H.S. Strickland is from a small town in South GA called Brunswick. She moved to SC when she was in her early teens and just recently made the move to Florida. She dragged her daughters, husband, and kitty along with her. H.S. has always had a passion for reading, but recently starting writing, although it has always been a dream. Her Nanny always told her to follow her dreams, which is how she got into writing. That and her characters were nagging to have their stories told. If you can't find H.S. behind the keyboard making magic, you will find her chasing her daughters around the house. If not that then curled in her big red comfy chair reading. She loves alpha-males who are almost ass holes, but still have a sweet spot for their woman. She has loved the entire journey to where she is now and couldn't thank y'all enough!
This is the first novel from Author H.S. Strickland and I can honestly say Strickland nailed this story perfectly. From the moment you begin you fall in love with the characters and are thrust into their lives, feeling their every emotion. You kick and scream when they get hurt, you scream in excitement when things go their way and in the end they leave you with pieces of them forever embedded in her heart.
After enduring a challenging childhood and an abusive relationship with her son father, Ray pushes to make a better life for her son Liam, becoming a doctor and devoted mother, not wanting anything to do with a relationship or love. The scars left by her ex make her believe it impossible to fall for a man again. Though she tries to put her past behind her, her old life seems to affect her present and that doesn't change as she meets Mace. Mace is a strong sexy man no stranger to a dark past and breaks down the walls Ray has carefully placed around herself. The couple falls in love quickly and deeply even in the midst of all the drama and turmoil they experience but in the end their love is strong and inspirational.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for an awesome read that will leave you feeling completely beside yourself at the mere thought of saying goodbye to the character. I love it when an author can make me miss the characters. It tells me that Strickland not only did she nail for first novel but she has forever impacted my life.
Thank you Strickland for give us such an amazing inspirational story.
This is the debut novel from Author H.S. Strickland and I can honestly say that she has created a story that is not only believable but will also have you wondering what the next plot twist is.
You begin the story with single mom Ray who is not only juggling her career as a resident doctor, but also raising her 3 year old son Liam. Ray has a troubled past that includes being a survivor of domestic violence and wants nothing to do with men let alone relationships. But what she didn't plan on was one sexy stranger that ends up in her care in the emergency room with a bullet wound. The scars from her past not only makes her resistent to move forward with her life in regard to relationships with males, but the deeply embedded threat of her sons father still terrifies her. So when Mace begins flirting with Ray it is both exciting and terrifying as her trust in males is extremely low.
Personal Investigator/Bounty Hunter combined, Mace is the go to man for the police department, when a current stand off ends with him in the emergency room with a bullet in his leg, Mace had no idea the circumstances would put him in a interesting situation with the sexy doctor who comes to treat his wounds. With an intense pursuit to learn more about Dr. Ray, Mace sets out with determination and oh so alpha male to get the the beauty who is resisting his advances.
The chemistry between the two is undeniable, but the dark past that both covets threatens to rip them apart. This book will put you on a intense ride as the past collides full force into the present and leaves both Ray, Liam and Mace in a life and death situation.
I enjoyed reading this novel. There are some points in which I felt the writing could have flowed much better but overall the story was intriguing. I do look forward to the next book and seeing where Ray and Mace end up. Mace is all alpha male, this is how its going to be and Ray is a feisty one who will not back down and will do whats necessary to protect her heart and her son. You will definitely laugh at the interaction between Ray and Mace just as you will want to yell at them both for being so stubborn, but its the dynamics of their relationship that makes you continue turning the pages. I rate this one at 3.5 stars.
The first review, well H.S., what can I say?!?! I totally fell in love with Mace and Ray from the very beginning. There story is epic and it flows so well. They randomly meet in the hospital due to a shooting and with the demanding Mace the relationship grows from there. They face a few challenges along the way, but in the end loves conquers all. I am not one to give away anything in the details of a book so you HAVE to buy this book and read Ray and Mace's story!!! It is one that will grab you and suck you in. You will want to be their friend and feel all the emotions that they are feeling for sure. I laughed with them and cried with them. I wanted to even cuss H.S. at one point but she told their story every well and I can't wait to read more in this series. Get on it girl!! :)
This is the first time I have read from this author and wont be the last I cant wait to see what she has in store next in this series.
