Sins can be forgiven, but some can be like a curse, afflicting and tormenting until the last breath.
Former FBI Agent Spenser Song is on the path to healing from tragedy and betrayal. After moving to Sweetwater Falls and settling into her cabin in the idyllic woods, she has found a sense of belonging and peace as the town’s Sheriff.
While having breakfast with Ryker, Spenser is notified about a grim new case. A female victim has been found shot on the side of a rural road.
Upon arrival at the crime scene, Spenser recognizes the deceased woman. The acclaimed author, Dallas James. Spenser had just provided security for her a few days prior.
Speculations and theories circulate in town, leaving more confusion than answers. A deep dive into the victim's life reveals many passion-fueled twists.
It is said that a deceitful heart is deadlier than any weapon. The sins of the falls might lead its participants on the road to their demise.
Elle Gray lives in a small town with her 2 cats, and her handsome husky. As a girl, she was obsessed with crime novels and thrillers.
Today, she loves writing and creating thrilling novels with courageous, strong heroes/heroines and dangerous psychopaths. She invites you to join her exciting world of detectives and FBI agents that take down killers and kick butt.
A famous writer was having a signing of her latest book and the sheriff’s significant other was smitten and attending. When the sheriff arrived the writer and her so were talking and the writer was rubbing on his shoulder and the green eyed monster was awakened. Of course he had no idea but enjoying the attention of the beautiful author. Later that night the author was found dead in her car shot through the face numerous times. The husband of the author was the first suspect but his lawyer wouldn’t let the sheriff close to question him. Several things came to light 1. She had a lover 2. He had a lover 3. They belonged to a swingers club 4. They loved each other . Enjoy
I've read all of the books from the beginning and this one for some reason, I just didn't care for it. I just didn't really care for Spencer's character or how she handled herself while investigating the murder. She's definitely not the Spencer we've all come to know and love. Another off putting thing was how they are just now bringing up the fact that her deceased husband was a cheater and that apparently had some impact on her. Why not just leave her husband's character the way it was. A good husband that she loved and loved her back. He's dead so no need to tarnish the image you already painted of him.
I love this series, but this one was not one of my favorites. The storyline wasn’t as exciting as others in the series and I did not like the jealousy angle on the main character. Rather than being a facet of her personality, even if more of a character flaw, it felt immature and out of character. And I didn’t like the chasm between her and Ryder you can feel is being developed. They just got to a good point in their relationship and it’s already going south? Ugh.
Finally, a Spenser Song book without all the political drama of her "coming reelection" and the opposition she faces from "the mean girls- a group of women who never grew out of high school" and a rich jerk who's pissed at her for his son's arrest a few books ago.
This book focuses on the murder of a famous local author and despite the motive pointing to "marriage issues"- the motive was entirely different.
The lives of Spenser, Ryker and the team at Sweetwater Falls is always so riveting. This case was truly thought provoking and showed a side of Spenser that quite honestly surprised me, but also showed me that she is human. I sincerely hope that she and Ryker persevere and come out stronger in this battle with his Father. I think he grounds her and she him and if anything would happen to them would not be the same. I look forward to the next book.
This was an extremely complex case for the Sheriff's department due to personal feelings, as well as surprising unexpected twists that will keep you guessing until the very end. The case was made even more difficult when there was threats towards the investigators, but as always, they just buckled down to figure out who was behind it all. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
This is a review for Elle Gray's book #12 of 20 (Sweetwater Falls Series) Sins of the Falls. This is a great read with many twist and turns. I was not able to figure this one out all my assumptions wete wrong this time. So kuddos to you Elle Gray. I love this series and so far the fact that each book has its own twist and turns. I love Elle Gray's writing and on to the next one in this series. Thank you Elle Grays and keep them coming.
Interesting book had a life of it's own. Someone is very jealous of the book, stating her mom wrote the book, not Dallas James.. Dallas and her husband were both very much into .The Swingers club, had to follow the rules, not everyone plays by the rules. That keeps Spencer on her toes, which is a cluster.
Then comes Ryker's dad is going be the reason for something happening to him and Spencer.
