It’s the classic story—boy goes off into the world to fulfill his dreams and leaves the girl behind.
Not every boy returns home, and I wish Ben Noughton wouldn’t have come back to our small ranching town at all after he retired from playing professional football.
I figure it’s a quick layover for him. He always wanted out of this town and off his family’s ranch. I just have to bide my time until he turns his back on all of us again.
Then he takes on the coaching position for the high school football team and starts milling around too much, bulldozing the protective walls I’ve built around myself. But he goes too far when he takes my son under his wing to help him be the best player he can be. Leaving me to protect not only my own heart but my son’s too.
Because I promised myself a long time ago that I’d never be the girl in the rearview mirror again.
Piper Rayne is a USA Today Bestselling author duo. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" (okay...you caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.
a second chance with the most unsatisfying reconciliation that happened way too quickly and not enough groveling or expanding on the mmc and fmc’s past and getting more insight into the reasons that led to their split—it was just briefly touched on and then bam, 14 years later and now they are getting back after a few interactions that were BS (imo) and I was completely disinterested in the couple and their story once that happened at the 50% mark. it felt cookie cutter perfect between them with a stupid lil 3rd act semi break-up, but not really an actual 3rd act break-up at like 85% and I was just skimming to be done with it by that point.
didn’t care for ben and gillian and their love at all. 👎🏼 in conclusion, this story fell flat for a second chance romance.
Ummmmm...... So you're telling me that childhood sweethearts, who were together for years and then broke up for over 10 years, would take 2 days to get back together and everything is forgiven? Bullshit
The One I Left Behind is a very sweet second chance romance read. I read the prequel before getting into this which gave a bit more context about their relationship, but it's interesting that we didn't get to see the actual breakup neither here nor there.
The whole book is relatively low angst, even though you can tell Gillian is still so hurt all these years later. She doesn't immediately trust Ben when he comes back, but he keeps trying to regain her trust and my issue with this is that she let him in again wayyyy too fast.
I needed to see them talk it out for longer, some grovelling on his part, and I didn't really get that. I honestly wasn't Ben's biggest fan for the majority of the story, I didn't think he deserved Gillian after what he put her through. By the end I can't say my opinion of him skyrocketed, but I could be convinced that they could work out this time.
The pacing was a bit slower at the start, so I put the book down for a few days, then picked it back up and finished it in one go when it got faster. I liked that it was dual PoV so we could see both sides of the story. I also liked getting to know both of their friends & family.
My absolute favourite character is Clayton, he both read like a teen, and like someone who was a bit more mature for his age (like when he gave his mother advice which she later used), but he would be, being raised by a single mother, so it worked out well. The funniest lines in the book were all his. I'd love to read his story too when he grows up.
I'm curious to see if my opinion of Ben would change for the better if I read the books he was previously featured in. He must've been cool there, to warrant a book of his own. I went and added them to my tbr, so it's only a matter of time.
The ending was wrapped up nicely, but I would've wanted to see some things get resolved on page. And generally, I think this book would've benefitted from being at least 80-100 pages longer, because the writing style would still make it a fast read, but the story, romance, characters and world would be more developed.
*Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
The One I Left Behind is such a sweet and heartwarming novel. I really loved it from start to finish.
The book starts with Ben coming home. He just retired as a successful football player. And for the time being he is going home. Also at his father's persistence. And because he really, really wants to see his old girlfriend Gillian again.
His brothers and father pick him up from the airport and I instantly loved their banter. His dad arranged a whole parade for him. And I felt his shame rolling through my own body. Haha I grinned like an idiot. And as he is waving he spots Gillian and for a few seconds they have eye contact until she disappears.
Gillian has a son Clayton. The entire town thinks it is Ben's son. But he is not. She kept it a secret from everyone. Her friend Laurel advises her to stay away from Ben. Because she will only cause herself pain.
But the entire town thinks they are meant to be together. And I just love how the entire town bands together to get them in the same room again. The camaraderie and joy of the town was really the heart of the book.
I love how free-spirited Ben's father and family is. I love the situations Ben and Gillian find themselves in. And I adore how sure Ben is of his love for Gillian and lets her know straightaway the biggest reason he came home was her.
And I only wished that Ben and Clayton bonded a bit more on page instead of off page.
