Aus der Reihe "Was zur Hölle habe ich gerade gelesen?": Ich wollte für eine lange Autofahrt etwas leichtes, profanes, hoffentlich witziges Buch, bei dem es auch einmal nicht schlimm ist, wenn man nicht alles mitbekommt.
Inhalt: Man stelle sich vor, ein 14-Jähriger Mormone mit den Hobbys zocken (Mine Craft und Farming Simulator) und einer altersgemäßen Menge Hormone, aber ebenso altersgemäßen Erfahrungen mit dem anderen Geschlecht, aber ausgeprägtem Breeding Kink und Lust auf magische Uwu-Frauen-Tier-Mischwesen schreibt eine Geschichte von jemandem, der in ein magisches Fantasieland fährt, bei dem alles wirkt wie ein idealisiertes Computerspiel.
Es liest sich, als würde man diesem Jungen beim Zocken über die Schulter schauen. Einschließlich, und das ist besonders nervig, dem Vorlesen aller Systemmeldungen. Außerdem hat er das gesamte Spiel auf "Extra superleicht" eingestellt, wodurch es quasi keine Heldenreise, keinen Widerstand, keine Herausforderung oder ähnliches gibt. Es fällt ihm einfach alles magisch in den - no pun intended - Schoß. Die Sexszenen sind so vanilla und mangaartig oberflächlich, dass man es mit gutem Gewissen als den Bruder mit hypoxischem Hirnschaden von aktuellen Romance/Smut-Romanen bezeichnen könnte. Erwachsene Gesichtspunkte wie Selbstbestimmung, Konsens, Diskurs entgehen dem zumindest sehr langen Werk völlig. Alle wollen immer und das passiert auch.
Schreibstil: North ist gut darin, Umgebungen und Szenen zu beschreiben, hat aber keine Ahnung, wie sich Menschen verhalten, was sie sagen oder wie sie reagieren.
Ich habe das Hörbuch gehört. Wirklich auf beeindruckende Art und Weise herausragend ist die Sprecherin. Sie liest wirklich jede noch so absurde Szene mit wirklich respektabler Hingabe, als wäre es das normalste der Welt. Sie ist der einzige Grund, warum ich mich gezwungen habe, es zu Ende zu hören.
Ich habe mich während des Hörens mehrfach die Frage gestellt, ob das das Werk einer KI sein kann. Ich glaube aber, dass eine KI etwas besseres erschaffen hätte. Es ist nicht alles schlecht, aber ich wünsche mir ein wenig, ich hätte stattdessen einfach einen Scheibenwelt-Roman heruntergeladen.

This is a very, very silly book.
The world building and initial premise is great; it's a slightly novel world and a pretty well done LitRPG system. The protagonist is also quite good; I have an allergy to bland, generic protagonists, and the protagonist here has character and a backstory.
The opening of the book is quite good too. And while it straddles the divide between being a fantasy book with explicit sex scenes and just some porn with plot, both the plot and the sex scenes are pretty good, so it's fine.
...unfortunately about halfway through it's like the author started to get bored, and events stop being really justified. The book climaxes

This was very spicy and fun to read. Unfortunately it was pretty self-righteous and preachy at times ("I have to take down the local asshole!") and it killed the tone a little. It does also rush along at Mach Jesus. Dude's been in town for like a month, got three pregnant partners and already proposed to the mayor's daughter, revitalized the economy, and caused the death of the local robber baron.
I will also say for my own taste, when the MC suddenly started saying he was going to get the laws changed so he could also marry his demi-human partners it kinda killed the vibe for me. I think a lot of these fantasy harem books focus too much on marriage. I was set up to be a nice partnership with the one marriage for legal reasons but then "no, we must change the law!" but it doesn't like fit the vibe. The MC and the demi-humans are allegedly going to live forever and never age. There's not much to indicate that they'd stay together all that time. In fact, it indicates the opposite with all of the beast girls being half wild. The human wife is going to age and die long before the rest (I'm sure this will be "fixed" in a later book through deus es bullshit). Anyway yeah it's trashy horny fantasy and not that deep but I'll be damned if I give anything a pass, trashy or not.
Not sure if I'll read the rest of the series. Skim it maybe.

Wonderful Story
Very nice story, where the MC is kind, treating the demi beasts and humans with respect. He's rewarded with a loyal group of Group lots of hot sex and begins to change the attitudes of humans, well except for one Evil SOB that gets what he deserves!

Super fun read.
A casual fun read. Doesn’t break any new territory but it is well written and edited. Fun characters. And certainly a lot of good spicy scenes, probably some of the best in this genre.

a bit heavy on the adult scenes, but a new plot and good written

Es ist ein bisschen wie ein Unfall gewesen: man möchte nicht gucken, aber man kann auch nicht ganz weggucken.
Wenn man das ganze Porno/Sexgerammel weg lässt, ist der Rest der Geschichte ok. Es ist auf jeden Fall ein interessanter Ansatz und lässt mich über meine Vorstellung über den "Himmel" nachdenken. (Nein, nicht wegen dem ganzen Sex!) Ich gebe dem ganzen 3 von 5 Sternen, weil mich zum Schluss das ganze Gerammel genervt hat und ich kurz davor war, abzubrechen. Ob es sich lohnt, das Buch zu lesen, muss jeder selbst wissen. Es ist meiner Meinung nach nicht komplett verschwendete Lebenszeit. Da hab ich schon schlimmere Storys gelesen.
