Emmy Mathis is sure of three things:

1. Her sister Margery’s three-week wedding extravaganza at their grandmother’s Marietta, Montana home will be over-the-top ridiculous.
2. She’d much prefer to stay home in Atlanta in a pair of sweats.
3. And she absolutely, positively, won’t feel even a hint of a spark for Griffin Hyatt, grandson of her beloved grandmother’s best friend and the architect of the most embarrassing night of her life ten years ago.

But Emmy is dead wrong about number three. The moment she and Griffin lock eyes again, the passion that’s always smoldered between them flames. And they aren’t kids any more, so why should they deny the desire that sears through them both?

Is this no more than a wedding fling between two people with too much chemistry and an overload of history, or can Emmy try to build a new life from the ashes of their past? And if Griffin is truly really free of his fiance, why is he a finalist in the town’s Wedding Giveaway? Emmy can’t answer those questions, but she does know that Griffin has the power to burn her like no one else.

Still, how can Emmy walk away from the one man she’s always loved now that she knows what she’s been missing?

Emmy Mathis is back in Marietta, Montana for her sister's big extravaganza she calls a wedding. She hasn't been back since that fateful night, ten years ago, when her longtime crush, Griffin Hyatt left her rejected, crying and naked in a barn the day before she left for college. Ouch! Crushed, she left and never returned. Instead she settled in Atlanta, made a life for herself and tried to forget...HIM.
But, now she is back in town and who is the first person she sets eyes on?...HIM. Griffin is just as heartstoppingly handsome as he was 10 years ago, too. Damn!

He was the kind of man who left scars. He had. It was so unfair. If anyone deserved to turn ugly with age it was Griffin.

Emmy quickly found out Griffin still had the power to tie her up in knots. To make matters worse, she found there was 'no room at the inn', specifically her Grandmother's house. So, guess where she was shuttered off to? Griffin's house! Roomies...oh, boy. Kill me now!
Griffin finds he is not immune to Emmy either. He regrets those actions he took so long ago even if they were for the best.

You shouldn't have broken her heart all those years ago, dumbass...He would let Emmy go home. He'd wave her goodbye like he meant it and he'd keep his damned feelings to himself.

A Game of Brides by Megan Crane was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. It was a great story with a lot of emotion and humor mixed in with the heartache. Now, I am anxious for the story of the Grandmothers. They were a scream!

MY RATING: 4/5 STARS

I was provided a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

First of all, I love Megan Crane or at least, her other persona, Caitlen Crews. I loved her stories written for Harlequin because they were filled with sexual tension, angst, and the romance that I crave.

A Game of Brides was no exception. The story follows old flames, Emmy and Griffin. Emmy used to have a major crush on Griffin back in her highschool days. He was the popular jock that everyone loved and Emmy was the stick thin annoying little sister that everyone ran away from. So when Emmy shows up to the old town she fled for her sister's wedding, Griffin is taken aback by how much Emmy has grown up. She's strong, beautiful, and made a successful career for herself as a marketing executive. And now Griffin is controlling his lust to claim Emmy for himself.

They know they shouldn't embark in a relationship but considering that they have feelings for each other, it's hard to resist. I loved reading the sexual tension between these two. They're both very stubborn but they know they love each other in the end.

MY RECOMMENDATION:

I definitely suggest picking this one up and giving it a read. Maybe bring a fan too because it's about to get very hot. Ha!

Such a fun read with some heat too!

What a wonderful book based in my favorite fictional town of Marietta. I simply love reading books based in this town and in this book we get to that famous fever. Well there is a wedding taking place and this bride is way over the top. As in instead of a wedding day she has 3 weeks worth of events planned in Marietta. Why Marietta? Well, her grandma lives there and that's where she visited in the summers as a child. Fun right? Well the book is about her sister Emmy, the maid of honor and Griffin Hyatt. Emmy hasn't been back to Marietta in ten years since things got a wee bit out of hand with her crush Griffin right be for she left for college. Author Megan Crane sucks us in fast and keeps us turning the pages. I love how we get to visit so many of our favorite haunts like Grey's Saloon and see old faces too. I am looking forward to the next book in the Montana Millionaires series.