Can't wait for follow up with the dad issues

This book, as with all in this series, was excellent. I couldn't put it down, not with all the twists and turns and secrets. The ending was unexpected & I actually felt like Spenser, somewhat sorry for the killer. I look forward to more of this series & especially the ongoing relationship between Ryker & Spenser.
Sins of the Falls(A Sweetwater Falls Mystery Book 12)
OMG!!!!!!!! This book was truly amazing and confusing. There were many suspects, and the killer was someone so far out in left field that you wouldn't suspect them, you really need to read this series. I can't wait to read the next book.
Spencer Song, Sheriff has a nasty murder on her hands.
Spencer and Ryker are having problems with his Father’s dislike of Spencer. Then she has the best excuse not to talk about it. A famous writer has been killed in a real nasty murder. The investigation keeps hitting high walls and has to be dug at and change of pace to direct the investigation in many ways.
The surprise isn't that Spencer and her team solved the mystery of a beloved hometown author. No, its the who dunnit. Follow Spencer and company as they go through suspect after suspect only to rule them out. Meanwhile Spencer's future father-in-law drops a bomb on her which leaves her teetering regarding Ryker. Great job. Thank you.
This has been one of Elle Grays best books that I've read so far. I know there are a lot more to read but this one had a depth that really held you and brought you closer to the characters. If you hand not read her work I feel you are missing out on some great reading.
Kept me guessing all the way thru...I think this is my favourite series by Elle Gray -- read it in one sitting. Now, I just have to wait for the next one... ... ...
I can only repeat what I've said before. Elle is a fantastic writer, whose talent and imagination will always have me as one of her biggest fans. This series has me waiting impatiently for the next book. Well done!
Killer you might not suspect but plenty of suspicion to go around. Spencer once again has a murder on her hands and she just got back from vacation. Who killed the beloved hometown author? Will Evan, her boyfriend’s dad, ever accept her?
The author tells a great believable story and the characters come to life! I really enjoy each book. I hope there are more books coming out. Really love Sheriff Spencer and Ryker.
I love the whole series. I plan to read everything by this author. It is very refreshing to read books without all of the vulgar profanity. It's not needed if the author can write. The whole series has twists and turns and make you want to read more.
Elle manages to keep my interest and keep me from putting her books down. Some keep my interest more than others but I still look forward to the next in the series.
a homicide with so many suspects in such a small town
As Spencer worries through her lack of rapport with Ryker’s father and her own insecurities, a startling and unexpected homicide occurs pitting the Sheriff’s Office against Sweetwater Falls’ wealthy and connected denizens.
Sheriff Moon in this book has Alot of old feelings brought up. A woman author killed was it her affairs that caused this or some deep dark secret. The sheriff has her job cut out for her.
I really enjoy ms gray’s writing style. It keeps me glued to the story and the perpetrator is never who I think it is. This was another fine example and I so enjoyed it!
This story is one of my favorites of this series. It made me want to write a story of my own! Your writing inspires me and I'm looking forward to the next installment! Thank you, Ms. Gray, for keeping me entertained and inspired!! 💖
It was challenging to figure out who and why Dallas James was murdered. The clues pointed to a number of individuals but Spenser kept b running into dead ends. Good story.
even after solving crimes, regular life ain't easy
Relationships and murder, This book shows neither are easy to figure out. Have fun figuring both out on this story. This contained plenty of questions about relationships.
I am more than happy to review this novel, but if you have been following either my reviews or Elle Gray in general, you know what I am about to say. This woman/writer is phenomenal, as so the entire Sweetwater Falls Series. Keep reading, it only gets better.
This proved to be a challenging investigation for Sheriff Song, who meticulously examined every possible lead until the truth ultimately emerged, revealing the hidden details of the case.
3.5 stars: I have liked this series so far. This book was my least favorite. Not sure why we are changing Spencer's character up? I do like Amanda and Jacob they are cute characters. The story was "ok".
Elle Grays books are amazing. Her writing is fantastic, the plots are engaging, and she’s always got a big twist you never see coming. See what I did there lol
This was a great story about Spencer and team who killed a author and finding out who done it and why. Thank you for this excellent story with lots of suspense and action.
