A New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, she’s renowned for writing heart-wrenching romances with laugh-out-loud dialogue, alpha males, and absolutely sizzling sex.

I met my dearheart when vacationing in the Caribbean. Now I won’t say it was love at first sight. Actually since he stood over me, enjoying the view down my swimsuit top, I might have been a tad peeved—as well as attracted. But although we were together less than two days and lived on opposite sides of the country, love can’t be corralled by time or space.

We’ve now been married for many, many years. (And he still looks down my swimsuit tops.)

Nowadays, I live in the west with this obnoxious, beloved husband and a seventy-pound lap-puppy. I’m a gardener, and I love nurturing small plants until they’re big and healthy and productive…and ripping defenseless weeds out by the roots when I’m angry. I enjoy thunderstorms, collecting eggs from the chickens, and visiting the local brewery for the darkest, maltiest beer on tap. My favorite way to spend an evening is curled up on a couch next to the master of my heart, watching the fire, reading, and…well…if you’re reading my books, you obviously know what else happens in front of fires.

5 Hurt me, Master Stars

Changed my mind. I could use some sweet wildcat pussy, and you're up. I'm calling in my debt."
"What? You said no."
"I said when I wanted. Choose - do I fuck you here or at your house?"

Holy mother of bookgasms. I have been a fan of Cherise Sinclair for a while, but I have to say that this is probably my favorite book by her to date...and I'm not usually big on sadists (with the exception of my favorite kinky priest). At least not the hard core one. And deVries? Well he's as hard core as they come. But this is a Sinclair book, and after all

So of course I had to read it the second it released. I was expecting a spicy little read, but what I got was so much more. There was a little suspense, action, romance, and some dirty kinky loving that will leave you so hot and bothered you'll be panting by the time you finish the page.
That's right," he murmured. "You can take me." He forged in, relentless as only the Enforcer could be, doing what he wanted for his own pleasure.
"Hurt, baby?" he asked.
"Yessssss." Her answer came out a moan.
"Perfect." His laugh was deep and gruff."

I have to admit, I was a little concerned when less than 10% into the book Lindsey and deVries were already thrown into bed together. I like to feel that sexual chemistry really burn before the couple comes together. When it happens too quickly, most of the time it pretty much lowers the enjoyment for me. I was afraid that this may be the case here, but deVries did not disappoint. Not long after he fucks up royally and allows his inner asshole to come out. Which of course had only one affect on me

What? I happen to have a soft place in my pervy little heart for the assholes. But I digress...

Lindsey is in hiding. Fleeing a murder charge and men that want her dead in Texas, she finds herself rebuilding a life in San Francisco. She's been unbearably attracted to deVries since she first laid eyes on him, but he's never made any move to show he reciprocates the feelings. And besides, she's not what he needs. She may be a submissive, but she's certainly not a masochist. At least not up for the type of pain the deVries likes to dole out. But when the Dom finally decides to claim her? Well, what girl in her right mind could possibly turn him down? He's sexy as fuck, and orgasm donor...and he apparently has a soft side...well, to a point, anyway
"What are you doing?"
"Sleeping. I'm wiped. Not safe to drive."
"Oh"
He wanted to cuddle? The Enforcer?
"But-"
"Go to sleep, or you'll spend the night gagged.

I really loved Lindsey and her Texan quirky personality. She was this perfect combination of sweet, endearing, quirky and sassy. She was the perfect match for Zander deVries' tough and sadistic side. Did I also happen to mention that Zander is an ex Navy SEAL and mercenary?

Both Lindsey and Zander have a past that tends to color their present and the way they respond to things. They both have had their share of heartbreak, though Lindsey's past is quite a bit darker. She's determined to protect the people she's come to care for from her secrets. But Zander is determined to uncover each of them.

Filled with action, hot sex, suspense, a sassy submissive and a sadist that's determined to break through all her barriers this book will definitely leave you

If you're a fan of this series, be prepared to fall hard for Zander. Although this is part of a series, this book can easily be read as a standalone.

With your pulse like that, either you're scared or you're horny." He slid his palm over her panties, ascertaining for himself exactly which it was. "Soaked."
"I'm sorry. I'm fine. Don't-"
"Shut it." With pitiless hands, he tossed away the covers and flattened her onto her back. "Just as well. I didn't get enough of a taste."
"But-"
"You don't wear underwear if you're with me," he growled. "And you don't withhold something I want."