I just didn't like the main characters. I'm not a fan of tattoos so Griffin did nothing for me and by the end I thought of him as a complete moron. Selling your million dollar company (to who the author never noted) but letting your best friend & ex-fiance run it is a joke; the two people in the world you know you can't trust but this idiot sells to them or allows them to run the company?!?! Stupid. And Emmy acts tough but can't even stand up for herself for years in her professional life. And Emmy's sister was a raving bi@#%$. I couldn't stand anyone in the story.

This is a wonderful second chance romance between Emmy and Griffin. She has returned to Marietta for the first time since she had suggested she and Griffin take their relationship to a physical level. When he turned her down, she was humiliated and angry and didn’t plan to see him again. Emma has returned to Marietta where he lives for her sister’s wedding. All of the events make it a 3 week affair and the couple are forced together initially when the only place for her to stay is at his cabin with him. There is a lot of angst and a sweet reunion story.

2.5/5stars. This was my least favourite in the series. I didnt really find much in the story except that the h/H have the hots for each other. I found the book sorely lacking in story, drama and emotions. The plot about their past seemed quite different and that's what drew me to the book but even that wasnt explained well. I simply didn't feel it.

That was really fun! These two definitely had sparks between them, and they clashed as much as they clicked. There definitely were some sweet moments, and two matriarchs stacking the deck in their favour 😊

I’m not usually a fan of novellas because they don’t go deep enough in plot or character. But this novella series is a satisfying exception.

A Game of Brides by Megan Crane

this is Emmy Mathis and Griffin Hyatt story.

She felt him before she saw him.
It was the same as it had always been during those long, golden Montana
summers when she’d been unable to escape how helpless and wild he’d made her feel as
an inexperienced teenager—that little shiver down the back of her neck, then snaking
along her arms, as if every hair on her body was shivering to attention.
Her scowl deepened. And Griffin Hyatt—the bane of her existence and one of the
ten million reasons Emmy wanted to be anywhere but back in Montana, even if that
meant missing her only sister’s wedding—grinned back at her.
The sparks are still there but can Emmy risk her heart again with Griffin?

Is this no more than a wedding fling between two people with too much chemistry and an overload of history,
Can Emmy try to build a new life from the ashes of their past?
if Griffin is truly really free of his fiance, why is he a finalist in the town’s Wedding Giveaway?
Emmy can’t answer those questions, but she does know that Griffin has the power to burn her like no one else.
Still, how can Emmy walk away from the one man she’s always loved now that she knows what she’s been missing?
I am looking forward to reading more books by Megan.

Emmy Mathis is over her childhood crush. Isn't she? Ten years after he left her naked a crying in his grandmother's barn, has completely moved on. She graduated from college and got a job as a copywriter in an ad agency in Atlanta, so her life is moving right along. Except it's not. Not really. Now, she has been forced by her hateful boss to take a leave of absence to help with her sister's wedding in Montana, and who should pick her up from the airport?

Griffin Hyatt is the epitome of being successful at something you love. His passion for art and extreme sports segued into a highly celebrated athletic wear company. If only his personal life was as successful as his business. After being betrayed by the two people who mattered to him the most, he has been licking his wounds in Montana and finding himself stuck in a rut. But after seeing Emmy for the first time in ten years, he suddenly realized that the annoying little girl trailing after him all of those years ago has become woman...and what a woman. Is it possible that she was the one for him all along?

It was definitely a change of pace to find a character like Griffin in this series. Up until this point I have been used to cowboys, or at the very least country boys. While Griffin is not purely a "street-wise" city boy, he is more that than a country boy. At first I was prepared to not like him, but he grew on me. He was unapologetic about his actions, but he admitted that he might have been less than cavalier in his technique.

