This book set covers Brazil's in a precise format that gives you an in-depth overview starting from the indigenous cultures that thrived before European contact, Portuguese involvement with the sugar industry and the harsh slave trade to the key events from the rise and fall of Brazil's Empire along with its transition from the empire. The books are well written and informative and makes for an excellent reference on Brazil's history.

Fairly good content but felt rushed and brief. Author seemed to have a political bias instead of providing facts. Desired more accounts and stories from the mythology section instead of the creation/deity legends of old. Didn’t hate my time reading it but looking for a better account of Brazil and its cryptids