This book had me in tears at some parts but i am not going to give away spoilers.
We meet single mum Araylia (Ray) who is a single mum to three year old Liam.
Ray hasn't had a easy life she has suffered has a terrible childhood though was eventually went to live her loving and doting grandparents with her brothers. Her grandparents were everything that their parents should of been. After everything she has been through she has been through she ends up in a abusive relationship where he would abuse her anyway he could mentally and physically. When he found out that Ray was pregnant he tells her he wants nothing to do with it which leads to Ray to becoming single mum to Liam. Everyone assumes after what she has been through that she will not succeed in life but she amazes everyone when she goes onto become a Dr.
Next we meet the hot ex marine and owner of Jones Security Mason (Mace). Mace has his own demons and is a man that is crippled with grief and self loathing. He closes himself off to the world till one night he's shot.
Mason is taken to the hospital for a gun shoot wound to the thigh which leads him to meeting Ray who is on duty when he is taken in. Sparks soon fly between these two and the chemistry is red hot. Mason takes the plunge and asks Ray out she accepts his invitation and its not long before Ray and Mason are in a relationship that is red hot. But just as Ray is happy and content for what feels like the first time her ex has decided he is now ready to play happy families with Ray and Liam. He is determined to do whatever it takes to get what he sees as his.
Will Ray and Mason's demons get the better of them and let this crazy man destroy what they have or has their relationship got what it takes to survive.
Wow! This book was amazing with so many twist and turns! It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat guessing and anticipating what was going to happen next. Poor Mason has been though hell. First he losses his mom, dad and sister in a robbery gone bad, then he losses his wife and girls in a house fire and he gets shot. He cant catch a break that is until he meets Ray. Ray is such a strong independent woman and single mother to her little boy Liam. She has lost all faith in men because her ex, Liam's father was a horrible man. He beat her, raped her and as if that wasn't enough he tries to steal her happily ever after from her. The love that Mace and Ray share is one of a kind and they prove time and time again that they can over come anything together. This is the first book I have read by Hs and it will not be the last! I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
Great book by HS Strickland! Through all of the ups and down in this story, one must wonder if love, in fact, can conquer all.
This is a very heartfelt and emotional story. It deals with domestic abuse, absentee parents, family bonds and friends that are close enough to be considered family. And let's not forget true love!
I'm looking forward to reading many more books by HS Strickland!
Received a copy for my honest review for Fallen For Books Reviewers At first I have to say, that I couldn’t finish this book, even though I normally fulfill my duties. I really would have liked to finish it to give a completely honest review, but I couldn’t bring myself to do so. The point of breaking the read of for me was at 29% in the book. In the following lines I point out a few things why I decided to break reading this book off, so it may contain spoilers: - At first I found the book really bad edited. In fact it was so bad that I had the impression that I am editor, beta reader and reviewer in one person. That’s just inacceptable for me as a reviewer. - There were a lot of mixed up tenses and grammar mistakes through the part that I have read. - The author uses a lot more telling than showing even tiny details are explained, yet some major things are only mentioned randomly and never come up again. It was just boring to read after a while and I felt as if the author hasn’t really read over what she has written before publishing. - Concerning the plot there were so many things that annoyed me and were just unbelievable for me that I pick up only a few, to make my point. - The first time the characters meet he was shot in the thigh and she is his doc. Instead of rushing to him to take care of his wound, since a wound to the thigh can be really dangerous, the doc drools over him and his friend, because they are so hot. - Gunshot wound again. I understand that the hero works with the police so they knew why he was shot. It doesn’t explain why the hospital doesn’t call the police, though. Every tiny thing is explained, but this one, not. - When they meet again and she has his son with her, he invites her in and offers her a beer which she happily accepts, even though she has to drive herself and her son home later! This is just not responsible! - For their first date he drags her to a college bar. They are both adults and live in a small town, yet the only thing where they can go on a date is a college bar? Not my first choice of a first date. - Also the whole way they go on that first date disturbed me. He drives a Hayabusa which is the fastest produced motorbike and she who has never driven on a bike before just climbs on it and begins to fondle him while driving! Who does that? - And last but not least. The little son of her. Three year old, yet she allows him to drive on said motorbike with a guy she barely knows who magically has a fitting helmet for a three year old? I could go on and on about the unrealistic scenes that take place in this book, but obviously other people really liked this book. I really am sorry that I have to give such a bad review, but this book was just not for me, even though I expected so much better from just reading the blurb. Anyways, I wish the author all the best and hope that she understands that this is not meant personally, but only shows my impression from this book.