Reading Emmy's story is great because many people (men and women) feel the same way as she does. Feeling like you need the create a controlled environment to prevent yourself from acting foolishly or getting hurt, but then you end up hating your life and can't find a way out.

The supporting characters are actually not terribly likable on their own. It is only through the eyes of the main characters that you see them are people who are real and very much loved. Margery is especially this way. She may come off as a prime diva, but Emmy still loves her and would do anything for her, even risk her job.

Overall, this story definitely pulls you out of the box and makes you look at the world around you. Not everything is as cut and dry, or final, as we think it is. Bravo!

In A Game of Bride's by Megan Crane, Emmy is back in Marietta, Montana after 10 years for her sister's wedding and all the festivities planned around it. Despite the fact that she used to spend every summer there with her Gran and that she loved it there, when her heart got broken at the age of 18 she just couldn't go back. Emmy is not happy to be back, nor is she happy about everything her sister has planned. She's even less happy when the first person she sees is Griffin - the man who embarrassed her and broke her heart all those years ago. Emmy seems very determined not to enjoy her time in Marietta this time around.

Griffin was trying to do the right thing back then when Emmy offered herself to him and he rejected her. The past is in the past, he's been engaged and had his own heart broken, and is the owner of a successful sportswear company. Now he's back in Marietta to stay while Emmy will be going home to Atlanta. When Emmy ends up on his door step and needs a place to stay, she still holds her grudge but he's just as irresistible as ever. Griffin finds Emmy just as irresistible, and this time has no intention of not having her. A 3 week fling might just be what Emmy needs to get Griffin out of her system, right? Will she be able to leave again when everything she wants is in Marietta?

Griffin and Emmy have their second chance at romance in A Game of Bride's. Emmy's character really developed and matured well in A Games of Bride's. At first we have a bitter, grudge holding woman who is a bit difficult to like. Emmy will quickly grow on you though. Griffin is successful, but ready for a change. He knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go after it...or in this case her! I really liked him, he's responsible and respectful. Both of them have issues to work through that add depth to their characters.

Megan gives us a lot of conflict in A Game of Bride's from romantic conflict to workplace conflict which keeps things interesting! A Game of Bride's is fast paced and entertaining with some great secondary characters - especially the two Gran's who I loved! Megan's descriptives of Marietta, Montana and the cold will take you right there!

A Game of Bride's is a fast paced, steamy and fun novella to fall into that any romance reader will enjoy.

Emmy Mathis spent her summers with her Grandmother in Marietta, Montana. She spent most of her time annoying Griffin Hyat, grandson of her Grandmother's best friend and neighbor. She annoyed him so much so that he nicknamed her "Bug." One night, their relationship changed, and Griffin "did the right thing" and left Emmy humiliated and vowing not to return. Fast-forward 10 years later. Emmy's sister Margery plans three weeks of wedding festivities, in Montana. Emmy is Maid of Honor, so she has to come back...and the first person she sees is Griffin... After years of taking the "safe" path, can she be happy with a three-week affair? Griffin is more successful than he ever thought he would be, and has returned to Marietta to nurse his "broken" heart. Seeing Emmy as a grown-up means this time he doesn't have to walk away.
I loved, loved these two characters! They had not only chemistry, but friendship. Together they navigate their relationship, but help each other discover more about themselves and what makes them happy. The secondary characters are a fun as well, adding to the play between Emmy and Griff. The Grandmothers are hysterical, and Margery comes of as pretty and shallow, but we see what Emmy loves, that there is more to her.
Megan Crane's A Game of Brides is a part of the Montana Born Brides/Great Wedding Giveaway series.
Again, we run into characters we have seen in other stories, and it is great to see where everyone fits in.
I loved this story. Crane writes real characters and yanks you into the story quickly and thoroughly, making it tough to put down. Give yourself time to read it, you won't want any interruptions!

