He finds out about the auction and wins the highest bid, but thinks he can't be with her. So to give her the money he proposes a deal. Play his fake girlfriend for the holidays. What started as fake for Alisa never really was for Fox. Brother's best friend, sweet, steamy fun to read, enemies to lovers, romantic and with a sweet HEA 😍😍
For safety lovers:Not safe because they knew each other for the last three years. He was in love with her, she hated him. She had someone a year before the story takes place. Really small mentioning of it in one sentence, but still😉🫣

I loved Auctioned to the Mountain Man Book 3 of Sold to the Naughty List. Alida needed help and fast. Her house was crumbling and her sister’s tuition is due. She signs up for the auction after a coworker tells her about a fast way to make money. When her car breaks down on the way she wasn’t expecting Fox. Her dead brother's best friend. There has always been a connection but she pushed him away after he tried to help. Now she owes him and he’s looking for a fake relationship. Unfortunately, nothing is fake for him or for her. Can Alida let him in? When she thinks he oversteps she pushes him away. I loved the story and the characters. It was a quick read. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Fox and Adila met three years ago when her brother Brett passed away overseas. Fox came to the funeral and promised Brett he would look over his sister's Adila and Kayleigh Auctioned to the Cowboy. Fox finds out that Adila has plans to put herself in the auction so he secures himself a spot. Only along the way he finds Adila is in a ditch. Adila put herself in the auction when she needs money to help her sister Kayleigh with her tuition. Fox takes Adila to the auction then wins her. While Fox is taking Adila home he asks her for a favor he wants her to be his fake girlfriend for his family's Christmas. Adila finds out that Fox already asked for her to have the time off from the hospital. So Adila agrees only so that Fox won't withhold the money from her. While Adila is packing a few things to take Fox asks her why she stays in the house. Fox finds out that Adila make a promise to her dyeing mother that she would keep up on the house and help her sister Kayleigh. Fox and Adila arrive at his families cabin, it late so they head to bed. The following morning Fox heads in to take a shower. So Adila slips out to met his family, Fox comes to find her gone and he goes in search of her. Fox comes to find Adila getting along with him family. Fox's family has plans to visit in town today and want Adila to come along. Everyone in Fox's family loves Adila. Fox and Adila find themselves under the mistletoe and his grandmother encourages them to kiss. When they head to bed Adila puts a pillow fort between them so Fox doesn't have to sleep in the chair. The following day they take a sleigh ride around and Adila is forced to sit in Fox's lap for the ride. Fox whispers in Adila's ear and then finds out her Christmas wish. Fox promises to fulfill her Christmas wish as soon as they get back to the cabin. Fox pleasures Adila with one flick of his tongue, but then walks out of the room. Fox finds his grandfather at the dinner table and sits and talks to him about Adila. The following day, when Adila wakes up she on top of Fox so she slips off of him and takes a shower. When Adila comes out she realizes she forgot her clothes so when she walks out Fox is waiting for her. Fox and Adila make a deal that she'll be in control when they make love again. Adila tells Fox she wouldn't mind living in a place like this, and he asks her why she can't. Adila explains about her house and Fox asks her if she's happy. Fox wants to claim Adila as his own but she doesn't belong to anyone. Adila gets a phone call from her sister Kayleigh, but doesn't want her sister to know she's with Fox. Fox realizes Kayleigh caught him on the video call and goes to stand with his family. When everyone leaves Fox and Adila have the cabin to themselves, he makes love to her. When Adila takes a shower her phone rings, Fox tries to take it to her but answers instead. Adila comes out to find out that Fox answer her phone and it was her sister Kayleigh calling. Adila gets upset with Fox, because she feels he's trying to trap her. Adila asks Fox to take her home, and he tells her he will after he eats breakfast and she calms down. When Adila gets home she asks Fox to leave. When Adila gets inside her home she finds her sister Kayleigh there. Adila's sister Kayleigh wants to know if she screwed up with Fox. Kayleigh tells Adila that she deserves to be happy and Fox is right for her. Adila goes to leave to talk to Fox but he's already gone. Fox realizes he needs to fight for Adila so he turns around. When Fox gets to the door he finds Adila coming out. Fox asks Adila where she's going and she tells him to find him. Fox tells her he loves her and Adila tells him she loves him too. Fox takes Adila and her sister Kayleigh back to his hometown and to his family. One year later, Fox takes Adila back to his hometown to visit his family, her sister Kayleigh comes alone too. When Adila tells her sister she loves this place her sister suggests she move there. Adila doesn't want to give up the family home but her sister convinces her she should. Fox asks Adila to marry him and she tells him yes. Adila asks Fox what took him so long and he tells her he was waiting for her he's had the ring since last Christmas.

