I’ve had this book for years and have flipped through it many times, but I’d never read the introduction or baking tips. Great history and information! One day I’ll have to try my hand at baking biscotti.
These recipes are really, really good and flavor packed but in general, I found them difficult and frustrating to make. The Cioccolato Paradiso has been my absolute favorite so far. They make fabulous Christmas gifts for any coffee drinkers or to take to the office. These aren't like regular cookies - the dough is sticky and there's more steps involved than just "drop and bake" but the effort is well worth it if you like these hard cookies.
My Aunt Peg gave me this book. I HIGHLY recommend it, even if you only use one recipe in it. The Candied Orange Pecan Biscotti is a heavenly work of art. Even my husband, who never liked biscotti before, loves this one. I might suggest dipping one end in dark chocolate for a little over the top indulgence....hmmm.
These are great recipes packed with flavor. I've made the Biscotti Toscani (almond) and Double Chocolate Biscotti from this book for years and they are always appreciated. They make great teacher gifts and travel well for holiday get-togethers. The only drawback is the small type on the ingredient lists, which is getting harder to read as I get older!
While I love biscotti, I have not made a ton of these cookies, but the range of options for flavorings is very good, and there are side bar comments on how to make things that the recipe requires, like candied orange peel
Love this little mini baking biscotti book! It made how to make Biscotti an easy and do-able process. I've made nearly everything in it, they all turned out perfectly. My friend Jeff gets a double batch of these every year and looks forward to the time when I bake them.
Great little specialty cookbook. The recipes are really good. It has a lot of tips for making excellent biscotti in your own kitchen. "Bravo Biscotti".
