I'm sorry but this book is in need a re-write. Not in terms of proofing but more of character actions. What turned me off was the scene of Ana breaking down and crying at her mother's grave. While yes she experienced loss I don't understand her intense, emotional scene. It is very out of character for her. We get a strong, firey personality for the first few chapters then just a 180 to her emotional meltdown. Doesn't make any sense.
Her mom died when she was 2 as a 2 year old and she's what like in her twenties now. She has very little memory of her mother. Now that doesn't take away from loss but using the moms death to show Ana's breaking point doesn't line up. Also a few scenes later it's mentioned she's lived with Dimitri for months? When was the author going to communicate that time jump. What was the lead up to Ana's breakdown? I can guess the author wanted us to understand her emotional isolation for months living with a cold, unfeeling man. Layered with her father's abandonment of her after she sacrificed herself for him by marrying the enemy. I could understand that her emotional snap would be building and the anniversary of her mom's death could push her over the edge.
However NONE of that was communicated well if at all. I'm literally guessing. It's like we wanted to get to a spicy scene so we made Ana build up quick so she would cry and lean on Dimitri for support thus starting what...pity sex?
»You've become... valuable to me.« »I believe the feeling is mutual.«

❥ 𝑨𝒏𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒂 𝜗𝜚˚⋆ She was okay. Although she told us A LOT that she is Anastasiq Petrov and will not cower easily….
❥ 𝑫𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒓𝒊 ࣪⋆✮ He was not what I expected. His character felt flat and I didn’t build a connection with him.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 This was a basic story with an okay plot and okay characters. Sadly this book overall is just okay. I read a story like that about one hundred times - it’s the basic mafia arranged marriage romance. The writing style felt flat sometimes and there were no emotions. It was difficult to connect to the story cause everything happened rather stoic. Ana and Dmitri developed feelings without me noticing it. It felt kinda rushed and I didn‘t get the moment they fell in love. Although I enjoyed the fact that Anastasia didn‘t cower before Dmitri and that she is an independent woman. Overall this book was okay but I expected way more. It is a fact that there are a lot of books in the mafia genres with this kind of tropes and compared to them this book was weak.
This book wasn’t terrible… but it also had nothing that made it stand out. It felt like just another recycled arranged marriage mafia romance we’ve already read dozens of times, with the same overused dynamics and predictable storyline.
The biggest issue was the writing itself. The style felt flat and emotionally empty, which made it hard to connect with the characters or care about what they were going through. Anna and Dmitri’s relationship developed so superficially that suddenly they were “in love” without any real buildup or meaningful moments that made it believable.
Everything happened too fast and in such a monotonous way that even the scenes meant to feel emotional or impactful left no impression. The book isn’t awful, but it’s the kind of story you forget immediately after finishing because it offers nothing new or memorable.
A wonderfully written story with drama, suspense, intrigue, action and steamy romance all leading to the happily ever after ending. This story has great character as well as being a great page turner. A story about a forced marriage between a Bratva Pakhan and the daughter of a rival Bratva Pakhan. The Bratva Pakhan only thinks about business and at the time the two are married he only thinks of the woman as a pawn in a game he’s trying to win. Soon though the Bratva Pakhan will think of the woman in a different light as well as the woman thinking about him differently as well. Throughout the beginning the couple push each other and they can’t stand one another. The only thing on the Bratva Pakhan’s mind is Bratva business and how he can pay back the men who wronged him and how he can make the woman and her father suffer. As time goes by the Bratva Pakhan starts to get feelings for the woman that he forced to marry him even though he makes himself push the feelings down but during this time they have sex and his feelings show through a bit. After they have sex it doesn’t take long before the woman starts having feelings for the Bratva Pakhan. During this time they both tend to business as usual. The couple also has family that comes back into their lives. The woman is kidnapped but the Bratva Pakhan gets her back. When the Bratva Pakhan get the woman back he informs her about falling in love with her and it doesn’t take any time for her to fall in love with him. During this whole time the woman’s father wouldn’t speak to her but he winds up having her come to him. It doesn’t take long before the woman’s father to make threats. It doesn’t take long before the woman’s brother finds her and at the end she’s reunited with the Bratva Pakhan and things around them change. The couple is ready to have a family together. The couple is happy and in love.

