They say if you play with fire, you'll get burned, but nobody warned me that Pine Valley's gruff Fire Chief would make getting scorched feel so damn good.
When flames engulf my house, leaving me trapped and terrified, I find myself in the powerful arms of Luke Harrison, Pine Valley's muscular Fire Chief whose touch ignites something deep within me.
He's older, commanding, and carries his station's weight on his broad shoulders.
Yet beneath his stern exterior lies a tender heart that makes mine race whenever he's near. As he offers me shelter in his fire station, the spark between us blazes into an inferno neither of us can control.
But with my life in ashes and his dangerous job constantly putting him at risk, can I trust this burly protector with not just my safety but my body and heart?
And will the man who saved me from the flames be the one to finally show me that true love is worth the burn?
Curvy Girl and the Firefighter Chief is a short, sweet, and steamy small town instalove romance with a happy-ever-after. It can be read as a standalone or together with the rest of the books in the Pine Fire Department
not great, not terrible; it was a freebie, which I love, and a very fast paced and short read not a lot to say, he saved her, instantly fell for her, took care of her while she recovered, and two days later bam, HEA cute firehouse "family"
I'm going to read the next one, because I'm curious about that couple
- age gap - no manhoho, V h - insta lust/love, whatever - HEA, quick epilogue
This was a bullet train ride to the end. They really meant INSTANT love with this one. With instant love came instant found family. While I was reeling at the high speed, I must say all the characters were very endearing and managed to make an impression in such a short amount of time and words. I would love to reread this as a fully fledged book.
Curvy Girl and the Firefighter Chief is Book 1 of the new Pine Valley: Fire Department series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, curvy virgin gets her hunky fire chief romance. Stella is a 22 year old curvy book illustrator who has just moved to town. Luke is a burly, hunky, 41 year old firefighter chief in town. When Stella's house catches on fire, Luke is the one to rescue her, and he knows life will never be the same. He's attracted to the curvy beauty and offers her a room at the fire house when she is discharged. These two had insanely hot chemistry, and the ending was so happy. Luke was such a big old teddy. I loved it and can't wait to read Kane and Sadie's story next.

Luke, the fire chief gets the alarm that there is a house fire involving a possible victim inside; not knowing that his life may change forever. The house is a two-story and there is heavy smoke so they will need to use thermal imaging to find any victims. Luke gets a thermal image of a victim in what appears to be a second - story bedroom where he finds a unconscious young woman. As he carefully descends the stairs, he sees how beautiful she appears to be and how she fits against his chest. Luke checks with the hospital repeatedly since he can't leave the scene of the fire. Since Stella just moved into town 3 weeks ago, Luke offers her the extra bedroom at the station. He doesn't want to let her out of his sight. How does Stella feel about his taking care of her? Luke's daughter, Sadie, who works as their dispatcher, tells Stella that she believes that her father has a thing for Stella and that he deserves happiness. Is she right? What does Luke want? Watch the interaction in the firehouse as all the firefighters are like family.

Curvy Girl and the Firefighter Chief is the first book in the Pine Valley: Fire Department series. This is set in the Pine Valley world and we are not getting to see what happens with all those big and sexy, along with sometimes funny, firefighters. This story find Chief Luke Harrison falling hard for a much younger woman that he rescues from a house fire. Stella Morrison has just moved to Pine Valley. She has been settling into her new home while working on a project, as she is an illustrator who works from home. When she smells smoke and discovers there is a fire in the house she does the right thing when her exit down the stairs is blocked. Once Luke has an unconscious Stella in his arms he is reluctant to let her go, as something just calls to him. This protective man is about to end up a big marshmallow for the young Stella, even as he tries to rationalize all the reasons he cannot be with her. This book is short, fun, sweet, has some drama, and a lot of fire-licking smexy passion. An entertaining read.
This was a sweet book, a short one but a lovely one with a really nice group of men that serve as the fire department for their town. This couple was a older man and a younger woman, something I don't prefer to read but was done so well and was streamy and yet so sweet. This bunch was like a family and made the book even better.
He saved her and was attracted to her, it was too much to have her close yet how could he send her elsewhere? She was sad for the loss of her new home but felt comforted in his arms and around his daughter and friends.
His having a daughter that age was interesting, the young woman was a good person and I appreciated the female solidarity and the genuine concern she and his coworkers expressed for this new member of their family. I wish this were a tad longer but how sweet was everyone together? A great dynamic and a steamy read.

He explains no and then surprises even himself when he insists she come stay in the spare room at his house. His daughter Hailey who is 19 takes to her and they become quick friends. As they get to know each other, his walls are dropping and she is falling in love . This adorable love story has spice, love and fire. Can’t wait for book 2.
Super-Hiper-Ultra-Mega-Power recomendado!
Luke, the fire chief, gets a 911 call that's about to set his love life ablaze. A house is burning down, and there might be someone inside - little does he know, his heart is about to get a major spark. The house is a smoke-filled disaster, Luke finds a gorgeous young woman unconscious on the 2nd story floor. As he's carrying her down the stairs, he can't help but notice how well she fits against his chest - and his heart does the cha cha slide. Luke becomes a little too attached, staying at the hospital til she wakes up and offering Stella, the mysterious woman, a room at the fire station. His daughter, Sadie, thinks Dad's got a major crush and deserves to be happy. Both of'em find an everlasting fire and get their HEA!
This is the first book in this new Pine Valley series abs I love the characters. In addition to the MCs, we meet the crew of firefighters who (I believe) will be the subjects of the series abd they're hilarious! The premise abd plot of this book is intriguing and the MCs were both realistic abd relatable. the use if his daughter as an uninvited wing woman was.rather ingenious, instead of her pushing the opposide direction. I will definateky enjoy reading the rest of this series to discover more about this tight-knit crew
I received a gift copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review Happy Reading Y'all 📚

