Thank you to @sunnybabepr and @lee.jackson.reads for sending me this book for the opportunity to review it!

Small spoilers!!

Wow did I love this book! Country Charm gives us two POVs; Cassidy Walker - city girl, happily single, adoring friends and an average job and Hunter Hill - country boy, single but not opposed to a relationship, adoring brother and owner of his families farm. Cassidy has just turned 30 and continuing their tradition of birthday pranks, her friends set her up on a blind date with Hunter. Her friends know her so well that they couldn’t have picked a better man for her except he wants a relationship and she wants a one night stand…

Whilst the jump to the actual relationship was slow there was certainly a well paced steamy storyline to get there! And let me say those spicy scenes were something else 😮‍💨 Where can I find myself a real life Hunter Hill? Cassidy’s friendship group is so incredibly cute and they’re the kind of friends every girl wants! I hope Franny gets a blister from her stupid boots and chub rub from her stupid shorts for her efforts in trying to get between Cass and Hunt.

I would’ve loved to have seen more of Cassidy’s growth into a woman ready and willing to love and be loved by someone. Also to see Cassidy and Hunter’s proposal and wedding because I bet it would’ve been magical! I also noticed a few little grammar mistakes (e.g. Franny being called Fanny) but they were very easy to read around and hardly noticeable.

Lee Jackson girly I’m gonna need you to drop a few more books! 😍

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.75/5 - rounded up to 4/5
🌶️🌶️🌶️ 3/5 (open door, frequent and detailed spice)

If you swoon from any of the following:
Fire flies in the moonlight ✨
Small town dance with fairy lights
Cows, everything cows!
Glitter explosions ✨
Milkshakes and burger dates
Sex and the city vibe besties
Thoughtful food deliveries ✨

Thank you to Sunny babe PR and Lee Jackson for providing me with an ARC and the chance to share my thoughts with other readers.
This is a super cute small town romance, where he falls first and is a cinnamon roll MMC. She’s a fiery, city girl who is super stubborn with main character of her own story. Boy meets girl unexpectedly on a blind date and just can’t get her out of his head. This friends to lovers story is adorable. 🥰

It becomes repetitively clear that she just can’t seem to move forward from her past though. I felt invested in wanting to get this girl a therapist! So, my main criticism is that the ending is very sudden, unrealistic and unsupported. It was the happily ever after that we signed up for though - which is the upside. Some of the terminology was a bit cringe worthy as well; so points deducted for both of those, but overall this is a super cute read that is true to its tropes.

I loved this book! The FMC, Cassidy, is an independent, successful woman who lives in the big city and is content with her life. She’s not looking for love, but after spending the night as a victim of a surprise blind date, the lines she’s drawn for herself eventually begin to fade. She’s torn between the life she planned for herself and the life she’s afraid to allow for herself. Hunter, however, knows exactly what he wants and he is fearless in his pursuit.

I *love* the “he falls first” trope, and our MMC Hunter completely delivered! He was incredibly swoon-worthy in his quest to win over Cassidy.

Here’s one of my favorite Hunter quotes:

“I won’t stifle her fire but fan her flames. If she fails, she’ll rise from the ashes. I’ll make sure of it.” 🫠🫠🫠

I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it if you enjoy small town romance, friends to lovers, witty banter, and golden retriever MMCs.

Thank you so much to SunnyBabePR for providing an eARC in exchange for my honest review!

When Cassidy’s friend sets her up on a blind date shortly after her 30th birthday, Hunter is absolutely nothing she expected. Cassidy is fiercely independent, and Hunter is falling fast. Cassidy and Hunter have to figure out whether what they have is end game, or just lust.
🌾
Five stars! I loved this book so. freakin. much. It sucked me straight in and I couldn’t put it down until I was finished. I love a good small town romance and a story where he falls first, and this is both of those. I loved Cassidy and her independence, and I loved that Hunter wanted nothing more than to support that. “I won’t stifle her fire but fan her flames. If she fails, she will rise from the ashes. I’ll make sure of it”. Hunter is officially on my list of book boyfriends for this line 🥹 I can’t wait to see what else this author comes out with and to read the next book in the series!

