From the first moment I came across Hallee Bridgeman's books I was blessed, each and every time she writes such stunning emotionally packed reads that tears my soul to shreds and then so beautifully puts me back together again.

In the third book from the Song of Suspense series she had done it once again! The read tells of Carol, she is the Assistant Commonwealth Attorney, and single mom ! And yes just like the life of any other single mom out there she is super busy and has no time to mess around with anything other than raising her daughter and doing her job.

But with the grace of God she gets through each day just fine, that is until her daughter's father comes back into her life. Now most single mom's will tell you that the father of your child making a come back after a one night stand left you alone and pregnant and saw him taking off, is the stuff nightmares are made off.

You want to be angry and hurt, but know that it will only show him getting the better of you. The case in this read could not be further from the everyday scenario. Bobby Kent aka suddenly dad to a child he never knew about is just as confused and thrown for a loop as Carol is. Can they sort through the secrets and lies that landed them in the current situation? And can Carol escape the serial killer out to get her?

From the first page right through to the end I was spellbound by this read. The author takes a everyday situation and turns it into a mesmerizing, I can't stop reading, mind blowing reading experience.

I adored the characters and fell in love with them all, except our killer of course. Now Mr I 'll make you suffer before I kill you was something else. The guy was all kind of pure nastiness that had my skin crawling and looking behind me every couple of minutes. The author created the perfect killer with raw intensity and I could feel his rage and devious mind seeping through the pages.

The love story between Carol and Bobby was so very beautiful and showed how God let's everything work out at just the right moment in time. I highly recommend this read for all fans of reading. This one author's books that will change your life, even if you aren't a fan of reading believe me you want to no, you must read her books! Just as me you will feel blessed and be in awe of her writing.

Hallee Bridgeman's A Carol for Kent is a well thought out hum dinger of a murder mystery, with betrayal, love, hurt and forgiveness. Carol has hated the father of her child. His parents informed her that Bobby wanted nothing to do with her or their child, Lisa. Nothing could be farther from the truth! Now Bobby is back in town determined to get to know his daughter. Meanwhile, Carol is on the trail of a serial killer. Just as her professional life heats up, so does her personal life.
Bridgeman has done an excellent job of character development, the plot is fast moving and draws one into the story. There are some plot twists and visits from characters in her previous books.A Carol for Kent would make a great beach read, but not for a dark and rainy night!
I was given this book by the Author for review purposes, but the opinions are strictly my own.

I stayed up WAY too late reading this book, but it was so worth it! This series just gets better and better! I really liked Bobby Kent when he was introduced in A MELODY FOR JAMES, and Carol was a great friend to Aria in AN ARIA FOR NICK, so it was wonderful to see their story unfold. The murder mystery in this book was very well done, but the biggest impact the book had on me was the spiritual message of forgiveness. Hallee Bridgeman is never heavy-handed or "preachy" in her writing and this book is no exception. Both Bobby and Carol have been lied to regarding a very significant truth for almost ten years. Neither of these characters comes to forgiveness quickly or easily, but because they are both Christians, they realize they have to try to find a way to forgive, for their own sakes, if not for the ones they must forgive. They acknowledge that forgiveness is the right thing but that it is difficult to move past the hurt and anger. In large part this is one of the reasons why I love Mrs. Bridgeman's writing so much, these characters don't seem like characters at all but real people that I could meet somewhere. Their hurts and hopes and fears are very real. When they pray, their problems don't magically disappear, but God answers them with strength to make it through the situation and guidance to direct their choices.

