King Series #2

King of Clubs

Rate this book
When an impetuous decision is the catalyst for new beginnings, proving there is strength in loving and being loved.

Following the unexpected loss of her parents and escaping the horrors of a toxic relationship, Marlee Harting finds herself a shell of the bright, outgoing person she once was. With a coffee in hand, she knows the only direction from rock bottom is onwards and upwards and that starts with rediscovering herself again.
Love is the last thing on her mind, until she meets the owner of the hottest club in Sydney. A ridiculously regimented man – with his devilish smile and mouth watering forearms – determined to challenge everything she thought she knew and ignite desires she never thought possible.

Sebastian Micallef has carved a life for himself on his own terms, breaking free from the constraints assumed by his upbringing. Content in the shadows as the owner of a popular city nightclub, he is living his dreams with a control he holds firmly to his chest.
Finding someone to share his life with has never been on the agenda, nor has he ever been swayed by the distractions of a woman - until he encounters Marlee. Waltzing in she brings a splash of colour to his carefully organised world, enticing him to no longer walk alone, and forcing him to question his otherwise grey existence.

She painted his meticulous world with her vibrant chaos, however, can The King of Clubs forego control when she needs him the most.

Part 2

I had the best intentions for the 2nd part, but sadly it didn’t work for me.
The mcs didn’t manage to hold my interest, the story was drawn out and so many thoughts and monologues tired me… 😔

I loved King of Hearts so I was excited to get my hands on King of Clubs!

When we left Marlee in book one, we could see something wasn’t right in her relationship with Lucas and it’s discovered pretty quickly here that we were right. As Marlee is getting back on her feet after leaving her abusive ex, she crosses paths with Seb, the broody bar owner who is also a friend of her BFF’s fiancé. They are instantly drawn to each other, but Marlee finds it hard to trust and Seb has never had an actual relationship. Seb is really such a sweetheart with her…he’s patient, supportive, protective, and really tries to be what she needs.

These two had great chemistry and tension from the start and the spice scenes were a good mix that reflected the feelings at that point of the storyline. Some were fast, some were slow, some showed a willingness to take some risks.

The only thing that threw me was her BFF’s lapse during the plot twist. I won’t say more, but it really didn’t track with how protective of Marlee she had been up to that point.

A change-up from the first book, this one comes with some trigger warnings, a little suspense, and a plot twist. While it’s a standalone in the connected series, I would really recommend reading King of Hearts first.

A big thanks to Vyk Peters and Netgalley for this ARC! I’m really looking forward to Cooper and Eva’s story 😊

Marlee makes a break from her abusive relationship, but it leaves her with scars and panic attacks. Sebastian, a club owner, had to play man of the house after his father left. Both are damaged. Story has some emotional components, but I found the narrative to be more on the surface, except for the spice. Thanks to netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

When I read the first book in this series I didn’t know it was a series, so getting to know Marlee was an absolute treat. On the surface she’s outspoken, a bit irreverent and has a wonderful relationship with Arna (from book 1) and her family . When she’s MIA for a while and not herself readers wondered why, and in King of Clubs we find out why.

King of Clubs explores the relationship between Marlee and the enigmatic Seb, club owner and mate of Andy (from book1). There’s a central theme of intimate partner violence, so be mindful of this is triggering. It provides a different perspective and dynamic for a relationship, with Marlee and her capacity to choose, and re-establishing her sense of personal identity. Seb is an interesting character, one I’m still not sure what to make of, but a reflection of him is his strong familial connections and fierce loyalties of his closest friends.

It’s quite long, and there’s a twist that felt a little much though it was not quite what I’d anticipated.

Marlee is an absolutely firecracker so it was great to have her story!

Thanks to Vyk Peters for a hard copy of the book. As a series visually as well, they’re simply stunning for those aesthetic, tactile, physical copy book lovers

Thank you to Vyk Peters and NetGalley for giving me early access to this book.

Let me start by apologizing because I remember absolutely nothing from the first book. Oops.