All in all a fantastic book! 5 stars from me for this small town romance!
This was a solid 3.5 stars for me! It was a very easy and fast read. There is just something about the second chance situation that gets me every time. That and brother's BF or little sister's BF. The challenges I had with this one was I felt like there could have been more character development. Everything was very fast paced. It seemed that Gillian was mad and neither of them were thinking anything would happen and then a few chapters later they were making declarations of love. Don't get me wrong- when you know you know. I guess I just wanted a LITTLE more development. What I did like was their connection. I liked the mini flashbacks we got from when they were younger. I liked how much Clay was involved in the story and in Gillian's life. I liked how Ben made it his mission for Clay to like him and come around and that he recognized how important he was. I liked the touch her and die vibes. I also liked the banter between the brothers and the outlying characters.
Ben is on the other side of retirement and he still has the rest of his life to figure out what he wants to do. First thing on the agenda is going home to check in with his family. Get his head straight. It is definitely not to see her...Gillian....the one he left get away...the one he walked away from and decided to forget...but who is he kidding...he has never forgotten her. Even if he acts like he has. And then he sees her and the connection he feels is still there. He decides he owes her an explanation or at least a convo to break the ice. But she doesn't want to hear it. Until she says yes to breakfast on the outskirts of town and somehow or other Ben is now going to be the high school football coach. He is now picturing a future here, and he wants nothing more than to have Gillian by his side. Is he too let? Will she open up to him?
Gillian has never told anyone the name of her son's father. Even though everyone suspects it's Ben. It's not. She has kept that part of her life closed off to her son Clayton, but now that Ben is back she can't hide from him anymore. She also can't deny the feelings that never seemed to go away. She can't deny that she still feels a pull towards him. There are some hurdles in the way- the number one being how long is he going to be here? Is it worth being hurt if it is only for a short time? Will Clayton ever learn to accept him?
Like I said super-fast short read and great intro to a small town! I have requested an ARC for book 2 and can't wait to see what happens with Jude and Sadie. I haven't read a lot of friends to lovers books!
Thank you to Valentine PR and Piper for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
Welcome to Plain Daisy Ranch! I can tell I'm going to like it here.
I'm always game for another Small Town Romance and this one was a sweet Second Chance as well.
The One I Left Behind includes: -A Single Mom (Not his kid) -Retired NFL Star -Small Town meddling matchmakers -Moody Teenager -Swoony Second Chance
Ben is back in his small town after a successful NFL career. Everyone in that small town is very happy to have him back except for one.. Gillian Adams. The girl he left behind.
After reading the prequel, One Last Summer, and seeing how close these two were, popping back into their lives after 14 years was a hard pill to swallow but when the truth all comes out about her son, Clayton.. We can start to get back on track. I was nervous about whether I could be won over. Second Chance is a tough go for me but this book eased my fears and introduced me to a beautiful little town.
Ben was really a good guy and the break up they went through really just seemed like growing pains. Now he's back and struggling to see if he can still fit in here in town. If he can't win over Gillian, it might be hopeless. And even tougher than her... her teenage son.
This was a quick listen with CJ Bloom and Robert Hatchet brought it to life. They made me fall for this couple a second time and Plain Daisy Ranch as well. I'm looking forward to more!
4.5 stars 2.5 on the spice scale

“It might not be Kansas, but as Dorothy said, there’s no place like home.“
Small town romance lovers rejoice! THE ONE I LEFT BEHIND is a gender bent Sweet Home Alabama with extra pizazz sprinkled within. This is the start of a new series, Plain Daisy Ranch, and my first book by this author duo. I can confidently say, this will not be my last!
❥ 𝓉𝒽ℯ 𝓅𝓁ℴ𝓉 The One I Left Behind follows Ben Noughton, fresh off of retirement from his professional football playing days as he returns to his hometown in hopes of figuring out his next step in life. He won’t deny his desire to reunite with the woman who still owns his heart after all these years since high school, so he could chase his dreams.
Gillian is a single mother preparing to take the bar exam to jump start her career in law with the hopes of getting out of small town life in Willowbrook. When she hears of Ben’s infamous return home, she vows to steer clear of him without being dragged through more heartache of their shared history. After an event forces them to work together, will she be strong enough to resist the pull of a possible second chance with her first love?
