I was kindly given an ARC of this book, and it did not disappoint! I enjoyed every second of it, and it was such a refreshing read.
Logan Schober perfectly presented the high school characters “Dorothy” and “Mr. Romcom.” (I absolutely love their joking nicknames.) The banter between all of the characters is great! I definitely enjoyed the way she wrote her high school characters! I also really liked how mature the characters seemed and their communication with each other, rather than just being extremely immature high schoolers!
I love how each character goes through changes and comes out with a happy ending. At the introduction of the “mean girl” in the story I was like ‘of course, it wouldn’t be a high school romcom without a mean girl.’ But, I loved her character growth throughout the book! Each character faces their own struggles even though everyone may not know about them. As the reader you understand each character and why they behave the way they do.
I absolutely loved Benedict! He was such a gentlemen and just so sweet. He’s the troublemaker kid who has to clean up his act or get expelled, and Amelia seemed to help keep his act pulled together. He continues to be a better person as he grows with her. Amelia’s sassiness cracked me up! I absolutely loved how they joke with each other and she’d get sassy.
Overall, it was such a lighthearted and sweet read! I would love to see more of Amelia and Benedict after high school and even how the other characters storylines play out.
Very cute debut novel! This story is a YA romance and set in high school. Feisty and sarcastic Amelia. Protective and sweet Benedict. Their love story is sweet, and they are so adorable together. I enjoyed watching Ben and Amelia's banter and all the glorious Wizard of Oz references. Interesting and likable supporting characters round out the main characters of this story. An easy read with no high angst and I love that.
A great sweet read for anyone looking for a adorable YA romance!
I was graciously given an ARC of this title. I recently finished reading this delightful book that filled my heart with warmth and joy. The book follows the story of two characters, Benedict and Amelia, whose relationship is nothing short of adorable. What I loved most about them was their willingness to be vulnerable with each other and the amazing communication they had. However, I found myself wanting to know more about how they navigated their relationship after high school. Despite that, the book was a quick and fantastic read that left me wanting more. The author wrote this book perfectly from a teenager's perspective. While it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel, I am eager to find out what happens next!Logan Schober
This book was a very cute read that captured the essence of high school life and romance for our main character Amelia. Amelia is a passionate student and aspiring journalist who is recruited into Briarwood Academy, where her mentor Ben proves to be a unique challenge. I particularly enjoyed hearing about Amelia's experiences with Journalism, and the sweet nature of her various relationships, whether it be platonic or romantic. I also enjoyed the different aspects of character growth we got to see for both main characters and side characters!
Highly recommend if you're looking for a comfort read for lovable characters in a YA setting!
This book is YA Romance perfection! It’s got just enough young love to keep it flirty without crossing any lines— with boundaries that young adults in relationships would benefit from reading actually. The whole book has an undertone of teaching and showing self respect and self worth which makes the book very lovable being that the main characters are in the range of 16 years old. Many young adult milestones are prevalent and topics that a high schooler may encounter making Logan’s writing/story line very relatable. A sweet story! I can’t wait to see if there is more to Ben and Amelia’s love story!
OMG!! This book was one of the best I’ve read in a while! It was absolutely brilliant and adorable! Every one should have a Benedict in their life! It was so sad to turn that last page and know that the amazing story was over, I mean this is the kind of book you wish would never end! This book has the perfect amount of romance plus witty female main character energy! I would totally read over and over!
