This is the love story between a top notch lawyer and a war correspondent/journalist who meet on a blind date that ends after ten minutes. ML (lawyer) holds beauty as the most important requirement and MC (war correspondent) doesn’t meet his “aesthetic”. Life keeps putting them in each other’s path and guess what.... ML starts to realize there’s so much more to MC.

I wouldn't say this is a *great* novel but it is a really easy and enjoyable read if you need a palate cleanser (and okay with web novels).

I loved the writing style. The author really has a way with words that touched my heart.
Why not a higher rating then? Because this story felt very convenient when one looks at all the plot points. They had to be thrown together by circumstances … they were thrown together by the most ridiculous circumstances possible. One had to be shallow at the start … boy was that guy shallow even though he should have known better. They had to be separated to make the heart grow fonder … yeah, guess what happened. It went like this for the whole story and even though I know by now that no danmei ever portrays reality it felt too orchestrated to me to enjoy it full heartedly.
But even though it felt like a staged play it was an entertaining story nonetheless and I read it more or less in one go. For a danmei it was rather short and that was exactly what I needed after the way too long winded one I finished before this one.

I FUCKING LOVE THIS BOOK! I went into 他的蜜 thinking it would be a short and simple love story, something sweet and easy, but it completely blew me away. The emotional tug-of-war, the blazing chemistry, the slow unfurling of trust... everything was so beautifully, painfully, deliciously done! It has that exquisite taste of enemies-to-lovers, not outright enemies, but two people who genuinely did not like each other from the start and had to travel such a long, complicated path to end up together. And reading that journey? It was really delicious. They were so hot for each other, so drawn to each other even when they couldn't admit it. I was so obsessed!
But what truly made this story unforgettable were the characters. First of all, Xiao Yichi... He is my heart, my soul, my everything. He is one of the most amazing shous I’ve ever read. A war correspondent who has witnessed horrors that would break most people, yet remains gentle, grounded, humble, and warm. I cried so many times because of him, because of his quiet resilience, his selflessness, his unshakeable kindness. But the way he undervalues himself really breaks my heart. He has this way of moving through the world that makes people love him instinctively, and I am no exception. His small acts of goodness earn him friendships that become important and lasting, and it's so touching how the world responds to him with love he doesn't think he deserves. I am in love with him in a way that words can barely explain.
And then there's Yu Zhinian: principled, rigid, cold, raised with high standards for everything, including beauty. He is the complete opposite of the bubbly, grounded Xiao Yichi. Honestly, I lowkey hated him at first. He was openly cruel to Yichi, dismissive in a way that made me want to throw hands. But at the same time, he couldn't help worrying about Yichi in the shadows. And once he fell? He fell hard, so hard he shattered his own standards. This man, who prided himself on lofty tastes and refined ideals, broke every single one because of his Yichi. Oh, the simple and unremarkable Yichi becoming the most beautiful thing that happened to his life, I'm so sold! It’s insane how mutually obsessed they become. The passion between them, my fucking god! The way they love each other physically and emotionally is so intense you can feel it in your bones.
What makes this story even richer is how human it is. Xiao Yichi has met so many people through his work, and his sincerity leaves marks on their lives. He’s crossed paths with important figures, yet he remains utterly grounded and simple, almost unaware of his own worth. I even cried at the parts where he thought he wasn’t "good-looking enough" because Yu Zhinian's taste was so particular, but Yichi's beauty is something deeper than superficial standards. He is beautiful in a way that transforms everyone around him, including Yu Zhinian, who ends up falling for that exact sincerity he once dismissed. They're flawed, both of them, but the way they help each other grow makes their relationship feel so real and earned.
I can't help but acknowledge the way the author wrote everything about this book. Xiao Yichi's emotional depth. Yu Zhinian's painfully slow softening. Their flaws and how they help each other grow through them. The grounded, lived-in world of conflict journalism and ordinary life. Everything is just so wonderful. I was so invested in their story that I genuinely wished for side stories about characters like Qiu Lanshi—I really want to know more about him bro—the world is so rich and the connections so meaningful that you can't help wanting more.
This entire journey was incredible. I never expected a story like this to hit so hard or to be written with such intention and emotional weight. 千十九 created something breathtaking here, something that made perfect sense in every way, threading sweetness and trauma and longing together so perfectly. I adore this book. I adore Xiao Yichi. And I adore the intense, flawed, beautiful love he shares with Yu Zhinian. This wasn’t just a book; it was an experience, and I'm already excited to read it again! This is definitely a new favorite.