This is the first book in the Pine Valley Fire Dept series. It is an enjoyable short age gap romance with one spicy scene. This can be enjoyed as a lunch time read. Luke is the fire chief of Pine Valley Fire Department. He is a workaholic, and a single father with a grown daughter. When he is called to a single home fire he doesn’t realize how his life is going to change. Stella is a children’s book illustrator. She has just recently move to Pune Valley, when tragedy stricks. Her home catches on fire and she falls unconscious when she is rescued by a big hot older fire chief. These two have instant attraction that can’t be ignored. Good start to a new series.
I think my heart just stopped beating for a brief moment when I saw this cover. OMG Stella and Luke are going to catch your heart on FIRE with their HOT romance. This might be a short story, but it doesn't lack any heat or romance, and I suggest you read it at home. I was reading it at work and my co-workers asked why my cheeks were red. :) I told them I was reading a HOT and SEXY book about Luke who is a firefighter. So, grab this book and a cold glass of ice water you will need it to cool down with.
IDK I just think I’ll never understand insta-love. I will never believe that saying “I love you” 24 hours after you meet isn’t weird. And everyone AROUND them seems to think it’s perfectly normal too.
Also, you managed to figure out she was a virgin but not have a conversation about contraception or protection? After knowing a person a single day they’re totally ok with the risk?
Was it short and sweet and cute? Sure. And TBH, if the author had drawn out their courtship a little longer and made this into a full length novel, I probably would have liked it better.
Luke is the fire chief, he and his team go to a fire and he rescues Stella. He feels something for her immediately. He's very protective, especially when he finds she has no near relatives or friends. Stella ends up staying at the fire station, she's nowhere else to go. She's very attracted to Luke but is concerned that he doesn't have feelings for her.

Fire chief Luke and his crew are sent to put out a fire where the victim Stella, was rescued but now having nowhere to live. There is an immediate attraction, and their close proximity set their hearts on fire. The chemistry between them was so hot that it could burn through the pages of this book. It was a delightfully charming read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This book is more of a insta love type situation. It's a very quick read and cute but I don't think instalove like this is my thing. I loved how he was completely devoted to her I just feel like the book could have been so much more! It could have been an adventure not just the hookup one night and then the book skips to them being married. I was low key looking foreard to a chapter about the ball and Kane 😊 but it is a good quick read!
What a sweet story. With a nice steamy scene a cherry on top (pardon the pun).
Now I wonder if I ought to start a GR bookshelf to categorize all the romances I read w/first responders or military folks as characters. And then the question will arise of whether or not I ought to include sheriffs in there.
Never mind. I'll just leave this as a general "romances-read" entry for now. :D Next up ... more Pine Valley loves!
Luke and Stella: just a quick read about an insta romance or rather lust. It's an age gap trope but there's no mention of the actual age difference however Luke does have a daughter the same age as Stella of that helps. 🤷🏾♀️. No dilemma, no drama other than the beginning fire because hello they're firefighters. Small Town isn't even a character within the book. Everything happened within the fire station and then it was over.
The more I read the further the rating fell. The fire chief drinking a beer at diner, in the firehouse while on shift, are you freaking for real right now. The daughter of the MMC coming into the room the FMC is staying in for girl talk while she is still naked in bed from just finishing banging old girls Dad, ewwww. Finally the daughter and the FMC are the same age and are going to be besties, I just can’t, this book was just to freaking ridiculous.
The chemistry between Stella and Luke is undeniable. Luke is older, but who gives a damn. The way Luke is tip-toeing around Stella at first, and she has to be the bold one, I loved it. I would love a story on Sadie and Kane. Short and sweet.

The author has given us a fast-paced older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Luke, Stella and his daughter, Sadie. The story keeps us turning the pages with instant connection, insecurities and steam.

This was a fun quick read. I did like the instalove with this story but I will say that the chief at times, didn't seem like a mature adult. Most of the time, he was the take charge type of guy but at times I couldn't help feeling like he was a teenage boy with a crush.
I did like the sense of community they had within the firehouse.
I’m a sucker for firefighters!!! I absolutely loved this story. I love all the characters and I love the storyline so much. Stella’s house catches fire and Luke saves her. The love between them is beautiful and now she not only has the love of her life but also family in the firefighter’s and their families. Love is wonderful!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊

This is a short, good, well written, instalove romance. Stella is a children’s book illustrator and just moved to Pine Valley. Luke is the Pine Valley Fire Chief and rescues Stella from her burning house. Read how they fall in love.
This was a great read. This was an older guy and an instant love. Luke saves Stella from a burning house and the rest is history. This one will touch you in all the right ways
Luke the Pine Valley Fire Chief is on a call, a 2 story home on fire and someone inside. As Luke walks through the fire he finds Stella. When Stella opens her eyes and looks at Luke, they are both burned in flames of desire. WOW
