Good

Jamie is a nurse at a clinic, she was a hospice nurse until her boyfriend started killing patients. When she is shot while protecting her friend, she decides to change jobs. Max was a cop and is a fire investigator now. His wife and son was killed in a house fire set by an arsonist. He never thought he’d fall for another woman until he meets Jamie. She is not ready for a relationship but then she is chased by two men. A fire is set near the clinic and a homeless man was inside but suffers from some burns. Lots of strange things start happening and Max takes her out of town for her own safety. The longer they are together, the harder she falls for him.
Lots of action and mystery with sexy sex scenes. Jamie bothered me because she kept pushing Max away until she needed him and then she was falling for him.

It has been a while since I read the previous books. Maybe that is why I feel like key information is missing. They are just getting to know each other. They may have heard things from their friends but it is still important for them to talk about it themselves. Why didn’t they talk about his wife and kid? They always shut down any topic that would lead to it being talked about. In the end I felt like it was a little disrespectful to his wife. He kept saying how he has never felt so connected and so in love in his entire life. It was like he chose to just forget that time in his life. He needed to move on but he also needed to acknowledge his love for his wife and child.
I felt like Jamie was soooo weak! In the beginning of the book she is all about reclaiming her life and taking control. That lasts all of two seconds. She depends on everyone else to make the decisions for her. Even when talking to her best friend/ therapist she tells her she is taking charge but then turns around and asks her what she should do. She is constantly crying. I can’t deal with whiny helpless heroines. She made several comments about how she loves having a man to rescue her.
I didn’t like Max. From the beginning he was trying to fix her. That theme was kept up throughout the entire book. He has even more problems than she does that he never fully addressed. He seemed to have a 1960’s man’s mentality. Jamie was perfectly fine with that of course.
This is one relationship that I felt didn’t need to happen. They both needed to deal with their own issues before trying to get together. I didn’t feel that they had any connection at all.
The writing in general is very elementary.
The ending was such a let down. Everything was just wrapped up behind the scenes. Also, they all can’t be that dumb! There is no way it took that long to figure everything out.

Jamie was a Hospice nurse until her heart was broken by the murders of her hospice patients. Jamie now works at the free clinic in the older part of the city. She befriended a homeless man and his friend and when possible brings him coffee and breakfast on her way to work. Two men in a van scare her after she closes and locks up the clinic one night. At Jamie’s friends wedding she is obligated to accept a dance from the grooms very handsome firefighter friend.
The warehouse by the clinic where Jamie works and her vagrant friend sleeps catches fire and he was carried out and was taken to the hospital. This is the VERY BASIC BEGINNING to a Wonderfully Written Engaging Suspenseful Romantic Mystery Thriller....I just loved. I was given this and I voluntarily leave this review

A protector for Jamie

Jamie has sworn off men after her last man turned out to be a serial killer. Max has only just felt like he is living again after finally finding the arsonist who killed his wife and son. Can these two who get together due to circumstances beyond their control find the love that both don't realise they are looking for. Loved this book and would thoroughly recommend it to all readers who love great exciting tales.

Terrorism

What an awful thing to happen to a wonderful town. Jamie is working as a nurse at the Free Clinic and is happy helping people. She had a great time at Amber's wedding where she was linked up with Max. Max lost his wife and child in an arson fire years ago when he was a cop. Now he is finally looking at happiness again with Jamie, but first he needs to protect her.

Couldn't finish it

This story just dragged on and on... It was very unfortunate because I was very entertained at the beginning. But then it just began to drag. I didn't finish it.

I liked the story very much - though it took a very long time for it to get going. Max is a wonderful character and Jamie fits him just right. The both of them share quite a traumatic past. Max's might have the horrible one of the two of them.

Authors are ruining their books!!!

Started off as an interesting story. I was enjoying this book until the first swear word... Oh no... Continued reading hoping the language would not continue. Then the x rated sex started ruined the book for me.

I couldn't get into this story. I'm not sure what it is about the writing but I found it incredibly dull. I was surprised to see it was published in 2014 because it feels a lot more dated.

I bailed once I realised I was only 50% of the way through.

*I received this ARC from the author in exchange for a honest review*

MONTANA FIRE(Montana Promises #3) by Vella Day

Jamie Henderson is a nurse at a free clinic. For the last six months she's been dragging herself through life with no light in sight. With the recent betrayal of someone close, it's been difficult but Jamie is trying to put the pieces of her life back together. Then she's caused another emotional setback, she's tired of feeling scared and vulnerable. With a little help from a friend, Jamie is determined to try.

Arson investigator, Max Gruden
is called to a fire at an abandoned warehouse, where they find a man whose burnt and barely alive. After the victim is rushed to the hospital, a woman that has intrigued and interested Max for awhile tries to cross the police barrier. She's searching for answers about her friend who was found in the fire.

What appears as a straightforward arsonists-gang related fire, turns out to be anything but. Even though Jamie isn't involved, she finds herself a target of a terrorist plot. Max and Jamie's relationship is still is only in the development stages but he finds himself drawn to her and promises he will do everything in his power to keep her safe, but is it enough?

This is a charming story, I loved it. The storyline was interesting and intriguing, and filled with, drama, suspense, action, and romance. I loved the characters, who were really sweet and warm. Max and Jamie have great chemistry and relationship which comes across perfectly. This author has a great writing style and the story flows smoothly. A really enjoyable read!