This one? It's fine. Not bad, not amazing—just okay. Sebastian and Marlee were clearly meant to be, and the tension between them was thick from the very start. But the storyline? Took some weird turns. And honestly? It dragged on a bit too long.

Also, fair warning—there are some pretty heavy topics in this one. So, if you’re picking it up, be prepared.

King of Clubs by Vyk Peters
King Series #2

Grabbed me and wouldn’t let me go ~ Couldn’t put it down

What I liked:
* Marlee Harting: psychologist, lost her parents, fell for the wrong man, managed to escape, survivor, strong, capable, good friend, meets and falls for Sebastian
* Sebastian Micallef: owner of club Nexus, father walked out when young, loves his mother and sister, responsible, protective, goal-oriented, good friend, rather taken with Marlee
* That both main characters are mature, communicate openly and honestly, and grow as they open up to one another ~ They are perfect for and with each other in and out of the bedroom
* Arna: Marlee’s best friend and there for her when she left Lucas, in a loving relationship with Andy and their story was book one “King of Hearts”
* That this book stands alone without having read book one
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing
* That I became immersed in the story and cared about the outcome
* The women friends, their friendship, and how they are there for one another
* Eva: Sebastian’s younger sister, numbers smart, would like to find out if she will end up with Cooper
* Cooper: Sebastian’s best friend, wealthy, parents distant, whiskey maker, intriguing
* Reading a new-to-me author that I feel has a brilliant future
* Too many things to itemize

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Marlee’s abusive ex, her stalker, and the creepy doorman
* Thinking about abuse…how the abuser justifies and enjoys what they do and the pain of the person on the receiving end

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op ~ This is my honest review.

Thank you Vyk Peters for the ARC!

I really enjoyed the first book (and I may still have a bit of a crush on Andy), so I was excited when this arc appeared in my inbox. Marlee’s storyline in the first book caught my attention, and I was eager to see where the sequel would take us. I buddy-read this one with my friend Chrissa, which was a fun experience.

While there were elements I appreciated, I struggled to connect with this particular story. For a book of this length, the relationship between Marlee and Sebastian developed quite quickly, and it didn’t feel entirely realistic, which left me feeling a bit disconnected.

I also felt that the themes of domestic violence and PTSD weren’t explored as deeply or accurately as they could have been, which affected my overall reading experience. It felt like Marlee’s decision to open up about Lucas’s abusive behavior came a bit late in the book, around 80%, and it made the pacing feel off.

The middle of the book also felt somewhat flat to me, and the plot twist didn’t quite resonate—it didn’t seem to align with the rest of the story.

On a positive note, I really enjoyed seeing Marlee and Arna reconnect. It was great to watch them rebuild their quirky friendship, especially after the tension caused by Marlee and Lucas’s relationship.

I’m hoping the next book explores things a bit better and gives the characters more time to develop.

Honestly i dont know where to start!

Firstly a huge thanks to Vyk Peters for reaching out and giving me a ARC! I was insanely grateful when she gave me the opportunity to read King of Hearts as a ARC. Now the second time around im even more thankful.

King of Hearts was my best read of 2024 so Miss Vyk put the bar high for round 2 and she didn't disappoint!

This book is about Sebastian a hot and secretive club owner who falls in love with the damaged ray of sunshine named Marlee.
They keep bumping into each other (literally ;) ). The absolutely hot steaming romance is droolworthy! After reading that i need a pocket-sized Sebastian to put in my bag and never let go.
The energy that man radiates is insane!

Book one was angsty but this phfewww! Jealousy, manipulation and so much more is just chefs kiss.
A book rarely makes me want to strangle someone, or multiple someone's ;) but this one did it!

Im so incredibly ready for book 3 and 4!
The only thing i can do is wish for more steamy romances!

My only gripe with the book is the length. If there were like 70 pages less in the middle or more action it would be 1000/10. It just started to drag. But despite that i still thoroughly enjoyed myself.

This book convinced me i just need a one way window and a hot club owner boyfriend!