Emma Mathis knew coming back to Marietta was going to be a challenge, then again what was she to do? Her big sister’s wedding… she was maid of honor after all. She had to be there, but really three weeks ahead of time? She didn’t want to think about what her office was saying or what was going to happen when she got back to her life at home. Then again she REALLY didn’t want to think about spending the next three weeks with the one man she never really got over.

Griffin Hyatt had it all, or mostly and that was what counted, right? A huge company, more money than he could ever spend, oh and one of the most meddlesome grandmothers known to man. After his fiancé cheated on him he went to “hibernate” in his cabin on his grandmother’s land and before he knew it he had a three week roommate, the one girl who never quite left the back of his mind.

Griffin and Emma don’t have a lot of time, just the three weeks leading up to the wedding. They both have some major career and life changes that are coming. Will those changes bring them closer together or will they just serve to tear them further apart and when Griffin’s exfiance shows up out of the blue what will Emma do?

Ms. Crane has taken us back to Marietta and made us fall in love again! Emma is so well written that I couldn’t help but be pulled into her, her feelings and of course start rooting for her. The romance is sweet and perfect for a novella size story. As always Ms. Crane has left me wanting more, in the best way possible.

Brilliant second chance story with fabulous characters which I didn't want to leave behind or reach the end of the story.

This book popped up free and as I'm a huge fan I wasn't missing the opportunity! I loved it so much I would have happily paid for it.

Emmy is at the Montana airport waiting for someone to pick her up; anyone in her family, even a complete stranger would be better than the alternative which was Griffin Hyatt, her childhood crush since way back when! And the one who'd left her naked and crying the night before she left for college. There he is leaning against the wall, she felt him before she saw him, and beckons her over when it finally dawns on her why he's there. Emmy's home for her sister's wedding, a three week spectacular affair.

The opening was brilliant and the story rolled along from there. I loved Emmy and I loved Griffin. I loved the banter between the two and I love that they didn't mince about and got straight to how they feel and I loved how they dealt with things as they came along. I really liked the secondary characters and I loved the town. I loved the easy read and I adore second chance stories and I thought this was a great one. It's an uncomplicated easy read which left me feeling warm inside..

A Game of Brides is part of a series Montana Born Brides and I'm sure to read some more of the series if they're like this one :)

**I was given a free copy in exchange for my honest opinion**

When Emmy's at the airport, she cannot believe her ride to her sister's over-the-top wedding is him--Griffin, the guy who left her humiliated all those years ago. After she arrives at her Gran's house, she finds she's forced to bunk in his cabin--all the rooms in the house are taken. What starts as hate and anger turns to lust and a three-week fling with no strings.

Griffin is a self-made man in extreme sports and related goods, loves tattoos, and has no interest in commitment. But, three weeks with Emmy is enough to make him finally reevaluate his life, and future.

As they spend more time together, they find a routine, but try to pretend there's nothing serious going on between them. What they don't realize is their own grandmas have orchestrated them together because they know there's a fated love between their families. Just as Emmy and Griffin are close to revealing their feelings, in walks Griffin's ex or not so ex-fiancee at the big Wedding Giveaway!

Both Griffin and Emmy must face the reality of where their lives stand, what they want for the future, and how much they're willing to give up to start over and have a future together. Fortunately, fate, and a secret grandmas' bet, brings them back together, forever, at her sister's reception.

This is a fun, smexy read!

I think Emmy and Griffin's story is my favorite so far of all the Montana Born Brides books! Griffin broke Emmy's heart 10 years ago before she headed off to college, and she's avoided him and their hometown ever since. But they're thrown back together when Emmy has to come home for her older sister Margery's wedding celebrations...they really are literally thrown together, courtesy of their two scheming grandmothers, lifelong best friends Gran Harriet and Gran Martha. This story is a roller coaster of fun and emotions, with a lot of sexy spice added to the mix! Griffin and Emmy exchange plenty of barbs, but can't keep their hands off of one another...and they try to keep that fact hidden from everyone, including convincing each other that this is only a short-lived fling! Both of them have played it safe for far too long. Can they be brave in both life and love? The grans are delightful in their determination to bring their respective grandchildren to their senses before it's too late! This high-spirited romance can easily be read in one sitting...you won't regret it!

