God had to blind him for him to truly see. An accident has robbed Saul Sweeterman of his sight. Angry at the world, Aniyah ‘Annie’ Hays is the only person who can reach him. Her voice draws him like a siren. Saul falls for Annie hard and fast, not knowing that she’s of a different race.
As a physical therapist, Annie prides herself on her professionalism. But one glance into Saul’s deep blue eyes and she’s a goner. She’s falling in love and loving it, until she learns Saul opposes interracial relationships.
Since her heart refuses to cooperate, Annie wonders, Will Saul reject her because of the color of her skin? Loosely based on the story of Saul and the prophet Ananias, Color Blind promises to answer the question, Can you tell your heart who to love?

This is my first book by this author and I usually shy away from Christian fiction, but this book has changed my position on this.
Saul had a strong dislike for interracial relationships, so much that he stopped speaking to his daughter after she married a black man. He had an accident that left him blind and bitter.
Enter Annie, who was his therapist, he soon found himself falling for her but didn't know she was black. The author has done a great job of building up the characters and telling the story so that it was quite interesting.
Although I enjoyed the original premise of this book, it had a few issues (ex.lag, flow, dialogue, and the lack of multidimensional characters).
Other than that, it was a fairly decent sweet romance with a faith-based edge.
After reading this book, I believe that this author will get better with time. Hopefully, she will consider a better editor and a Beta reading group via Goodreads.
Overall, I enjoyed some parts of the book, but not all.
Colorblind is a clean, sweet story. It had a lot of Christian elements, but it fit with the story. This story is a parallel with a romantic twist of the biblical story of Saul the apostle and his journey in making peace with God.
Saul was a widower who had issues with people of different races having relationships despite the fact that his best friend being black. He even severed ties with his daughter because of the color of the skin of the man that she married. He stubbornly stuck to his ways despite it making him miserable. One day he got into an accident and lost his sight. The story is centered on him being rehabilitated and learning to live with this new disability.
Annie was Saul’s physical therapist. She was able to handle Saul and calm him like no one else could. Annie was a Christian, but she didn't preach to the Saul or even try to convert him. She just shared what she believed and it was during authentic times in the story. I liked the fact that Annie faced temptation once her and Saul grew closer; the author didn't write around human feelings that come up when a man and woman are attracted to one another.
Annie and Saul grew to know one another during his rehabilitation and fall in love. Annie did not know of Saul’s prejudices, and by the time she did, she had already fallen in love. Saul couldn't see the woman, but just knew her by her attitudes and actions and he loved her.
I think this is a good story for those who like Christian romances. The only issue that I had was with the ending, but it’s just personal preference of how I would have wanted the story to end, but I see where the author wanted to go with it.
I don’t mind christian literature it i do mind every other sentence to refer to God. I also mind people trying to convert everyone they meet. In my opinion it takes away the message. Her friend Sari was also the worst. She might be a Christian but she wasn’t very charitable. She kept trying to control Annie’s life and was confusing having money with having everything.
I have nothing against the author. None of my reviews are based off the author, of course. But...the book. I really wasted my time on this. Please, don’t ever read this unless you personally like storylines that jump around. I hated all the characters and I just didn’t care enough for them to continue reading. Honestly, it was a pointless book.
Story line had promise. I've read Christian romances before and enjoyed them (Kristy K James awesome reads Coach's boys) but this was to heavy handed with the Christianity. Which puts the story on back foot. It's a short story that felt longer.
This was an excellent read. My first by this author.
This is Saul and Annie’s story. Saul is an angry man who has lost touch with his only child because of his colour prejudice. Through very unfortunate circumstances he meets Annie and the attraction grows between them. What Saul does not know is that Annie is black. He loves her character and cannot see her colour.
This story does have a Christian theme and parallels are drawn to Paul (Saul) in the Bible when he lost his sight. This story is about love, forgiveness, letting go of stereotypes that parents imposed on a young mind and a past culture that still lives on today. The story speaks to the power of love and how love knows no colour bar.
The story is a sweet read, no heat, which it does not need. The story is captivating and a page turner. I would highly recommend this story. I look forward to the next IR story from this author because this one was the bomb!
Saul Sweeterman is a man who was raised by people who had very strong opinions when it came to race. Therefore, he has applied those same opinions and put them into practice in his everyday life. Such opinions have caused him to lose some of the very people he should hold dear. When tragedy strikes, Saul experiences darkness like never before and it’s in these times when he is affected by the unexpected.