❥ 𝓂𝓎 𝓉𝒽ℴ𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉𝓈 I absolutely loved this story! Watching Ben & Gillian’s paths continually cross with fate intervening constantly, really served up the tension and apparent chemistry these two still shared when near each other. This also had SO MUCH humor I was laughing out loud on multiple occasions!! That’s not even an exaggeration. I cackled so many times and ate this baby uppp.
One thing I love about small town romances is how the characters come together in times of need. This proved true within this story during a few scenes and it made my heart soar! Not only that but the friend group & family conspiring to bring them back together in various ways had me giggling and kicking my little feet 🤭🥰
I highly recommend this, especially you want these vibes—
✨small town ✨second chance ✨single mom x ex pro footballer ✨a hero that’s down bad {TTPD} ✨lots of laughs ✨banter ✨found family
Read it and thank me later ༞
***thank you to Piper Rayne & Valentine PR for an advanced readers copy of this gem🫶🏼
I really loved this story when I read it but listening to it was next level and if any of you get the chance to do either/or or even both, do not pass up an opportunity to listen to this story! #trust
Robert Hatchet has never been a go-to narrator for me because, reasons (lol) but he nailed his part and then some! Of course, CJ Bloom was a delight so I had an extraordinarily good time in my ears for about 6 hours! There were so many little details that I hadn't picked up on when I read and it just made this entire experience really good for me! I was already looking forward to more from this series and now I am even more excited!
📖 ARC review May 12, 2024📖
First of all, because I can be ridiculous about covers, I need to say that this is the purest representation of this story and I am here for it!! Please never change it!
Okay then, on to this story …
I’ve read/listened to a whole lot of stories written by this dynamic duo and they haven’t always been a huge hit for me but this story captured me heart mind and soul from the very beginning and I may still be swooning over the entire package right now days after finishing! There is a lot to enjoy about this story and practically nothing to pick about. I love those kind of reading experiences because I’m never thrown off from the story. I believed in Ben & Gillian from the start and as they grew throughout the story, I belief in them grew stronger. Their chemistry was undeniable and as a reader I could feel their connection from the start. I loved that Ben’s return to his hometown was not based on any kind of injury or tragedy with his career. I loved that the past was acknowledged but not dragged into the present, it was of course a circumstance they both needed to push past but it was done in a realistic and relatable way and not in an overly dramatic way. It was dealt with, and they grew. Adults adulting properly is my super jam! LOL
This isn’t the first book about high school sweethearts who thought they’d be together forever but then one makes a decision, and their lives are altered, but somehow, this author duo made it unique in their own right. It’s their style and voice. I long ago fell in love with their writing and have tried to devour every word they’ve ever written (over and over again in some cases) and I will continue to do so as long as they gift us with stories because there is always emotion, humor, heart and a whole lot of hope infused in their stories and it is a pleasure to get lost in their characters for a handful of hours at a time!
This book made me both hate the MMC and love him within 100 pages. I found myself loving the FMC right from page one and all the way through. She was so strong, smart, sassy, and an amazing single mom. I really enjoyed how she made the MMC work super hard for it (since he deserved it 🤣).
The small town in this one is absolutely perfect and I found myself really enjoying all of the side characters.
The spice in this one too ... 🔥
You get: • Dual POV • Spicy • Contemporary Romance • Small Town • Second Chance • Found Family • It's Always Been You
I can't wait to get into the next one! Available on ebook, hardcover, paperback, and audiobook.
Ok I’m going to be honest and it’s def a me thing. This was a well written story that was ‘ohhhhhh’ cutesy. The me thing, I think I’ve realised that in second chance romances that during a long separation (14 years) and the H goes and sows his wild oats, lives his dream blah blah, then returns to his poh dunk town to the woman he’s always loved… always loved, but it took you 14 years to return, but he does admit that lately (upon his return) she’s been crossing his mind a bit more. It just makes me think mate, you had 14 years and now your retired you realise she’s the love of your life I just find it hard to believe Anyhow it was a decent read, if you like cutsey second chances this is for you!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I like this author writing style very engaging and easy to easy…but I am NOT a fan of this book 🫠 in short there’s nothing romantic about a pathetic heroine pining away for 14 years over an ex who went to play pro ball and then takes him back shortly after he gets back because he RETIRED…. What the actual fudge…why…does she have to made out to be some desperate loser where the only “good” thing she did was raise her son (not the hero’s) …yet readers like this 🤷♀️ it should have been called the booked I never read.