Any questions?

Didn't think so ;)

Mixed Signals and Contradictions

Let's start with the good. Sinclair excels at describing sex where the female form is praised and worshipped, in a variety of shapes and sizes. There is never a doubt that her heroes love women. They adore them. The kink always highlights how the female relishes the act of submission even if other elements cause discomfort for them. So, these are beautiful representations of M/f D/s, For that reason alone reading a Sinclair book is highly rewarding and validating experience. In fact, recommended.

The White Knight Syndrome is where I start to disconnect from the story. Like the later Shadowlands series and all the stories I've read thus far to varying extents, there is a troubled female running from something who needs saving/helping and the big strong alpha male is there. Not only does he help, he swoops in and takes over whether or not she likes it.
“Now that I know she can’t be trusted to look out for herself, I’ll keep a closer eye. As will Simon.”

This attitude is a bit too high-handed for me and does not appeal. And neither does the Brotherhood of Dark Haven that will aid her while riding in under the leadership of de Vries.

The first issue is compounded by the second, Weak Naive Female. Lindsey doesn't disappoint here and I have to say the ignorance and hubris that a good-hearted, well intentioned female will save the above White Knight--who is a highly trained, hand to hand combat specialist by lying to him and keeping him out of her problems while in reality dragging him right into them is annoying and makes me want to strangle her. Again, part of the theme Sinclair writes too, so I can't really mark down since I knew what I was getting myself into. But still, the idea that a person, not even going to say female, who thinks they are better qualified and their actions are useful in providing physical security for a Navy Seal is an idiot. You just highlighted the stupidity of Lindsey, not her big caring heart.

Now, this book in particular has some real doozies that make me shake my head and just say, "No." Wrong.

Macho, Dom posturing in a batter women's shelter --so wrong I can't even begin speak to it. When de Vries dominates Lindsey in this setting, I blew a bolt. His ignorance and her lack of professionalism in the workplace, in providing a safe haven for tormented women and children is inexcusable.

Lindsey is unreliable in her relationship with de Vries and the behavior she demonstrates with him makes me feel highly uncomfortable that she should be advising battered women when she can't stand up for herself in her own relationship.
"Her insides were still quivering. DeVries might be pushy about getting what he wanted, but he always made her come at least once—usually more—before he finished. Damn it. How could she yell at him properly when she was all flushed from coming?

Major kink fail. Lindsey lies to de Vries about more than the past she's running from, she lies about what she needs and feels comfortable with in their relationship.
When deVries wasn’t in Dom mode and deliberately making her uneasy, she was comfortable with him, whether arguing over which television show to watch or trading him cookies for gardening work. He was surprisingly fun to be around.
Honestly, this bit threw me so far out of the book I was stunned. Sorry, but Lindsey, you're his submissive, you should bloody well feel comfortable when he's in 'Dom mode'.

---I took a bit of a break from the book at this point because it had riled me to such an extent that I knew my reasoning abilities were compromised. *Cues Muzak*

When I came back, I tried to reason why this book was setting me on edge as much as it was. And what I realized did not make me happy. There are significant mixed signals in this book. Setting Dark Haven in San Francisco makes the progression to having homosexual relations represented a no brainer. Unfortunately, I don't think it is successful. While Dixon is an energetic, faithful, protective and all around lovable addition to the sub pool --think of him as the new Sally, there are other elements in this story which overwhelm any positives to stepping out of the completely heterosexual pool. There are going to be some spoilers in order to make my points so forward past to the next paragraph and skip them if you haven't read it.

The one thing that made me really happy was the exploration and acceptance that Lindsey and de Vries needs didn't align perfectly, she's not a masochist, but through discussion after the aborted fleeing scene they come to an arrangement that works for both of them. I LOVED this. LOVED it. Easily my favorite part of the story.

I didn't enjoy this book. The kinky play was hot and I was happy to get a better sadist, but the actual story aggravated me. I think I've got to admit that Sinclair's books just aren't for me anymore. My needs are different.

DeVries was here— no trespassing.