Michelle Lindo-Rice delivers a message in this novella that is appropriate for all to read. As I read this book, I smiled, yelled and almost cried. I could feel the emotions that the characters displayed. This was such a page-turner. I loved every single chapter. The characters were great! The storyline was genuine. This was just a wonderful book! If you are looking for a quick read that is enjoyable and worth your time and money, Color Blind is your book! I give it Five Stars!!!!!
Michelle Lindo-Rice has penned a fantastic story with a lesson in love, trust & matters of the heart. Growing up with a family that taught you that you should date within your own race, Saul Sweeterman turned his back on his only child and risked losing the 1 woman he’s loved since his wife departed. Aniyah “Annie” Hays was the only person who could handle Saul and his surly attitude, but was able to ignite a fire within him that caused him to love again. After falling in love with him, she’s made aware of his prejudice stance and flees. Do you have a choice about who your heart tells you to love or the assignment God places on your life? Saul & Annie’s story will make you laugh, cry and have you screaming at the pages. I really enjoyed this story. 5 stars for this page turner.
I gave this only one star because of the underdeveloped characters and the storyline itself. The dialogue was not written as one would speak, but how someone would write making it unbelievably corny. Even though the story is biblically based the story is very unrealistic. I am a romance novel junkie but just because the storyline is written to follow Christian principles, it doesn't mean that the storyline should be dumbed down and overly preachy which this story is. Make the characters real and their struggles real! This story was just not a great effort to convince me that the authors writing style is anything I would purchase in the future.
Saul Sweeterman was a man brought up on the fact that race did matter to a certain extent and allows his beliefs to put distance between his love ones. But, when tragedy knocks at his front door he's forced to face the fact that he's been blind the entire time and sets out to get his family.....
I must say the author did a great job by getting me involved to the point I wanted to beat Saul myself. It was a fast read for me and I always enjoy a book I can read without dull moments. I recommend this for any type of reader... 5 ☆☆☆☆☆!!!!!!!
An excellent Christian love story. A story of true love. A love not seen but felt. Insecurities and prejudice could have kept these two apart, but thanks to a daughter who keeps it real and a woman of prayer who intercedes for the man she love , Saul and Anna embrace a love not chosen, but that just happened. A great book for Singles ministries. The author does a great job of incorporating stories of the bible. Her interpretation helped me really understand God's purpose in those stories.
3.00 stars. The storyline of this book was similar to "Ironic" by Pamela Leigh Starr; but, in my opinion, not as well written. The characters in Color Blind engaged in dialogue that seemed forced and unnatural, Saul Sweeterman wasn't just a racist, he was also mean and in need of anger management as much or more than the physical therapy. Aniyah "Annie" Hays was tiresome and needy and fearful.
awesome job Michelle!! I would have loved to have read a little to see Saul's relationship developed with Annie and how they would have handled the racial tension from family, friends, saints, and neighbors. Absolutely loved the book!
This was my first Michelle Lindo-Rice novel. The book was excellent. Saul had to face some hard truths regarding his character to earn Annie's love and trust and to regain the love and respect of his daughter. All in all, a very satisfying read!
I enjoyed this sweet love story. It was an easy read although it tackled some tough issues such as prejudice, unforgiveness and pride. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Great story!!! Very easy read! Definitely a page turner! Looking forward to reading more books by this author. This was my first time reading from this author!
This book is so inspiring, I can't fathom why there is so much racial unrest in the world today. God created us in His image, and He has no respect of persons, red, yellow, black or white, He created us. Why can't we take the scales off our eyes 👀and see the beauty of everyone an except them in Love without hatred, bitterness and racism. Everyone who has a problem with a different race, should read this awesome book! Kudos to Ms. Lindo-Rice..
This book is deep. You never know what God has in store for you if you don't give Him a try. This story has me on edge. The characters were intriguing. You never know who you will fall in love with. Never say never! Awesome job and I will be reading more of your books!
I loved this story of loss, racism, redemption and love. I loved the lessons on forgiveness, restoration and being used by God. Michelle Lindo-Rice, you and God did that thing and I’m glad I purchased all three books in the series at once so I don’t have to wait😂❤️🙏🏾
This was such a wonderful book. It opens eyes to how people's perspectives can change and make them better people. Thank you so much for your words. It was something that I needed to read.
I enjoyed this story immensely. It brought joy to my heart and a little healing. How powerful is God's love? Immeasurable! I cannot wait to read more from this author. Truly pleased that she shared this with us.
I love this modern adaptation of the story of Saul and the struggles that can occur due to how you raise your kids on race and interracial relationships. I love how the woman stayed true to her beliefs even though she struggled she stayed true throughout the entire book