To be fair…the hero was a tosser…pine away for someone who isn’t a complete douche bag.

this was a super cute, fun, and quick read! i am a sucker for a second chance romance. AND then make it a single parent on top of it? sign me up !
gillian and ben were high school sweethearts and tried to do long distance, but things didn’t end up working out despite everyone saying that they were perfect for each other. the book starts with ben returning back home to their small town and wanting to have a clean slate with gillian. gillian, however, is not having it and just wants to ignore ben to protect her heart and her sons. ben finds ways to get closer to gillian and everything picks up from there.
ben and gillian are such a cute couple! i really enjoyed their love story and i can’t wait to read other books in this series.
A new series from Piper Rayne of a small town, second chance, single mom. This was definitely one of my favorite small town book reads this year. We get an introduction of Plain Daisy Ranch and the Noughton family.
Ben returns to home to Plain Daisy Ranch after retiring from professional football. He’s planning to leave but everyone thinks he’s home for good.
Gillian is a single mom who is planning to leave her hometown once she passes her bar exam to be a lawyer in another town. She has history with Ben and when he returns feelings she laid to rest resurface. Ben was the one that got away and her first love.
Ben lands himself a temporary job as high school football coach and with Gillian’s teenage son on the team. Her son is talented and shows promising future in football. Her son isn’t the biggest fan of Ben.
The pull Ben has towards Gillian has her wanting him as much as he wants her.
I was so captivated by their story I devoured this book. My emotions were a wreck and too many a minute to recover. Loved the characters and especially the meddling town folks and family.
Highly recommend book. While this book is part of a series to come it can be read as a standalone. Can’t wait for next book in the series.
I really wasn't the biggest fan of this one. I thought everything was way too rushed. I wanted more time with the characters falling back in love. All we got was them being instantly in love. It just wasn't very believable. I thought the characters were okay. They weren't anything special to me. Overall, this just wasn't the book for me.
I enjoyed Ben and Gillian's story. It was a good second-chance, single-mother, small-town romance. I'm glad I read the prequel, which gave me more context on what was happening.
I liked these two together. It was really easy to see why they belonged together. I also enjoyed that Ben didn't hold anything against Gillian for Clayton. He felt more guilt over everything than anything.
I really enjoyed the cousins and all the secondary characters. They made the book and made me laugh a lot.
I will say that I wanted more at the end with these two—more of where they are in the future—and we didn't really get that, even in the bonus content. Don't get me wrong—I enjoyed it; I just wanted more. Maybe that's because we will see in future books; I'm not sure.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is the first book in a new series, and I have to say it definitely made me excited for more! Ben and Gillian were high school sweethearts and madly in love until he moved away for a career in the NFL. It’s a small town, second chance, single parent romance with swoony charm and some sizzling heat. Gillian was exactly the kind of heroine I enjoy, she was strong with a side of sass and was the best, most supportive mother to her teenaged son, Clayton. Their bond was adorable and the way Clayton didn’t immediately warm to Ben felt really authentic and true to teenaged behavior. There was a great balance between angst and hurt from the couples past and fun and witty banter as they realized they still couldn’t resist each other. This was breezy and light, a really fast escapist read and I’m already looking forward to being in Plain Daisy Ranch again.
Nice small town romance book with competent writing and low angst characters. Not bad. Just a bit flat.
My biggest quibble was that the plot development lacked some realism to it. I know it's fiction and I am supposed to suspend disbelief. But I need some help for that to happen. The H has been living his best life for 14 years (with no contact with h) and immediately when he is back in town he decides to woo her back with a《 I could never forget you, you are the love of my life 》? Really? 14 years of no contact and suddenly all feelings have supposedly never left? As if these 14 years were just a short interlude when everything remained in beautiful stasis, just waiting for the fateful day they would reconnect to their HEA. Maybe if I had read some of his regrets while he was living out his dreams I could have swallowed it down with some water, but as is it felt like the guy had his cake and ate it too, moreso with the h quasi-cheerleading him home and giving him an easy second chance.
