It is an Ok story, but a bit simplistic and filled with wonderfully (but, unbelievably) altruistic characters.

Having lived for nearly 70 years, I no longer buy into heroic or altruistic characters. Humanity works on self interest and self profit, in real life. To suspend disbelief effectively in fiction, that has to be reflected in story writing.

To All Writers: "Fewer Puppies, Rainbows and Unicorns, Please?" Heh!

+1 for the recap

If beasts were attacking from all directions, then which direction were the mana Canons placed.