Overall Rating: 3.75
Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Setting: 🏡🏡🏡🏡
Character Development:✨✨✨.5

This is Lee Jacksons Debut Novel and overall it was a raw and very real feeling story.

What I liked:

Hunter - Oh my word I just loved Hunter. I wanted more of him. I wanted more of his Alpha Boy side to come out in the spicy scenes and I wanted more of him within the romantic relationship. It was hard to watch him go through the pain that was Cassidy. I loved Hunter's relationship with Jake, I thought at was very sweet.

The setting was really lovely. I like the differences between a big city feel and the small lovely town. The firefly scenes in the field of wild floors was beautiful.

The middle 50% was solid!! Beautiful moments, friendships, romance and spice. I was totally there for that.

What I wasn't enjoying:
Cassidy - Hear my out....she is a good person. But oh man she needed a Therapist in a deep deep way. I don't believe at this stage of her life that she deserved Hunter. I cannot believe Hunter wanted her after everything she put him through. Her friend circle felt a little surface level but there were some sweet moments with her friends.

The first and last 25% is a little rough. There is a lot of "telling" instead of "showing" writing. There was LOT of inner thinking paragraphs.

The ending.....It just didn't make sense. I think that Cassidy didn't do enough work to heal and then suddenly changed her mind. There is a sudden romantic moment and the poof the story is done. The ending needed some more work.

I think the thing that threw me off was the book sounded like a 3rd Person Narrative but was written in 1st person. So many "I think, I want, I am doing, I need..." starts to sentences that just sounded like statement sentences.

Overall though the book is very real feeling, deep pain, issues all make it feel raw and you will pine for Hunter too.

This book just left me feel like I wanted more. More Hunter, more talks in the friendship circle (like deeper talk), more deep talks with Hunter's brother Harrison. More showing, then just telling. There were certain moments where I defiantly felt what was being described and it was beautiful. It just left me wanting more.

Lee Jackson you have done it again i first there was Country Charm & now Country Contract. I absolutely adored both Harlow & Harrison. The gothic vibe Harlow has I didn't know what to expect at first however she is such a darling aswell as a black cat & I really enjoyed reading about her. Harrison, how can you not love him not only is he a small town man but he is an absolute golden retriever. The spice was definitely spicy to this book is now one of my favourite books along with now becoming one of my favourite series. Every book you write I will definitely be reading them.

I highly recommend 'Country Contract' & if you're new to this series make sure you check out the first book 'Country Charm'

Cassidy just turn thirty and she feels her life is perfect. She has a good job in the city, a great group of friends, and leans more towards one night stands than love. Then she meets Hunter and everything changes. Hunter is from the small town over and he owes his own farm. The perfect country man. He is everything she wants and needs but she is afraid to settle down definitely not with long distance being a factor. Will Cassidy let down her walls and let Hunt in?
Firstly, I want say thank you to @sunnybabepr and @lee.jackson.reads for sending me this to read. I really did enjoy this book. I absolutely adored Hunt. Who wouldn’t swoon over a good handsome country man who loves his family and small town with a nice southern drawl like come on now. I liked Cassidy’s sass and how much she cared for her friends. She just annoyed me with all the back and forth and how much she says she doesn’t want to settle down. How she just doesn’t communicate to Hunt pissed me off. Also, kind of awkward how he watched her at the wedding and like wasn’t invited. I loved the feel good ending though!! I give it 4/5 ⭐️ and 4/5 🌶️
I received an ARC and I’m voluntarily leaving a review 😊

I was so excited to read this book and it did not disappoint! The humor in it I loved and appreciated because it was my sense of humor! The relationship between Cassidy and her girlfriends was so fun and hilarious because they would mess with each other and play pranks but would be there for their friend at the drop of a hat. Loved it!

Hunter phew weee a hot farmer who saw that he had an amazing woman in front of him, what could be better? I liked that he didn't just let her go and he wanted her for her. At the end of the day that's what we want!

"I can see plain as day that this girl aint your regular Betty; she's a diamond in the rough of this city."

Can't wait for more from Lee Jackson.

What a funny, sweet, and spicy small town romance.

