Notified that his niece and her boyfriend had been abducted, Blacksburg Detective Benny Fidalgo rushes to his sister’s cottage on Beach Pond, Connecticut. Arriving, he learns that the teens, set to attend college in a few weeks, took a kayak ride and didn’t return. With the state police in pursuit of a Winnebago, hurriedly seen leaving a nearby campground after midnight, Benny finds tobacco butts near the abduction site as well as indentations from a blind, leading him to believe the teens had been stalked. Further discovering that others had mysteriously vanished as well, he ignores a state police directive to not interfere, distressingly aware that he has limited time to find his niece and her boyfriend before they’re never heard from again.
