பல சுவாரஸ்ய சம்பவங்கள் அரங்கேற, கதையின் தலைப்பே சொல்வது போல ஒரு ரயிலில், ஒரு ராத்திரியில் நடந்து முடியும் கதை.

About the author

Sujatha was the allonym of the Tamil author S. Rangarajan, Author of over 100 novels, 250 short stories, ten books on science, ten stage plays, and a slim volume of poems. He was one of the most popular authors in Tamil literature, and a regular contributor to topical columns in Tamil periodicals such as Ananda Vikatan, Kumudam and Kalki. He had a wide readership, and served for a brief period as the editor of Kumudam, and has also written screenplays and dialogues for several Tamil movies.

As an engineer, he supervised the design and production of the electronic voting machine (EVM) during his tenure at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a machine which is currently used in elections throughout India. As an author he inspired many authors, including Balakumaran, Madhan.

A Swamiji is travelling to attend a function in train. He has provided a security guard from Internal affairs. During travelling, Swamiji tells to guard that he will meet his future partner in this train whose name start with 2nd letter of alphabet. By coincidence he meets a woman (His friend's sister. His friend was killed in a riot). With surprise and excitement, he took her to Swamiji and get blessed and married by putting ring. She worries about her brother's death and swami lectures about after-life, soul has no death etc..

PLOT TWIST

She replies him "If its true that Soul has no death, make sure you meet my brother in heaven" and thereby shoots him with a gun from her bag (Revenge, as his brother got killed in the violence riot rose from a public meeting actually arranged by Swamiji.)

Oh swamiji RIP!.

I've been reading Sujatha ever since I remember and this man never fails to amaze me!
It is pretty cool to see his mastery when it comes to spinning short stories with a twist at times when you least expect it.