All Lindsey wanted was to run away from her past, make enough to get by and get her kink on. In Dark Haven, not only does she find a home but adopted some awesome loving friends. Lindsey loves the lifestyle, a natural born sub who wants to serve a master, but refuses to be collared down in case her past finds her and finishes the job they didn't get a chance to complete. She almost didn't make it out alive the first time, doubt she would be that lucky the second time around. Her perfectly simple life changes when deVries decides to call in her debt, wanting her for one night...but one night wasn't enough and soon deVries inserts himself in her life, whether she likes it or not, coming over uninvited and spending every moment he can with her. Not giving her a choice at all, crawling his way under her skin by pissing her off.
“I-I can’t believe the Enforcer wants to go steady.”

His eyes widened in disbelief, then narrowed. “Now I do have to hurt you.”

deVries is a masochist, a Dom through and through, needing to unleash pain to satisfy the craving in him to find pleasure, but with Lindsey it's different, she isn't a masochist, but he finds he can reach pleasure with her because of her alone. deVries has never had a relationship before so he doesn't know where to begin, while Lindsey has had two marriages under her belt. Not one to trust her own judgment, she is clueless how they could ever work when she can't satisfy the need in him, because there is no way in hell she is sharing what is hers. Keeping her past from deVries proves to be more of an issue than expected, triggering her memories causing her pain that leads to no where but nightmares. Her snoopy dom begins to unravel her past, leaving her no choice but to accept his help. There is no sense of denying her Dom's wishes when he is a born protector, she just hopes that no one else she cares about is hurt in the process.
You’re mine. Mine to care for.” He ran his thumb over her full lower lip. “Mine to fuck.” He leaned forward, his mouth an inch from hers. “And mine to protect. Don’t forget again.”

I’ll start off by saying I love the author’s style and love all of her books so I was pretty damn excited to read this … BUT as much as I wanted to love it, I didn’t.  I have to admit I think my “sadist” mentality is getting a bit out there, because he wasn’t as much of a sadist as I wanted.  He was still delicious in is dom-ness but I wanted a tad bit more pain with this read. But that aside Edge of the Enforcer was a suspenseful- emotional-erotic read that had me wondering throughout, never really knowing the what or the why, as her story was revealed throughout the book. Told from both their POV's, we see how truly broken they are, they both have a past, but together they are both what each other need. This was another great addition to the Mountain Masters & Dark Haven series, can't wait to see what happens next.

Typical Miss Sinclair BDSM book. I do enjoy it OK. I wish for more sadistic BDSM lifestyle more. The plot is pretty flat. The sex scenes are hot.

The chemistrt is so so. Lindsey is typical damsel in distress. Needed a lot of saving.

♦ 4 "More-than-kinky" Stars! ♦

Edge of the Enforcer is the fourth book in the Dark Haven series by the amazing Cherise Sinclair. I love her writing and this story is fabulous in itself. This book is the story between deVries a.k.a Zander (a hottie sadist) and Lindsey (the new receptionist in Dark Haven).

C. Sinclair is one of my favourites when reading BDSM and this is no different! Edge of the Enforcer gives the readers a different, kinkier view of BDSM (or more than you expect in a 'normal' BDSM book). DeVries is a real sadist, a man who enjoys (a lot) the painful part of this sexuality. The love story is beautiful and even though Zander and Lindsey pass through difficult situations, their relationship is strong and finishes in a very sweet/hot way :)

Love the secondary characters too, especially Dix LOL He is so funny (and at the end he gets a smokin' hot man as well ;)) Moreover, I love how Cherise incorporates the other charaters from other books in her stories! I love to know more about the other couples!

So, if you are into erotica books and you like them kinky, Cherise Sinclair's Edge of the Enforcer is for you!

The Romance Review

EDGE OF THE ENFORCER is a must read from talented erotic writer Ms. Sinclair.

Lindsey is a woman in hiding. She's hiding from corrupt law enforcement agents as well as wrongful murder charges. Even though she's staying on the down low with a new identity, she can't resist the BDSM scene. This is a safe haven for her because most everyone is discreet about their life outside the club. Photos are usually prohibited as well as discussing the "outside" life.

While Lindsey is part of the club, she doesn't play too much. She prefers to watch, specifically the scenes with deVries. Master deVries decompresses at Haven, especially after one of his ops. Although he works security for one of the other dominant at Haven, he picks up side jobs for another for-hire group specializing in rescue and recovery. His job is literally life and death. It's no wonder he needs something to help him unwind. It's no surprise he leans towards heavy impact play as well as edgeplay. Known as the Enforcer at Dark Haven, his intensity is panty-wetting goodness.