When city girl Cass and country boy Hunter meet at a blind date, it pushes them into the unknown.

I really loved the banter between these two and their shared interest in books.

Cassidy is such a funny, strong, and independent woman who knows what she wants and values her friendships with her girls (Aka cows)
Hunter is driven, loyal, and he falls hard and fast.

I really enjoyed reading their story and wish I got to read more of their time together as an official couple.

If you're after a cozy, cowboy romance then I recommend giving Country Charm a read.

Thanks for the copy @sunnybabepr

This was such a cute small town cowboy romance ! I loved the main characters and their whole dynamic. I liked how it had real life Challenges and thoughts about how it could work out with a city girl and country boy. In the end, it was a cute romance story with all the in-between! Would recommend!

📚Found Family

This was an ARC through Sunny Babe PR.

I really enjoyed Country Charm. At first there was a little twist, I was not expecting and I really loved it. I love how they’re both readers. I love that the FMC practices sustainable living. It’s something my family is trying to learn to do more often. I found it interesting that the author decided to make the Female main character afraid to commit. It was a nice difference from other romantic books. This book was small town, very comfortable, and very romantic would definitely recommend.

I loved following Hunter and Cassidy's story, and in particular I loved seeing how Cassidy's character developed as the book went on. The chemistry between these two characters was great, and I was rooting for them the whole way through the book.

Cassidy's friends were also a high point for me, and I really enjoyed getting to know each of them and their quirks. I feel like Cassidy's hesitancy when it came to relationships was believable, and there were times when I just wanted to give this character a hug!

If you're in the mood for a cosy, small town romance, this book is for you!

Thank you so much to @sunnybabepr for providing me with a copy of this book 🥰

COUNTRY CHARM RELEASES 2.13.2024!!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars for Lee Jackson's debut cowboy romance novel, Country Charm!! I had so much fun reading this one!

My biggest praise for this book? The characters! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cassidy. She's real and she's rational and her personality is so vibrant that it jumps right off the page! Hunter and the girls are really nicely developed as well.

I really loved the pacing of the storyline in this book, and I adore any book with a wedding in it 🥹🫶🏻

My only critique? I would have liked to see more of the ending!!! I feel like it's a classic romance book thing to just cut to an epilogue in the future and leave us with only the crumbs of a happy ending 🥲

But I really loved their story and I'm so so glad that I got to be a part of this journey ☺️

Omgosh!! This book. It was funny, sweet and beautiful. This has to be one of the most relatable stories I have read so far.

🩷MMC- Hunter Hill. Oh hello my new green flag book boyfriend! He’s your golden retriever cowboy but Mr. Alpha in the bedroom.

🩷FMC- Cassidy Walker. Ms. Independent, bookworm and lover of her “cows” (aka her besties!)

Being set up as a joke by her best friends leads Cassidy to meeting Hunter. Cassidy’s jokes and banter with Hunter had me laughing. Hunter taking it and dishing it back in his own sweet way was great. I really enjoyed reading these two grow throughout the story. Cassidy always saw herself as independent and not needing more than what she has: her freedom, her books, one-night guys— being her own knight and shining amour. Hunter was well off running the family farm to think of a partner. I loved Cassidy’s relationship with her 3 best friends. All their back and forth joking, girl time and advise giving was one of my favorite parts of the book. You felt as though you were apart of the group. —This story of finding love and your partner but still never losing yourself was so refreshing. PS. I need to get on Country Charm and find me a Mr. Hill 😉

Thank you Lee Jackson for this opportunity for a first read!🩷

ೃ⁀ ➷ A heart-melting small-town romance where they’re friends-to-lovers and he falls first? Sign me up, now! This book had me completely hooked from the first page to the last!

Hunter Hill is the softest softie you'll ever meet, while Cassidy gives out such a magnetic, fiery city-girl energy which will have you smirking at her smart little comments. Both characters are wonderful people who know exactly what they want for their future. Until one night, a blind date shakes up Cassidy's world and blurs the lines between what she thought she wanted and what she truly desires.