Truly reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice.
Two men went to a blind date because their close aunties set them up and one was immediately judged by the other as "not pretty enough". The rest is history. Well. His Honey, I guess.
I was apprehensive during the first two or three chapters becacuse I'm now sure if Xiao Yichi is gonna react appropriately to Yu Zhinian's comments and I don't want to read a story with too much dog blood like that. Fortunately, Xiao Yichi turned out to be a chaotic gremlin who will throw smart-ass one liners back at Yu Zhinian's cold faced personal attacks. While their first few meetings were extremely rocky, they turned out to be multidimensional characters who were actually very mature in life. I didn't expect all the twists and turns but they were much more mellow than the usually more dramatic twists, and the characters took those twists in stride with maturity instead of running away and crying alone in the corner or something like that.
So why did I say it was reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice? Well, Xiao Yichi was never "I can fix him" and stayed on his lane while persuing this relationship, while Yu Zhinian slowly tried to move away from his past traumas that made him into the bastard that he is. I really enjoyed their relationship and their characters. They were extremely consistent in all their choices and words.

Based on the title, you'd expect a sweet read, right? Well, it's not only sweet—it’s also pretty steamy! I really enjoyed it; it was a short, relaxing read, and I loved seeing these two sad souls brighten each other’s lives. That said, I did skim through the last few chapters, so... yeah.

Para Yu Zhinian, su pareja destinada debe ser de una apariencia y personalidad "atractiva", donde su belleza no solo sea superficial, sino que además, tenga una intelectualidad preciosa. Fue como si se encontrara en medio de un jardín de rosas blancas, con belleza exquisita y que florecía bellamente, pero ¿Qué sucede con las espinas? Las apariencias hermosas también tienen sus espinas.
Xiao Yichi era entre todas esas flores, un girasol. Creció amado, pero en medio de su crecimiento siempre buscó el sol y en algunos momentos, se quemó, dejando marcas en su piel. Pero sus pétalos amarillos asemejados a la miel y su radiante personalidad, fueron suficiente para llamar la atención del estoico y recto Yu Zhinian. Aún cuando fue un hombre que jamás pensó en interesarse en un girasol, porque era diferente a él.
Esta es una historia corta, pero apasionada entre un reportero de guerra audaz (shou) x un abogado serio y con temor a amar (Gong). 25 capítulos fueron suficiente para amar a estos dos chicos, aún cuando en algún momento Yu Zhinian se volvía un terco, distante y no era honesto, luego llegué a comprenderlo un poco, ya que su raiz a todo, era el miedo. Miedo de amar y miedo de ser nuevamente dejado atrás. ¡Xiao Yichi! no tengo nada que decir, más que ponerle un altar, siempre tan directo en lo hacia, decía y de los pocos que le hacían frente a Yu Zhinian 😍😍 ¡ENAMORADA DE ESTE HOMBRE!
La lectura fue exquisita, amé esas referencias al idioma al español y con extractos de poetas como Unamuno. EL PEAK DE LA LITERATURA ♥️♥️

เรื่องของคนที่เคยมองผู้อื่นเพียงเปลือกนอก แต่กลับกลายเป็นคนที่คลั่งรักในท้ายที่สุด
ชีวิตที่ผ่านร้อนผ่านหนาวผ่านเรื่องราวมามากมาย แต่ความปรารถนาในชีวิตนั้นขอแค่ความรักอันร้อนแรง
จุดประทับใจของเรื่องนี้คือการที่ได้เห็นตัวละครตั้งความหวัง ตั้งอคติในใจตั้งแต่ได้พบกันครั้งแรกแต่พอได้เจอกันในสถานการณ์ที่ต่างกัน แสดงความเป็นห่วงแบบไม่เปิดเผย มารู้อีกทีก็รู้จากปากคนอื่น ก็เลยเริ่มแปรเปลี่ยนความคิดและความรู้สึกของตัวเอง มีกลิ่นอาย slow burn ที่ burn จนไฟลุก มีจุดร่วมเดียวกันคือความโหยหาสิ่งเดียวกัน แม้ว่าจะเข้าด้วยกันได้ดีมากแค่ไหน ทั้งคู่ก็ตระหนักได้ว่าหน้าที่การงานและความรับผิดชอบนั้นช่างต่างกัน รวมทั้งปมฝังใจที่เป็นปัญหาหลักของตัวพระเอก ซึ่งมันก็เป็นจุดวัดใจของความสัมพันธ์ของทั้งสองคนนี้ว่าจะพัฒนาไปต่อกันได้หรือเปล่านะ
ความสวยงามของเรื่องนี้คือการสอดแทรกโควทของวรรณกรรมและปรัชญาเล็กๆแบบกลมกล่อม การแปลก็อ่านได้ไหลลื่น ไม่รู้สึกติดขัดอะไรเลย รวมทั้งเรื่องสายอาชีพของนายเอก การบรรยายความรู้สึกเจ็บปวดจากการทำข่าวสงคราม ชี้เห็นให้ผลกระทบของสงคราม ซึ่งในเรื่องอาจจะไม่ได้ลงลึกประเด็นสงครามมาก และเป็นอะไรที่ค่อนข้างละเอีย��อ่อนด้วย เป็นเล่มเดียวจบที่รู้สึกว่าเล่าได้กระชับและลงตัวแล้ว ครบรสและสนุกมาก
จุดที่น่าเสียดายคิดว่าคนอื่นๆน่าจะคิดคล้ายกันหมดคือหน้าปก พอได้อ่านแล้วก็ค่อนข้างรู้สึกว่าคาร์ตัวละครบนปกต่างกับในเนื้อเรื่องไปเยอะอยู่เหมือนกัน หรือจริงๆเป็นแผนว่าอย่าตัดสินเนื้อเรื่องจากหน้าปกเหมือนที่จือเหนียนมันตัดสินหน้าตาอี้ฉือในตอนแรกนะ ฉันเกือบพลาดแล้วไง

