FEVERED...Restricted, hidden away, in full frenzy of the mating fever, and strictly forbidden to mate, Elaina decides it is time she joined her own kind...to find her mate. The fever is so strong, all she can think about is being in their arms.Torn, Eliana must face one of the most difficult choices of her life: go back with them to their village and chance that they aren't part of the Clan, or turn her back on the one man who could be her perfect mate in order to remain...HIDDEN.

My Thoughts - 3 out of 5 Unicorns - I liked it!!
***Ebook gifted to me for an honest review

The cover is cool and definitely says werebear :) It would definitely attract shifter lovers to pick it up.

Okay, I’m really torn. This is a novella of approximately 90 to 100 pages. I really liked it until it just stopped. It felt unfinished to me because there was no closure for any of the questions that rolled around my head for the entire book, and then even more questions added at the end with no answers. This series has so much potential and I think it is going to only get better, but right now I’m just I don’t know perturbed and sort of disappointed.

The world that Madison Johns has created is cool, but still very unknown. I like Elaina. She is trying to solve the mystery that is her life and her species. She is unprepared for the world and has no idea about anything. You definitely feel just like Elaina and not knowing what will happen. I love Madison’s writing style. It is easy to get pulled into the story, and I can’t wait for more, but I hope I don’t have to wait long to. I need to know what happens. I will definitely continue the series.

This really was a hard review for me because it was going to be a 4 that’s how much I liked reading this story until it left me hanging. I recommend to my werebear lovers out there, but be prepared because it is not enough, you will be left wanting.

Innocent Werebear!

This book was gifted to me by the Author Madison Johns for an honest review.

This is a very good and interesting story, it is a great read.

Elaina is a werebear who doesn't know a thing about her parents or even about being a shifter except what her werewolf protector who found her freezing to death as a cub, has told her for 18 years. All she knows is how to shift into a bear which she has been told to avoid. She has been very sheltered her whole life by a werewolf who has always feared for her safety.

She finally escapes her overprotective bonds, but now how will she survive on her own?

She is saved from certain death, but is she truly safe, from herself and will jealousy put her in even worse danger.

I can't wait to read the next book and learn what Elaina's future holds

Ugh.....This just left much to be desired, June 12, 2014

I can't say this was an enjoyable read for me. The sex and steam was pretty hot but shortly lived. I despised both "hero's" The entire scenario had me cringing. Throw in a naive and clueless heroine and this is what you get. Even the ending (or should I say lack of ending) sucked. I'm usually more generous in my reviews for books offered as freebies but this was an exception. I wish I hadn't wasted my time and there's no way this is a series I'd continue. It was just lacking in so many ways.

Okay story

This story was a little young to me. Then at the end they're having all kinds of sex which would definitely change the audience from too young to mature. Sorry, just not my regular genre. If you like it then happy reading.

~ 1.5 Hidden Werebear Star ~

Hidden is book one in the Clan of the Werebear by Madison Johns. This book left much to be desired. I love bear shifters and when I saw this was free on Amazon I said why not give it a try. I know wish I had not read this book. Don’t understand how this book can have so many 4 to 5 star reviews.

Major disappointment. I despised the heroes Cullen and Damon. Neither where interesting and all they wanted was to keep their werebear bloodline going, so any women who can be a breeder will do just fine. They spread the love or should I say their seed around. Then we have Elaina the naive clueless heroine, who is only 19 still a child and doesn’t understand anything around her. She runs into two other bear shifters and they tell her she needs to mate with one of them and then eventually with both of them. Instead of saying see ya, she stays and lets her hormones take over. AH!!! No love & No mate commitment. We have the bear clan mentioned numerous times, but nothing happened on that front. Then we have the ending or should I say lack of one.

Hidden was a major disappointment. I had a hard time rating this. It was lacking in several areas and I just can’t stand a naive clueless heroine. They get on my nervous and if you can’t love the hero’s then why even bother. I have no desire to read anymore in this series. Received a free copy off Amazon.