The Lucky Bullet is the debut novel in the Intertwined Seduction series, by H.S. Strickland. It tells us the story of Araylia and Mace who have both suffered through differing challenges and emotional turmoils throughout their lives. A developing love story between two emotionally scarred souls, and the twists, turns and hidden mysteries which surround them both.
After suffering a difficult upbringing, resulting in Ray eventually lovingly being cared for and brought up by her grandparents. She then suffers through years of an abusive relationship, which ultimately ends in her being left to bring up their son alone. A son her boyfriend never wanted. Ray becomes even more determined to succeed, and finds the motivation to become someone for herself and for her son...a doctor.
Mace has carried the burden of grief on his shoulders since the age of 16. Ever since he returned home after a trip to enquirer about becoming a marine, to find his parents and younger sister had been slain whilst he was gone. Mace then emotionally closes himself off from himself and those around him.
A warehouse shoot out lands mace in hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh, and introduces him to the only woman who could possibly be the only one who could repair his wounded heart for good. Dr Araylia Masters. Quickly falling in love with each other, those walls which they had both built around themselves, slowly begin to fall. But, their pasts may ultimately destroy everything.
For me, personally and honestly. The lucky Bullet wasn't the most brilliantly written story I've ever read. It didn't quite flow fluidly in places, and I felt that the relationship between Ray and Mace was travelling far too fast to be believable at times. One minute they had just met, the next they were living together. But, despite my feelings, what H.S. Strickland has in The Lucky Bullet, is one extremely captivating, unpredictable story which both intrigues and keeps you guessing at every turn, and to the very end. It's a fascinating read which has you forgetting any little niggles you originally had, and leaves you just kicking back and immersing yourself inside of the complex inner workings of both of the characters lives. The Lucky Bullet truly is a suspense filled, uniquely individual, refreshing read which will leave you desperate to read the concluding chapter to this captivating series. I for one can't wait to get stuck into The Missing Pieces, and highly recommend you give this one a read.

Arayalia "Ray" Masters, is a single mother juggling her time between her job as a doctor and raising her 3 y/o son Liam. Ray hasn't been with a man since Liam's dad. She hasn't had time or is she afraid of getting to close to another man again for what had happened.
Mace Mason, a hostage negotiator, gets injured in the line of duty. He finds himself going to the hospital and gets introduced to Ray as she is his doctor who takes care of him. Mace also also puts things first: his job. He doesn't have time or will allow to give his heart to another person, not after what has happened to him in the past. He fears he won't survive it.
This is a great story of a woman who puts her son first and foremost. With the help of her family (Nanna & her brothers: Michael, Matthew & Bryan) they help her with Liam. But Ray forgets that she also needs to be loved. And Mace needing to let got of his guilt about his past to possibly have a future with Ray & Liam.
From the beginning , this is a fun story to read on how Ray gets flustered around "the most stunning man she has ever seen." the hospital seen when Mace comes in, is pretty funny. Mace knows from the start he wants to get to know Ray and he really doesn't know why. Mace also gets flustered around Ray and wants to pursue her. But Ray & Mace have a lot of trauma from their past and are stubborn & afraid to let the other in. I wanted the scream & throttle both of these characters if I could! Mace was a brute sometimes nut also a extreme alpha male which I love. Ray was very independent and feisty which I love as well. This couple had great chemistry and once they got together…..fireworks!
Again, I hate to give spoilers, so I'll leave it at this…Go get this book, there is SOOOOOO much more going on and is truly a great story. Looking forward to more stories from H.S. Strickland!!!!!