OOOOFT!
King of Hearts was good. But this was GREAT.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of King of Clubs and it did not disappoint.

Marlee’s growth across the end of KoH and throughout KoC was beautiful to watch.

Seb was…. Seb was TO DIE FOR.

It took a darker turn than I expected, but if you know what I regularly read, you’ll know I was SO HERE FOR IT.

I think Vyk is just getting better and better as this series grows and I’m so excited to read about Jack next… and hopefully Coop too ;)

Sweet & spicy romance

4⭐️ 3🌶️ Book 2 in the King Series

Marlee is in therapy and has panic attacks after leaving her abusive ex. Sebastian (Seb) is the broody nightclub owner. Marlee is Arna’s best friend, and Seb is Andy’s best friend (Andy & Arna are the MCs from book 1). Marlee and Seb have instant chemistry but she is uncertain about trusting someone since her last toxic relationship (she also thinks she’s a mess and has too much ‘baggage’). They have great banter, and Seb likes her refreshing honesty. She eventually lets down her walls and tells him about leaving her ex, and her parents’ tragic death in a car accident. Seb is only soft for her and he’s just so sweet and thoughtful (but dominant in other ways 🫠🥵). The scene in his office above the nightclub? 🔥 Did I also mention he wears gray sweatpants? Seb is patient and supportive but doesn’t treat Marlee like she is breakable. I love the found family in this - Seb, Cooper (whiskey distillery owner), Andy, Jack, Jay all play poker together. While Marlee, Arna, Eva, Felicity (Flick) are fierce and loyal as a girl group.

‘And when he ended our kiss and told me he was going to cook me dinner because I would need sustenance for what he had planned, I very nearly melted on the spot.’

‘When I left Lucas, I gave up on the idea of finding my happily ever after, but with Sebastian, my heart began beating again and those dreams didn't feel so outlandish.’

“So, please, let me take care of you the way I want to. The way you deserve."

"Will you dance with me?" He asked, his expression adorable as a few raindrops hit and slid down his face.

"You will have the love they had, Marlee.”

‘For the very first time, I felt a glimpse of the love my parents shared. Was this what it felt like? Was this how it was supposed to be?’

Read this if you like:
*Grumpy/Sunshine
*He falls first
*Obsessed MMC
*Found family
*Grief/loss
*Hurt/Comfort
*Trauma/healing
*Therapy rep

I’m looking forward to Jack’s story (he plays on the Hearts with Andy) in book 3, then hopefully Cooper’s story in book 4. 🫶🏻

Content warning: domestic violence, coercive control, intimate partner violence, stalking.

REVIEW 📢
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

King of Clubs is book two in the King Series, which can be read as standalones, BUT the introduction of characters and transition into this story was everything. There is not one character in this story that you do not become attached to and are eager to know more about; except you know who *read it and find out*

Vyk writing style is EVERYTHING ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
I absolutely fell in love with the first book. This second book is a part of the same world with existing characters we have met, BUT a story that does not even compare! This story was everything I didn't realise I needed 👏🏽👏🏽

This story follows Marlee, who we meet in the first book, who is just an overall great human being. She is sweet, good, with a touch of sass and banter! She is in a DA relationship, and you see a broken and dark side, but she works through this, and her growth is everything ✨️

Sebastian is the MMC in this story. We met him briefly in book one. He is rough around the edges, never lets anyone in, and a grump. He is loyal, dedicated to his goals, kinda OCD, tattooed, loves some public loving, and is the perfect book boyfriend 🥵

I became so attatched to both of these characters and absolutely loved watching each of their growth throughout this story! I absolutely adore the side characters introduced along the way and would like a story for each. Please and thank you 👏🏽

I would recommend this story to everyone. It was such a great read and different from all the rest of the romances I have read lately! These can be read as a standalone, but emotionally was so much more because I got to know Marlee in the first book and see what a good person and friend she was! I was attached to her before I picked up her book, which made this book so much more!

