This book was so sad, the mother was trash the stepdad was too but mama was the worst. Divine, went through the same only to find out that Lyrics stepdad is her best friends dad this man was sick in the brain also the grandmother was trash as well.I hate the book ended the way that it did. Giving it five stars wish she could have got justice and got peace.
Wow! Lyric had went through so much. I just wanted to hug her. You better have a box of Kleenex handy. This was an emotional read but shows the resilience of Lyric. It had some twists in it. The underlying plot was love. How we receive it and how we give it. It sad some people don't recognize the difference. This was a very good emotional read. Kudos to the author for her inspiring opening statements at the beginning of the book. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book is a short read but it is HEAVY. I think the story could be beautifully told as this book was a great start but it almost feels more like a rough draft or outline. The storyline is great and has so much potential however! This being based on a real story makes it even more heartbreaking. Nobody deserves to go through any of the things this poor baby went through.
I didn’t really care for this book. It seemed a little rushed. I feel like the author just jotted down their thoughts and just did a rough draft. The timeline just kept jumping and how does an epilogue take place at the same time and setting as the last chapter? I just wish it was executed better considering the topic being discussed
my heart breaks for lyric. This book deals with heavy topics please check trigger warnings before reading..
I wish I would of loved this book but I just couldn't. I felt like it was all over the place and missing some important pieces to it. yes it was a quick read but I felt like it could of been more.
My heart aches for young lyric. No child or anyone should have to experience such pain . This book touches on triggering subjects but there’s some children experiencing this in reality as well as adults good job Vette for being the voice
It wasn't the content of the story. I think there is a true need for the discussion on some of the themes within the book. The writing saw disjointed and left a lot to be desired. I don't believe I've read anything else from this author, but it wasn't for me.