What a read!!! Murder, thrills & chills with unexpected twist &
turns!!! These are mixed with family deceit, betrayal and greed.
The mixture also contains forgiveness, faith, friendship, love
and trust.
The book totters between the present and past. This makes the
mystery explainable to the reader while allowing them to learn
the truth about each character. The author knows how to tell a
story that keeps you glued to the pages trying to figure out the
serial killer. The characters are well defined and very realistic.
Carol Mabry, Assistant Commonwealth Attorney is the head
investigator in tracking down a serial killer dubbed Richmond
Red. At the same time the father of her child, Bobby Kent
arrives home after years on tour. Bobby is a big rock star who
has no knowledge of his child, Lisa. His parents have kept the
fact that he has a daughter from him. Both Carol & Bobby have
their own lives which have been separate for eight years.
Will Carol be able to break free from the serial killer? Will the
real identity of Richmond Red be revealed? Will Bobby & Carol
be able to overcome the daily obstacles found in everyday life?
This is the third book in the Song of Suspense series. It can be
read as a stand alone book.
Thank you to book fun.org for this book. My opinion is my own.

Giving love a chance
This is the next installment in Ms. Bridgeman’s Song of Suspense series. There will be familiar characters throughout the story and the style is similar to the other books, but each story in this series can easily stand alone. The author doesn’t disappoint her faithful readers, as this story is rich in characters, attention to detail with facts, and a wonderful blend of romance and suspense. I love watching the characters learn to lean more on their faith as the story progresses. It is a good reminder that even though you might already have a strong faith, life has a way of testing us all to grow even more. It is a “feel good” story that keeps you guessing as you try to solve the mystery. There are twists and turns along the way, so don’t be too quick to think you figured it out! This author always has characters that draw you into their lives, cheering for the good times and holding your breath during the many suspenseful moments. I recommend this book (and author) to anyone that enjoys a good suspense, but be sure to give it a try even if you don’t usually read this genre. I look forward to more books from this author. I received this book from BookFun.org and the author in exchange for my honest review.

A Carol for Kent (Song of Suspense #3) by Hallee Bridgeman
Have read the other book sin the series, they can be read as stand alone also.
Am familiar with the characters and we find out more about Carol, a single mother and the childs grandparents love having the little girl visit.
They lied to her and their own son about the child and 8 years later when he came home they were having a birthday party for her. Neither had no idea what had happened.
She was told their son didn't want to have anything to do with her and the child.
As they get to know one another and he Bobby Kent gets over his anger with his parents with the help of others and God, always praying to forgive.
He ends up buying a house next door to her so he'll be able to see her grow up and he's remembering what he saw in Carol back in college.
He is now a country western singer and Carol is an investigative murder lawyer. The town has suffered the loss of over 5 women and the night she realizes her life is in jeopardy she sends Bobby and her daughter and she'll be the bait.
With the storm things don't go as planned. one of the detectives on her case is sent away and the other one wants to molest her. Her friend comes to her rescue but we soon learn she wasn't there to rescue her at all.
Plays like a simple love story but with twists or scary parts as the murderer gets closer to killing her. Other characters from the authors other works also come into play for brief moments.
Love this series because it's out of my comfort zone and I am learning so much by reading them.
Can't wait to read the others in this series and hope they continue.

Had I known this was an inspirational I would not have read it because in my experience, they are much too preachy. Also, I don't have a lot of respect for the Americanized version of Christianity which most of the inspirationals I've read have espoused. The other thing is that it is about a country singer and I loathe country music. I despise it.

I also received this free, somehow having signed up for this author's newsletter. What interested me was the mystery and it's not a very good one as I readily guessed it

Apparently, this is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. The author really needs to work on character development. Won't be reading anything by this author again.

A totally different kind of suspense than book two but still so good!!

This reminded me more of the action/suspense I usually read, with a mystery and a race to catch someone before they act again. I definitely was kept guessing and the twists were very surprising.

I’m loving how intertwined the past characters are in each consecutive story. Bobby and Carol we have met before and I liked Bobby especially but I really liked getting to know them better. This is a sort of reconciliation and forgiveness and leaning how to move forward because that’s all you can do.

Content warning: crime scenes of murder and an attempted rape

This one could probably be 18+.