* received an ARC for a fair and honest review *

I am in absolute awe of Vyk and It’s time you know her too because her writing is phenomenal. Plus she’s just an all round amazing person. 💜

This is the second book in the Hearts Series and I was blown away by Vyk’s writing. I highlighted so much on my kindle, it was kinda obsessive. I fell so in love with Vyk’s descriptive writing, it flowed effortlessly across the pages like silk through fingers. As I was reading this and I was actually sending Vyk my thoughts at 20% intervals, I might share them eventually because they give you an insight into the ride you want to be on. The suspense throughout had me captivated, I read King of Clubs IN A DAY!!

Marlee and Seb were everything I was expecting plus 1000, they were hot… OMG were they HOT!! The slow burn had you aching for them.
Sebby baby with Marlee… where to begin? He was so thoughtful and sensual in all his interactions with her and the chemistry was on fire. He was broody, and so delicious… the man you know will crumble and fall to his knees for his girl. I love how flustered Marlee gets by him. He’s so smitten with her, his demeanour is so arrogant but so right. Just wait for him to crack, because you just know he’s going to be so delectable.
Marlee was beautiful, hilarious and my heart ached for her trauma. The trauma that was written in the most true and sensitive way. Her character development is all round the best and at about 80% you notice her start to show how sassy, confident and fiery she is. The spark she lost is a fire burning bright. Marlee was just so wholesome as a FMC, I wouldn’t change anything about her. Her friendship with Arna and the other girls was perfection. I just laughed so much at their antics.
This book is about fighting through the depths you didn’t think you could crawl out from, healing, friendship and love.

It’s literally got everything I love in a spicy book!!
Vyk Peters is becoming one of my most favourite Australian authors…

☀️We first met Marlee in King of Hearts…the girl with the bubbly personality and sassy attitude to match. She’s smart, quick witted, shy and like most of us, unsure of herself. A character we can all relate to, to some degree.
She’s strong and courageous and loves her friends fiercely.
The banter between her and Sebastian will have you giggling and squealing as you turn the pages. There just something about these two. And the office scenes….holy shit🔥🔥🔥

🥃Sebastian starts off as your typical broody male. He’s got strong work and family ethics and doesn’t have much time for bullshit. He seems to be quite content with his life, that is until he crosses paths with Marlee. She tempts him and pushes his buttons and ultimately drives him crazy with lust.
Some of the scenes will have you blushing.
As the story unfolds we see more of Sebastian’s protective nature come out. He’s demanding but in a very sexy way and he knows what he wants and what Marlee needs and delivers….multiple times🤭

This book has so many of my fave tropes but just check the TW because the plot does contain some sensitive elements. Which I believe Vyk Peters handled with empathy and compassion.

I seriously can’t wait for the next book.

Wow!!!!! King of Clubs was a rollercoaster of emotions - and please please please...check the trigger warnings on this one babes because it has some heavy subjects.

I went in to KoC blind after absolutely devouring King of Hearts and was ready to pledge my full allegiance to Andy and Arna, but that was before I was introduced to Sebastian and Marlee's story.

We briefly met Seb in King of Hearts and of course we met Marlee and the early stages of her relationship with he who shall not be named who was of course throwing off a million red flags. But when Seb finally meets Marlee, well ooooooh boy **fireworks**. Seb is the perfect hero that Marlee needs to get her through her journey in the right way (*cough* office one-way window IYKYK!).

Seb's inst-lust and touch-her-and d!e mentality is spot on and his internal monologue of not knowing how to deal with a woman when he wants to just wrap her up and cuddle her stuggle was so good.

Marlee and Arna's relationship was so nice. But also, I would like to go to the secret s#x dungeon that is actually just a bar where you can read books hahahaha!!
I recognised myself SO HARD in the scene of Arna and Marl's when they leave the book bar hahahahah!!!!

I loved the mental health representation (and a kick ass therapist) in the book and how the characters are late 20's/30's and mature where they know they need talk things through with each other and the aknowledgement that Marlee is a survivor of a situation that is not something of fiction and effects women all over the world every single day.

