The action smacks of black ops, but Mack Bolan is willing to deal himself into the game at Stony Man's bidding, riding shotgun with Cobra Force Twelve on a mission to round up the worst of the worst, from Africa through the Middle East. It is a quick and dirty sweep of the most wanted of global terror.
But Bolan's gut tells him something is wrong from the start, and that Colonel Ben Collins and his force of hardcases are into more than American justice-- something that smells like blood and betrayal. Playing it out long enough to separate the truth from the lies, the Stony warrior wades through the slaughter zones, hunting the enemy and watching his back. If some or all of Cobra Force turn out to be vicious, merciless predators hiding behind the Stars and Stripes, they'll learn the sword of justice cuts both ways.
This book seemed particularly dark and savage compared to the rest of the series. It’s well written, and I think it’s probably just me and thinks it seems particularly dark. The premise of the book is that the Executioner was asked by our government to accompany a mission from the CIA to deal with terrorists across the globe. Unfortunately, at least some of the missions members are compromised and are acting as double or independent agents. They are willing to kill anyone who gets in their way, no matter which side that person happens to be on.
I did not enjoy this story. Mack teaming up with a sadistic traitor that tortured numerous people in front of Mack and just letting it go. This team was rotten and Mack knew it but he still let his guard down to be grabbed and beaten up. just not a book that kept my version Bolan in mind of the author