An unfolding mystery of a young female attorney involved in the quest to discover and stop the spree of a serial killer, while also being challenged to face her own challenging past. Carol, an attorney assigned to unravel and intercept the killer also has her own personal demons of the past to unravel . A single mother, and a driven professional Carol finds herself face to face with the famous, but absent and supposedly uninterested father of her daughter. This novel is full of unforeseen twists and turns. A good, clean read that deals with human weakness, darkness and forgiveness.

Great clean, Christian Suspense Romance

This was a wonderful story. Lots going on--serial killer and romance. I thought I knew who the serial killer was but was wrong. I loved how the author kept me guessing. I loved Carol and Bobby's story very much. And th fact that the author included a Christian element. I could fell Bobby's anger and loved that he could work it out and let God take control. I look forward to reading more by this wonderful author.

This is a thriller murder mystery. It kept me hyper thorough out the book. Carol is the detective responsible for putting the clues together to see who is murdering all the women. It is also about a family with secrets & lies that need forgiveness! Forgiveness is never an easy road & takes time to accomplish.

This was a really good book. I loved the romantic storyline and liked the mystery storyline. I will say that the mystery/suspense storyline borderline creeped me out a little. I like suspense, but I also sometimes scare easily and it was one of those books for me that I couldn't read at night. Still enjoyed the book though.

I didn't enjoy this story as much as the first 2 books. This one is a little darker to me because I couldn't figure out the reason for the comments he made between the killings. Turns out he is mentally disturbed. But there is something else sinister going on that proved to be a real shock at the end.

A great love story

I semi-enjoyed this novel. I'm not a fan of Christian books and I can't see how quoting bible tracts or talking about prayers adds to the story at all. I'm fact, I skipped all the religious parts.

Fantastic book!! Suspenseful, because Richmond Red is out there watching and stalking them. Sorrowful anger, because I can’t believe parents would do such a thing to their own son, granddaughter, and her mother. Sweet, because of the romance and forgiveness of Carol and Kent. It’s an all around wonderful story with great characters. Again…fantastic book!