When you have been hidden your whole life for your own protection how long before you start to question the reasons.

Elaina has always been told that she needs to keep hidden to stay safe as there are people after her. Samson, a werewolf, has tried to raise her as best he could but with her being a werebear there is only so much that he can do. There are changes coming that are out of both of their controls that force her to make a choice, whether the right or wrong one is still to be seen. Running away when she is in the midst of the mating heat is not the best option as there are others around that would take one whiff and want nothing more than to claim her, if only for a night. Case in point when she stumbles across werebears Cullen and Damon.

Cullen and Damon seem to have it good in their little hareem in the woods. They are the only two males left to protect the women. The reward for such protection seems to be in the form of mating with them, both of them. That is their offer to Elaina for her to stay. If she wants protection then that is the price. The mating heat might be to blame in part but she doesn’t really see this as too much of a price, not that she is willing to say that to them that is. The pull might be strong but that doesn’t mean that they trust her, or the secrets they know she is keeping. Her true past might be catching up to her, putting everyone at risk.

Short read that was ok but I would have liked to know more about the Clan of the Werebear to see what the danger is really meant to be. There isn’t much of an ending, though that seems to be the thing with stories split into parts, you have to finish them all to get the whole picture.

This is the first book I have read by Madison and I really liked it. It was a little different from some of the other shifter books I have read. Meaning there was no mating between different species of shifters or humans. The werebear clan would go check on the bear packs and if they found some, they would be in serious trouble.

Elaina was a young bear cub, rescued by Samson, a werewolf shifter, so because of this law he kept her hidden until she was 18 yrs old. She wasn't supposed to be shifting either but she did a few times anyway. Now she is in her mating fever, so she needs to go find her another bear shifter to mate with even though Samson doesn't think it is safe for her to leave so she basically escapes in the middle of the night and eventually runs into Cullen and Damon, alphas of another bear pack. So which one of the brothers does she mate with? And oh boy, it was a very hot mating scene too!! Who exactly is the clan and are they really to be feared?

Like I said, I really enjoyed this book very much but I need more. I think this is the beginning of a series because we are left with some unanswered questions but overall it was really worth the read. I was gifted a copy of the book by the author for an honest review and there was no other compensation.

I am giving an honest review of this book for author Madison Johns. This book I couldn't put down once I started to read it.

Elaina could not remember her past until Samson found her and raised her as his own. He was her protector growing up but he did not teach her how to make it on her own when she was of age. She was always told that the clan was dangerous and that werewolves and werebears were enemies even though Samson was a werewolf.

I felt sorry for Elaina because she was never told how to defend herself and told never to shift but when she runs away she does not know how to survive in the wilderness.

The story line and the characters work so well together and even though there are a few twists and turns in the story you are not lead off in a new direction, the author brings you back to the main story which is great.

This paranormal romance is a must for any shifter book readers out there and 1 for your collection. There is an abrupt end to this book and I can't wait to see if there is another book to follow this 1.

Survival, Mating Heat and the Unknown
Very original story line within this book. A werebear cub being raised in secret by an werewolf. At the turning of age 18 she is in mating heat and is compelled to leave and find a mate. Yet the unknown is out there and she has no training. Who are the dreaded Clan she’s always been warned about? And why may they be after her? She is clueless of the werebear ways, and wants a true mate. She does find some werebears not part of the clan, but danger lurks there as well as well as some hot werebear brothers. Some answers are given within the book but other are still unknown, It may be a standalone book but your left wanting more of the continued story. This was a very nice short read and makes a great start to a new series. Well written and enjoyable to read. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of an honest review and was not compensated

This one was hard to rate. It had a great premise and I enjoyed it but it just didn't have any bells or whistles. :-(

The bear clan was mentioned numerous times but nothing happened on that front. The heroine was a virgin and then all of the sudden she meets two other bear shifter brothers. They tell her that she has to mate with one of them and eventually both of them and instead of saying see ya, she stays there. Puh lease! Wouldn't you want to see what else was available. Especially considering the two brothers mated with other women regularly. They shared the love so to speak.

