Best book I've read in years

I have read many apocalypse/EMP series. This one is terrific. The character development is superb, allowing the reader to understand and empathize with their decisions and dilemmas.

One outstanding characteristic is that none of the main characters is without flaw. Many writers tend to neglect that key detail, making characters one dimensional and fake. These folks seem like people you could know.

There are multiple plot lines involving different people, so when one is resolved, plenty remain to spur on the reader. I read this series in a matter of days, but there were many points where I could not put my Kindle down, and read more hours of the day than not.

These characters are a great mix of types, with people who are vulnerable and caring, as well as military men and law enforcers who are more hardened or stoic. There are plenty of descriptions of firearms and battle to keep those interested engaged. I had that tense, edge-of-my-seat feeling many times.

This is the second series I've read by this author. Both were very good, so I'm thrilled to add Kyle Stone to my "must read" list of authors.

Lost Light Apocalypse reimagined

This is the best book about an apocalypse! I was enthralled about how the Sun’s bursts of electromagnetic energy could bring the world to a crashing halt by frying the electricity we all depend on so dearly.

I loved how it started at “Day 1” and continued through subsequent days until the end of the last book.

The characters were believable and the “stories” within the story were well thought out and shocking.

In the books, there was an incredible amount of violence but what else do you expect during the survival of an apocalypse and the fight for life and freedom.

Oh I so love her books and although all good this series was just riveting. So hard to put down. One of those books where you want to know what happens, whilst not wanting it to end. They are all books I know I could read again too. That's because the characters are so plausible, just like people we know! I got so involved with them. When reviewing a book I don't write spoilers or much about the story, all I will say is the writer must have a lovely empathic, non judgmental personality to be so talented in her writing. I'm almost reminded of Stephen King in this respect. U are white knuckles, edge of seat all the way through. Thoroughly recommend if you like post apocalypse thriller-type books. U will not regret obtaining these.

WELL DONE! This was fantastic. Particularly I enjoyed the perspective being from people who really had no connection to the actual event itself or any say in how it was handled. So often the characters of these survival thrillers have some sort of major impact but instead Kyla Stone focuses on a more localized story as the world altering event is happening. A bit like The Walking Dead.

I listened to the audible version of this box set. I’ve read a few Kyla Stone post-apocalyptic series and this was my favorite. The thriller aspect underlying the survival story worked well and kept me wanting to always see what would happen next.

A town

This series was great. It kept you wondering what was going to happen next. All the things the people livedt thru was horrible. I hated that Jackson died he should have survived somehow .

The first book was good but as the story went on I found the long descriptions of battle and killing too much.