Another Hallee Bridgeman book for the keeper shelf!
A Carol for Kent is the third book in Hallee Bridgeman’s Song of Suspense series. I was extremely excited to read this one, after reading the first two and I can happily say it was great! Mrs. Bridgeman’s books just keep getting better!
While this is technically book three, you don’t have to read them in order. I would suggest it if possible, because they are all great and you would already know all the reoccurring characters. But, if you can’t or don’t want to, then it’s not a big deal. The plots don’t overlap and there are no cliffhangers that require an explanation.
As always, Halle does an excellent job with the descriptions and details. It’s obvious she put a lot of time and research into this story and I really enjoyed all the little nuances I learned. The plot was also very interesting. This is one of the few mysteries that was able to keep me guessing throughout the book. I had to fight the urge to flip to the end and find out “whodunit” - it was driving me nuts, not knowing!
Carol Mabry is a great heroine and I quickly fell in love with her character. She is An Assistant Commonwealth Attorney, but while that is her job, it isn’t who she is. She’s a Christian, a mother, and a friend. She is strong, kind, loving, and at times, stubborn. I appreciated how she was able to leave her work behind and focus on her daughter, Lisa. She is the kind of lady that you admire for her strength, but more so for her transparency and ability to be vulnerable. I loved how easily I could connect with her, though I have nothing in common with her.
Bobby Kent is an interesting hero. He is a bit the typical hero in that he is strong, stubborn, but also kind and loving. But that’s where the comparisons end. He is famous and very wealthy, but that doesn’t really go to his head. While he has enough money to purchase whatever he desires, the only thing he can’t get is what he longs for the most: the time he lost with his daughter. What most impressed me about Bobby? How real he is. He gets angry, loses his temper, struggles to forgive, but he also desires to follow Christ and live a life honoring Him.
I also really enjoyed Carol and Bobby’s relationship. While they obviously knew each other in the past, that actually didn’t play into it that much. Carol had spent the past 8 years loathing Bobby (her words, not mine), but when she learns that he was lied to as well, she quickly lets go of her anger. As they reconnect and get to know each other again, they find that the love they shared years ago has changed. They aren’t the same people they were before, they’ve grown and life has changed them. I really liked the honesty in their relationship. They have both been lied to, so trust and honesty is very important to them.
Hallee did a great job with the mystery! As I already mentioned, it kept me guessing until the very end. I had suspects, but wasn’t entirely sure and it twisted and turned so much that just as I thought I might know who it was, something else would happen and mess up that theory. I was still partially wrong in the end, though I wasn’t terribly upset about that. I was too busy being impressed with the complexity of it all and how she managed to bring everything back together again. I have to confess, I found the entries from the killer a little disturbing, but that was undoubtedly intentional. The killer was creepy, so it stands to reason that anything from their point of view would be too.
I love how much importance was placed on God in this story. One of the main spiritual themes is forgiveness, which both Bobby and Carol struggle with after being deceived for years. The reality in their emotions and reactions really touched my heart. The subject wasn’t glossed over or portrayed to be easier than it actually is. I love this quote, “Father God, I pray that You help me release the anger clutching my heart and taking over my mind. Help me to be Christ-like in all things, including this thing. Amen.” - Bobby Kent, page 138 I think it sums up quite well what the characters were facing and struggling with, but also how they handled it.
You’ll notice this review has five stars, a rarity for me. When I went to rate it, I couldn’t think of a single thing I didn’t like. There wasn’t anything I could nitpick or comment about, so five stars seems appropriate.
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy mystery, suspense, and wonderfully realistic characters!
I received a complementary copy of this book from the author, through The Book Club Network, for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is my third Hallee Bridgeman book, and probably my least favorite so far (the other two are books one and two in this series). Don't get me wrong - I'm still giving A Carol for Kent 4 stars, because the writing is fantastic and I devoured the whole book in one evening. But the characters fell a little flat for me. I didn't feel the chemistry between Carol and Bobby like I did with Aria and Nick or Melody and James. Although - full disclosure - it honestly might have something to do with the names. I despise the name Carol. And Bobby isn't much better. Even her daughter's name: Lisa. What woman of childbearing age past the year 2003 names their child Lisa? Bridgeman obviously has very different tastes than I do. I've noticed that in all her descriptions of clothing and furnishings and apparently even characters' names throughout her books.

I predicted who the killer was from almost the beginning, but the story was good enough that I kept going to see how it would play out.

I never buy books because I'm Dutch and am a big believer in the library. But book 4 of this series is not in circulation at my library, so there's a good chance I'll shell out the big bucks to buy it myself. If that's not a glowing endorsement of Bridgeman's work, I don't know what is!

Suspense with a Message...

Hallee Bridgeman's A CAROL FOR KENT takes the reader in brief snatches inside the mind of a serial killer, and we can see the stage being set for several young women to have their lives methodically wiped out. It is up to Carol Mabry, assistant D.A. of Virginia, to figure out who this deranged psychopath is and how to stop the killing spree he has begun.

That's just Carol's professional life. Her personal life is in tatters as she has just discovered the father of her eight year old child had no knowledge of his daughter. To further complicate life, said father, Bobby Kent, is rich and famous, which invades both her personal and professional privacy needs.

The past threatens the present and the future. How will Bobby figure into, if at all, Carol and her daughter, Lisa's lives? Will Carol forgive Bobby for eight years of absence? Will either or both Carol and Bobby be able to forgive his parents for their deception? What about the killer's past...will it cause him to snuff out Carol's present before she can start a future?

This book was very suspenseful and intriguing. It certainly stood well by itself, but it also is nice if the reader has read all (or in my case, one)of the other novels of the series. Forgiveness is the major theme of this book. Bobby talks to his pastor, who reminds the superstar he needs to forgive his parents. "The truth is, you don't have to accept them. You don't have to pretend they were right, and don't have to condone their sin. But you have to forgive, and you have to honor. The price for their sin should not be your soul." Don't we all struggle with forgiveness many times in our lives, on many different levels. Only God can help us forgive what we as humans feel is unforgivable.

