It took several attempts before she sold herfirst book in 1987 and the delight of seeing that first book for sale in thelocal newsagents has never been forgotten. Now, there are over 10 million ofher books in print worldwide.
Lynne always wanted a large family and has five children. Her eldest and heronly natural child is 19 and currently at university. In Lynne's home, there is a rich and diverse cultural mix, whichadds a whole extra dimension of interest and discovery to family life. Thefamily lives in a country house surrounded by a woodland garden, which iswonderfully private. The family has two pets. Thomas, a very large andaffectionate black cat, bosses the dog and hunts rabbits. The dog is Daisy,an adorable but not very bright white West Highland terrier, who loves beingchased by the cat. At night, dog and cat sleep together in front of thekitchen stove. Lynne loves gardening, cooking, collects everything from oldtoys to rock specimens and is crazy about every aspect of Christmas.
This story is fast-paced and fun, featuring a unique twist on the marriage-of-convenience trope. Rosy, a palace art restorer, agrees to marry Crown Prince Alessio to save her family from financial ruin, and their developing connection is both sweet and spicy. Alessio's transformation from a rebellious prince to a loving husband is touching. Melanie Crawley’s narration adds charm to the story, making it a delightful listen. Highly recommend for fans of billionaire romances.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Feel-Good Romance with Two Adorable Leads❤️ — But Missing the Angst🔥
I absolutely love 90% of Lynne Graham’s books — she’s my all-time favourite romance author! 💝 Her stories usually give me all the emotional fireworks, passionate tension, and strong alpha heroes I adore. The Royal Bride Replacement had a lot going for it — especially two genuinely likeable characters — but it left me wishing for more of that trademark Lynne Graham drama.
The story centers on a handsome 28-year-old Italian prince from a tiny principality, getting ready for his arranged marriage to a neighbouring princess. One of the real highlights of this book is the prince himself. He’s not your typical alpha — he’s emotionally mature, fully committed to settling down, and desperate to have a family. He’s already lived the playboy life and has been celibate for over six months, honoring his commitment to his bride-to-be. Honestly, he’s one of the most loveable heroes Lynne’s ever written.
The heroine is a petite, talented art restorer working at the palace. Their first meeting is brief but memorable — the spark is immediate, though both try to ignore it. When the original bride backs out, she ends up stepping in as the replacement bride. Their dynamic is sweet, respectful, and warm — a true “feel-good” romance.❤️❤️❤️
But here’s the thing: I kept waiting for that big emotional punch — the “black moment” where everything falls apart before coming back together. There were two moments that felt like they were building to it, but both were resolved so quickly and rationally that the tension fizzled out. As much as I appreciated the maturity and sweetness, the story needed more intensity. A little angst, a bit of heartbreak, or even just one major emotional showdown could’ve made this a standout.
This is a gentle, low-conflict royal romance with plenty of heart — perfect if you're in the mood for something light and wholesome.
Charming characters, lovely setup — just missing that addictive Lynne Graham angst.🔥
Thank you to Harlequin Audio and NetGalley for allowing me to listen and review.
Melanie Crawley did a fantastic job with the narration of this audiobook. I loved the accents. I will be seeking this narrator out again.
This book was a fun, fast listen. Rosy is a fun character; you wouldn’t think she would agree to being Alessio’s replacement bride, but she does because it means getting her family out of financial peril. What Rosy or Alessio didn’t suspect was how they would both connect and fall for each other. The way they were each other's perfect pair. Rosy was hesitant because Alessio has a lot more experience than she does. I found the way Alessio falls for Rosy was sweet and spicy, and I loved it!