She needs the money she will make from the auction to pay Kayleigh’s college tuition. On her way to the auction, her car slides into a ditch and of course her phone dies. A massive truck pulls up behind her to help. Alida is shocked to see her late brother’s best friend, Fox Hansen.

Fox and Brett were deployed together. Fox promised Brett that if anything happened to him, Fox would make sure that his two younger sisters were always safe. At Brett’s funeral, Fox meets Alida and Kayleigh and falls in love with Alida. She wants nothing to do with him so Fox has been watching the sisters discreetly. Fox was tipped off that Alida signed up for the auction. Fox’s father used to attend the auction every year and since he died, Fox has been sent the invitation. This is the first time he is using it. He knew he had to be there to protect Alida.

Fox wins Alida in the auction. He takes her to a room in the mansion and shows her what could have happened to her if he had not won the bid. Each woman gets a fee for participating in the auction, but they make extra money based on the rating the man who wins her gives her. Fox tells Alida that he will give her a very high rating if she does him a favor. Alida has to pretend to be Fox’s girlfriend for three days at a cabin in the mountains with his family. He tells her that she has to be convincing. Since Alida really wants as much money as possible to help their financial situation, she agrees.

I loved that they were already attracted to each other. Fox loves Alida but feels survivor’s guilt. Alida is attracted to Fox but every time she looks at him, it reminds her that Brett is gone. I really liked this story.

An amazing novella that’s easy to read, a page turner and has great characters as well as having a steamy spicy romance that gives this novella a happily ever after ending.
A novella about a veteran and the sister of his friend that died during his service falling in love after three years of the sister acting like she didn’t like the veteran. During those three years the veteran still watched his friend’s two sisters but from a distance.
The younger sister went to college and the older sister works as a nurse. The mother before she died had the older sister promise not to sell the house. Repairs as well as other bills took all of her savings but she was needing money for her little sister so she found a way through someone from work.
The veteran was watching the two sisters and when he found out what the sister was going to do, he did what he needed to do to protect her.
The veteran asked the sister for a favor and soon they were having Christmas with his family as a couple. Soon the two are getting close. They did activities with the veterans' families.
Throughout the time the two get closer, the sister talks to her younger sister and the veteran gets advice from his grandfather. The two become intimate but the sister has him take her home.
When the sister gets home the sister is there, the sisters talk about almost everything. The veteran goes back after the sister because he doesn’t want to lose her. The couple tell one another that they love each other. The veteran and the two sisters go back to the veteran's family and spend the rest of the holiday with them.
A year later they are all back together with the veteran’s family. The sister will be graduating college soon. The veteran asks the sister to marry him and she agrees. The family and the younger sister are happy. The couple is happy and in love.

Alida Kingston is in bad financial shape, struggling to pay the bills, her sister Kayleigh’s tuition, and keep the house in constant repair which has drained her savings account. So she is trying to fix her situation by offering herself for one night to be bid on at the “invitation only” Rich Boy Holiday Auction recommended by her coworker Janelle. It’s not what she wants, but she is desperate. However, her car is in terrible condition with steam hissing out of the radiator and she may not make it to the auction after all! And even her phone doesn’t work if she needs to call someone for help. She ends up stranded at the side of the road, ready to hike up the mountain to get to the auction. But a truck pulled up and a guy knocks on her window… and they recognize each other!