Tiny pet peeve, the maths of the timeline bothered me. It was said he left town for college 14 years ago - a very specific figure, not 15, 16 or 13, but 14. Yet, the h's son who was conceived after their long distance break up, is also said to be 14. Not mathing at all.
In summary, fans of authors like Laura Pavlov and C. Lymari and lightish plot romances will like it, but for me, while I do see the decent writing style, I needed more fleshed out plot to enjoy it.

Book Tropes: -Small town romance -High school sweethearts -Second chance -Single mom -Retired NFL Star
So happy to have received this as an ARC copy, this is my first Piper Rayne book, and must I say I loved that it's a small town romance. I am such a sucker for that trope.
Ben a retired NFL star moves back home to his small town, and can't wait to see Gillian again, but is looking forward to leaving once again. Just one small issue Gillian does not want to see him and she has a son... but it's not his. After not seeing each other for 14 years, it's a rough battle to get back the one he loves and win over her son Clayton.
After becoming the high school football coach, Ben gets to meet Clayton who isn't a big fan of his. Gillian slows starts to fall for Ben all over again. While Clayton tries to protect from getting her heart broken again, because after all it is his mom and Ben broke her heart.
I loved these two, seeing them get to rekindle what they once had for one another and becoming the dream team again even after all this time apart. I'm glad they got their second chance at happiness with each other and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
Fav Quote/s: “It’s game over for us. There’s no turning back now. I’m on the road to happily ever after—or heartbreak." "You want the truth? Here it is. I never fell out of love with you."
“The One I Left Behind” serves as an enthralling introduction to the “Plain Daisy Ranch” series. The setting and characters distinctly set it apart from the duo’s previous books. Yet, the enchanting spell they cast remains consistent—the magic that this duo weaves into the worlds they create. The family dynamics and love permeate the pages, enfolding readers in a literary embrace
If you’re a fan of small towns, second-chance romances with a sassy single mom, and a groveling, swoony hero, look no further. Ben Noughton is ready to sweep you off your feet.
Gillian was the epitome of strength, selflessness, and determination. She stepped in to help with her siblings at a young age, became a single mom early on, and never wavered in taking care of those around her while striving to finish college. She spent years in a town full of bittersweet memories of the one who had left her behind to pursue his NFL dream. Now he’s back, and if he’s expecting her to fall back into the way things used to be, he’s in for a surprise. The only man she needs in her life and in her heart is her son.
Ben returned to his hometown after retiring from professional football, and the moment he arrived, he was reminded that it wasn’t only the girl he left behind. He was swimming in a pool of guilt for several reasons, but the one that gutted him the most was the look of indifference on the face of the woman who once looked at him as though he hung the moon.
Not only did he have to grovel to try to get on Gillian’s good side, but there was also a teenage boy who was protective of his mama’s heart. He had heard about the football star who broke his mom’s heart, and every time he glared at Ben, he made sure Ben knew where he stood. I loved Clayton. He was the typical teenager, always on the go—the age where time with your friends comes before all else. But when it came down to it, he loved his mama fiercely. I have a child the same age who has many of the same qualities, so I felt an instant connection with Clayton—a smart mouth with a heart of gold.
The chemistry between Ben and Gillian was palpable even before they were in the same room. You could feel the heartache, regret, and longing whenever their thoughts drifted to one another. I loved the pull between them that only seemed to fuel the burning passion they shared.
After reading the prequel, my emotions were already invested in Ben and Gillian’s second chance. I wasn’t prepared for the emotional roller coaster ride they would take me on. The animosity between them felt suffocating; my heart ached for the hurt they were suffering, all while the love they had for one another never wavered. Of course, there were also moments that made me giggle and snort. After all, it is a Piper Rayne novel, and the banter alone will always bring laughter. They always seem to balance the hurt and laughter as though it’s an emotional tightrope. They construct the perfect blend of every emotion while still keeping it overall in the romantic comedy sub-genre. I swear, they’re wizards.
