A biography of world heavyweight boxing champion, Frank Bruno, which examines the determination of the sportsman to regain his title, failing three times against Witherspoon, Tyson and Lewis before realising his dream last year.
Reading this was a bittersweet experience, as it comes just a few years before Bruno’s highly publicised mental health crises - which thankfully he appears to have moved past now.
It’s not going to win the Pulitzer Prize, but this is a solid biography with great inputs from the man himself. Frank comes across really well here, which is hardly surprising, and I especially enjoyed the run down of all of his fights, with Frank giving us an insight into his thoughts and feelings on each one.
