My Queen wants none of this world, her past standing in our way, along with secrets that reveal our connection long before now. With every fiery interaction, I can feel her resistance crumbling. Soon, she will see that there is no escape. She is mine. She is The Alpha King’s Queen.
Publisher’s TheAlpha King’s Queen is a stand-alone book, HEA guaranteed.
I am so disappointed by this book. It had such great reviews I thought I was in for an exciting ride. Unfortunately for me it turned into a hate read.
To start I hated Ava, the FMC. I almost DNF’d at 45% because I was so over Ava’s continuous dismissal of the mate bond and the King when he was nothing but good to her. She was constantly running away or angry when the King stood up for her. She was always embarrassed or uncomfortable about something. I did not like her insecure personality. The one redeeming quality was her ability to fight which also brought out her dominance. But even that felt out of character for her.
I hated the lack of communication. She would do her usual thing where she was embarrassed or uncomfortable so the King would give her space. Then Ava would be upset and insecure that he was taking space. This was so tired. Just freaking talk to him like an adult. She acted like an irrational teenager but she was supposed to be a grown ass woman.
The slow burn was annoying and not at all satisfying. You know when you read a good slow burn and you feel all this delicious tension and when the dam breaks your heart does little flutters and you kick your feet in both relief and excitement. Well, that’s definitely not this book. This book was like, let’s just have the FMC push away the MMC, who’s perfect btw, for no real reason until she finally gives in. Even when she gives in she’s so second guessing everything. But fine, whatever, we can at least move forward. Let’s set a date for the mating ceremony! Oh wait, jokes on you. The FMC is conveniently poisoned so they can’t complete the mating because the King might be infected if he bites her. 🤦🏽♀️
Okay then…they move forward…slowly. Then suddenly she’s in heat and oh my gosh, they are finally doing it for the first time, and oops, she accidentally bites him. Don’t worry, it’s fine, he didn’t bite her. Things were tense because she’s so potent but it’s all good now. The heat abates and they are able to continue their mission in the Underground facility.
Then less than 24 hours after she’s finally happy being mated with Braiden, she’s abducted…for four freaking years. This part is where the story made me angry. I absolutely hate the memory loss trope. It makes a book feel so useless. Why the f*** did we just do all this leg work for the FMC to lose all her memories and have to start back at page f***ing one? I was so beyond angry with this turn of events. Then to rub salt in the wound the author literally rewrote scenes from the beginning of the book into the end when she has no memories and is discovering her mate and his pack again to give us some irritating dejavú. I’m sure the author thought that was cute, but I didn’t.
Then the fact that Braiden finds Ava after becoming engaged to Selene…again…made me want to launch my phone at the wall. I can’t believe he would even consider making her his mate after how she treated Ava. It’s just ridiculous and so out of character. Even if he was lost to his grief and rage this still doesn’t make any sense. Also we never find out what fate befell her. Is she in prison or did she die? I hope she’s dead.
There were only a few things I liked about this book. The main being how strong Ava’s wolf was. I felt extremely let down that it wasn’t a larger part of the story. For most of the story she’s laden with silver shards and can’t shift without being in pain. The silver is finally removed when she captured and we get to see her fight once in the end in her wolf form but I really wish there was more with her wolf free.
Overall, I loathe this book. I would not recommend it.

This book doesn’t know the meaning of “show, don’t tell”. I almost dnf’ed around 40% but finished because I honestly had nothing better to do with my time. This book was bad in almost every way. The plot was just 10 tropes in a trench coat, character details/backstory were arbitrarily added in when it was convenient (e.g. we need a way for them to bond emotionally, oh look he was a prisoner too!), the villains were cartoonishly obvious, and the book got so inconsistent towards the end. I’m genuinely confused about how this book is rated so highly.
I would have rated this a high 4 stars except for the weird time jump 77% into this book. h’s memory is wiped cleaned, she’s with a new guy, and she has a 3 year old daughter. 😬
Before the kidnapping and time jump, H and h were building a beautiful life together. H was a fantastic MC. After the time jump, he is right back with a woman he knew was evil. And he was still letting his mom hang around. It made no sense.
Wow I went into this story blind and boy did it capture me pretty quickly ! I love a good shifter romance and this had a great story steamy scenes and funny banter not gonna lie I did guess a certain person being the villain and traitor but honestly was not expecting some of the other twists ! Good book looking forward to reading more from this author!
