I really applaud these fun, interesting stories for English learners.
This one wasn't my favorite (I've been reading a lot of them, so I can recommend them to my students). It was exciting, but the characters did some really stupid things, and the way they used the term "blood diamonds" just felt off to me, even for a simplified version of English. Still, it's a quick-moving, entertaining story that will help students enjoy reading in English.
1 CAMBRIDGE LEVEL1 2 5/28=60minutes 3 blood diamonds, guns, Africa, journalists, police, sell, buy 4 a) Krkpatrick and Shepherd are journalists. They are writing about blood diamonds. Van Delft is a businessman and he buys and sells guns and diamonds. b) Diamonds usually buy food, water and so on but blood diamonds buy guns and make people sad. Therefore I hate blood diamonds. 5 If this story is true, I am so sad. Diamonds make us happy but blood diamonds make people sad. When someone buys guns with diamonds and people die from the guns, the Diamonds become blood diamonds. Blood diamonds are sold to get guns and kill people. It is so sad for me, but I cannot recognize which is blood diamonds or not.

I have watched "Blood Diamond" starring by Leonard DiCaprio before, and I thought this book would be kind of the same one or the original one. But it is completely different and there was any relations between them.
