Krista Sloan is a feisty redhead with a heart of gold. As a physical therapist she gives 110%. With a reputation for being the best at pulling no punches when it comes to recovery, Krista thrives on restoring her patients to their former glory. But behind closed doors she still hasn’t been able to heal her own heart since it was shattered into a million pieces, ten years ago, by the only man she’s ever loved.
Chase Malone always had a love for music, and it showed in the way the sexy Adonis commanded the stage at every one of his sold out concerts. But his rock star status is hollow and incomplete because he can’t share it with his first true love. Every night that he sings to packed arenas, he sings to her, remembering the young love they shared and the night he had to leave her and his tortured past.
When an emergency calls Chase back to Harper’s Crossing, he’ll have no choice but to face that tortured past and all the ghosts that come with it. Will Chase be able to find his place again in the heart of the woman that sheltered him all those years ago? Will Krista be able to open her heart once again to the one man who owned her mind, body, and soul?
NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY bestselling author Melanie Shawn writes HEAs filled with sweet and sassy heroines, heroes who are cinnamon rolls in the streets alpho-holes in the sheets, casts of supportive *cough: meddling* friends and family who put the fun in funny, toe-curling combustible heat, and sugary sweet “aww” moments that will have your hearts and e-readers melting.

It was all right, but I don't feel like Chase and Krista ever have that conversation that they needed to have, and I had some unanswered questions. Why did Chase still send Krista gifts on those four dates? Why did he send texts, call or email her? What was the endgame there? He clearly had no plans to come back to town until his mom was sick, so why was he attempting to keep her on the string? Why did he leave and never look back if Krista is his one great love? After experiencing other relationships and finding they didn't live up to his first relationship, why didn't he say something to Krista since he still contacted her? After learning what really happened with the cheating rumors and stuff, why didn't Krista get in touch with Chase? Why was that guy she was seeing okay with her listening to her ex boyfriends music while wearing his old t-shirt to bed? Why wasn't her family more upset with Chase after he ditched town and never came back, breaking Krista's heart and then never fully letting her go by continuing to send gifts and texts? Seriously, everyone welcomes him back with open arms...I felt like there should have been at least some angst! And there definitely should have been a more thorough conversation about what happened in the past, and where both Chase and Krista were presently before they started sleeping together again.
Another amazing love story by Melanie Shawn - I just cant get enough of these books!
Chase is a music star who never stopped loving Krista - Krista is a PT who never stopped loving Chase... that is a great love story in it´s own, isn´t it? He sends her things on special dates and 10 years afer he leaves town, she has to call him because of something that happens and as soon as they see each other - sparks. Fly. <3
I loved every minute of this book and the scene in front of the mirror... omg... steaming hot!!!
Krista and Chase were high school sweethearts. Chase left one night senior year because of his bad relationship with his father and worked to be a successful and famous rock star! He faithfully reaches out to Krista four times a year, but she never responds. She develops a relationship with his mom and has to be the one to tell him she had a stroke -- he comes home after years being away. Great story of second chances and true love!!
Krista and Chase went their separate ways, forging their own paths after high school. An illness in the family brings them back together after ten years. I loved how that no matter how much time passed they still had that connection, that chemistry. It's a bumpy, sweet, steamy read.
they broke up and he moved out of town. they were off and on for 6 yrs while they were growing up. his father beat him and his mother
he became a famous singer
she stayed and was a pt. she would look in on his mom after his dad died. he never came back to visit
then his mom had a stroke, she left him a message and he came back he is in love with her and wants a relationship, she has a boyfriend but no sparks, they broke up
he had to go back on the road for 6 months but they agreed to make it work he proposed and so did she

Sometimes I get in the mood for an "easy" read and this series was exactly what I was looking for! I discovered the Melanie Shawn "Crossroads" books with the first one My First as a free iBook download. While the writing is certainly not Stephan King caliber they all flowed well and made for an enjoyable read of the mindless, sweet, love story with a happy ending variety, which is exactly what I was looking for when I picked up and read the whole series in a matter of a few weeks! If you like a happy ending with sexy twists along the way (without totally over doing it which some romance novels do) this series is just for you!
Love me a rock star- this one is one of my favorites of the series. Chase Malone has gone solo when his band decides they need a break. He hasn't been home since he hit it big his childhood is not pretty and he hasn't spoke to Krista either she never responded to his calls. Krista loved Chase but couldn't trust him during the high school years they dated. But she does her best to help his mom as much as she can. I love the sparks that fly between Chase and Krista and his music is amazing. Love these 2 characters once they figure things out.
They outdid themselves once again with this book..even more steamy, sexy, enticing, and just HOT yet still beautiful, blissful, and full of all the love in the world. Highly recommended! Especially for those that need a little spark to light the fire, so to speak;)
Oh I just love Krista and Chase. I love the second chance at your true first love. Their chemistry was crazy. The ending was perfect; I love how it ended with Krista realizing their strength of their love for one another.
What do you get when you take a childhood love and add in one feisty woman and a hot rocker? An awesome book that's what. This series is wonderful. The connection between the characters is sizzling. Excited to read the next onstallment
Chase and Krista had me laughing out loud and giggling through the entire book. Great chemistry between the main characters, their banter is super enjoyable. I liked how they found their way to each other again. Lovely story.