The dual POV in this book gives us a look into Hunter's thoughts about Cassidy and let me tell you, that man is one hell of a catch. Seriously, I'd marry this man if I could! As for Cassidy, her vibrant personality was always sparkling throughout the book. But, I wish we got to see more of her transition from denial to accepting what she truly wanted because the ending felt a bit rushed (the reason why I had to deduct a star from my rating). But altogether, the story was absolutely adorable and it played like a perfect romance movie in my head while reading.

4☆ 3 🌶

If you're looking for a cowboy romance with some fall vibes then check this out! I had such a good time. It can be read as a standalone and I didn't realize this was actually the second book in the Pebble Creek series. I'll be going back to read the first after this.

I thought that Harrison was so sweet and wore his heart on his sleeve but also possessive and dominant. I loved the push and pull between him and Harlow and how he accepted her exactly as she was. I thought Harlow was relatable with her love of reading and books. I loved how she was just herself but also willing to sacrifice her own wants to help her family. The arranged marriage plot was interesting, and honestly, I did also like Heaths character. Maybe he'll get his own story ☺️

The only thing that kind of took me out of the story was when she called him "kid," and he was only 6 years younger. Especially with all the spicy parts 🤭 I did think his nickname for her was cute.

Read if you like:

🍂Small town
🧡He falls first
🍂Opposite attract
🧡MCs in their 30's
🍂Relationship of convenience
🧡Kinks
🍂"You're mine"
🧡Family

I didn’t have big expectations going in coz I don’t read many small town romances, but DAMN! That was a ride!
Their meet-cute was so unique from what I’ve read before, I was laughing my ass off!
And it only got better after that!

Hunter Hill is the standard!
The man knows what he wants and he gets it!
The way he pursued Cassidy steadfastly even in the face of her stubbornness is the perfect example of “if he wanted to, he would.”

And the nickname Cassidy gives him, “Country charm”!
I thought I would find it cringey, but it fits him perfectly!

Thank you Sunny Babe PR and Lee Jackson for the ARC copy.

Tropes:
-Friends to lovers
-Blind date
-Small town
-Found family
-Country boy x City girl
-He falls first

This is a small town romance that follows Hunter Hill and Cassidy Walker after they are set up on a blind date. Cassidy Walker is a fiercely independent city girl who is thirty, flirty, and thriving...sort of. She has great friends, her own place, and a job that allows her good work-life balance. But she's also the last single woman in her friend group, and has no desire to pursue a relationship. The upcoming wedding of one of her friends makes her start to question her path in life and she feels like a big shake up might be just what she needs to get out of this slump. Hunter Hill is a hard working man who prioritized keeping the family farm up and running, and has never felt the need to settle down. And then a blind date prank changes everything for both Cassidy and Hunter.

This was exactly as the title describes...charming. The small town setting was so welcoming and warm, and the perfect backdrop to the story. Hunter is everything you would envision a small town hunk to be, and I loved that he was able to be both tender and dominant at the same time. He is a man who cares about his town and his woman, and shows it through his words and actions. Cassidy is so sassy and spunky, and it was interesting that she was the "love em and leave em" type. While she has a good heart, she definitely is conflicted and a bit lost as she tries to figure out what she really wants. Cass and Hunt had good chemistry, and their dates were so swoon-worthy. I enjoyed the push and pull between Cass and Hunt, and how even when she tries to push Hunt away, he finds a way to give her the space and understanding she needs, while also not giving up. Cassidy faces a lot of internal struggles and uncertainty, so her realization of what she ultimately wants does come on a bit suddenly in terms of pacing, but gets you to the happily ever after. The dynamic of Cass's friend group is hilarious, and they seem like a fun bunch.

There is quite a bit of spice, and if that is something you crave in your reading, this will not disappoint. It is balanced with a lot of sweet moments, which I thought were genuine. The beginning tends more towards inner dialogue, but the overall story picks up to show a lot of heart and character growth. It looks like there will be another book that follows Hunter's brother Harrison if you find yourself wanting more.