With discussion questions, recipes, and excerpts from Hallee's other books, the reader gets to stay in the story a bit longer until the daze wears off.

I received this book from bookfun.org in exchange for an honest review.

This is the third in the Song of Suspense series, and I think this would be fine as a stand-alone. However, reference is made to characters and events in earlier books, and the reader just has to try to deduce the backstories. I would definitely recommend getting and reading the first two in the series to fully enjoy the way the author has woven together the separate stories so that old friends from the MELODY FOR JAMES and ARIA FOR NICK return to enrich this book’s storyline.

The author has created a great sense of menace, and tension builds as the story processes. A serial killer is pursued, and it appears the victims all resemble Carol, the heroine. We get a glimpse of the killer’s sick mind through journal entries in which the ramblings of insanity add chill and horror. There are enough plot twists to keep the reader guessing until the end as danger and the body count rise.

The frustration and struggles of the law enforcement representatives in understanding and finding the killer alternate with sweet family moments among the main characters. Lisa is a delightful child character, and Bobby and Carol are likeable folks who live their Christian faith while dealing with real-world problems. Bobby and Carol have been separated for almost nine years because of the lies of Lisa’s grandparents, which were only made worse by their attempts to justify their actions. It was heart-warming to observe the relationships develop between Bobby and Carol and Bobby and Lisa as they move forward to life together rather than dwelling on the what ifs and if onlys.

This book has a lot to say about God’s perfect timing and the need for forgiveness. I so appreciate good suspense stories with well-developed, very human characters and no vulgarity. I highly recommend this book for lovers of mystery with a believable Christian witness. I received this book through The Book Club Network, but the opinions expressed are solely mine.

This is a story you won't want to put down. I read it in a little over a day. Hallee Bridgeman is a gifted and talented writer of suspense and romance fiction novels that grab your interest from the very first page. The main characters in all of the books are strong and well developed so much that you will fall in love with each one. This is the third book in the Song of Suspense series. I am so glad to have had the chance to read the first three books and can't wait to read the next one. If you have not read the first two books this one can be read as a stand alone. She has combined intrigue, mystery and suspense with a wonderful love story, faith and forgiveness.
Carol is an assistant commonwealth attorney and is investigating the murders of several women by a serial killer. She has an eight year old daughter Lisa that she has raised by herself. Her strength is her faith in God. Bobby Kent is a famous country music star who new Carol in college. He has recently returned home unexpectedly after eight years. What a surprise awaits him. He discovers he has a daughter and is angry that his parents deceived him by not letting him know he is Lisa's father. He is a christian but is struggling as to how he could ever forgive his parents. The serial killer has a strange way of performing the murders on unsuspecting women. Carol is stressed and confused about the killings and how to find the murderer. She feels she is missing something important until she finally realizes the connection and real motive behind the murders. I loved how the relationship between Carol, Bobby and Lisa progressed. I thought sure I had figured out who the killer was and the motive behind the murders but was totally surprised that I had picked the wrong person. An amazing and unpredictable ending.
A must read. I highly recommend this book.
Love the recipes and previews.

I received a copy of this book from bookfun.org for my honest opinion and review.