***I was given this book for an honest review in conjunction with Nerd Girl***
I have to say I give this novel 5 stars!! Congrats H.S Strickland because you have done it again!! You never seem to disappoint me when I am reading one of your books! So let me just tip my hat to you.
This story follows Araylia. (Ray) A single mother to her 3 year old son Liam. A woman with deep wounds from her past relationship (Liam's father) Emotional and physical wounds that cut deep and have caused many emotional issues and blocks for her. She has built metaphorical walls if you will. No longer interested in love after enduring what she has been through. She presses on to become the best mother and provider she can be. She becomes a successful Doctor. She attempts to keep her past in the past even though it does seem to affect her in the present.
In comes Mace into her life. An investigator/Bounty Hunter. During an assignment he is shot in the leg and rushed to the ER where Ray treats him. The chemistry between these two characters is immanent. Ray however is not looking for love and resists his advances. This intrigues Mace and makes him all that more determined to win over the beautiful Doctor.
I love the writing of this author. From the first word read you instantly intwine yourself into the story. You find yourself cheering on the characters. You feel their emotions as if they were your own. That is the mark of a talented writer!! I do not want to give anything more away so I will leave you with this...
~I was given this for an honest review by the author~
I was hooked from the first page of this book. Araylia and Mace have some serious chemistry plus he treats her kid like his own. I loved the way they met, even it included him getting shot. Mace is extremely hot and demanding as hell but it so works for me. The way he protects Ray and Liam is incredible. He has everything under control or so he thinks. I also must say at first I thought they moved on a bit to fast despite all their issues but I think it had to happen this way. Ray is an incredible mom who's been thru a lot in her life but has a family who loves her and is very protective of her. Her ex is a work of art, let me tell you. He controlled everything she did including sex and is out to bring her back to him. She is suddenly fearful for her and her son. Mace, his team and all her brothers protect her the best way they can. This book is full of sweet moments and has some serious action in it as well. There was one issue I had, every time they got into a fight, they'd kick the other person out. That's not the way you handle things, you give space and then you talk it out. Other than that, this was an incredible book and I was blown away by it!
This book was so good! I loved Mace and Ray from the very beginning and it only continued to grow stronger as the book continued.
Mace is a bounty hunter and private investigator. He has cut himself off emotionally after suffering a family tragedy when his sister passes away. When he ends up shot, he falls under the emergency care of Ray.
Ray is a single parent to a young son, one whose been the victim of domestic violence before and now wants nothing to do with men in general. But even she can’t deny that there’s an attraction between her and the sexy stranger.
Mace is the epitome of an Alpha male, and Ray is a feisty, head strong woman. Their chemistry is off the charts. Throw in the way Mace treats Ray’s daughter, and you’ll definitely swoon over him!
When Ray’s crazy ex comes back and is determined to stop at nothing to get what he wants, Mace’s protective alpha mode comes out in full force!
I couldn’t put this book down once I started it. The characters were relatable and likable within the first few pages. This is my first read by HS but definitely will not be my last!
What a great debut novel! This is a fast paced romantic suspense that will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The characters leap off the pages - I love it when authors write characters with FLAWS. No one is superficial in this book. Every character is rich and well developed. I love it when a book makes me laugh out loud. Some of the things said to one another in this book are priceless. I'm not going to ruin it for you by posting spoilers, but take it from me - the plot is fabulous, the action is non-stop, and the sex is HOT!
Araylia (Ray) is a single mother to her son, Liam, and a doctor at a local hospital. She meets Mason when he is shot on the job. He's immediately attracted to the feisty Araylia, who escaped an abusive relationship and is not ready for the force of nature that is Mace!
Mason (Mace) has demons of his own. He has experienced extreme losses in his life and, while he is very aware that Ray has a son, he is in no way prepared for how Ray and the adorable Liam will affect him - heart and soul.
Be assured: I will be reading Intertwined Seduction #2. I wouldn't miss it for the world!
I really enjoyed this book. You can tell the author put a lot into the characters. They each have there own POV which I really enjoy that.