This is book 6 in the Bride Series, and I absolutely LOVED it! I found it to be delightfully charming, witty, and kept my interest from the first page to the last. Megan Crane is a favorite author and I just adore her voice.

This is Griffin and Emmy's story. Emmy has come to town for her sister's over the top 3 week wedding extravaganza and the last person she wants to see is the person is who picks her up from the airport. Griffin and Emmy have a history, one that Emmy would love to forget since it was the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to her. When circumstance force the two of them to spend time together, well let's just say the chemistry between these two is HOT!!!! I really liked the secondary characters in this story too. The grandmothers are a hoot!

I highly recommend this Novella, I only wish it had been a little longer, because it was over way too quick! Check out the other Bride books and definitely check out Megan Crane's other books. I haven't read them all yet, but I will!

When Emmy Mathis returns to Montana for her sister's monster of a wedding, she walks into the arms Griffin Hyatt. She crushed on him as a teenager, but he rejected her. She's never forgotten or forgiven him. Fate throws them together when she needs a place to stay. Their attraction burns so hot that they can't deny it and they become involved. Can love be far behind or does the past catch up with them? This is a smartly written tale filled with passion, meddling relatives and entertaining characters. Margery and her wedding extravaganza are the perfect backdrop for Emmy and Griffin to find love. Emmy's humor and sassy attitude contrast nicely with Griffin's Alpha personality. Gran Harriet and Gran Martha are a hoot. They know all and are always plotting, even Griffin knows when to comply with their wishes. This was such a great story. I always enjoy my time in Marietta Montana. Romance is in the air and the townspeople are old friends.

Who among us doesn't have a life long crush for someone-that one person that somehow materializes in our waking and sleeping dreams of "what if?"
Emma has hers and he meets her at the airport when she comes back to Marietta after ten long years to be the maid of honor at her sister's wedding. Of all the people she knows in Marietta, why is Griffin picking her up and why is her heart going crazy? Why can she still feel his presence before she sees him? Why did she have to come back?
And, then there's Griffin, just standing up against the wall with his brooding eyes, waiting to take her home to Marietta. Why does he feel the same things as Emmy? Oh, boy, something's going to happen and happen fast because this is
a story of unanswered love, ten years of for waiting for responses, reactions, results.

This was a fun story. I really enjoyed it all the way to the end and then wanted more.

A 10 year old heartbreaking memory comes back all at once when Emmy Mathis comes home to Montana for her sister's wedding. At 18, she was head over heels in love and ready to give herself to Griffin Hyatt, when he left her naked and crying because he didn't want her. Griffin shows up at the airport as her ride back home. Emmy should have known the grandmothers had planned this. Now, Griffin is all grown up, hotter then ever and heading an extreme sports clothing company. When there is no room in the house, she is forced to stay with Griffin. Will they be able to get along as roommates for the three weeks of Emmy's sister's wedding celebration? This book had everything you need for a great romance story.

Ridiculously good! I loved Game of Brides from the moment I picked it up until I finished it. I don't know how she does it, but Megan Crane's writing is like crack.
Emmy returns to her hometown of Marietta, Montana, for her sister's three week extravaganza of a wedding. When she left town ten years ago, she stayed away after having her heart broken by crush Griffin Hyatt.
Of course, they are thrown together during her visit, through the orchestrations of their best-friend grandmothers, and sparks fly. Through a thoroughly enjoyable three weeks, Crane shows these two mature and change in ways that they hadn't expected, realize what they wanted, and get it for themselves.
All in all, this is quite possibly a perfect novella. It hits all the right notes and is an immensely satisfying read.