Fox Hansen, her deceased brother’s best friend, had promised Brett he would keep his sister safe. That was apparently the worst deal he could have made. She was the most hot-headed and stubborn woman he ever knew. He had heard that Alida was signed up for this auction. His father had signed up originally and the invitation now automatically came to Fox, who had always declined each year. He would never treat a woman that way. And whether she likes it or not, he won’t let her cross that line. She doesn’t even know what to expect from the man who wins her! So he intends to win her to save her from herself. Alida was desperate. She was barely making ends meet, and paying for her sister's school too was more than she could handle. She heard about an auction. She could make a lot of money for just one night, and she wouldn't have to worry anymore. But on her way, she ends up in a ditch, and who finds her but the last person she ever wants to see again.
Fox got an invitation to this auction, just like the past few years. He had never considered going before. He was disgusted by it. But when he found out Alida had signed up, he had to protect her. She didn't know what she was getting herself into. Her brother had asked him to take care of his sisters, and that's what he was going to do. Whether she liked it or not.
On his way there, he found Alida with her car in a ditch. As much as he wanted to turn around and take her home, there would be consequences if she missed the auction. The road only led to one place, so there was no point in pretending he wasn't on his way there too.
When they arrive, Alida begins to realize that she's in over her head. Fox makes sure to win the bid, but he has no intention of touching her. He doesn't want to have her brother haunting him. But he does need something. A fake date to his family Christmas weekend. As much as she wants to refuse, Alida knows she's in no position to do that.
Once they get there, though? That's when things really heat up!
Fox's family is fun and meddling, and exactly what Alida wants for herself one day. They have good chemistry, and the more time they spend together, the less Alida remembers why she hated Fox in the first place.
Fun and with plenty of holiday vibes. And a cat named Meatball!

Alida is a proud, sassy, feisty, and curvy nurse. She is trying to take care of her sister in college and maintain her family home per her late mom's request.

Fox is a hunky mountain man with a heart of gold who was in the military. He is her late brother, Brett's best friend, and she blames him for her brother's death and told him to F#@k off 3 years ago after her brother's funeral. He has been in love with her ever since and tries to take care of her from afar.

Alida is proud and has refused Fox's offers of help. When she is desperate, she signs up for a naughty Christmas auction, hoping to make up the money she desperately needs for her sister's college tuition and home repairs. Fox gets wind and goes to win her so he can take care of her financial needs. She is relieved and mad when he wins. He says she needs to be his fake girlfriend for Christmas, and she reluctantly agrees. But their feelings are oh so real. Can he break down her walls and show her he's all in?

OMG, the chemistry between these two was pure fire. I fully expected my Kindle to melt from the heat they were throwing. We also got a great HEA after some minor angst. I loved their snarky banter and laughed out loud a few times. Fox was a walking smokeshow. Holy hotness! He is totally a new book boyfriend. I loved this one so much.

If you want something quick this is it because you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Alida is doing her best to take care of her sister and keep from losing their family home, but she is struggling to make the ultimate decision to auction herself to earn enough money to pay for her sister’s college and their home. However, she never expected the winning bid to come from her brother’s best friend the one man she semi hates because they both went off to the military, but he came back her brother didn’t not so her feelings towards him were love/hate, yet he won the bid. Fox sexy as all get out mountain man former best friend overall protector making sure he wins the bid because he determine to keep his promise to her brother to look out for her (truth be told he has had feeling for her for a long time shhhhh) he doesn’t ask her for something crazy he ask her to pretend to be his girlfriend for his family for the holidays boy does she get a wakeup call seeing him in a new light especially with the mistletoe kiss that was pure magic although she isn’t yet ready to admit it yet the more time she spends with him her opinion of him changes but is it enough for her to listen to him about her brother, to understand about her brother, will they both acknowledge what’s growing between them, will he give her the review she needs to receive the money promised, and will these two get the happiness they both deserve?

Auctioned to the Mountain Man by Kali Hart is part of the multi-author Sold To The Naughty List series. I loved this story about Alida Kingston and Fox Hansen. They know each other because Alida's older brother Brett was Fox's best friend and fellow soldier. Brett was killed overseas but he made Fox promise to look after his two sisters. When Alida's mother passed away it was only her and her younger sister, Kayleigh. Fox tried to help out but he bumbled it badly after the funeral and Alida told him to leave them alone. He has been secretly watching over the two sisters and has fallen for Alida, even though he knows he should not have these feelings. But when Alida signs up for the Naughty List auction and he finds out about it..watch out as she is his woman and no one else will touch her. Alida may fight it all the way but she is also grateful to Fox. They strike a deal where she will pretend to be his girlfriend for the holidays with his family. Watch out as there will be a lot more going on under the Christmas tree then just some wrapped presents.