Mace is a man that has a horrible past. Phew has suffered serious lose and more than once. He now keeps him self guarded. He works as a personal investigator of sorts, he does what cops can't. And when he is shot, he ends up in her ER.
Araylia better known as Ray, is a doctor at an ER. She works her ass off to provide for her and her 3 year old son Liam. He is what drives her everyday. She has suffered through an abusive relationship with Luke and now it is just her and Liam. She has 3 older brothers and her Nanny to help her though. Then one night he comes into her ER.
Ray and Mace meet and have that instance chemistry. Which is apparent with Mace! Their relationship happens fast. It goes from one date to Ray and Liam having to move in with Mace.
This was an intense book. I did find that once I started it, it was hard to put this down. I can't wait to read more from this author. This is a stand alone book.
A professional single mother, Araylia (Ray), meets a “law enforcer”, Mason (Mace), after he suffers from an injury at work. The two immediately hit it off, and boy, are there sparks!
That’s the story, right? Wrong! Ray’s ex and sons “father”, Luke, is coo coo for Cocoa Puffs. That’s right, I said it. Cray Cray. Just when you think he’s calmed down and disappeared, nope. Still there. And while Luke is going bonkers, we learn more about the two lead characters’ pasts and why they are the way they are.
I really enjoyed meeting some of the “support” characters and hope that we get to learn more about them in future books. Without these supporting rolls, I just might have been less interested in this one.
So what happens? I’m not tellin’. But I will say that it’s a HEA, YAY!
Would I recommend this one? Yes. My only “gripe” was that there was more detail in things I didn’t care about and less when I wanted it. But a girl doesn’t always get what she wants…
*I was given a copy of this book as a gift from Stephanie's Book Reports in exchange for an honest review.
I totally loved this book, really was a brilliant story flow and kept me reading to the point i couldn't put it down from page one... Araylia (Ray) is a doctor and a single mum to 3 year old Liam. Her parents were not around much when she was younger and her and her brothers were raised by Nanny. Liam's dad was a violent evil man and violated her in every way possible, but she has managed to get away... For now!!! Mason (Mace) ex marine and owner of Jones Security gets shot during a rescue mission and ends up at the hospital, his doctor... Ray. He asks her out on a date, she agrees... Bring on one hot scourching relationship!!! The story is written with passion and you can feel the energy between the two of them and it is electric!!! With twists and turns and an ex full of anger looking for revenge, and a heart braking past from Mace... This book has every emotion needed to make the story amazing! It is definately a 10/10 read and i really can't wait to find out what Ms Strickland has planned for the next in series!!! Reviewed by Tracy @ Ladies Of Love Book Blog And Graphics
Araylia is a single mom to a three year old little boy, as well as a full time doctor. After the disaster that her relationship with Liam's dad was, she doesn't even want to date. Something changes in her when a gorgeous gunshot victim comes into her er. Mason runs his own security business with guys he was in the military with. When he's shot and ends up in the er, he can hardly control himself when the hottest woman he's ever met comes in and says she's his doctor. I loved this book. There was so much drama with Araylia's ex. It kept things interesting and mixed it up a bit. The pair were both very sweet to each other and much quicker to forgive than I would have been given some of the circumstances. Told in a dual pov, we got to see things from both sides. Overall it was well written and flowed nicely.
Araylia (aka Ray) was a doctor and a single mother. Having gotten away from the abusive father of her son, Liam, she was starting her life over. Making sure that Liam was taken care of was her main concern, not dating. Until one night, Mason (aka Mace) was brought into her ER with a gun shot wound to his leg. There was instant attraction between the two. But as we find out, they both have secrets they are not willing to talk about. The past WILL come back to haunt you. And they were about to find this out first hand!
H.S. Strickland has done an incredible job with her debut novel. The storyline and characters were so very relatable. I will be on the lookout for more stories from this author.
I enjoyed this story. It's a story you do hear more often than should be told, but there are many single parents out there. Mace seems like a guy that really knows what he wants in life. I wish I would have been able to learn more about him in the beginning. Learn more about who he is and what he's been through before meeting Ray. I like Ray. She may have been a little timid at first when it came to Mace, but she had good reason. I loved that she was able to open up and wasn't forced into saying or doing what she didn't want to. It can be tough to open up about your past when starting a new chapter in your life. I hope there's another chapter to this story with a dive more so into Mace's past.