A first from the author. 'Though I've read a lot of Mafia romances already and enemies to lovers trope, I'd still say this author is a diamond in the rough.
Style of writing is good, easy flowing and so engaging. A lot of themes are present. Although when changing chapters, it always feels like I've missed something from the previous chapter. I kind of having a continuity issue reading this book. Nevertheless, it's engaging enough that I'm letting this pass.
I like both main characters and even the supporting ones. I dig this heroine, well mostly in the beginning. Except when she's trying to be funny and a smartass, her quips and cracks, almost sounding corny and cringey at times in my head. It's like I'm reading a different author and a different heroine halfway through the book. On the upside, she's with sash and confidence, smart and beautiful, most of all stands for herself. I hate doormat heroines.
Hero, 'though alpha and tough, knows his weaknesses and strengths. He's considerate of the heroine despite his angst and plan for revenge. Most of all, not abusive and an alphahole. Most alpha heroes I read these days especially in dark romances, of which I fail to understand, why some authors deem to call their abusive male main characters as romance heroes.
I just find it weird though, being a Bratva boss with rivals and enemies, well even as a wealthy businessman per se, he doesn't seem to have bodyguards and just living an ordinary life, when there's nothing ordinary in his supposedly dangerous world. He has men yes but not around, and only when beckoned? I noticed some other issues inconsistent with their world. Oh well, I guess I've just read a lot of Mafia stories. To each his own.
Final chapters, with regard to Anna's decision, seems ridiculous and more dangerous for Dimitri than what she's avoiding to happen.
Overall an engaging, lovely read. 'Hope to read more from author's works.
This story is full of lust, revenge and grief all mixed into one.
Our MMC is Dmitri Orlov, Pakhan of the New York City Bratva.
Our FMC is Anastasia Petrov, daughter of the man that betrayed him.
The FMC's father is saved from death by agreeing to offer his daughter’s hand in marriage.
Our MMC seizes the opportunity and revels in the fact that he's stolen the man's only daughter from him.
Despite the MM's cruel nature you can't help but understand the reasons why he is the way he is.
The strength of the FMC was off the charts. While others would pale at the sight of the MMC, she stood up to him and gave him hell. I think that made him respect and admire her even more.
After all the back and forth I was actually giggling when they finally gave into temptation and said "f*ck it"
This is my first ever novel by A Summers and am so happy to say that I loved every second of it. I'm keen to start book 2 in the series.

As always please be safe by checking the trigger warnings.

Mafia King’s Bride is an absolute masterpiece of a mafia romance book which I found to be quite suspenseful and most definitely a page-turning story. Mafia King’s Bride is a dark bratva arranged marriage romance. Mafia King’s Bride follows the journey of Ana and Dmitri who are fantastically well-developed and marvelous executed by Author A.J. Summers. Ana’s new husband, Dmitri, is everything she shouldn’t want a dark soul, wicked smile, and a growl that make her forget her own name. Dmitri is a walking sin in a tailored suit, he’s absolutely determined to make Ana pay for her father’s betrayal. However, I feel that Ana shouldn’t be punished for what her father has done. Ana is an amazing woman who is forced into an arranged marriage with a Russian bratva male. Now this is going to be all the details that I’m going to reveal about Mafia King’s Bride because I don’t want to give out anymore spoilers. I eventually started to like Dmitri. Mafia King’s Bride is definitely a mafia romance book that I would absolutely love to recommend to anyone who is looking for a fantastic mafia romance book to read. I’m looking forward to reading more amazing books by Author A.J. Summers.

I cannot make sense of the plot of characters of this book. The MMC supposedly marries the FMC purely to punish her father, by “taking away the one thing that he cares about.” But it’s not clear how marrying her accomplishes that and he never actually does anything scary or punishing or even particularly mean. He seems baffled when everyone around him assumes that he has made an alliance with his enemy by marrying the guy’s daughter. It’s like his plan to destroy his enemy was Step 1: Marry his daughter, Step 2: ?????, Step 3: Profit. Even when dealing with rivals or other gangsters, he doesn’t come off as intimidating, feared, or even particularly respected. He more comes off as an emotionally constipated man-child. When his new wife rebels against him and does what she wants, he never actually stops her or does anything particularly effective in terms of controlling her. The plot is just ineffective and boring. Do not recommend.
Dmitri Orlov is one of the most powerful Pakhans in NY. He is ruthless, non-emotional, and seemingly heartless. The book opens with Anastasia Petrov being forced to marry Dmitri. Ana is the daughter of another pakhan, although her father has been disgraced and she is forced into the marriage to save his life. The first hundred pages of the book focuses on Ana's anger and hatred of Dmitri and her life with him. It is very negative and difficult to get through. The only saving grace is all the complex planning and dealing that Dmitri engages in to beat his enemies. The last 200 pages are much more interesting, as Dmitri realizes that he loves Ana and both characters become multidimensional. The book is also enhanced by the introduction of Dmitri's half sister and of Ana's half brother. If you can get past the first 100 pages, you will enjoy the book.
Mafia King’s Bride is an entertaining Bratva romance of an arranged marriage between New Yorks most feared crime lord, Dimitri Orlov, and the daughter of the man against whom he seeks revenge. Anastasia will do what she has to do to keep her father safe and if marrying Dimitri achieves that goal, so be it. Their beginnings together are a battle of wills at first but it doesn’t take too long for passion to enter into the equation, and a nicely written story follows with plenty of drama, intrigue, suspense, violence, family dynamics, surprises, and steam. I enjoyed this engaging read of enemies-to-lovers who discover how meant for each other they really are up until Ana is forced to make a decision that changes everything!.