The plot and conflict of this story is smooth as expected from Ms. Sinclair. The characters are great, too. Rather than do a breakdown and assess the character creation, world building and plot, I'm going to focus on how she developed her characters' relationship. On paper, Lindsey and Zander don't match up well because Lindsey is more into sensual play and D/s. While Zander does enjoy D/s and some sensual play, his real hunger is for heavier SM. This can be a problem for a couple because the needs don't meet. The conflict created by the differences is prevalent in the community. Many couples do crash and burn because someone will become resentful or the party not getting their needs met will look elsewhere. Ms. Sinclair does an excellent job of providing an alternative which both Lindsey and Zander gladly accept. It does hinge upon a concept which many couples can't compromise upon. Zander can feed his sadistic tendencies by being a Service Top with Lindsey's approval of partners. This is divine. It's the best of both worlds.

From a BDSM perspective, Ms. Sinclair once again does a smash up job. She shows how triggers can be more than just a bad sexual experience or a bad BDSM scene. She pens some erotically hawt scenes, one which includes knifeplay and a bit of mind-fucking. Each of the scenes in the club are ones I've seen in dungeons and parties I've attended. The BDSM community Ms. Sinclair exhibits in the story is still a bit more romanticized compared to reality. While there are dominants and submissives/bottoms with the same beliefs and attitudes as the ones at Dark Haven, the balance between the positives and ones like HurtMe is probably more 70/30. In this story, HurtMe comes across as an exception. In real life, those like HurtMe are not exactly prolific, but it's not a rarity.

This story is a perfect blend of BDSM scenes and real life baggage with a twist of suspense. This is a book I couldn't put down and read into the wee hours of the night. Highly recommended for BDSM lovers who have graduated past the Gateway to BDSM stories. Buy this book now.

Absolutely Cherise Sinclair at her finest.

I adored deVries - a big, tough, rough and hardcore sadist who, it turns out, is a bit of a sweetie under that brash and harsh exterior and, Lindsey, his sub is just adorable.

This has everything I adore in a BDSM romance - the kink isn't too far into degradation that I don't enjoy it (Cherise always gets this right for me), a great alpha hero that I adore, a heroine that I can identify with and believe in, awesome secondary characters (esp the doms), a bubbling suspense plotline and an angsty, thoroughly engaging romance.

Perfect

Still as good as the first time.
This was one of those moments where, when a little lost in what to read, reading one of Cherise’s stories is a choice i will never regret making.

Cherise's Mountain Masters meet the Dark Haven Masters, both with special people.
The Masters of the mountain have a different playground than those of Dark Haven, but both have fun tying their subs in knots.
Even when bullets fly and things get scary, they still find time to play with their loved ones.
As a fan i say: buy, read and embrace each and every one of them

Damn you hot overprotective sadist :D

Reading a Cherise Sinclair book is like being wrapped in a warm blanket and snuggled on someone’s lap after an intense emotional scene. Edge of the Enforcer, the latest in the Doms of Dark Haven series is no different.
The book focuses on Lindsey, the part time receptionist at BDSM Club Dark Haven and deVries, the club’s sadist, known as the Enforcer. He is known to be bi-sexual, participating in scenes with both men and women.
Lindsey is on the run from a trumped up murder charge for killing her late husband, who happened to be brother to the town’s crooked Chief of Police. While she has been fascinated by DeVries, she knows he’s not for her: he’s too much of a sadist, he has every sub clamoring for his attention, and, if he were to be involved with her, he could be in danger from her past. But DeVries himself takes the choice from her, spending the night in her bed, but misjudging her the next morning. Can this lonely submissive and damaged Dom make a relationship work? Or will Lindsey’s past and deVries’ insecurities come between them?
The book was emotional, grabbing the reader’s attention from page one and not letting go. When the book is finished, the reader wants to dive right back in again. The relationship between Lindsey and deVries was torrid, and the character development superb. Add in a complex plot, several overprotective Doms, and some over the top BDSM scenes, and you have a remarkable book.
Only Cherise Sinclair can make a sympathetic character out of a sadist. But deVries only pushes as far as his subs can go and his affectionate and overprotective nature make him drool-worthy. Lindsey is a big-hearted woman who is loyal, strong and incredibly brave.
We get to re-visit some old friends-Simon and Rona, Logan and Becca-plus 1, and Jake and Kallie, Xavier and Abby, and Dixon; all from previous Dark Haven books. Some of the others are mentioned but don’t play a direct role in the story. This is a standalone book-everyone’s relationship is explained neatly, but it is nice to know the back stories.
Expect some intense BDSM in this offering: caning, cage play, anal play, whipping, flogging, knife play and electrical play among others.
Overall, another outstanding effort from an author who never fails to please.

