It was just okay…
I was hyped when I saw the title of this novella but it fell a little short. Both characters were quite superficial but I guess you can’t do much with a short novella. The biggest issue for me was the fmc REFUSING to marry the mob boss after she sought him out AND PROPOSED to him. What gives?
The spice was okay but I wish it was slightly more scandalous. I wish the author wouldn’t save all the taboo filth for AR Taboo 🌶️
I enjoyed some of the bratty vibes, which were absurdly funny. The fmc was a bit irrational but at least she was entertaining.

I am going to spoil the fuck out of this piece of shit, so I can reread this and remember why I hated it. Don't waste your money on this story!
Safe? (He saw her as a child, but I still hate experienced heroes and he seems like he is very experienced which I already hate!)
No cheating after they meet (he saw her when she was a little girl and recognized her eyes when she went up to him at the restaurant)

H seems experienced. There are contradictory statements never answered or addressed.

Story is that Pru has to marry a man she doesn't want to marry, so she goes to propose marriage to Vitaly. She saw a pic of him and developed a crush. He is in his restaurant dining, and he refuses her and even embarrasses her unnecessarily, saying that she has lips that can suck cock. What a fucking prince this asswipe is! He says he wants to keep her to ruin her before giving her back to her father, so he kidnaps her. He drugs her for no reason, she wakes up, gets mad for good reason then she snoops around trying to escape. He is rude and also forces her to strip and even shows his gun as a threat, so she lies down so he can shove his fingers and break her hymen to "check if she is a virgin", even though he knows she is innocent. He makes her cum and I have to say that being a fan of dubcon/non con play, this was done ALL wrong. It was not sexy, it was not a kink, it just felt like he wanted to humiliate her and scare her. That part bothered me and made me hate him even more.
After what is supposed to be banter between them (I felt nothing between them, not a single spark), he makes her dine with him. He then makes her go to a dinner he hosts every year where all the mob bosses are including the 'betrothed' and her father, and that is when he proposes to her in front of everyone. He says that he wanted to accept her proposal right then and there when she first offered, but accepting so quickly would somehow make his entourage gossip. So he had to plan how to do it.

"Mistress?” I make a tsking, and I see the flash of anger in her eyes. “The moment I put my ring on your finger, my life became yours. My vow is that I will never betray you or your trust or our marriage.” I release her neck and then get down on my knees in front of her. “I’m yours, and that means I will never belong to anyone else, little one.”

That excuse was a crock of shit! I don't believe him for a second! He could have told her when they were alone, plus his inner monologue does not reflect him planning to marry her! There were no sweet thoughts of how to woo her. His inner monologue NEVER revealed that he had a plan to keep her because he wanted her! I thought he was a powerful mob boss who wanted her, but he didn't have the balls to do it then and there? He was afraid a guard would let it slip?? So what if he did? And was humiliating her necessary? When he went to the dinner, he tells everyone that she doesn't have a ring on her finger, therefore he can claim her...so the excuse was so stupid because she had no ring on her when she proposed to him!
All he thought of was how hard it made him to order her around. Fuck this story! It sucked! Can we be done with the used up experienced hero paired with the virgin heroine already. It is not sexy. It was not explicitly said if he did fuck before, but everything points that, plus he never denies it!
AR has lost her mojo a LONG time ago, and even two brains put together, this is what they offer us as "romance"? It is bland. There is NO chemistry between the H and h. The plot is stupid. There is no love felt between the H and h, and during the whole short time they are together, she is concerned he is a manwhore, who must have fucked tons of women. He only tells her that he will be faithful in future, but never assuaged her fears on whether he was with plenty of women or not. If it is a fear of hers, then we as the reader want to know as well, and all we get was ambiguity leaning towards us to believe he could be a fuckboy. All we know is that he hasn't fucked anyone in his home, but she says that he could have at any other place where mobsters take women, like her father did. He says that she is the only woman he intends on keeping,

That makes her think that he has done that to women before her, and the question is yet to be answered. This was a quick, insta-love read that was good, but would have been great with more development. Pretty much the entire book happens in 48 hours. There's a bit of whiplash from the hero going from "not interested" to "I love you" in the span of a few hours.

These two characters had me so invested in the story. I love how Pru's brattiness came off the page with a sense of humor. Even so serious, Vitaly couldn't take it, either! They were total opposites, but it was yin and yang, as the Japanese would say.
The book had some violence thrown in, but it's a mob story, guys! Not over the top, I might add! It's a good story that was well balanced, as all of Alexa Riley's books give. The book is a five-star read, or as I like to say, get five hearts from me. I can't wait until the next book in the series comes out!

Pru needs to escape her father and the arranged marriage he has planned for her. With the help of her best friend she escapes to Vitaly Parlov he father's rival. Vitaly is immediately intrigued and possessive with Pru and takes her proposal as a way to gain more power. It was alright, they were both obsessed with each other and both got what they wanted in the end. Pru got to be free of her father and the other man she was to marry and Vitaly got a bride and more power. They fell in love and lived HEA.

Si pudiera ponerle 0 🌟 lo haria, definitivamente tengo que dejar de leer a esta autora. Que m fue esto brother, encima el final todo inconcluso, no me importa si es que habrá otra historia de Nolia y Lucas donde se explique que pasa con el papá de Pru porque se SUPONE que es el villano de este libro y debió quedar RESUELTO. La historia pasa en 24h y se dicen te amo, i mean sé que es un insta love, pero ni uno ni el otro hizo algo para poder decirse TE AMO, que protas más X la verdad.

Typical Alexa Riley but falling a little short of her classic novellas. Wish the H did not sexualize/made fun of the h in their first meeting in front of his men. That is not something I would have expected to read in an AR book. Anyway the spice was good and the epilogue with kids perfect. I am sometimes tired of reading novellas from AR cuz I know how amazing her full length would be. Don't know when they will write one.

I read this book under 1 hour. It more or less looks like a short story from wattpad. The story has no plot and it might have been good if the story had developed and had more length. All of it were instant and very surface level. Thats why it's 1 star