𝓒𝓸𝓾𝓷𝓽𝓻𝔂 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓻𝓶 by Lee Jackson

“Girl, there is something to be said about getting regularly laid. It keeps your auras positive, your skin clear, and your mood happy”

Synopsis:

Cassidy Walker is turning 30 years old and she is content with her life, or at least that’s what she thinks. She has the looks, her tribe of girls, the job, with the exception of love. Who needs love when you are independent, self sufficient and value your time and space.
For her birthday, one of her friends decides to prank Cassidy by setting her up on a blind date with a country guy. Hunter Hill ended up being her total opposite: loves his small town, wakes up very early, is looking for long time but is also incredibly attractive. She doesn’t want a relationship and he wants her.

Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spice : 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Thank you @sunnybabepr for sending me a copy of this cute book.
Country Charm is perfect for my romcom lovers, it’s a light, sweet, fast read that will make you want to drop everything and run for the country. I adore Hunt, he is a great MMC. He has everything going on for him, looks, personality, a big heart, he likes to read, a farm and now he wants “the one”. On the other hand, Cassidy didn’t convince me. And I’ll tell you what my problem was with the narrative or the author’s style, let’s not forget this is Lee Jackson’s debut book.
Cassidy is the typical strong/independent/do it myself/ I don’t need anyone FMC and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it but sometimes throughout the book it feels like those qualities are over explained and they seem forced. Kind of less is more. Occasionally, she also came across as judgy and I didn’t like at all. Example: “Maybe in our old age, we should have scheduled a nap…” excuse me? 30 is not old, I feel attacked, but hey! “It’s me, I’m the problem is me!”
If you are looking for a lighthearted read, that makes you question your choices, evaluate your life and maybe inspiration for a change of scenery, I totally recommend this book.

Rounded up from 4.5 stars

Country Charm is a small town romance told through 2
POV's by Cassidy Walker and Hunter Hill. It is the first instalment in the Pebble Creek Romance series. County Charm was an easy read and I loved the short chapters, which kept allowing me to justify "I'll just read one more chapter". I also really loved the inclusion of the text message exchanges between Hunter and Cassidy throughout the book. It was a sweet and spicy romance that I could not put down!
What started as a blind date prank, lead to Hunter and Cassidy's epic love story.
This is the first romance l've read with the country boy and city girl trope and I have to say l'm a fan. Jackson's portrayal of Hunter as the sweet and loyal country boy mixed in with his dominant personality was so enticing. His personality combined with beautiful and serene farmhouse and land made him the perfect catch.
Cassidy Walker is a strong, confident, intelligent and sarcastic female lead whom the reader will instantly like and relate to. I felt connected to Cassidy through her love of reading and her using it as a way to escape reality. I also think Cassidy's fear of getting too close to men will resonate with readers as well, as it is really hard for readers, like myself, to allow ourselves to be vulnerable in the company of others. Basically I thought Cassidy was cool At, trom her clothes to her personality, her beauty and her brains, her loving demeanour and her witty banter with Hunter.
I recommend all those romance lovers out there to go out and grab a copy of this book, you will not be disappointed.
I was so excited to learn that this is not the end of Cassidy and Hunter's love story and I can't wait to read what comes next!

I would like to preface this by saying when I saw this was book 1 I was ready to cheer because I never wanted this book to end! Yes it's a romcom, yes it's a he falls first, and yes love at first sight for him.....but it just hits different in this book.

Cassidy is turning 30 and that means it's time for a birthday prank from one of the girls in her crew, who are her lifeline and sanity in the city. Every year they scheme up something to do but this year they get her good! Cass has a job that makes her feel satisfied enough in her career and she has plenty of time to read the books that line every space of her apartment. Dating is off the table and she has a hookup rule of never twice.

Hunter has taken over the family farm and his brother lives on the property as well. Hunter devoted his 20's to learning the business and farm, and in turn, his love life is non-existent. He decides to join a dating app and guess who is his match??? Cass! They begin speaking and decide to meet. Cass tells him in messenger to do something specific when he sees her so she knows it's him. I won't spoil that for you. Prepare to laugh!

Love at first sight when he sees her and she has no idea who he is because it was her friend on the app! The emotional rollercoaster Hunter and Cass go down is wild! I literally fell in love with Hunter and his love for Cass. There is such a contrast between Cassidy's city life and Hunter's country life, it made me really think there was no way to make it work.

You will have to read it to find out what happens next! You will not be disappointed.

