Busting BDSM club Decadence for drug trafficking is my chance to prove myself. And no pushy Dominant is going to throw me off my game, not even sinfully sexy club owner Derek Carter. I have to keep him close in order to uncover his secrets, but keeping him close to my body while guarding my heart is proving more difficult than I ever imagined.

He might just be my biggest mistake yet.

Audiobook review. Our main characters meet when Sharon, an FBI agent, goes undercover at Derek's BDSM club for an investigation. Sharon spends most of the book trying to be something she's not. Derek is patient with her, but I feel that they didn't get the chance to grow much as a unit before the story's pace sped up. While I liked the premise of the story, I didn't feel too strong a connection between the couple. Their intimate scenes were hot but nothing different or unique.

The plot itself ties well with others in the series. I've read them out of order and haven't read some but I don't feel like I'm missing anything vital in order to enjoy this one. I will say that reading the others adds a little more enjoyment as you can better understand the overarching plot and can see how the pieces fit.

The female narrator did ok but there were a few times when her inflections sounded off. The male didn't have as many lines but did well. Safety: No others after they meet. No rape but yes to an attempt. Yes to violence.

RECENSIONE QUI: https://thereadingslove.blogspot.com/...

description

Sweet lord why cant I find a man like Carter? These little boys ive been meeting have no idea what it means to be dominant. They think being a dominant is all take take take. I swear, the next man I meet I am shoving this book in his face and telling him to read it before he touches me. I swear, sometimes these books get me so jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Rogue is the third book in the Impossible series by Julia Sykes, and it’s yet another wonderful read. In fact, had I not already been addicted to this series Rogue would have guaranteed I was.

Before starting Rogue I was a wee bit disappointed, if I’m honest. In Savior I came to really enjoy a certain character and had hoped his story would be next. When I found out Rogue followed a different character the disappointment kicked in. Sure, I was interested in this story, but I was desperate to find out more about a certain male I’d fallen in love with.

As soon as I started Rogue, I quickly forgot about the story I had been hoping for. Rogue gripped me from the start, and I was addicted throughout. As with all the Julia Sykes books I have read, Rogue was an incredibly hot read. I fell in love with the chemistry between the characters and loved every moment of their interaction. I loved watching as they developed throughout the story, loved watching the way things changed between them, and could not get enough.

The only thing I expected a bit more of was the overarching storyline. Rogue works perfectly fine as a standalone, but in relation to the Impossible series I do not feel as though this one added as much as it could of. In many ways, I feel as though this opened up things, introduced us to things that will come back to us in the later books, without really moving us forward that much. The romantic suspense element was fun, but I had hoped the main storyline would have moved forward a bit more than it did.

Overall, Rogue was another great read in the Impossible series. I’m now more desperate than ever to dive into Knight.

4 Stars - ★★★★

Sharon Silverman was with the FBI NY Field Office – a tough cookie with a tougher assignment. She goes undercover as a Domme in a popular BDSM club run by Derek Carter.

By her side was her new rookie partner, Reed Miller. Reed was a rookie FBI agent, but an experienced Dom. He saw things in Sharon that she wouldn’t admit to herself.

Sharon fights Reed trying to control her and their case...
she fights the criminals...
she fights her strong attraction to Derek Carter and what he does to her...
but her toughest fight is with herself.

A natural submissive? No way. She perceived “submissiveness” and “weakness” as one and the same – will she prove herself wrong?

"Trade the pain for his trust.”

This story is very well written and even without having read the previous books in the series is easy to follow. If you didn’t know it was from a series, you probably couldn’t even tell.

The characters are strongly developed and the writer gives a sense of the true struggle Sharon has with accepting what she has been denying in herself for a very long time.

Was it her misconception of what a submissive is or her own lack of acceptance for her own desires that made her reluctant to let herself go?