I will admit I was a little disappointed in the last Cherise Sinclair book with Sally and the Feds, so I was a bit apprehensive coming into this one. Well, I LOVED it. In fact, I think this book far exceeded my expectations. I should have known too, because I’ve only once been disappointed and I’ve read every single one of her books.

What I loved the most about this book was the compromise. I was wondering how Cherise was going to pull off writing about a sadist who falls in love with a woman that is not a masochist. Let’s face it, you can’t always control who you fall for, and just because you mesh well in other aspects of your life doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll mesh in ALL aspects. Lindsay was definitely a submissive, which actually made it even harder that she wasn’t a masochist because she had the need to make her Dom happy. She felt that she couldn’t meet Devries needs, and she couldn’t. I love how Cherise worked that all out.

I liked both Devries and Lindsay. The backstories about them was awesome, and I felt like I really understood both characters and their motivations. This author always does a good job with character development. She also does a fantastic job of building the relationship and giving us some steamy, and definitely inventive, sex scenes along the way. What I wasn’t expecting was to get sucked right into an equally awesome plot to go with the rest. This was definitely one of my favorites of all her books. Can’t wait for the next, and I promise, I will never again doubt you Cherise:)

I just adore Cherise Sinclair's books! Yes, some of her bdsm scenes can be crazy but even a vanilla girl like me can appreciate the hotness that goes alone with those scenes and Ms. Sinclair is the queen of writing them! Her writing style is just something that i've really grown to love, not only does she write HOT sex but she always finds a way to weave in an emotional side to these characters and stories. By the end of her books she even makes me want to curl up in the scary sadist's lap!!

I just loved Devries!...and he was scary creepy in past books, he was the "enforcer" at the club, known for his no mercy attitude and punishing skills...eeeekkk!! But holy cow did his soft side come out with Lindsey or what!? Yep, by the end of this book i was definitely a lover! And i loved all the characters that are constantly featured, from past books!

Fans of this series should not miss this one! Fans of her Masters of Shadowland series, who haven't yet read these, should most definitely read them! I think i may actually like this series a little bit more....i would say, it's a bit more tame, not quite as harsh, as some of the Shadowland books. Another winner by Cherise Sinclair!!

YES, YES, YES!

Best Sinclair book so far. I loved every second, every word...just everything.
*sighs* And Zander....I want one of those! Seriously. Just don't tell my boyfriend. Upps. :D

I'm a puddle of goo, with mushy feels and good port portion of kink in the mix. Damn, Edge of the Enforcer was a good read.

So... my reaction when I saw that the 4th book of the Mountain Masters & Dark Haven series was out...

when I finished it...

There's a reason Miss Sinclair is my ultimate favorite BDSM, D/s and Het books author, she fucking rocks!

So this is the story of our cheeky Lindsey and our favorite big bad sadist deVries a.k.a. The Enforcer.

Before I start, I just have to say, how awesome is Sinclair's author's note? I never tire of reading every time I read a book of hers. I just think its so perfect.

On to the story...

We have Lindsey, after running away from her hometown after being changed with false murder she lands in the city of San Francisco, where she builds a somewhat steady life, its appears her life is about to change forever after she has a night filled with passion, orgasms, bondage and disappointment with deVries.

DeVries, a mercenary/security specialist who's also a sadist on his spare time is knocked out of breath when he becomes infatuated with cute little subbie Lindsey, who's isn't even a masochist, but she's everything that he wants, sexy, gorgeous, sassy, strong, loyal and honest. Or so he thought seeing as her ID is forged and apparently a gold digger, but he will take it upon himself to uncover the secrets the little sub hides, no matter the cost to anyone, or even himself...