Araylia has had a hard life, made even harder by her abusive ex-boyfriend. Now a single mum of a beautiful boy, working as nurse in her dream job, her life is starting to get better...
While at work one night she meets Mace and is instantly attracted to him. Not understanding her feelings, but not been able to can control them, has her flustered. So when he asks her to take him home, she agrees, hoping to get to know him more...
Mace and Ray are perfect for each other. Both have suffered and survived, through hell in the past....
Can they save each other or will their past come back to haunt them?
Wow!! Amazing first book by H.S.Strickland. Can't wait to read more of this series
First, Mace is mine! Whew, you need to read this one just for him. Araylia has been through so much yet she becomes such a strong willed woman. Mason has had his fair share of heartbreak, too. These two meet when one lucky bullet brings them together. From there, no matter how hard they try to deny the attraction between them, it's no use. It's too strong. However when things seem to be falling into place, someone else has plans to destroy them both. I recommend this one! Great job by the author. The story flows smoothly, the characters are well developed, and you'll be sucked in wanting to keep the pages turning until the very end!

Wow!! Amazing first book by H.S.Strickland. Can't wait to read more of this series
I received an ARC, in exchange for an honest review. I was really intrigued by the synopsis of this book, and am grateful to have had the opportunity to read it. However, I could not relate to the characters. The relationship aspect was a little too fast-paced, and completely unrealistic. The characters' thoughts and feelings became overly monotonous, in the way that they were unnecessarily repetitive. There were very few grammar and punctuation errors, and the book was very descriptive. Overall, I enjoyed this book, but not as much as I had anticipated.
Wow. This was a fast paced beautiful story. From the beginning, I was swept up in the compelling story of Ray and Mace. To watch the interactions of all the characters was like watching a well produced ballet. The subtleties and differences in the personalities made it so real to me. We all have those friends that are more like family and we all have that family member that we want to slap. At the end of the day this story was a surprise that kept me guessing and I kept turning the page in anticipation. To say that I am looking forward to book two is an understatement.
Seeing my book live on Amazon is just ...I don't even know. There are no words for it. This is my baby, my first book. I put my sweat and tears into it and to see it out there for everyone, it makes me speechless. Thank you for everyone that has helped me with this process, you guys are amazing!
What a great book! From the beginning to the end you are sucked in. Liam is so sweet. When he calls Mace daddy it just melts your heart. Loved Ray and Mace together, they are funny, passionate, loving....and feisty. Mace is Rays hero however Mace has some skeletons on his own. You will laugh, hold your breath, cry and then cry tears of joy. Just as you think the story is going one way it slams you in the chest halting you in your tracks. Can't wait to read book 2!
I didn't really love this story or the characters, it was just ok. I didn't feel a big connection between Ray and Mace and I found it very hard to believe her back story. With regards to Mace we are made aware early on that he lost his parents and sister to a robbery/murder but then out of the blue we hear of another murder/tragedy that involved more people he loved dying, that just seems too unbelievable to me. I doubt I'll be reading the rest of this series.
Wow! What a read! Two people with darkness and pain in their past, meet by chance.......or maybe not?......but what a meeting and what a couple! Mace and Ray's story gripped me from the start and didn't let go, they have both been through so much and so deserve a HEA. Love Mace, such an alpha male, and his band of brothers. Liam melted my heart and I loved the other secondary characters. I hope we get to read about them soon
This novel delivers a tight, crisply drawn cast, all caught up in the sway and currents of romance and lust. Set in our everyday world, the book takes us on a passionate ride through their hearts and desires while telling the story from alternative perspectives – an approach that widens and colors the sweet seductions.
WOW!! I am most definitely a fan for life now! This book has everything a reader craves in a book from a hot, sex you alpha male to a strong, beautiful heroine. I feel in love with Ray and Mace relationship and I felt like I was in a Rollercoaster of emotion from reading this book! If you want a book fill with funny sexy romance look no further!!