Book 3 in the Sold: The Naughty List series

First book by this author. I got this to read from KU because of the title. I love the auction trope and I love when the hero is a "mountain man." However, to me, this novella failed on both accounts. If I see/hear that a book is an Auction romance I assume it's a dark romance. I know I shouldn't assume that, but it happened. At first it fit the criteria of an auction romance I like- if the FMC thinks she has "no other choice." But, she was auctioned, to the MMC, and he makes NO DEMANDS of her!! I mean COME ON!! He just requests that she be his fake girlfriend for the holiday season to keep his family off his back- even though he has loved her for years. He was in combat with the FMC's brother (who died). And he think he can't be with her. Second of all, the MMC is HARDLY a "mountain man!" His family rents a rural place in the mountains for the holiday. I guess that's all it takes to make him a "mountain man."

Anyway, two stars for the reasons mentioned above and because I was bored to tears.

She didn't expect to run into her brother's best friend Fox.
Fox is a man with many scars. When he learns that his best friend's sister, for whom he has a secret begun, is being sold at auction, he can't help but go save her from these horrible men. To prevent her from being tempted to go to the second sale, he forces her to play his fake girlfriend, but the fake quickly looks like the real thing.
Will Alida succumb to Fox's charm or will she run away after Christmas.

Alida is heading to the mansion for the auction, when her car slides into a ditch. Fox was following her but she didn't know it. When he walks up to her car,she is none to happy to see him.

When she realizes he is also going to the auction, she is baffled. Then she finds out he is going to win her. Since he promised her brothr he would protect her, he will.

Alida doesn't expect to see what this auction is fully about nor does she expect the favor Fox asks of her. But what harm can it be to pretend for a few days?

Fox has had a thing for her for years but now he is unable to fight it. He can't deny his feelings but does she feel the same?

So much happens in this book. just have to get to see all the details.

Leiloada Para O Homem Da Montanha

Eu não curto muito essa trama de mulher se leiloando, mas tinha tempo que a autora não lançava um livro novo e resolvi arriscar. É, não deu pra mim. Além da trama que não gosto, a mocinha foi intragável. Alida foi horrível com o Fox em vários aspectos. Ela o odiava por um motivo mesquinho (o irmão morreu na guerra, ele viveu e ela não achava justo). E há uma diferença entre independência e teimosia fora de lugar. Foi muito difícil prosseguir com essa leitura, principalmente porque a Alida era ótima com qualquer outro personagem, engraçada e divertida até, nos dando um vislumbre do quão boa a história poderia ser. Mas com o Fox.... Socorro! Cheguei ao final do livro com a sensação de que o mocinho era bom demais para ela e eu detesto terminar um livro com essa sensação. Fox merecia mais. Uma pena!

It’s so difficult to lose a sibling, and very easy to put the blame onto someone, even if that person is not at fault.
At the same time, if a good friend asks you to watch over his siblings if anything happens to him, you will fulfill that promise at all costs.
The FABULOUS story had those issues at its heart. The exciting, steamy, romantic story that wove the plot was FANTASTIC.
Alida is fiercely independent. Fox wants to protect her, but he also values her independence. I loved the portrayal of the characters, they were very well written.
This standalone book has no cliffhanger, and is an EXCELLENT, pleasurable, fulfilling read with a delightful HEA.

Another part of the Sold to the Naughty List series. We are taken into the lives of Alida and Fox. They come together when he finds out that she has signed up for an auction because she needs money to not only get her sister through college but also to protect their house from collapsing now that she is alone with her sister because her brother has passed away. Fox does not accept that because he does not want her to do that and he knows that her deceased best friend Alida's brother would not want that either if he were still alive. Beautiful storyline and characters and some drama, tension, sadness, chemistry and attraction and enough hot and steamy scenes.