This story was just simply amazing, I just love love love all the characters, Im in perpetual love with Master Simon and now deVries.

When Simon reached the table, he slid his fingers into Rona’s hair, tugged her head back, and the possessive kiss he gave her made Lindsey’s chest ache.

One of the things I specially liked about this book was just how flawed the characters were, don't get me started on deVries, he can be a real dick when he wants to and he jumps to his own conclusions at the top of a hat, but I forgive him, cause even if he's a big bad sadist he knows when to admit he was actually wrong. Also, I liked that the MC's weren't 100% compatible, I had never encountered a book where they weren't -in this case a sadist and a non masochist sub- but I thought it was managed brilliantly, I just fell in love more with them. Also, Miss SInclair's heroines are always perfect, I usually end up not liking or being annoyed but female MC's but there women are strong and courageous and totally unselfish, whats not to love? This series along with the Shalowlands series is definitely a MUST READ.

Using one finger, he stroked over his bite mark on her shoulder. Felt like he’d branded her. DeVries was here—no trespassing.

“Listen, I understand why you were unhappy with me, but it’s better if we leave well enough alone.”
“I’m not much on leaving well enough alone.”

He pushed her hand off his chest and yanked her forward into a full frontal. “You mean when my cock was buried in your pussy, or when I took your ass?” His head lowered, and his words whispered against her lips. “Or licked you until you screamed?”

“Oh. The sweep of sweetness took her by surprise. “God, I love you. I really, really do.”
“Well.” He tapped her nose. “For that, you get chocolate.”

Lindsey smiled, amazed at how the mere sight of Zander lifted her heart. Well, aside from the fact a bulky jacket made him look as if he could wrestle grizzly bears. Be still my heart.

This is the 2nd sadist character Cherise has written. The first character, his woman was a masochist so it made sense they’d be perfect for each other after working through some issues. In Edge, Lindsey is neither a masochist nor does she want to be one. So how can this work, right?

Well, it worked perfectly of course with many bumps along the way. I also love that in some of the more recent books from Cherise a lot of time is spent out of the BDSM Clubs and shows the characters in their jobs and lives away from the Dom/Sub situations in the Club.

Alexander deVries is both a mercenary and in the security business working for Simon. Its after a mission his masochist needs come out and he needs to decompress at the Club. Since the subs he mainly scenes with are men its assumed he’s bi-sexual. That is not the case and I liked and understood the reason he gave.

Lindsey has been working as one of the receptionist manning the front desk of Dark Haven. We’d met her in a previous book but didn’t know the secret she was hiding from everyone. Turns out she killed her husband in self defense and has been on the run ever since.

Lindsey owes deVries from losing in game that was played in a previous book, when he calls that token in both of their lives change but with deVries having a few hang ups from an ex wife and Lindsey being hunted by men that will kill her if they find her there road to happiness is not an easy one.

The story is equal parts BDSM and outside life. Its written so it all blends perfectly. Every character from the previous Mountain Masters and Dark Haven make an appearance in this book which was great to see how all the couples were doing and even getting to see them in action when things go south when the men hunting Lindsey find her.

I am always sad when I come to the end of a Cherise book, I could read her stories forever.

I wasn't sure if I would like another story with the hero as a Sadist. What was I thinking? This is a book by CS and I loved her Master Sam. Needless to say I wasn't disappointed with The Enforcer of Dark Haven. Although, there is No Way I personally would want to be in a relationship with a Sadist, and at times in the book I cringed, he really was a caring, loving man. My only real problem with him was his propensity to jump to conclusions although it was made clear in the book why he was like that, but still that is an area he needs to work on.
I loved Lyndsey. She was a strong, brave, loyal woman who had a big heart even after all she had been through. I loved some of her Texism's and her talks with her dead father. She definitely had trust issues and there were times when I wanted to yell at her to tell Zander and her friends what was going on.
I wasn't sure how Zander and Lyndsey were going to work out the issue that he is a Sadist and she wasn't a Masochist but they did and I could see how it would satisfy both their needs.
Zander and Lyndsey were perfect together and oh how I loved seeing past loved characters like the Hunt's, Simon and Rona and Abby and **sigh** Xavier. And I loved sweet Dixon and was glad he got his Dom. I want to know more about Detective Ware and Sir Ethan and hope they get a story.
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this story.