I received this for a honest review. Though this book is book 3 in the series it works as a standalone. I personally have not read books one or two so I can honestly say that I had no trouble following along.

Jamie truly was an amazing woman. She had been through a lot. Jamie worked at a free clinic. She loved her work though it did not pay much. She was a woman that was very independent. She hated to own someone.

Max was just sexy as all get out. I so loved his character. He was every woman’s dream. He was a gentleman, protector, and had a good heart. He use to be a cop but after his wife and child had been murdered he became a fire inspector.

Jamie found herself in danger. It seemed like someone was after the people that worked at the clinic. No one seemed to know the reason. Whether it was drugs or some other reason. The people seemed to be targeting Jamie the most though.

Max was attracted to Jamie and was determined to keep her safe no matter what. Jamie was lucky to have such a handsome knowledgable man protecting her. He could almost predict how the bad guys would think.

Seems like no matter how much they hid the bad men found them. Max and Jamie will need to finger out why they are after Jamie before they can take down the bad men.

You are probably wonder if there are any hot steamy parts to the story. Well of course. Thing get hot and heavy between Jamie and Max. Jamie is wonder after everything comes down if she will just become a booty call or if Max will want to pursue a relationship. Sorry you need to read the book to find out.

This is book 3 of the Montana series and it did not disappoint. This may have been my favorite of the three so far and the first two were hard to beat.

This book had mystery, emotional turmoil, and all in all was a great read.

The characters where well written. They story line flowed really. The only negative thing was the solving of the crime was kind of anti climatic. It was more of a "Oh! we caught the bad guys...sorry you missed it" sort of thing.

I can not wait for book 4! I like how there are so many characters involved that the story has many places to go. One thing I would have liked to have seen was more of the characters from the previous two books. I love series books that keep us in the loop about what is happening to the previous characters and have them involved with the current story line but not take over. They were not as involved in this one was they were in book 2. Maybe in book 4 we will learn more about the now 3 couples as well as the upcoming couple.

This book can be read as a stand alone but I don't recommend it. The series itself is just that good and you don't want to miss out. This book is not like book 1 and 2 with the menage so don't be surprised when its just 2 people falling in love.

Now, hurry up and don't delay...Press the one click button..You know you want to. Don't worry...I won't tell anyone if you do :)

Well, she did it again! Vella never disappoints in her writing. This book was a fast paced read. I couldn't put it down because right after one this happened and kind of started to settle down, something else would be discovered. Working in the medical field, it was easy to relate to Jamie. My emotions were all over the place reading this book. My heart went out to her with how she had been treated in the past. And Max, oh how I cried. I can't even imagine the tragedy. Both these characters hit close to home for me. Jamie because of the medical field, and Max because my hubby was a cop for years. Lol. All the characters in this book were well developed. And it was a nice mystery that kept me guessing all the way through. I'm so bad to cheat before the end because I can't wait. I honestly want to hear more about this couple in the future and what they are up to. To be honest, I don't read a lot of romance unless it's paranormal romance. But this was just perfect. You have the romance plus intense suspense and mystery. What more could you ask for.

This book may be called Montana Fire, but it was so hot I felt it in South Carolina! The heat between Jamie and Max is undeniable and unfightable by them and anyone around them. You can feel the tension and are drawn into their stories. Their friends are smart and love them and want to see them both happy again. Both Jamie and Max have been through things that no person should have to endure, but they did and they both survived although both came through with pieces of their hearts missing which everyone can relate to on one level or another. The suspense added even more heat to an already red hot burning story. This story has it all from beginning to end and it keeps you on edge. It was a definite great read and one to keep because I will be going back to read this when I am looking for that hot read on a cold winter night!

One evening after locking up the clinic where she worked, Jamie is chased by two men. She narrowly escapes by entering back into the clinic. After a mysterious structure fire sends a homeless man she has befriended to the hospital, she tries to make sense of his cryptic ramblings. Max stumbles upon Jamie as he is investigating the fire and soon discovers she is in danger. Taking her under his wing, the story heats up in more ways than one.

This suspenseful story moves at a good pace allowing the reader to make their own speculations. The main characters have good chemistry and create a believable partnership in their quest. I absolutely loved the suspenseful storyline. It kept me guessing until the very end. This is the first book I have read in this series, and it was great as a standalone even though it is part of a series.

OMG Compelling!

I was absolutely blown away by this book! Not only does it grab your attention and keep it with its many twists and turns, but it tugs at your emotions like many others don’t!

Having no experience in the medical or arson field does not matter in this book, as the author doesn’t use terms that force the reader to stop and look them up. Jamie the nurse is brave and wonderful, while Max is fierce and protective. Both approach things differently but in a way that compliments the other, instead of opposing forces.

I picked this up and had it read cover to cover in less than 24 hours, it was that good. And for those that love contemporary romance novels, you WILL want to read this one!

MONTANA FIRE VELLA DAY
Life in Rock Hard Montana is Hot especially after arson takes down an old ware house and a “homeless man” is injured but why and who is he really. Then the free clinic where Jamie works is broken into the thieves are looking for something but what?
There is a definite suspense theme here but the sexual tension between Jamie and Max is high and ignites fairly quickly before they spontaneously combust! Heat level in this novel should be labelled as dangerous as sparks flare frequently and in interesting places. There is love and hope for the future.
Montana fire possesses all the factors for a steamy romantic suspense and I highly recommend this for a five alarm read!