Alida has been struggling financially since her brother died leaving her to raise her younger sister Kayleigh and now with the house upkeep and Kayleigh going to college she needs some cash fast so she signs up for a millionaires auction for one night only. Driving up the mountain to the auction her car breaks down and her brothers best friend Fox comes along and picks her up and takes her to the auction where be ends up the winning bidder on her because he knows she needs the money and he needs her if he can convince the stubborn sexy woman. This is a short sweet fun read.

Alida needs to keep a promise to her dead mother and that is to keep her sister safe. Finding that she can only do so is my auctioning herself. By that is she will have financial security.
On the way to the auction Alida finds herself stranded and the hero is a man called Fox who comes to to save her is on she doesn't want to meet again.

Fox finds out that his old friends sister is auctioning herself and he needs to stop her. The thought makes him angry very angry. So he needs to win the bid.

The chemistry, the characters are all hot and steamy.

Alida will do anything to safe her homo and her sister, so she auctioned herself to make things happen. Fox (her deceased brother's best friend who has loved for a long time) He protects her and bids on her. She will get the money if she becomes his fake girlfriend over his family's house. As their fake relationship blurs into something real, both Fox and Alida must confront the guilt, secrets, and fears they’ve carried for too long. A great story and you are going to love it as much as I did.

This story had a variety of tropes that Hart was able to blend together into a fresh, interesting and compelling story. The main characters, Fox and Alida, had a history (not romantic at all) as they first met right after her brother's death (he was Fox's best friend in the military). The sentimentality and emotions conveyed via their interactions gave them both depth and relateability. Secondary characters created a lively spark between the MCs and offered opportunities for both of them to grow in the course of the story, and I enjoyed where they ended up.

This story has the BEST humor, wit, and sarcasm. It makes these two work SOOO well together. They both have their demons, trying to survive, but sometimes love has other plans.

When Alida meets Fox's family is priceless. I love she doesn't pretend to be who she isn't, and how Fox can't help but come back at her. You really see these two's back and forth is everything. They aren't afraid to speak their minds, and push boundaries. Fox's family was hilarious and really made the story come together.

Sometimes when we least expect it, love finds a way. A snarky, sarcastic way...but still a way. A well deserved story of humor, heat, spice, and a naughty HEA!

Love to Hate You.
Fantastic. When her brother, his best friend, asked him to look out for his sisters if anything happened to him Fox doesn’t think falling in love with the oldest of them was what Brett meant. But, here we are. Alida wants nothing to do with Fox and has no problem letting him know it. But, when he saves her from a situation that was more than she bargained for she can’t refuse what he wants in return. A fake girlfriend in front of his family for Christmas. When did things turn real?.

Book 3 of Sold to the Naughty List story for Alida and Fox. Yes reader hate is love and love is passionate and worth fighting for and in Alida’s case freaking out because she is in love with the sneaky Fox. I loved these two and the passion and chemistry they have together. I laughed at how Alida meets Fox’s family and the conversation that comes from it. Man that will teach Fox to underestimate his woman.

Alida is swallowed in responsibility and just can’t find a way out of the financial quicksand she is in other than to sign up for an elite auction recommended by a co-worker. Fox made a promise to his best friend, who didn’t make it back from their deployment, that he would look after his sisters. Alida, with a stubborn streak a mile wide, can’t see his offers as anything other than pity or worse charity. This is a hero to the rescue, forced proximity, fake relationship on a Christmas family vacation story with humor, heart and joy.

I love Kali Hart! In true Kali fashion, she draws me into a book, and I can’t put it down until I finish it. This holiday gem was no different. I fell in love with all the characters, the location, and their love story. The characters’ personalities were perfect, and the banter was fantastic. The little Christmas town Evergreen was magical, making me want to be there to experience its beauty.

Love this series. Alida is doing all she can to to put her sister through college and keeping the family home from crumbling. Working double shifts isn’t enough. Then she hears about an auction that will give her enough money to get ahead. Fox has been keeping an eye on Alida since his best friend and her brother died. When he finds out she entered an auction to earn money he will do everything he can to stop her. Great storyline.