4.25 Enforcing Stars

ZANDER...OMG! No words can describe the need to climb him like a tree and snuggle with him and CUDDLE with him everyday, 24/7!!

Im fairly new to Mrs. Sinclair but I´m really loving everything she is writing so far...needles to say, this has to be one of my favorites.
The smocking hot scenes and "plays" between the main characters (and we got to see all the previous hotties) and suspenseful storyline makes this a fun read.

So why not 5 stars? Well...I got a bit bored with Lindsey´s story, somewhat predictable but Oh well.... He still did it for me and kept me soaring way after the end.

3 stars. It wasn't a too bad book. There were a couple of sex scenes that were pretty hot. Other times it got on my nerves. I didn't like Lindsey or Desvries as a couple. This is the first BDSM romance book I've read, certainly not my last.

When I open the pages of a book written by Cherise Sinclair I make certain assumptions. I assume I’m going to be reading a well-written book with fully developed characters, an intriguing story and unbelievable hot, passionate sex. I have never been disappointed by any of Ms. Sinclair’s books and her newest one, Edge of the Enforcer, just continued this winning streak.

Alexander DeVries is a Dom at Dark Haven. Because of his sadist tendencies he is often called upon to “punish” errant submissives, hence his nickname “The Enforcer.” He is attracted to one of the subs at the club but doesn’t believe that Lindsey can handle his particular kink of pain. But after a session of beating on a male sub, DeVries needs a sexual release and Lindsey owes him after losing an earlier bet. He calls in the debt and finds himself wanting more with Lindsey.

Lindsey is definitely attracted to DeVries, but secrets from her past prevent her from wanting a relationship. She can’t stay away from the sexy sadist though and worries that once he discovers her secrets he will not want her anymore.

I fell head over heels in love with Alexander DeVries. Despite being a sadist, DeVries is a gentle and caring soul. He is everything I would personally want in a Dom, well except for that whole pain thing. He recognized Lindsey’s insecurities and went out of his way to reassure her and build up her confidence. And does he ever know how to make love to a woman. Their relationship was so authentic especially when they had to work through the issue that Lindsey was not a masochist. Ms. Sinclair masterfully created characters so real that I want to be friends with all of them.

Hot, steamy BDSM scenes are a given in any Cherise Sinclair book, but I think she may have outdone herself with Edge of the Enforcer. I have always found the whole BDSM world fascinating, but couldn’t imagine being turned on by pain. Ms. Sinclair showed the beauty behind the pain and left me with a better understanding of what drove DeVries. She also left me hot and bothered but that’s to be expected.

What I find amazing with Ms. Sinclair’s books is that even though she writes about Doms and submissives, she never forgets the importance of the storyline. Interwoven throughout the passion is a story filled with intrigue and drama. Even knowing that we’ll be getting a happy ending, I find myself on the edge of my seat waiting to see how we are going to arrive there. The twists and turns along the way make the journey fascinating and unexpected and bring a good book to a level of greatness.

Edge of the Enforcer is the fourth book in the Doms of Dark Haven series. I have not read the other books in the series, yet I had no difficulty following along. Plus, my appetite is now whetted for some more Dark Haven and I look forward to going back and catching up with this series. Look like it’s going to be a hot summer for me!

Hot and intense are the best words to describe the new book by Cherise Sinclair! She’s the master of the BDSM books and this book is the proof of that. As always, the very good plot and characterization made one more great read for all the fans of this genre! The author manages to create very sensual books but her stories isn’t truly about sex. The characters are finding themselves and the place they belong as they learn to accept their needs.

This story is about Lindsey and deVries. She is a submissive with a secret and because of that she left her hometown and she hides on San Francisco. DeVries is a sadist and he wants her for some time. He knows that she’s hiding something and he will do anything to find out what is her big secret. Lindsey wants him but she’s also scared. He wants to push her to her limits. And she’s willing to let him.

I like Lindsey a lot. Of course, I believe that the very young Lindsey was very naïve but she paid for her faults in a very ugly way. She’s a survivor and a proud woman that doesn’t accept help easily. She’s also a fighter and willing to die in order to do the right thing.

DeVries is a force of nature. He’s a sadist and a determined man. He knows what he wants and he’ll do anything to get it. But, as a human being, he made some mistakes. His past haunts him and that’s why sometimes he acts before he thinks and the result is to hurt Lindsey. But he always apologize and he understand what he did wrong and that is something that I admire.

