, also a Billionaire and hot.
Turns out he needs her to play the part for a family event later. They have crazy good chemistry and he was secretly in love with her in high school. A couple of weird coincidences, and Chloe comes back in their lives, with a bunny killer psycho grudge. A little far fetched, but not enough to abandon the story.
They get their HEA and I would read more stories in this series.

I truly enjoyed getting to know Maggie and Julian as I am a sucker for the "loved her since high school" stories. The characters were fun and witty and the fake engagement storyline was entertaining and made me laugh. I enjoyed the banter and side characters that rounded out the story overall. Julian was such a good father and friend that became more and it was easy to fall for him. It took a while for Maggie to get there, but even her obliviousness was pretty entertaining. My one knock is that the twist at the end seemed pretty severe and was kind of glazed over. I feel like I would be significantly more upset if I found out that type of news.
Overall I enjoyed the storyline and character plots and felt like this was a feel good read with HEA and no cheating.

This time it’s maggie and Julian’s story, friends in high school, jules had a crush on maggie and was always there for her to protect her from her bullies… the high school mean girls lead by Chloe.
Julian and maggie reconnect at their 15 year school reunion, and after being bullied by the mean girls like they’re back in high school again Maggie blurts out that she and Julian are engaged, which he plays along with. Sparks ignite and the next day he makes the absurd suggestion they continue the ruse at his upcoming family reunion, which Maggie agrees to!
The story is a sweet one of friends reconnecting and old feelings coming back to them and moving on from high school bullies. It was nice to read a story where there’s no accidental unexpected pregnancy.

How good it is to read some stories. This is one of those. It was enjoyable to read and it has a lot of twists that can both bring out tears and smiles, or first one and then the other. It has a good storyline and so good characters, both good ones as well as great villains. Of course bullying is just the ugliest form there is for children and teenagers, of course also for adults, but somehow when we think about bullying and children, no matter their age, we become angry and that is one of those feelings I also felt as well as many others. Overall I really loved this story. And am happy to give it beautiful four stars.

Accidental Fiancé is beautifully written, well balanced and amazingly executed by author Mia Mara. She continues to show me what an amazing author she is with each book that I read. Julian secretly crushed on Maggie while they were in high school and then lost touch with her. I do love that Julian and Maggie have a happily ever after with them being quite happy with them being together. Julian and Maggie are well-developed and perfectly executed throughout this amazing romance book. I would definitely recommend Accidental Fiancé to anyone who is looking for a fun romance book to read. I can’t wait to read more amazing romances from Mia Mara.

This book had more high school drama than actual high school dramas. The MCs are in their 30s and yet act like children. All the secondary characters, also acting like children. But the 4 year child? Observant and wise beyond her years - we're told anyway. We aren't shown anything except fighting between high school girls - oops, I mean adults in their 30s. And also sex. We are shown lots of sex. It seems like the author wanted to write a sex book but couldn't commit to going all-in on erotica and decided to dump this garbage on us under the guise of a romance.
Every 5 star review for this must be from a relative or friend because there is no way the average reader likes this that much.
This heartfelt story will have you in Maggie and Julian's corner. They were high school friends that shared a kiss one time. It is their high school reunion and Maggie finds herself cornered by the mean girls and to get away she tells them she and Julian are getting married, and this outburst starts their drama. Julian is floored about her admission but plays along but after spending time with Maggie once she moves in with him, will their fake relationship turn into the real thing when feelings begin to grow between them.

Accidental Fiancé: A Single Dad Fake Engagement Romance by Mia Mara had my emotions bouncing back and forth, from humor to anger, like a ping-pong ball. Julian and Maggie were such a cute and likeable couple. The things Maggie had to endure as a teen and adult, at the hands of a "Mean Gril" was heartbreaking. As an educator, I have witness the after effects of popular kids looking down on everyone else and the "Mean" high school scene. Unfortunately, some school bullies never change and continue to be bullies at adults.

This romance book you SERIOUSLY need to read and OMG it is going to take off fasting than a racehorse in the ROMANCE department. I found myself smiling at times over Maggie and Julian's story as well as saying to myself I hope their fake relationship can turn into something real. D*m I needed a HOT friend like Julian when I was in high school to crush on. :) Get ready because you are going to be doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING once you start to read this book by Mia and it is one romance read worth doing nothing but reading in my opinion.
This book has it all. From the very start when Maggie said that Hulian was her fiance, and he didn't correct her, you know that he loved her. And the night that followed, so hot!!! My heart broke a little when he tried everything to show her that he loved her but she just didn't see it. Even though she had loved him for just as love. I loved this book so much. It was such a pleasure to read. Thank you so much for letting me read it. I can't wait for the next one.

Ugh, the reality of the high school reunion scene that starts the story is painful! Mia Mara effectively and effortlessly captured every feeling of not being popular in high school and showcasing how bullies never change. She also shined a light on the best friend from high school that is so often the one that got away. It’s steamy, sexy, and has a few twists and turns of a single dad, a fake engagement, and very real feelings.

Accidental Fiancé: A Single Dad Fake Engagement Romance is book 5 in the Unintentionally Yours series written by author Mia Mara. This is Julian, his sweet little daughter Piper and Maggie second chance romance story. The story was beautifully written and full of humor, drama, secrets, lies, envy, lots of emotions, fake engagement, second chances, big family, awesome secondary characters, lots of pastries and a great finale. Really love Julian and Maggie’s story, two high school friends who kept their feelings from each other. They reconnected and began talking, he was a single dad, whose wife left him and his daughter. Maggie had lost her business to a fire and was trying to navigate her life, trying to deal with what happened and also having to deal with a very mean woman. After everything they went through I am so glad they finally got their happy ever ending. So good I read it in one day!
I loved the highschool reunion and grandmother's birthday party for the setting. It had great drama and past secrets that suck you in. Maggie's highschool bully was a piece of work. Julian was so sweet and caring. There passion was off the charts! The insecurities was a little off putting but then end made up for it and it all came together and made sense. Another amazing book by Mia Mara!

Loved Julian and Maggie. These two have history and their high school reunion brings them full circle. Their story is fun, sexy, steamy and a lovely little girl Piper. High school crush turns into fake fiance turn real with misunderstandings and feelings Maggie isn’t sure what to do with. It was all supposed to be fake and now it feels all too real, which begs the question does Julian feel the same? Another great addition to this series that I found on BookSprout.
Loved it! Maggie and Julian made a good fake couple but they were a great real couple. Love books where he falls first, and Julian had probably loved her since high school. Chloe was truly awful and I hope she gets what she deserves! Piper was just the cutest, and Yaya was awesome!.

Good pacing. Solid writing, and a good chunk was spent showing their lives after they achieve their HEA.
Good to read as a standalone, since it's not connected to the previous stories and it is a cute happy ending that's enjoyable in its predictability, which is what you want from a romance novel.
Accidental Fiancé: A Single Dad Fake Engagement Romance by Mia Mara was so good! Maggie and Julian's story will have you hooked from page one. The storyline has twists and turns, lots of drama and of course romance. Mia Mara has become one of my favorite authors and Accidental Fiancé is one of the reasons why.

I haven't read this yet- I downloaded it due to the beautiful man on the cover and I will never exchange this for another on KU. If the book gives as much pleasure, I will be grateful. Thank you. Where do you writers find these men?? I have been looking most of my 78 years and never came across one!
