A Simple Explanation of Al-Quran is a remarkable addition to the efforts and endeavours towards understanding and explaining the Holy Quran but with a difference.
Al-Quran specifically focuses the attention of the reader by illuminating the images, scenes and sound effects produced on the hearts and minds. The original author termed this effect as “The Principle of Acoustic Imagery.” This modified edition has reaffirmed this impression as the key methodology in approaching Al-Quran. Simple, common and easy to understand English is also the hallmark of this explanation. And since it is primarily meant for student community, it has mostly avoided the details found in other Tafaaseer (commentaries) that are meant for scholars, intellectuals and researchers.
Rather, it has almost exclusively stuck to the “words” of the Surahs and elaborated the message contained in them. It is also distinguished for its logic which binds aayaat contained in one Surah to its central message, and all the messages of the Surahs to one another in a beautiful coherence along with their summaries and questions for the readers to pursue. It includes the Quranic interpretation learnt by the students of Sānwi Darsgah, which both authors attended.
