Five stars again because both the heroine and her hero continues to be awesome. The plot thickens and some more information is revealed. If I had any complaints it'd be there are so few female characters besides the heroine, and if one appears they're usually a rival. That said I still enjoy watching the heroine's powers grow and how she crushes the obstacles in her path, as well as the fact that she continues to see through the cliched tropes and tricks that usually annoy me in stories.

"When you love me to the point that you can die for me, that is when I wouldn't stop you."
"Die for you? How laughable, what is the use in a dead man loving you? It is without reason."
"You wouldn't die. I would save you."

"I have to restrain my words and actions towards my subordinates, but I needn't do that with the person I love. I understand that now."

^Those are some of my favorite quotes in the book. I really love the mutual trust and respect the heroine and the hero are cultivating between each other. I was worried this might've ended up being a bit like how Elena and Raphael are in Nalini Singh's Guildhunter series, but even when the hero is being domineering, the heroine sees right through him and has him wrapped around her fingers and the important part is the main guy always respects her decision and doesn't force her not to do what she sets out to do just because he thinks it's 'dumb' and doesn't interfere unless SHE asks him to, letting her fight her own battles. He feels happiness at the idea that she would protect him. He feels happy that she's honest with him when she's crafty and filled with tricks towards other people and in turn she's happy that he doesn't hide his emotions with her (even if she's sometimes unsure about the PDA) and that just makes this couple so very adorable to me.
I really wish this book was also in English because I really want to gush over this book with my friends.