“The One I Left Behind” isn’t a book you just read; it’s an all-consuming book that redefines second chances.. I devoured every word as if it were the only way to survive. Ben and Gillian’s second chance is one that was earned—a spellbinding blend of small-town gossip, meddling family, teeming with clever banter, feels, and spice. Piper Rayne has once again proven that love, like their storytelling, only gets better with time.
I’m slowly but surely making my way through Piper Rayne’s backlist and with every book I can’t help but fall in love even more.
What to expect: 💜 Small Town 💜 Second Chance 💜 Single Mom 💜 Found Family/Loveable Family 💜 Sports Romance 💜 Angst 💜 Ex Pro Footballer 💜 A Hero That’s Down Bad (TTPD) 💜 Laugh Out Loud Moments 💜 Top Tier Banter 💜 Swoon-Worthy 💜 Meddling Matchmakers 💜 First Love 💜 Close Proximity 💜 High School Sweethearts 💜 He’s Her Son’s Coach 💜 Moody Teenager 💜 First Person/Dual POV
This book starts with Ben, following his dad's wishes and wanting to figure out the next steps in his life, he’s decided to come home after retiring from being a pro football player. He is also hopeful that he can reconnect with his high school sweetheart, Gillian. She’s the one that got away. She still owns his heart even after all these years.
Gillian is a single mom to a teenage boy called Clayton. Everyone in the small town thinks he is Ben’s son, however, that is not the case. She’s kept who the father is a secret from everyone. Gillian is aware that Ben is returning home, the entire town knows. It’s all they have talked about since hearing he was retiring. However, knowing he was coming back still did not prepare her at all for how she would feel seeing him. It becomes clear that the pain in her heart is still very much there… And even though she’s denying it, there is still love in her heart for him so she’s going to avoid him until either he leaves again or she does. She is currently studying hard preparing to take the bar exam so she can start her career in law hoping that it will get her out of Willowbrook, she is determined to leave town with her son.
Even though she wanted to avoid him, an event forces them to get together and spend time together. Is she strong enough to fight the undeniable affection between her and Ben or will they give their love a second chance?
I loved Gillian and Ben so much! Top-tier banter and their chemistry is so raw and pure. I loved how Gillian didn’t let how she felt about a man change her path and what she wanted to do in her life and he wasn’t expecting her to change either.
Gillian is such an incredible mother to Clayton too. She always put him first no matter what. Clayton also made Ben work for a relationship. He knows he broke his mom’s heart before and he will not let that happen again.
Even the town knew they were meant to be and they came together to get them in the same room again. Everyone was rooting for these two. These people weren’t just from the same small town, they were all like family and all came together in times of need. It was wonderful to read and is a prime example of why I love the small-town romance trope.
All in all, this was such a sweet read and I enjoyed getting to know every one of these characters. I’m so excited to see where this series takes us!
What to Expect: - Ranch Setting - Small Town - Second Chance Romance - Highschool Sweethearts - Return to Hometown - Retired Football Player MMC - Single Mom - Band of Brothers - Opinionated Big Family - Witty Banter
The One I Left Behind is my first read by Piper Rayne, and it did not disappoint. This was one of the best second-chance romance stories I've read.
Ben and Gillian were high school sweethearts. Leaving Gillian behind, Ben left their small town to pursue his collegiate and professional football career. Now retired, Ben has returned to their hometown. When he sees Gillian, he realizes he still has strong feelings for her. Gillian, now a single mother, would rather avoid Ben. Ben is determined to apologize and give their love a second chance.
I loved Ben and Gillian's story. It is well-written, the plot is engaging, and the characters are well-developed. Ben and Gillian's chemistry is palpable, and I loved the banter. They are perfect together, and I was deeply invested in their relationship. I loved the progression of their relationship and the growth both characters experienced throughout the story. The relationship between Gillian and her teenage son Clayton was very realistic. Teenagers are tough sometimes. I also loved Ben's relationship with Clayton and how Ben was very careful about their interactions.
The One I Left Behind is a beautiful love story with the right amount of humor and heat. I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read what's next in the Plain Daisy Ranch series.
NARRATION: Robert Hatchet and CJ Bloom did a wonderful job with this story. Their performance was engaging and expertly portrayed the characters' personalities. I could feel the chemistry between Ben and Gillian.
Thanks to Piper Rayne and Valentine PR for the gifted eARC and ALC. Opinions expressed are my own.