I love this series! I adore each and every Sloan and with varying personalities and all of their significant others. As usual I could not put this down till I was done. After I've finished the Crossroads Series I will have mastered the art of walking and reading.
Cute book, just like all of them but I didn't get into it as much as the others for some reason. Such a sad background life he had before growing up but it sucks that things like that actually happen. Let's see how the rest of these books turn out
I am so hooked on The Crossroads Series..Truely enjoyed reading Krista & Chase's story. Melanie & Shawna--You Rock!! I definitely recommend reading this series.
Exciting, sexy....AMAZING!! A definite must read...Anything by this duo is a must read!! Krista and Chase have incredible chemistry - Highly recommend this book!!!
"Honey, l hate to tell you this but that's love. And life, for that matter. There are no guarantees. You don't now what's going to happen next." (Page 287)
Their Song - "Saving Me" ...was the first song that had gotten Midnight Rush's first Grammy Award. The ironic thing about this song was that Chase never meant to release it. He'd never meant for anyone except Krista, the person he'd written it for, to hear it. The lyrics to "Saving Me" had been a prophecy. Krista was still saving him.
Later on: Chase would first find out Krista was not the girl he left behind. So he would wait and find out if she would make a run for it or turn and face the music. Krista wasn't one to let anything get the best of her, especially something she would think she was in control of - like her reaction to the explosive energy that was still between them. Krista would give Chase a piece of her mind without letting her think about bursting her delusional bubble. Looks like someone might be off his game.
What got my attention about this story was Chase thinking he could just waltz back into Krista's life after all these years without giving a thought to where life truly was between them. She had moved one, but the one thing that she held on to hope was through his mother. She had stepped up to help with everything after his father passed and the medical/psychological issues his mother was living with due to an abusive marriage.
Moving on to the last book in this series: "Actually Love" with Jessie and Zach in Crossroads 7
Falling in love with your leading lady’s younger sister, while you are in fourth grade is amazing. She had no clue as she sat in the audience, with her fiery red hair, and freckled nose watching us practice. She was so sweet and helpful.
When Chase is twelve he is in middle school, and he sees Krista walk onto campus. She still stirs in the same awe, that she did in fourth grade. Once he talks her up at lunch they are together until, Chase graduates eighth grade. Then, they again reunite. It is not an easy relationship, Krista is very insecure.
Not strictly by herself. All the girls that were jealous of her and Chase's relationship, didn't help. Cause and effect, are what she has, to show for having such, a temper. Although it is not the reason for Chase leaving town, it has a great deal to do with why he has stayed away. But, family issues can not be excused either, the ghost, and skeletons hiding in his mother’s old home, blackened his soul.
Krista reaching out finally, on behalf of his mother, still feels like an enormous, win. His mother has become ill. And needs, emergency surgery. As soon as, Chase finds out, he is on his way home. Both Krista and Chase, are going through their own, personal battles trying to figure out how to handle their first remeet.
This is a fun journey of awkward painful memories, of two people who are truthfully still madly in love, with one another. It’s with old, and new angst. And, a whole lot of family joy.
Wow, 10 years, and Krista is still upset with Chase! Even though she can't stop herself from listening to his music anymore than she can stop going by his mom's and taking care of her. Only this time, when she gets there, she is greeted by Abby's dog Bear barking frantically. When she lets herself in, the first thing that catches her attention is the smell! Then Bear trying his best to get her to Abby's bedroom. When she gets there, she is momentarily stilled, and Abby is lying on her bed unresponsive! No, no, no, this can't be happening! Her first call is to 911, then when they get there, she goes back to the front and does her best to clean up the mess Bear has left just so she can stay out of the medics way. Then she begins trying to get in touch with Chase. Will she get in touch with him? Will he take her calls? Will he come home for his mom since he didn't when his dad died four years ago? What will their relationship be like? Will he still hate her? There are so many questions that need answers to. Only one way to find out is to read this great story by Melanie Shawn!
3.5, but I’m bumping to 4. This is a story that started in elementary school and is finally coming to fruition. Growing up is hard. Growing up and not screwing it up in the process is even harder. Crazy Love is about Chase, a superstar rock star, and his hometown, elementary school through life love, Krista. I feel like even though it was Chase who left, with extremely good reason, he is the one who remained the most constant throughout this story. Most of the action happens in Harper’s Crossing, a small IL town where Krista and Chase grew up, and so there’s a feeling of small-town charm throughout this whole story. As always, the Sloan family is amazing, funny, and supportive. They all feature in this one, but not as prominently as in previous books. This one is truly all about Chase and Krista. They do have a lot to tell!
Disliked this so much, I got angrier and angrier as I read it.
1. The characters were so immature 2. Why was Krista so ineffectual? She decided not to play a game with Chase and then just turned into a stupid girl 3. She had been seeing Chris for a long time... all of her family knew him. He had come up in a previous book... now, he may not have been the one for her... but I think she was incredibly selfish.... and yes, immature in the way that she just ghosted him. For cripes sake... he bar-tended at a place she went to a lot. Made me dislike her 4. I think Chase was incredibly manipulative 5. I liked Bear
I was enjoying the first part of the series with the brothers... but now... mmm... not so sure. I will attempt the next & see.