A Carol for Kent, Part 3 of the Song of Suspense series by Hallee Bridgeman
ISBN 9781939603272
Suspense, Romance, Christian Fiction
Now this was a great book. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. I really enjoyed the characters especially main character Carol Mabry. She had faith and a strong upstanding personality. She had a child out of wedlock and was told the father wanted nothing to do with her child. She put everything she had into giving her daughter a well rounded life and worked hard to provide for her. Bobby Kent the male main character was someone you could look up to. He had it all, rich’s and fame but didn’t let it deflect from his high moral standings. His faith was strong and he was a living testimony to Christ working in his life. He fathered a child and knew nothing about her for eight years but stepped up to the plate as soon as he found her. Together Carol and Bobby struggle to deal with the deception they have faced and test the waters to see if they have a future together.
The author Hallee Bridgeman did an outstanding job bringing the characters to life and filling them with a strong faith and high morals. I loved toward the end of the book where she made references to the Book of Mark when Christ cast out a legion of demons into the herd of pigs. I had to an take another look at this and wondered if demons are the real cause to the worlds evils. She really make me look at things in a slightly different way. I highly recommend A Carol for Kent, it is defiantly 5 star worthy. If you have not read A Melody for James or An Aria for Nick, I suggest you check them out they are fantastic books also.
I want to thank the author Hallee Bridgeman and publisher Olivia Kimbrell Press for bringing compelling Christian books that are entertaining and give hope to the reader with stories of faith. I would also like to thank The Book Club Network Inc. for providing me with this book in exchange for my honest review.

Nine years ago, Carol Mabry was in college and in love with Bobby Kent. In a brief moment of passion, a baby was conceived, but Bobby never knew about the baby because his parents told Carol that he was not interested in being a father. Bobby had left town to pursue a career in Nashville and now he is one of country music’s hottest stars. Carol has also gone on with her life, finishing law school, becoming an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney for the state of Virginia, and raising Lisa alone. Now Bobby makes a surprise visit to his parents’ home in the middle of their only granddaughter’s birthday party. He quickly learns of his parents’ deception. Bobby has given his life to the Lord and wants to become a father to Lisa. Can he forgive his parents for this unforgivable act? Might his love for Lisa lead to a more permanent role in his daughter’s life?
The other plot that is taking place involved Carol’s role as a Commonwealth Attorney. There is a series of murders. They are all young, seemingly professional women - all with the same appearance at their death - young, tall, stylish, and red-headed. Can Carol put a stop to this murder spree before more young women are killed or before the killer strikes too close to home.
I really enjoyed the lovely romance. It was sweet and moved along nicely. The murder mystery was quite a surprise. It was a little bit of a stretch for me, but still interesting. This is the third book in the Song of Suspense series. Although, the main characters from the other books are together at the end of this story, the reader does not have to have read the previous books to enjoy this one.
I received this book from the Book Club Network.

A Carol for Kent is the third in the Song of Suspense Series. I have had the pleasure of reading two of the series. Each book can be read as a stand alone but with the reoccurrence of some characters, it may be easier to follow by reading them in order. Of course once you read one, you will want to read them all.

Carol Mabry is pulled into an investigation which she wants no part of. Richmond Red is a serial killer with an agenda. What is the agenda? What is the end game? Carol must try to get into the mind of this killer before he strikes again. There is a connection but will she be able to make it? Interspersed with this investigation, Carol must come to terms with a past that she hoped to have left there. Will she be able to forgive? Will she be able to accept this new twist in her life? As the clock ticks, Carol feels the pressure.

Country music superstar Bobby Kent left many years ago and didn't look back. But after all this grueling time, he decides that he needs a break. Returning home, Bobby finds that the two people he trusted most in his life have never told him a little secret. He is a father to Lisa. Will Carol be able to accept Bobby into Lisa's life? Will she accept him back into her life as well? Realizing the mistake he made all those years ago, Bobby watches as Carol is spiraling with this investigation. He needs to keep her safe in order to do the right thing.

Hallee Bridgeman does a wonderful job of telling this story. One can see that she puts a lot of time into her research and development of both the plot and the characters. I will be looking forward to reading the other two novels in the series.

I have loved every one of Hallee Bridgeman’s books that I have read and A Carol for Kent is no exception! It is book three in the Song of Suspense series and is packed with interesting characters that feel so “real” to me and a suspenseful story line that kept me guessing till the end.

I love the romantic set up in this story. Carol and Bobby find out that they have been lied to for years by Bobby’s parents. They have a child together and Carol was told that Bobby did not want anything to do with her. Meanwhile, Bobby’s parents never told him that he is a father. So, years later, Carol and Bobby have a lot to work through. But, the tension is directed more at the parents who kept them both in the dark for so long. This premise lends itself so well to the theme of forgiveness that runs through the book.