ชอบมาก เดินเรื่องกระชับ ฉับไว จริงๆแล้วสามารถเป็นนิยาย 2-3 เล่มจบได้เลย 👍👍 ถ้าเคยอ่าน the wrong way คหสต. คิดว่ามีความใกล้เคียงกันอยู่บ้างค่ะ

ตัวละครมีพลังให้งัดออกมาเล่นกว่านี้ได้อีกเยอะ โดยเฉพาะนายเอกที่เป็นนักข่าวสงคราม
แต่ plot และลักษณะนิสัยของ character ยังค่อนข้างธรรมดาทั่วไป
ไม่ได้หวือหวาอะไร ไม่ได้ทิ้งปมดราม่าจนเกินไป
ไว้อ่านในวันที่อยากได้อะไรย่อยง่ายๆ ได้
ส่วนที่ชอบคือการแทรกบทกลอนภาษาต่างประเทศของพระนาย ผ่านอารมณ์ในซีนสำคัญ ที่ดูน่ารักมาก
แต่ plot และลักษณะนิสัยของ character ยังค่อนข้างธรรมดาทั่วไป
ไม่ได้หวือหวาอะไร ไม่ได้ทิ้งปมดราม่าจนเกินไป

Actualmente cuento con 0 horas de sueño porque leer esto me dejó completamente ENGANCHADA, simplemente quería seguir y saber que pasaría... Ahh, es una historia muy buena para pasar el rato... Tiene sus partes graciosas y sus partes tristes/conmovedoras... Me encantó el desarrollo que tuvo el abogado Yu, él es simplemente un bebé con su peluche de Snoopy😔🩷

Honestamente, me estaba asustando de una manera impresionante (se me bajó la tensión, se me subió la presión) cuando se comenzó a narrar: "Pasó una semana... Pasó un mes... Pasaron dos meses..." LITERALMENTE me quedé fría cuando leí eso JAKSKDKAK yo dije mk acá fue... Me van a meter un time skip de seis años en mi propia cara... lo chistoso es que ya me estaba preparando para eso así que me alegra haber estado equivocada.
Lo que quiero destacar con lo anterior es que me encantó cómo se manejó ese período de separación... La determinación de Yu Zhinian y Xiao Yichi para seguir adelante fue verdaderamente emocionante. También me gustó cómo el autor retrató la actitud de Yu Zhinian... Él estaba tratando de seguir adelante con la seguridad de que Xiao Yichi regresaría, y por eso comenzó a dejar su huella en todo lo que hacía Xiao Yichi... pero al mismo tiempo, estaba luchando con sus emociones porque lo extrañaba TANTO que lloraba por las noches... Hasta el punto de no seguir abrazando su peluche de Snoopy porque no debería de estar triste... Aahh, mi corazón... Un toque de angst bien logrado 🚬

Me encanta la personalidad de xiao (ojalá ser tan asertiva como el algún día) me gusta el desarrollo de personaje de yu y como se forma su relación.
Fue bastante ligera y cumplió el cometido de distraerme de lo que pasó en el segundo capítulo de the last of us, si me gustó, estuvo linda, bye