If King of Hearts made me fall in love with Vyk Peters, King of Clubs sealed the deal. This second instalment in the Kings series dives into the story of Marlee and Sebastian—and wow, it delivers.

After meeting Marlee in King of Hearts, I was desperate to know her story. It clung to me. Her pain, her resilience—it lingered. Vyk doesn’t shy away from the heavy stuff. Writing about domestic violence is no easy feat, but she handles it with sensitivity, honesty, and the right kind of nuance. Marlee isn’t saved by Sebastian—she saves herself. What he brings is space. Love. Boundaries. He becomes the quiet in her storm, not the solution but the support.

And let’s talk about Sebastian. Moody main men are my weakness, and he is it. Broody, but with a slow burn softness that Marlee coaxes out like whiskey melting over ice. Add in forearms to die for and black dress pants that live rent-free in my mind… yeah, I was a goner. The chemistry is explosive. There’s voyeurism. It’s steamy. Like—AC-blasting, fan-on-full, cold-shower steamy.

But it’s not just spice. There’s suspense too. Twists that had my heart pounding, and emotional beats that had me tearing up at the most unexpected moments. It’s tender and tense, raw and redemptive.

Oh - and watch out for Cooper! I want to read more about him! Is he our next King?

King of Clubs is about healing, desire, and reclaiming power. Vyk Peters has once again proven that she writes characters who feel like friends, wounds that feel real, and love stories that stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page.

Thank you to NetGalley and Vyk Peters for providing me with an eARC of King of Clubs in return for my honest opinion!

I read King of Hearts last year, and was absolutely stoked to find out we were getting Marlee's story in King of Clubs. Marlee's situation was heavy hinted at in KoH, but we get a much deeper insight into the toxic and abusive relationship with Lucas that she escapes at the beginning of KoC. Full credit must go to Peter's on how much care she has taken with writing on such a heavy and triggering topic, I feel that she has given us a true insight into the strength and courage it takes to leave and recover from domestic abuse. It was inspiring to see Marlee's strength and growth throughout the book.

In terms of the relationship between Seb and Marlee, again this was beautifully done. They had clear chemistry from the start, and the spice was certainly spicy! The dynamic between these two is great, they were both learning how to become vulnerable with one another. Seb was beautiful with Marlee, the typical "looks scary" but is protective and thoughtful to his gal. I found myself crying happy tears for Marlee, she deserved to find happiness and to see what a healthy and happy relationship could be.

The ending was really intense, I did not see the plot twist coming at all! I feel that in KoC there has been set ups for at least another 3 couples in future books, so I cannot wait to see where this series goes next!

Firstly I would like to thank the wonderful Vyk for the opportunity to read her book King Of Clubs which is the second book in the King Series. I absolutely loved this book. I could not put it down and when I was finished I had no idea what to do next.

King Of Clubs follows Marlee and Sebastian. From the moment we meet Marlee in book one she intrigued me and I wanted more. I loved every minute of her story. The moment her and Sebastian meet you can feel the fates entwining these two. These two go through some things together and seperate, but this all makes them stronger. Their journey kept me on the edge of my seat.

These two have such a special connection ♾️, wonderful chemistry 🧬, and great banter 🤭. Marlee doesn't trust easily but Sebastian is so sweet, caring and patient. Sebastian left me in a puddle of goo🫠. The spice is next level 🥵🔥🥵🔥 A cold shower will be required after the club scene.

Vyk girl you know I love this series with my whole heart. I need more Sebastian 😍😍 for now he will remain living rent free in my head. Guys, don't sleep on this series. Make sure you grab your copy's today.

And if you want some pretty shelf trophy's check out Vyks website. They are stunning and I have one of each edition 🤭.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and was eagerly anticipating Marlee’s story. So, when this ARC landed in my inbox, I was thrilled to see where Marlee and Sebastian’s journey would take us.
Unfortunately, this one didn’t quite meet my expectations and left me feeling disappointed. I felt that the DV aspect wasn’t portrayed accurately, and the relationship between Marlee and Sebastian developed too quickly, making it hard for me to find it believable.