Dimitri Orlov is a Pakhan. Anastasia’s father is a pakhan but he betrayed Dimitri’s father and is responsible for his death. Dimitri asks for Anna to be his wife as retribution for what her father has done. This leads to many lies and deception on her father’s part. He tries to manipulate Ana into leaving Dimitri so he can ruin him and blame it on others. What he did not count on was his son Victor plotting to take over from his father. He helps Dimitri because he knows how much Ana loves him. This a very violent and confusing love story but it is about the Bravta . I really enjoy Dimitri and Ana’s love story.

Another wonderful mafia romance, I am always happy when the author AJ Summers comes with a mafia story. We are taken into the lives of Anastasia and Dimitri. I think they are great together, the chemistry and attraction is clearly felt between them. Their journey contains drama, action, danger, romance and enough steam. The author has written their story in such a way that you could not put your book down and that it kept your attention. If you like mafia stories then this is definitely one that you should read.!

A wonderfully well written mafia romance read delivered by Summers. Dark and dangerous with all the steamy chemistry and drama that make up a great mafia romance. Our main characters are Anastasia and Dimitri. Anna is forced into a marriage with Dimitri to help keep her father safe, only there is more to both of them than either of them initially anticipates. A great romance full of suspense, and drama that will keep you on the edge in the best of ways.

OMG 😱 this was a Fantastic story. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was absolutely incredible. I was on the verge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down. Her father betrayed the mafia boss and now he was payback. So now she will be the one to be sacrificed in this arranged marriage. Was this going to be life now will she be able to run away before she has to marry him. Will she ended up falling in love with him after all of this chaos and drama. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
The best Mafia book I've read yet! AJ Summers is a master at Mafia. I love the balance of suspense, romanace, and drama. I love seeing into the Mafia world and seeing how dangerous it is. Dmitri and Ana are the perfect balance and their attraction is sparjing till it explodes. I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put this book down! My favorite so far, can't wait for the next one!!

When Ana's father gets himself in trouble with another Pahkan he gives her to cover his own butt. Dimitri wants to take down a man who stole from him while he was grieving his father so he takes the one thing the man loves. His daughter. And he wants to use her to take him down. Neither Ana or Dimitri expect to find themselves in love. This book has romance, intrigue and a look into the Mafia. Great characters.

Great story was able read in day. This a suspense, dark romanace, and drama story but it is about the Bravta . It’s dark enough- like a dark gray- with a plot that pulls it all together without leaving you hanging. I really enjoy Dimitri and Ana’s love story. Can’t stop reading from beginning to end. AJ Summers is a great writer at Mafia. Highly recommended. I received this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this story a lot more than the typical arranged marriage. There is a lot of story not only in the relationship but you see things that occurred day to day with each of them. Dimitri is an intense, dirty talking MMC to the fierce, strong willed Anastasia. Good character development and love the brother and sister that are introduced as well. Definitely a great read!
3.75 stars for me. While enjoyable to me, the blurb led me to believe this was an accidental pregnancy romance, but that didn’t happen until the last 10% of the book. Even then, it was like afterthought and not a major plot point. I had a couple of other issues, but the main one was that this really wasn’t what I’d classify as “accidental pregnancy romance” which was why I’d picked this book up….
Boring and forgettable. Felt confused about a lot of the smaller details as things weren’t explained. Ana was supposed to be so kind, as everyone described her but she was rude to most of the characters. And then the more we got to know her, the less I wanted to. Dmitri was rude too, found nothing to like. Gruff only works if he has saving characteristics. Annnnd he shot her dad? Oh no biggie. She ran from him pregnant for 3 weeks? Cool, glad you’re back.

This is the kind of mafia romance book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and entertained from start to finish. I know that when AJ writes a new book, I am going to be intrigued because it will be breathtaking and very hard to be put down. So, if you are looking for a new book that is out of this world FANTASTIC grab this read and let Ana and Dmitri take you on a steamy romance ride.
This alluring story is filled with action-packed drama at every twist and turn that it takes. Dimitri and Ana kept me glued to the story with their family dynamics and everything going on around them. Will their marriage lead them along the path to happiness in spite of it being an arranged one.

Loved this book! Dmitri is a pakhan and wants revenge on the people for his fathers death so he marries Ana, Ana is just a pawn in her fathers barvata plan against dmitri but she never expected to fall for a cold heartened man but who will win in the end?.

Can a sick twisted fairytale be anything else? Mafia lives at their best. Lots of power plays and plenty of angst. There are clearly grumpy characters but they are offset by some cheerful characters that play a part in shaping the tale. Enough action and tension to keep you on the edge of your seat and up late at night. A very good story to read.

I didn’t want it to end. It was difficult to see the conflicts between Ana & her Mafia King throughout their story. But it’s a well written story but comes with the happiest of endings. There’s so much sadness in that world. Some day, some day it will be no more. Thank you Ms Summers for sharing your excellent writing with us.
This is a wonderfully written romance with Dimitri and Ana as great characters. Ana marries Dimitri in order to save her father. The story contains suspense, action, danger and romance.

I very seldom give five stars, four is my normal for most books that I love. However this book was just perfect! I loved both characters and loved the fact that this book actually had a good story not just sex ever other page. I love great hot sex scenes but please give me a well written story with them not just sex and very little story. Read this book! Shirley