I had high hopes for this book but I just couldn't rate it any higher. I might try the next book in the series.

Hopefully, there will be more action. I'd also like her to find a man of her own. Maybe Liam????

I received an ecopy from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

Hidden Clan of the Werebear by Madison Johns
The writing is fun engaging and exciting
This novella is a nice intro to the Clan of the Werebear Series. Ms Johns set the stage for the next two books in the series. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of the lives of both the werebears and werewolves. We are introduced to several main characters, Elaina, Sampson, Liam, Cullen, Damon and the mysterious Clan of the Werebear. The story revolves around Elaina lost her early memories and having the mating fever. The sex scenes are dealt with in a caring and kind manner. This is not a read alone book. Many questions are raised, future conflict is strongly suggested and some unnamed mystery is yet to be solved. I look forward to the next book to answer the questions raised in this first of the series.

Elaina was a young bear cub, rescued by Samson, a werewolf shifter, so because of this law he kept her hidden until she was 18 yrs old. This was a great shifter book that included werebears and werewolfs. It was forbidden to mate between the werewolf's and the werebears so Elaine escapes one night to find some of her own. She is taken under the wings of two alpha werebears, and they are sexy. It is original in that the werewolves and the werebears are not suppose to interact but they do. It was great that we experienced both lifestyles but I would have loved to see some more history on the pasts of both. Ended on a steamy note and can't wait to read more.

This story has promise. But I didn't find what I was looking for. The storyline was stilted and didn't flow well. The writing was dry and the language was not in the tone I would have thought spoken. A were bear that says "I'm famished"?
I was amazed at the immaturity and ignorance of Elaina. And I was also amazed that Samson would open certain doors to the world, but keep important information from her.
I didn't like the premise of all the village women being concubines for the 2 Russian bear brothers (strange) and totally would save liked to have seen more intimacy with Liam. Needs some work, but could be a great story!

This one had me right from the beginning. I'm really intrigued by Elaina's story so much mystery around her past before she was found by Samson. She's a werebear and all her life she's been surrounded by werewolves which is against Clan law. She's finally on her own trying to find her kind. She gets more than she bargained for when she meets werebears Cullen and Damon. This is part of series and I can't wait to read the continuation in the second part. If you're a fan of paranormal definitely give this one a look.

Poor Elaina protected from a cub to adulthood to the point of craziness, she runs away and the craziness ratchets way up. She's in heat and vulnerable as she's been isolated all her life. Now there's these two hunky brothers who both want to breed her and she's confused. I can't wait to see what happens next. Will she pick one of the brothers, or will she leave them both on a voyage of self discovery? Give this a read and see for yourself. I gave this 4 stars only because the ending just dropped off. I need to read the next book.

Short but sweet

Short but sweet

It is a short book but it is good. I look forward to reading the next one to see what happens next. My curiosity is quite piqued at this point. I felt the story was good even though it was short. The characters were good also and kept my interest.

I was given the honor of reading and reviewing for this awesome author. Loved the interaction and flow between characters. Really enjoyed how the different species can get along, at least certain ones. Yet some have a flawed perception of how things with one group are not always the same from group to group of the same species.

I'm going out on a limb here and say while I enjoyed the storyline, found it different and promising, I definitely have a lot of questions. I also think Cullen and Dylan sounded like a broken record when they had to keep repeating themselves to Elaina. I liked the book okay but didn't love it. I am going to buy the next book in the series since I am curious.

I enjoyed this book great story line. I felt bad for Elaina and her situation having to be hidden. I think Liam and Elaina would be a good couple but it's forbidden. The only complaint I have is that I wish the books were longer, I didn't want it to end. Can't wait for the next book.