The story is very much worth reading to find out for yourself. ;)

Dear Julia,
I just read Rogue.
I freaking love you.
Love, Heather

^^ I sent that to Julia on FB after I finished reading Rogue last night. If I wasn’t such a wordy person I could totally leave that as my review. It sums up my feelings perfectly.

I loved Rogue.

I knew going in that this was going to cause me a bit less emotional turmoil than Mentor and Knight did but still it was just as fantastic as every other book in this series.

When the book starts, Sharon is in Decadence, the BDSM club owned by Derek Carter. She is there undercover on a case and she is trying to give the appearance that she is a domme. She drove me crazy in the beginning. Hello, have you not Julie’s books? Sharon, your assumptions about BDSM, doms, and subs are all wrong.

I have to admit. When I first started with The Impossible Trilogy, I made the same snap judgments as Sharon did about the BDSM lifestyle. That is one of the reasons I love Julia Sykes’s books. She takes you in and makes you understand that there is something deeper than wanting pain or wanting to give pain. That there was more to is than just sadism and masochism. Sure I had read FSOG like almost every other female on the industrialized planet but those books didn’t explain it like Julia does.

There is a give and take, there is protecting and caring, there is something that a sub gives a dom, not just the dom controlling the sub. Honestly, when you delve into it, the relationship between a true dom and sub is a beautiful thing. I don’t get that feeling from other books about BDSM. In other books it is about one controlling the other, or one getting off on receiving pain. Other books just aren’t on the same level emotionally as Julia’s books.

I am not going to give anything away, I am just going to say that this is just another perfect example of Julia Sykes’s amazing work. I loved Derek. I loved Sharon. I loved Derek and Sharon together. Watching Sharon start to understand herself, the lifestyle, her friends even was amazing.

Rogue moved fast, hit hard, and was just as sexy as the rest of the series. I have gotten to the point where I sometimes skim over sex scenes. Sometimes it feels like after you have read 1000 of them, you have read them all. There has to be some kind of emotional growth, a new understand that blooms, something that makes me slow down and read every single word during a sexual encounter in a book anymore. That is how it was for me with Rogue. No cheesy unrealistic sayings that make you roll your eyes thrown in to describe body parts, no overly alpha cave man behavior, it was just beautiful. Every single scene.

Julia, you have knocked it out of the park again. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

Thank you so much for sending me a copy of Rogue! It was amazing and I loved it!

This is the third book in the Impossible series, but falls chronologically between Savior and Knight. Although it can be read as a stand alone, it will make more sense if you have read the back story in The Impossible Trilogy. This is the story of FBI agent Sharon Silverman, who was first introduced in The Impossible Trilogy. Agent Silverman goes undercover to discover a link between organized crime and a local BDSM club. Sharon agrees to train under club owner Derek Carter in order to get more information about drug trafficking in the club. The novel not only focuses on the relationship between Sharon and Derek, but continues with the organized crime story from The Impossible Trilogy.

I think The Impossible Series continues to improve with each novel. This was a strong, well written story. It was well edited and the dialogue seemed very real. The thing I like about the series is that the female leads seem like very real people. They are smart, strong, and independent. They have lives outside of the D/s relationship and don't immediately fall at the feet of the dominant male characters. There is also a good mix of love story blended with crime drama to keep the story moving.

This novel was provided to me by the author through the BDSM group on Goodreads.

i loved this book its full of Suspense
Sharon is an FBI agent she is posted in a bdsm fetish club she is their to find out who is selling drugs and she wants to learn how to be a dominatrix but the issue is she is a natural submissive she feel that her being submissive makes her week
Derek is the owner of decadence the bdsm fetish club that Sharon is staking out he see Sharon and he thinks she one of those women who sell her services and really make Sharon upset he tells her he will train he to be a dommie but she has to first learn how to be a submissive to fully understand what a dominatrix Intel
Will Sharon end up a submissive or a dommie? Who is selling the drugs and what is Derek's involvement? will Sharon and Derek end up together?
to find out the answers to these questions i strongly suggest you read this book
this is an intriguing story i thourly enjoyed it i cant wait to read more

Not as good as the rest

The first half of this book is her whining and screaming that she's not submissive to all the Doms who know she is. The sex, when it finally happens, is steamy enough but Lord did it take forever to get there. I've read all the others, not sure how I missed this one in the sequence but now wish I hadn't gone back. It really adds no value to the storyline and I could've skipped it.