I loved this book and couldn’t put it down from the start. It was one of the few books I’ve read where the mmc was a kind, good man from the start. No playing games, no hurtful rudeness or coldness. This is what a love story should be. Not toxic and demeaning like soooo many books I’ve read . The twist broke my heart but its resolution was satisfying and I loved this book so much .
I was hooked but the last several chapters felt like so much exposition and not much actually happening. I did love the twist though. I think the whole last chapter could have been cut and the ending would have felt more powerful.

As stated, I love a good fated mates omegaverse. Thrown in an abused fmc and an mmc willing to do it all to change her mind. Plus the little twists, breaking my heart, and healing it all in the end. HEA!!
Ok full disclosure, this was my first Alpha mate genre. Or whatever it's called. (See, new. Be nice.) With that being said, I loved it! I couldn't put it down! The heat. The feelings. Everything I didn't know I was missing! I only wish there was a mark of the time that passed & maybe a little of what his father thought. There was just no notice. I still immensely enjoyed this & will give another a try. If you have any recommendations, please let me know! Would 100% recommend. If you haven't read one like this, give it a go. On to your next!
Honestly, I should have DNF’d this one. The story is riddled with plot holes and a timeline that just doesn't add up, which really hampered my overall enjoyment. Additionally, the grammatical errors were abundant throughout the book. I’m giving the story a solid 1 star—but I must note that the spice scenes earned 4 stars. So, if you're solely in it for the steamy moments, you might enjoy those parts, but otherwise, save yourself the time.
It ripped out my heart, made me laugh, made me cry, made me happy! The villains are worse than I imagined. It's a fast moving story, with every emotion you want in a spicy PNR and then some. I want more!
I jumped into this book not knowing what to expect. I was starting to go into a reading slump and this definitely helped as a refresher. My only complaint was there was a trope in here that I wasn’t a big fan of, but the ending definitely saved it for me!
Wow this was unexpected. Packed with drama and action. Wow.
Twists I didn’t see coming and some I did, very well balanced. I mean it’s a wolf shifter book and those are my favorites! So I might be bias but great read. The ending felt alittle rushed but honestly it wrapped the story up nicely.
The villain in the story really shows at the end. And wow you really end up hating them
10/10 I would recommend to someone who likes wolf shifter books for sure
The Alpha King’s Queen had a premise that intrigued me, and the world-building itself was introduced smoothly enough. On the surface, the setting was easy to follow and not overly confusing.
However, emotionally, it fell flat for me.
I struggled to fully connect with the characters, no matter how much I tried. The emotional depth just wasn’t there in the way I needed it to be. Big events were happening, but I wasn’t feeling them.
There was also simply too much packed into one book — kidnapping, a time jump, brainwashing, and multiple dramatic turns layered one after the other. Instead of building tension, it became overwhelming. Major moments didn’t have room to breathe, so their impact felt diluted rather than powerful.
The concept had potential, but the execution didn’t allow me to truly invest in the story or its characters. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me.
Very good story line but where did his sister go and his dad the story changes too much needs a relly good review of it would also recommend to rewriting it and look it as a hole instead of jumping around so much
Im giving this book a 3. Its not bad but the plot is kinda everywhere. There are parts that I wish were in there. Im left with some questions lol. Its an easy read though. Read it in a day so it was good enough not to DNF but like I said I have questions.
Big one for me was, what about her parents? Like I get not actively searching them out but nothing? What happened to the Butcher after everything? What was with Jerry's obsession? What happened to Selene? What made Ava so different? What happened to the mate that rejected her? What happened with the pack she left from?
Some questions did get answered but not enough that I felt everything was tied together with a pretty bow. I also felt the chemistry was mixed with Braiden and Ava, sometimes I could feel it while other times I felt like "what?"
Like I said its 3 for me which mainly means it was ok not bad not great but meh itll work lol. These are just my opinions, always read the book yourself because you may love it.
No hate to the author either, it reads like one of those stories on wattpad or one of those type stories.
I rated this book 3.5 stars This was a random read and I was pleasantly surprised.
Have you ever been fooled into reading one of those pay-to-read books? The author pulls you in with the drama and angst but it has so much filler you want to bash your head. I get so pulled into those things but never finish. The plot of this book caught my eye because it was kind of similar to a pay-to-read book I had started.
