"I've never had a man who was willing to protect me, let alone four of them.”
Noelle thought she could escape her past by running to the mountains, but when her obsessive ex-boyfriend tracks her down, she crashes her car and ends up stranded in the icy wilderness. Just when all hope seems lost, she’s approached by a group of reindeer who are not exactly what they seem. She almost can’t believe her eyes when the reindeer shift into four brawny men who are determined to help her.
In the small hidden village where they live, Noelle heals from her physical and emotional scars, but also finds herself falling for each of them. Love and magic intertwine, giving Noelle a glimpse of the peace and happiness she’s always dreamed of. Unfortunately, with the holidays closing in and anger lurking in the shadows, is it possible to hold onto this dream or is it all just too good to be true?
S/O to Lily Flowers for putting this on my radar. I really enjoyed it and I’ve never thought about reindeer shifters before. I liked the magic aspect, Luke didn’t suffer enough for me but I do appreciate Noelle being her own savior. Will absolutely read from this author again!
I really wanted to like this and in small moments I definitely did. But this suffered from single pov monotony. It was annoyingly repetitive and at times I resorted to skimming because i felt like I’d already read it. The author did a good job conveying physical sensations but just because this is why choose doesn’t mean every scene needed to be group. And I was confused and annoyed as to why a magic village that really should have been called a small town would need reindeer shifter protectors. Or why the author chose to make the town accessible to anyone but claimed that Noelle finding it was destined. I think this had potential to be magical and unique but it fell very flat for me.
I liked that they weren’t born shifters but enchanted. You don’t see that often. And such a unique animal, right on par for the holiday. The escalation between the FMC and MMCs was too abrupt and sudden. I did get a little bored. I am glad the FMC saved herself at the end.
Some parts were repetitive and there were some misspelled words. I didn’t like how this book was edited.
I like how Noelle gets a piece of everything she needs throughout the guys. The fact Dom, Corvin, Allister, and Ben are reindeer shifters is different for me, but I wasn't amazed by the story.