«Ti ho tradito.»
«No, non l'hai fatto.

As the third installment in Julia Sykes' series, Rogue proved to be an engaging listen, even though I had to skip the second book due to availability issues. Fortunately, this didn't hinder my understanding or enjoyment of the story, as the references to previous events and characters were not central to the plot.
The series continues to explore themes of BDSM, sex clubs, and the intricate dynamics of gangs and the FBI. While the plots might not be particularly strong or complex, they have successfully captured my interest. The blend of spice and suspense keeps me listening, as I appreciate a good mix of steamy scenes and intriguing storylines.
One aspect I enjoyed is the chemistry between the main characters. Their interactions are intense and add a layer of depth to the otherwise straightforward plot. However, I found that some of the supporting characters could have been more developed, which might have enriched the story further. Maybe they will come in other books in the series.
Additionally, the pacing of the book is generally good, keeping me engaged without becoming overwhelming. However, there were moments where I felt the story could have delved deeper into the emotional aspects of the characters' lives, which would have provided a more satisfying narrative.
I find the series entertaining, though I do wish for a more robust plot to complement the tantalizing elements.
Nonetheless, I'm eager to catch up on the second book when it becomes available, as I am curious about how the characters and storylines evolve. plus listen to the others in this series.

“Ti spingerò verso i tuoi limiti.

Ti amo, Sharon. Mi senti? Ti amo, cazzo. Non osare lasciarmi.”

Ottimo.

1.25 Stars. (BW/WM). An audiobook with narration by Scarlett Day and Jason Winter’s. BDSM. This book reads more like an in-depth instructional manuel explaining the emotional drivers governing the Dominant and Submissive relationship dynamites in BDSM with illustrated scenarios featuring Sharon Silverman and Derek Carter. Sharon is an FBI agent in a field office of male agents are Doms who respect her work but insist that she is a true submissive. ...She resists this notion and whims and rails against that idea because she views a submissive as weak and inferior to a dominate; but to prove her professionalism as an agent, she agrees to play the role of submissive to Derek, the owner of a BDSM club and suspected drug trafficker-her mark. Most of the story is told to explain what behaviors determine if one is a Dom or a Sub interlaced with FBI drama and Sharon’s struggle against being a Sub. There is no romantic chemistry to be found between the hero and heroine, but they have sex and Derek collars Sharon and he is proven innocent of any crimes. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Wow!

I could not out this book down. I loved Sharon's struggle to be a dinner only to realize she is a natural submissive.Derek is dark and sexy. He had a very caring side to him and he was the perfect match for Sharon. I like how the book is part of a series but you can read it alone. It is best if read in order as each book has sheds light on a different character.

Book 3 of this series tells Sharon's story. The young, ambitious and sexually inexperienced FBI Agent has a new partner. Who knows all the rules of the world of BDSM which Sharon enters to investigate gang violence and drug dealing. She wants to portray herself as a Domme. What strong, capable, kickass FBI Agent wouldn't?
Through her time at the club, Sharon realises that submission does not equal weakness. I adored this book. It handled the concepts of Dominance and submission so sensitively and we do feel and understand Sharon's emotions and struggles as she learns more about herself, as well as the world which frightened her so much and works out her place in it.

I really enjoy the world Julia Sykes has created. Now, it's told from a female FBI agent. She falls for Derek who owns the local BDSM club. I love how characters from other stories are interwoven. HEA is well deserved.