The plot felt disjointed and inconsistent, leaving me confused throughout. The storyline involving Adam was particularly baffling, and the resolution left me frustrated. An additional flaw was Lucas’ sister, Lori her sudden personality shift was jarring and didn’t make sense. By the time I reached the last 20% of the book, it honestly felt like I had picked up an entirely different story.

I loved seeing how Marlee always knew she could count on Arna, even when their friendship was strained. It was wonderful to watch their bond blossom again, returning to the dynamic we cherished in book 1.

While this instalment didn’t quite live up to my hopes, I remain invested in the world and the characters. I'm hopeful that the next book will bring the depth and development I was looking for and I saw in book 1, and I'm eager to see what’s in store for Jack’s story in King of Jokers.

King of Club Who? More Like King of My Obsessions

I see you, Vyk Peters. Someone really said, Oh, you thought Book 1 was good? Buckle up, sweetheart. And let me tell you—I BUCKLED. King of Hearts was one of my top reads of 2024, so obviously, I dove into this one like my life depended on it (even if my review game is running a little behind, don’t judge me).

And whew, everything in King of Club is on steroids. Book 1 had a few steamy scenes? Cute. This one? Marlee and Seb made sure I will never recover. The tension? The dominance? The absolute drool-worthy energy Seb exudes? I need him to be real, like, yesterday. And while we’re manifesting, someone find me a glass window immediately.

Now, Book 1 had a sprinkle of angst, but Vyk said, Nah, let's crank that dial all the way up. We got a jealous, manipulative witch stirring up trouble? Check. A sleazy doorman who doesn't understand the word no? Double check. And the pièce de résistance? Lucas, aka the absolute worst. I don't just want to fight him-l want to personally kick him in the nuts. Repeatedly.

This was too good, and I read it too fast. And yeah, I know Book 3 is about Jak (I'm ready), but let's be clear-I need to know what's happening with Cooper and Eva. I'll buy a plane ticket to Australia and personally harass the author until she delivers. That's not a threat, Vyk. That's a promise.

*King of Clubs* by Vyk Peters is an unforgettable rollercoaster of emotions. From the very first page, I was hooked by Marlee’s journey—her strength, resilience, and vulnerability. As the protagonist, Marlee faces incredible challenges, including overcoming toxic relationships, navigating self-doubt, and learning to trust herself in a world that constantly tests her. Every twist and turn in her life had me both cheering for her and wanting to hug her in empathy.

What I loved most about this book was how it made me feel everything. I laughed out loud at the sharp wit and playful moments, and I couldn’t help but kick my feet during the sweet, romantic scenes that had me swooning. But there were also times when I had to pause, take a breath, and wipe away a tear—Peters masterfully portrays the heartache Marlee experiences, making her journey feel deeply personal.

There were moments that made me scream in frustration, especially when Marlee faced betrayals or moments of self-doubt, but every emotional high and low brought me closer to her. By the end, I felt like I had grown with her. *King of Clubs* is a thrilling, heart-pounding ride of love, loss, and self-discovery that left me feeling fulfilled and inspired. Highly recommend!

Always a worry that the second book of a series ends up not being a patch on the first and authors lull you into a false sense …. Well VYK PETERS you proved that your writing is still on point.

VYK PETERS managed to not only write a second book that was just as funny but with a serious tone in parts, descriptive and loveable characters, it tied in nicely with King of Hearts. It was nice to have previous characters a part of this book, (cos who doesn’t like to read and imagine hot AFL players)?

KING OF CLUBS stood out from the first book bringing to light abusive behaviour by a partner. Although this is a serious topic and one not to be taken lightly, VYK PETERS managed to cover this behaviour with tact, dignity and realism.

KING OF CLUBS held my interest and I couldn’t wait to find out their story. Again there were parts that made me laugh out loud and earned me strange looks from the other train passengers together with a hint of sadness reading about issues that is a common occurrence in society.