This is book 6 of The Great Wedding Giveaway Series. It was written by Megan Crane.
This is the story of Emmy and Griffin.
Emmy is back in town for her sister's wedding. Griffin is in town after a break-up from his fiancee while he figures out what he wants to do.
Emmy had left 10 years ago, went to college, moved to Atlanta. She didn't want to be in Montana after what had happened (or should I say didn't happen) with Griffin all those years ago. When she arrives, who would be waiting to take her from the airport? No one other than Griffin himself. All the feelings Emmy thought she had pushed down, suddenly came rushing back. Griffin realizes that no simple apology is going to get him forgiven, so he opts for the truth.
Sparks and chemistry fill this story, as well as friendship. Emmy and Griffin are a great couple. Really enjoyed reading their story.

Emmy returned to Montana for her sister's three week wedding extravaganza as her maid of honor, which was the last thing she wanted to do.

Her arrival starts with Griffin Hyatt picking her up at the airport instead of her mother. When she was eighteen, Griffin had let her down and was the reason she had stayed away from Montana for the past ten years.

Emmy ends up staying in Griffin's cabin because her sister has ten other bridesmaids and they are short a bedroom for her.

Griffin's grandma is Emmy's grandma's best friend and they own properties next to one another. The two grandma's set plan to stir the pot and hope Emmy and Griffin will realize they love each other and have since they were children. Besides a three-week wedding celebration the two Grandmothers are a riot to add humor to A Game of Brides. It is a cute romance.

Emmy Mathis fled town ten years ago due to a broken heart and a grand humiliation. Now she is returning home to attend her sister's wedding. Imagine her surprise when the reason for her absence, Griffin Hyatt, is the one waiting at the airport to pick her up. Old feelings resurface, but does anything really ever change? This is one fun and sexy little read. Love, family, sibling rivalry. It has it all. I love the way Megan Crane writes. She is so wonderfully modern and descriptive. Case in point, "He was worse than alcohol, all blackouts and bad behavior and regret. And she craved him far more than she'd ever wanted a drink". This is the sixth novella in the Montana Born Great Wedding Giveaway series and in my opinion the best. You're in for a treat with this one.

I've always been a huge fan of Megan Crane and her writing. In A Game of Brides she once again does a phenomenal job. Her characters are likable, even bridezilla Margery. I loved the Grandmas. They were a hoot; they're who I'd like to be.

It's funny how Griffin and Emmy both went into their forced locality with strong wills and ideas but when faced with each other at close quarters all of that fell away. I loved seeing the former friends clear the air somewhat and really get to know each other in the present.

I loved this visit to Marietta, Montana and seeing so many familiar faces. I'm really eager to see who else takes pare in The Great Wedding Giveaway and falls in love next. If you haven't read any of the books in this series you are seriously missing out!

Emmy and Griffin, most of us girls at some time have made ourselves look stupid to an older boy. When Emmy was younger she did this with her grandma's best friends grandson. The two grandma's lived next door to each other. Even though Griffin was attracted to her he ran tale leaving Emmy totally mortified. Years later she is returning for her sisters wedding and who did those grannies send for the trek to pick her up in Bozeman her childhood crush and coincidence they end up rooming together and the fireworks start.

I enjoyed Megan's writing style and look forward to reading more of her books.

Megan Crane's A Game of Brides book #6 in the Montana Born Bides series is a hit in my book. This novella is a quick fun read.
Emmy is back home in Marietta, Montana for 3 weeks to attend her sister's wedding(she would much rather be back home in Atlanta!). To her dread picking her up at the airport is the last person she wants to see, Griffin. You see Griffin broke Emmy's heart ten years ago when he rejected her advances. As the story progresses the pair are thrown together by a pair of match-making
grandmothers and circumstances. Also the attraction is there along with romance. This is an entertaining read by Megan Crane and a great addition to the series.