And, wow, the suspense in A Carol for Kent is great! There is a serial killer on the loose who is taking out women around town. The killer is definitely one step ahead of the investigators. How many women will lose their lives before this killer can be stopped? And who is the killer’s ultimate target?

I definitely recommend A Carol for Kent to romantic suspense readers. You can read my review of book one, A Melody for James, here. I am looking forward to reading book four in the series, and I realized that I still need to read book two as well! I will be doing so soon.

A Carol for Kent ( Part 3 of the Song of Suspense series)
By: Hallee Bridgeman
I have got to say that I did not think this series could get any better, but was I wrong. Ms. Bridgeman you did an awesome job on " A Carol for Kent", I loved it . You will get to meet some of the same characters from the first two novels. If you love a good christian suspense with some romance that will keep you guessing till the last pages, then you will love "A Carol for Kent." Carol Mabry is an attorney for the city of Richmond Virginia. She is heading up an investigation to a string of stranglings of beautiful young women. The serial killer is know as Richmond Red who kills beautiful young woman with violin strings. Bobby Kent is a country music star. He has not been home in years. He decides to go home after his tour. Once he gets home he finds out he has a daughter, Lisa, eight years old. Now Bobby is a Christian and this is a blow to him. Someone has been lying and keeping secrets from him. It is hard for him to forgive the ones that kept his daughter from him. Carol is really busy with the killings that is happening and now Bobby Kent is back in town. This is a Christian Suspense novel and Ms. Bridgeman teaches us to forgive. With all that is going on will Bobby and Carol get their chance to forgive the ones that has did this to them? Be sure and get you a copy of this awesome book that grabs you from the start and will non turn loose till the end. You will not be disappointed .

This is the third book in the Song of Suspense Series. While I have not read the first two and had no problem keeping up with what was going on I would recommend you read them in order. (plus you will enjoy them all anyway, if the first two are as good as this one). You will also get background information of characters in this novel.

Carol Mabry has been raising her daughter for eight years now, assuming Bobby Kent, the childs dad wanted nothing to do with her. When truth finally comes out that Bobby knew nothing of his daughter can forgiveness and healing take place in all the areas that are needed? Carol is an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney is always busy with her work, yet always finds time to be a good mother. This new case has her in the spotlight and makes her wonder if she will ever find Richmond Red.

Bobby Kent is a famous Country music star when he unexpectedly comes home and finds he is a father, what will happen with his family? Can he forgive and find love in Carol again? Will he be able to keep her safe?

This book is full of surprise, suspense, mystery, romance, friendship and love. If you think you have it figured out, you don't. You will keep intrigued throughout the whole book and not know whom to trust till the end. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading contemporary, Christian, Suspense, Romance. This is my first by Hallee Bridgeman and will not be my last. I enjoyed her descriptions, comedy, and suspense. I was given a copy of this book from bookfun.org (TBCN) for my honest opinion.

An absolutely fantastic inspirational suspense!

I love the characters that Hallee has developed for this novel. Both Carol and Bobby have so much depth to them that they are a joy to get to know. As soon as the deception that they have been living under was revealed my heart broke for all that the two of them, plus Lisa, had missed out on. I have never wanted so badly to see the characters in a book receive their “happily-ever-after” as I did with these characters. The way that they each dealt with everything that life threw at them was amazing. The fact that they both take time to pray is wonderful in my mind. The road that they have to travel to come to the point that they can forgive those who have hurt them is very well written.

The plot caught my attention and pulled me in so thoroughly that I was really trying to figure out who the murderer was. I felt an urgency to ensure the safety of the characters.

Even while I was learning so much about both Bobby and Carol there were brief appearances from a number of characters from both of the previous books in this series. It was very satisfying to catch up with them even as we were seeing how they helped Bobby and Carol deal with their story.

The writing of this novel was an excellent job done by a fantastic writer and I highly recommend it.