The sex scenes in this book were beyond amazing! As always, almost every couple from the previous books is in this story also and I was happy to see all the Doms in all their glory and all the subs becoming friends.

I totally recommend this book to all the fans of this genre!

Not my favorite of the series. You just can't beat the last book, My Liege of Dark Haven in my opinion. It was one of the best in character development, sexiness and emotion. Xavier did it for me in My Liege where deVries/Zander in Edge of the Enforcer did not.

I had no issues with deVries being a Sadist. It's not Sinclair's first portrayal of a sadist but it is the first time she has not paired a sadist with a masochist. I enjoyed how Sinclair played that angle and how both deVries and Lindsey worked at finding a solution and balance to their desires that worked for both of them.

What kept me from loving the book? deVries was a ass for the most part. I'm not sure if I commend or want to jack slap Lindsey for giving him so many chances. deVries was a hot head, quick to judge, overreact and form his own conclusions. He showed very little emotion, and lacked the sexy edge of personality that I've come to expect from Sinclair's Doms. When he would get over being mad at Lindsey, he would then want to "fix" her and her problems. As soon as I felt like the story was developing/progressing, deVries would accuse or assume the worst of Lindsey and it was one step forward, two steps back.

I did enjoy the possibility of an m/m story developing with with Dixon and Stan. I hope Sinclair makes that happen!

Hot damn, this was crazy sexy M/F goodness! I haven't been in the mood for M/F for quite awhile, so this was a great book to ease me back in. The BDSM was super hot, I loved the barking alpha male, even when he went too far by my regular standards, and the damsel in distress was actually tough as nails and didn't whine and complain. Bonus! (Yep, my pet peeves with hetero run deep.)

Recommended for fans of M/F BDSM. Enjoy! And a special thanks to my buddy Tina K. for her review rec. *fist bump*

After only two books, it may be too soon to say this, but I think me reading Cherise Sinclair's books is

description

I tried Club Shadowlands--it didn't work, but I wasn't going to give up based on one book. Then when I saw this one I thought it would be a good way of killing two birds with one stone: reading another book for my BDSM challenge, and seeing if Cherise Sinclair's kink is for me. This being one of her latest books, it was a good way of seeing if her books got more to my liking. For a little while I thought they had.

Edge of the Enforcer had one hot beginning. It was so good I thought my luck had changed, but I'm afraid right after that was when it all changed for the worse, and not long after I just wanted to get it over with.

By now I've pretty much forgotten all their names, so I will be calling the main characters hero and heroine. The names are written in the blurb, but they mean nothing to me, so hero and heroine it is! Okay, so the relationship between the hero and the heroine didn't sit well with me. I wasn't buying into all that:
One sadist. One submissive.
One extraordinary love.

No, sir!

I felt like they were incompatible. In a D/s relationship it seems bad when the sub gets uncomfortable when their partner goes into Dom mode, because that Dom is a sadist. I haven't read any of the previous books, but from what I've gathered these characters are known from before, so why not just pair them with someone who could fulfill their needs: the hero with a willing masochist, and the heroine with a soft, nice Dom, and not put me through reading about these two together. She will probably spend a lot of time flinching, and he will be afraid of scaring her off. Meh...
They did get to a solution for their differences in preferences: he'd go be a sadist with male masochists, and play Dom with her. It's something I would've suggested (though limiting him to male subs... oh, come on!), but when he actually did it, and then just left with the heroine, I felt terrible for the male sub who got beaten and left to someone else to handle his aftercare, especially since that male sub seemed to have some feelings towards the hero. I heard that the hero was bisexual in the previous books, but I guess he got straight here. Who knew that could happen? All I know is that I would have preferred a book with that sub and the hero.
This being a BDSM romance, that was my major issue, but it wasn't alone.

The hero was an asshole, and the heroine suffered from damsel-in-distress syndrome, and both had their moments of acting like idiots. Many moments. Long moments. My prediction for them is that they're not gonna make it.

Seeing the whole group of characters from this series together, seeing how they are, how they interact, and play made me come to the conclusion they are too vanilla and conservative for my taste.

Truthfully, the whole book (the beginning excluded) just rubbed me the wrong way.
