Sydnee Rose is a dedicated marriage therapist, known for her ability to mend relationships and guide couples through their toughest challenges. Yet, behind her professional facade, she is crumbling. Struggling to maintain her own failing marriage, she feels the weight of her unfulfilled life pressing down on her.
When Noah Stallard, a devoted single father of a disabled child, enters her office for therapy, Sydnee is immediately drawn to his warmth and resilience after a life changing event. As they navigate the complexities of love and family, Sydnee unexpectedly falls for Noah, whose kindness and dedication challenge her understanding of what love should be.
But as their connection deepens, past traumas and unresolved issues resurface, creating emotional hurdles that threaten to tear them apart. Together, they must confront their fears and learn to trust again, forging a bond that promises healing for both their hearts and families.
Will Noah & Sydnee fight to overcome their pasts, discovering that love can be a powerful catalyst for change—if they’re willing to embrace it, no matter the odds?
The love story in I Rose to Become by Netra Antoinette is beautifully crafted. While the book addresses some heavy topics, they are handled with care and sensitivity. Watching Noah and Sydnee fall in love on the pages was an absolute delight. Despite coming from different backgrounds and experiencing their own traumatic events, they refuse to let those challenges prevent them from discovering true love in each other.
❤️ARC Review ❤️ This was so good, the book flowed really nicely! This book will definitely make you extremely mad but also happy at the same time! Because watching the FMC experience some terrible things but to watch her come out on top was amazing 🤗 I really enjoyed the journey ❤️ I can’t wait to read more from this author ❤️❤️❤️
3.5 ⭐️ This was a story of two individuals healing from two different losses. Learning to forgive and understand they’re worthy, in spite of those who fumbled them. Noah was a breath of fresh air that Sydnee needed to experience, which she accepted once she got out of her head.
Sydnee and Noah went through a lot in this book in their relationship. They both had insecurities they had to deal with due to their past relationships but I think her being a therapist helped them in discussing how they were feeling and working through it together. I appreciated the role her friends played in her life because they helped her to see that some of her actions weren't the best especially f she wanted to have a healthy relationship with Noah.
I was a little annoyed at her actions when the mother of his child came around and I felt he should have said more then but it worked out the way it should have for them. I would have liked to understand a little bit more of how she got into the situation she was in before him because even though it came up in the story, I didn't fully grasp it, could be a me issue. Overall I thought it was a nice, story.
4.5 ⭐️This was a recommendation from Tylee on Bootok and I was so invested in Noah and Rose’s story. Both were going through it while starting their healing journey. They found eachother in an unconventional way but their instant bond was adorable. There was some hiccups and a twist I wasn’t expecting but it gave just enough drama to keep you reading. Loved Rose’s character development. For this to be this author’s first book, she did that. Short read with short chapters. I recommend.
I enjoyed this read! This was the authors debut novel and I think she did an amazing job! There were so many representation presented and I enjoyed it! Both Noah and Sydnee both had to overcome a lot to get to their happy place. I was not expecting the twist with Ebony at all! Overall really great job and even the sneak peek has me intrigued for the next installment..
An EXCELLENT read‼️ “I Rose To Become…(The Hideaway Haven) - Book 1” was a riveting story of two soul emaciated for family, love & affection, merely existing verses apologetically living their dreams, goals & or desires. …when you become the rose 🌹& not a relegated thorn 😓…then an epiphany occurs 🧐…you realize not enough, is more than enough & enough is enough only then does the primrose blooms 🏵️‼️Beautiful 🥹👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽‼️
This book was so beautifully written and the characters developed perfectly. Syndee’s life was living out through an arranged marriage until something opened up a new door. This was a good telling of a “Rose growing through the concrete”. Love wins in the end and I love that for her. But the way I had to sit my tablet down on page 130 😩🥴😭 I giving it a 4.5🌟
Netra always knows what to say! Im so happy to be a Netra STAN because she doesn’t do any wrong in her writing! The healing in her storytelling is impeccable ❤️ Reading this story helped me realize that you can overcome anything and still rise to be the most beautiful “Rose” in the garden! This story was emotionally beautiful!
I adored this book, short read but you get everything. Character and plot depth. A story of self discovery and resilience and I can’t believe it was 162 pages because everything was so well paced but you got so much. This is so so good!
ARC REVIEW: This was a beautiful love story that took me on an incredible journey. I wanted to laugh, cry, scream, smile, scream again and more. This was a really good debut novel! Don't want to say too much but Ms. Netra definitely had me looking like 😳 a few times.
What a great read. A woman comes from such a sad life and braves it to find redemption. This is a fast paced story that was a really enjoyable read. You definitely fall in love with the characters :)
New to me author. She did not disappoint,it was a great plot. Honestly I could have used more but I cannot wait until the next book. Sydnee definitely bloomed for sure. ❤️❤️
This was a good read to pull me out of my reading slump! It took a turn that I didn't see coming, but should have seen coming. I smiled most of the book and really enjoyed the characters!
I had the best time reading this book! While there are some parts I felt bad for Syd for- she needed to go through the trenches to come out stronger! Noah grew so much in this book and the way he cherished Syd 🤌🏽 I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!!!
I received this book as an ARC by Ms. Netra herself and I could not be more grateful!