Bring on the next book VYK PETERS I can’t wait to see what’s next.

After reading King of Hearts I was ready for the next book in the series soon as it dropped. I was so happy to get an advanced copy of King of Clubs. I really liked Marlee in King of Hearts and I was so glad when it was announced the next book would be hers. I had a feeling it would be based on a sensitive subject due to how King of Hearts ended. This book is based on a domestic abuse survivor so if this is a trigger for you this is a warning. I really loved seeing Marlee become stronger throughout the book and become more of her old self with the added strength and growth. I enjoyed seeing her dynamic with Sebastian where she would let herself become vulnerable with him showing how much she trusted him. There are a few twists and turns in the 2nd half of the book which definitely kept you guessing and the detective in me got this one wrong.

I really liked that Arna & Andy were still included in the book a decent amount, I loved Marlee & Arna’s friendship and wish I had that myself.

I was kindly gifted this in return for an honest review via Netgalley

ARC Review of King of Clubs by Vyk Peters

A spectacular read that has me wanting to grab the first book and read the whole thing again! Steamy chemistry and sweet moments.

Today was the day.
Marlee has recently - and abruptly - left her abusive and toxic relationship. She's now focused on restarting her life, and trying to get back out there with the help of her best friend and therapy!
One fateful poker night, she is finally introduced to the handsome and quiet brooding Sebastian.
Instant chemistry.
Now neither of them can get each other out of their heads.
When Marlee's nasty past starts to come back into her life, and her safety is in question, Sebastian is all too happy to step in and save the day. What he didn't prepare for was...when was he going to let her go?

Fantastic read! Adding the first book onto my TBR and going to reread the whole series again! Chemistry was excellent. Characters were great. We are given a twist that has you given a double dose of crazy unstable just to keep things interesting on top of the hot steaminess between our MCs.

Oh, OK! This book brought the plot with the spice! This romance book is the second book in the series and you can easily jump in to this book even if you have it read the series( it’s what I did 🤣). I really enjoyed both characters in this story. The mental health representation in this book was great. You don’t see it too often so when I find a book that shows positive mental health representation and what a person needs to get through anxiety or any other type of mental health issue I am thrilled. Now I loved how both main characters met and then that’s when some of the spice came in and it’s hard for me to decide how many 🌶️ to give this book because the first third of the book there wasn’t that much space but then once the spice started, it started getting spicy throughout the book show because this book still has plot. I’m gonna do three 🌶️. So all in all four ⭐️ and three 🌶️. If you need a good romance book that has plot and spice definitely pick this one up.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Can is the second book the heart series.

I was lucky enough to get an arc copy from Vyk and I am so happy. I was able to read this book and review it so everyone else can too .

We follow Marlee and Sebastian in this book Marlee is coming from a very tough situation and Seb is alone wolf.

I really enjoyed the story and there’s so many quotes are highlighted that it just absolutely fantastic and hot hot. I will say there was a lot of similarities between myself and Marlee which so this made this book very easy to connect to. However, I did write it for Star just because of Marlee’s character development. It just didn’t happen as quickly as I thought it would however Sebastian’s character development and complete understanding and caring over.

I rated this book for Star four Chili Peppers because the scenes that were hot we hottie hottie hottie hottie hot hot hot hot I don’t know how many more hot

I cannot wait for book 3 of this series

5 STARS ⭐️
VYK YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN 😍😩
You have nailed your debut and followed through with absolute ~ perfection ~ with Seb and Marlee. I felt every emotion alongside Marls and her growth was portrayed so beautifully and realistically. The way her sense of humour returned had me so happy that I just loved Seb more and more for it too.
And speaking of Seb. OOFT. That man deserves all the adoration and praise. His dominance, persona and then the way he opens up - I DIE 🥵
And lastly, I can’t not comment on Arna - she was the best thing in KoH and she didn’t disappoint - and now I’m so so keen for Coop and Eva. I know they will follow through.

Thank you for gracing us with this book. BROTHERS BEST FRIEND I’M READY FOR YOU😍😍