This book did not disappoint and thankfully did not have the filler (or plot holes) of the million chapter pay-to-read books.
There were several plot twists, lots of angst, yearning, and drama, which kept me reading nonstop. There were several what-the-heck moments and oh-no-you-didn't!
A couple of my grips, which were minor were the time jumps. There were several moments where months, even years, passed with no warning.
Also, I don't think we ever find out what happens to the dad at the end. I would have loved to see his reaction to the outcome. Plus, the ending never gives us a glimpse into the aftermath or Ava as Queen.
I’m always on the search for a good shifter book. I started to read this one and thought this is one of the best shifter books I have read in a long time…and then it became frustrating. I loved this story until ~75%. Absolutely loved Braiden and Ava and their story. Then Ava’s disappearance and the story seemed to fall apart at this point. Braiden had already realized how bad his mother and Selene were and the manipulation that they did. His mate is gone and he just accepts back his mother and Selene into his life??? That is when the book took a nose dive. Was he with Selene during this time??? He never said either way. That was unacceptable how he took both of them back into his life after they treated his mate so awful. The time jump with Ava was not a smooth transition.
Overall a great story. For me the last 1/4 made the quality of the story drop.

RTC, was ok until 75% when either the author took a break and forgot what was previously written or just wanted to hurry up and finish. Deeply disappointed that the H would even consider mating and marking with a woman who broke pack law and tried to kill his mate, it doesn’t fit his character. It would be a betrayal, and he knew she was a snake.
I can’t even explain this book. It is great. The attention grabbing details are insane. Recommend 100%! You won’t want to put it down once you start reading!
Ok wow. 4.5 ⭐️ Yes, I can be a bit critical of shifter books, as many I’ve read feel like mass produced pnr spice. Nothing wrong with that, it’s like junk food. Tastes good in the moment, hard to put down, but doesn’t leave a ton of long-lasting satisfaction nor does it elicit strong emotions. Well this book is not junk food.
What Benjamin is able to achieve with these characters was pure magic. Seriously I loved them all. Even the villains understood the assignment. (I just wanted more honestly!! More time with the evil characters to really hate them, but there is enough there to detest them for sure). I absolutely loved the MCs. Braiden is a big ol’ green flag alpha with a sexy smirk and penchant for spanking, and all I could think this whole book was “yes, please”. Ava was sweet, shy, kind, gentle, rejected and therefore wary, but also fierce and sassy towards Braiden which was so fun to see. To witness her growth into the Queen she was destined to be was great. The side characters were 🤌🏼, with Nick and Samuel being the best ever and I want a whole book just about them.
The twists in this story got me. I’ll admit it I did not see a couple things coming, and that’s rare for me as I stalk reviews and am pretty good at guessing what’s coming. But yeah, some audible gasps flying around over here at certain moments (won’t give big spoilers).
My heart broke a couple of times and damn it if I didn’t tear up a bit. But then the author would have me smiling so big it was like I was right there in the story feeling the characters’ joy/relief/happiness. Not an easy thing for an author to do.
The spice was 🥵🥵, the tension building as Braiden patiently waited for Ava to catch up to him was just… mmm. I was seriously like “please when will this happen I can’t take it anymore!” lol.
A great read that will have me returning not only to reread this story but check out what else the author has!!

The fact that our super swoon worthy mmc has sexually assaulted the female main character FOUR TIMES BY CHAPTER 7 is diabolical.
Jellyfish have survived 450 million years without brains. A ray of hope for the author of this book and those who rated it above 2 stars.
EDIT: i also need to add this bit directly from the book because it is HEINOUS
"[Ava] already knows. I can see her going through every memory, picking apart every interaction. The possibility validating every action they took when they discarded her like no parent would. Because they were not her parents."
Hey, Eloise, how do you feel about adopted kids? Surrogacy? Kids who are living with guardians that aren't related to them?
Not to mention that bio parents discard their kids ALL THE TIME. They kick them out immedietly when they turn 18. They neglect them for thousands of reasons. Don't even get me started on kids who are lgbtq+ in some way shape or form.
This is a disgusting thing to put in a book. Especially since this is coming from a character we're supposed to agree with. Do better. Shame on you.
