Diamond: Alien Hunting Grounds Book 4

Violence is never the answer… until it is.Rin
Brutality has been the cage surrounding me for most of my life. Each regime comes and goes, but the goal remains the same. To take our voices. Our education. Our freedom.

Now this alien says he plans to confine me. No. This is a new world, and I refuse to live the same oppressive way light years from Earth. His actions let me know he doesn't just embrace violence, he loves it, and I just can't accept that. Or him.

Kuret
How will I protect her? How can I fulfill my promise if she says one more act of aggression, and she will leave me?

The moment I see her, I can't keep images out of my head of how her white hair would look against my skin. But it cannot be. She is far too young for a donor, and I can't be the cause of her death. I would never forgive myself.

It shouldn't matter if she can't forgive me for what I did when we first met. It's not as if males and females can be friends… or more… but hope simply won't die.

Books in this series end in a HFN. They can be read alone, but it will take all of the women and their mates to fight for their collective HEA. It will be more enjoyable if read in sequence.

Love is love, regardless of gender or species, which means not all relationships in this series are M/F.

This series is meant for readers 18+ and includes explicit content and violence, with dark themes. Beware of triggers.

Like the rest of this series, I'm amazed by the character building. These two struggle with some vast differences, mostly cultural. There are language barriers and size differences. While she takes a long time to trust him, she realizes she loves him. He is so concerned about his worlds honor that he almost misses what is important. She teaches him, and he protects her.
As always, Kyla gives a great story with excellent writing, i was fully immersed. Be warned they may find a happiness at the end but this isnt an HEA, this book ends in a shocking cliffhanger.
I cannot get enough of this series!!!!!

Rin's continued protesting against the oppression of women in her home country has exposed her to violence and ridicule. When she wakes up on a strange planet, she quickly discovers that she hasn't escaped the violence she experienced at home. Can she trust the strange alien who swears he is there to protect her? Or will she become a victim of his vicious actions?

Diamond is the fourth book in the Alien Hunting Grounds series. In it, we follow Kuret, one of the aliens initially tasked by Ree to search for and rescue any humans in the first book of the series. He is a guardian from a culture in which the females live separately from the men, and protecting females is considered to be an honor. Unfortunately, when he initially finds and saves Rin from a dangerous attack, his counter-attack is so vicious that Rin is terrified of him. While Rin warily accepts his protection, she gives him some ultimatums of her own. As the two travel and face the planet's dangers together, they learn to appreciate each other.

The most interesting thing in this story is the exploration of two cultures that seem similar at first glance, but have almost diametrically different values. It's a fascinating concept, but it creates multiple instances of miscommunication in which neither character realizes miscommunication is occurring. Regrettably, Rin's continued belligerence and disinterest in exploring Kuret's differences made for some repetitive conversations, which detracted from the overall story, though it was still a good read.

An interesting addition to the series, with a unique perspective on culture's role on communication.

Diamond is book four of the Alien Hunting Grounds with more adventure amongst the abducted aliens stranded there as prey for hunters.

This book follows Nasrin one of the human woman whose pod crashed on the hunter planet, and Kuret one of the species abducted from his home world. He rescues her from certain death and becomes her protector even as his violence against their shared enemy offends her.

Culture clashes are uppermost with these two but it will soon turn into much more as attraction blooms between them.

I enjoyed this newest entry that is filled with plenty of action, danger, intrigue, passion, and surprises.

The writing is immersive and the characters well crafted, and set within a storyline that is fast paced and always intense.

This entire series has done a very good job at capturing differences between the women who end up crash landed on this planet and the males stolen to be hunted. Though I think this pairing may have had the hardest time of it.

Nasrin is from a society where women have to fight for their rights everyday. And those who go against that status quo are dealt with in horrific ways.

Kuret on the other hand has literally dedicated his life to protecting where there women and children are kept. It was interesting to see these two interact. Especially with their different beliefs on violence. But I loved the spice and I loved how they came together.

Especially him worrying she would die once they had sex. That was honestly my favorite conversation.

Another great addition to the series! I loved Rin. Coming from a very difficult background, she really struggled with the thought of violence but eventually had to concede to the truth that on this planet, it's kill or be killed.

This series deals a lot with cultural differences. The aliens are truly "alien", not just in looks but in thinking, and it makes for many interesting situations. Kuret's fear that having smex with Rin would cause her death because their females always die in childbirth would be almost comedic to us, yet it was extremely real to him (and well portrayed by he author).

I loved how Kuret and Rin slowly overcame their differences and found common ground. Also LOVE the alien sidekick!

Can't wait for the next book!

Back into the sci fi world of reading and another in this series by this author, being book four. This is Rin and Kuret's tale. If you've read the previous books, you will know the general themes that these characters lives revolve around. but they do get their much-deserved happy ending.

I love the diversity Kyla writes into each book. How different all the character are and show so many different aspects of life.

I loved getting to see the main characters and their development, but also getting past characters coming back and seeing everyone interact together.

This book definitely touches on quite a few sensitive topics, so be sure to check triggers!

Yes!! Another amazing edition to this series. The author never disappoints! This one is by far the toughest. The political mess and cultural differences are a real struggle but they finally find common ground.

I recommend book 1, 2, and 3.

I did not like the heroine. I also did not like the hero.

The heroine is from Afghanistan. She talks a lot about how she was oppressed. She complains and whines about how she hates violence. She hates guns. She hates this and that. Whine, whine.

The hero is always talking about his honor or how he lost his honor. On his planet, females live separate from males. Females usually die during child birth.

So the hero is constantly upsetting the heroine by trying to protect her and keep her safe.

Both of them were exhausting.

Eventually the heroine agrees they can defend themselves by being violent toward attackers.

Oh, the heroine also complained about Americans and how entitled they are. It felt political. I just wanted to read a romance novel with aliens.

I liked the earlier 3 books and recommend the earlier books.

Interesting 4th book in the series. I especially enjoy seeing which traits transfer. It does leave a little cliffhanger. Makes me curious for the next story and human.

Review- Liked it. The pacing was better in this book than in the last few. I think because so many characters are introduced throughout. The FMC is Muslim, and from a country that forces stringent religious practices on the women. So I wasn’t entirely sure how the author was going to tie that into the style of books these are. I think she did a good job. The MMC comes from a culture that separates males from the females for different reasons ands the parallels and differences play well throughout the book.