Country Charm follows Hunter Hill and Cassidy Walker. Hunter is a country boy who runs his family farm and sells products at his local farmers market while Cassidy is a city girl who works as a data analyst.

Hunter definitely had some country charm to him. He definitely fell first and was just so sweet and patient. I was a little worried he was going to get fed up with her and give up on her but he didn’t. I loved that he’d send her random texts just so she couldn’t forget about him. I loved how much he cared about his loved ones.

Cassidy was skittish from the first chapter to the last. She was used to her simple life style. Her job, her friends, her one night stands. She was independent. The moment she laid eyes on Hunter, she knew he was a fine man and she only really wanted one thing from him which he wouldn’t give to her. But she was intrigued by him, she entertained him and she didn’t mind his company at all.

I loved their shared interest in books. I loved it when she did little things to show that she was interested and that she cared (the furniture and care packages).

I do feel like there were some things that were left unanswered lol or maybe the epilogue kind of answered it for me but I was curious on whether she got a new job or not.

I also do wish we got to see more scenes of them officially together.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and I can’t wait for the next one! I’m also hoping Jake will get a book someday.

Thank you to @sunnybabepr for the free copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is @lee.jackson.reads debut novel and it was wonderful! Hunter and Cassidy were complete opposites in many ways, but they did have a love for all things books, small towns, and each other. The character development was realistic, and I enjoyed that for every time Cassidy wanted to break free from Hunter, she couldn’t.
For Cassidy, comfort and safety meant never getting involved with anyone more than a one-night stand, hanging out with her girlfriends and her no stress comfortable job. Although she played a strong tough as nails character, she secretly liked to be taken care of, for Hunter to cherish her, and for him to read to her. But all those good things came at a price. The price of letting herself be in a relationship. The hard part of taking chances. The really hard part of letting go of control and letting love into her life.
The only reason I did not rate this five stars is because I would have liked more between the ending and the epilogue. I don’t want to give spoilers so I can’t give any more details about that. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
Takeaway: Sometimes taking a chance, doing the hard things leads to the greatest reward.

PHENOMENAL. This books is everything. I am know in my cowboy era. This books had it’s hooks in me finished it in one sitting stayed up wait to late just because I couldn’t put it down.
I did stop half way and put the book down and 5 minutes later I needed to know what was happening so picked it up and finished it. Country Charm was so freaking good for a debut novel. Wow. Let’s start we have Hunter whose life is all about his family farm. He is a cinnamon roll in the sexiest way. The way Lee described him, his mannerisms and his was of being ahh my heart melted. Cassidy is the city girl who doesn’t want or have time for love. She is her hit it and quit it era. Her friends move around her in a sneaky way and because of this she meets Hunter. Sparks life, some groping happens and he backs up. Cassiy dismissed him, but Hunter decided that she is who he wants and now has made it his mission to have her. 🫠. This man I tell you I love him. The back and forth between these two, the text messages haha I laughed so loud and couldn’t at time breathe from the humor. The sexual tension wow and when the tension came to a head OOO BOY. The book gave me all the feels and I know its a repeat read for me. I need this book for my trophy shelf that how amazing it is.

this book is so swoony and sweet and spicy‼️ injust love so many things about this book!

first off, hunter🧎‍♀️😩 man, he’s the man frfr. i love how he’s so stable and secure in himself and i love how caring he is towards his family and cassidy. cassidy is also really sassy! tbh i can see from the beginning how her insecurities are so relatable and realistic. not everyone really has the same goals or path in life and thats okay! i also love how cassidy shows her care thru action instead of words! u can rlly tell her feelings thru what she does.

the ldr, city girl and country boy trope was also done pretty good! i love how there’s no bs reason such as its too far or something, and something is really being done to fulfill the moment!! SO GOOD!

i do feel like the ending was rushed. cassidy’s character wasnt wrapped up properly and it doesnt make sense that from one chap she does something then the last chap she did a full 180. i wished there was more time or story as to how it got there bc it’s not making sense w her statements from the beginning of the book:((

overall, i really had fun reading this! congrats to lee jackson and thank u sunny babe pr for giving me an arc of this amazing book!
