Years of secrets kept them apart. One truth could reunite them forever.

One moment changes everything—seeing her there, in his bed. I run, protecting my unborn child. Years pass, and I build a good life for us. Then Nathan returns...bringing with him questions I'm not ready to answer.

The moment she vanishes, my world crumbles. Three years later, I finally find her again, only to discover I have a son—and that someone deliberately destroyed what we had. I won't lose them twice.
A steamy second-chance romance about betrayal, secrets, and the power of true love.

I wouldn't call this much of a story as it's more of an "insta" everything & not much depth, story or plot.

SPOILER! STOP NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE ENTIRE PLOT!

So MCs were in love 3 years prior and MMC was all set to propose to FMC but never got the chance because she had just found out she was pregnant and came to his place to tell him but instead got the surprise of her life when she found a naked woman in his bed who made it seem that MMC was cheating on her when he was not.

So devastated, she leaves and goes to her home where she gets a text from supposedly MMC's phone that states he never wants to see her again and that it's over. (This plot with the phone was never resolved BTW because even though we know it must have been the BFF who hated the MCs who did this, it was never brought up how he was able to get a hold of MMC's phone. Nor the angst with FMC & her Father was ever resolved either since he was ashamed of her single motherhood status).

Anyhoo, FMC disappears and in the present she is an Event Planner and has a 2 year old son. MMC conveniently shows up at this event she is managing which he apparently & unbeknownst to him, had hired her.

So they see one another and before they can even say a word, they are having sex. Then the coward FMC smacks him & leaves, he follows, they talk, he finds out he has a son and is all in, the BFF gets some comeuppance, all is forgiven and HEA. That is it. The entire story.

Safety:

It was mentioned that FMC was celibate during separation but nothing about the MMC. Only thing that was stated is that his BFF tried to get him to party with him but he never had the inclination as his work was a priority.

No OW/OM drama other than the BFF getting fired and out of their lives.

HEA a few years later with marriage and 2 more kids.

Very short novella that is basically shortened hp.
Heroine surprises her boyfriend to tell him she’s preggo.
She finds another woman in his bed that tells him he doesn’t want her anymore. She leaves, and soon after she receives a text by her boyfriend that says he doesn’t want her anymore. I mean. They’ve been together for some time, is it acceptable to break up by text? And she’s preggo. I would have snatched ow by her hair and dragged her slutty body through the house kicking her sorry ass. No, she leaves.
And of course she doesn’t tell him she’s preggo.
Three years later they accidentally meet.
Looks like the hero tried to find her but nobody told him where she was, they all hated him.
So he thought she left him.
It turns out it was one of his friends who hated him and wanted to ruin his relationship with the heroine, he put his gf in the hero’s bed while he was away.
So he never cheated.
The book is not only too short, but also too shallow.
The MCs have sex as soon as they meet again, that is, as in twenty second after. Thank god they were in a room alone, I don’t know what could have happened if they met in front of other people.
The hero gives zero resistance, and wants her back.
The conflict is solved immediately, and when he finds out he’s got a son he’s not angry.
The man is very understanding so the only idiot is the heroine who believed a woman and never even saw the hero that day.
Who does that?
Ok, this is fiction, very light and short.
Nothing is said about safety, it looks like both were celibate though.

This is like a mini Harlequin Presents…

I knew what would happen the second the FML hit the bedroom door. All I needed to discover was who the blonde was. And we get confirmation finally at the end of the story.

I like the characters except for the villain of course. The MML, Nathan, didn’t seem all that interested in tracking her down. It’s been about three years and it didn’t appear that he ever made an effort to find her. She of course simply fled into the unknown and never made the effort to find out what happened, nor to tell him her little secret.

Very short but just like a mini Harlequin with betrayal and angst. It was pretty good!

KU read and I may need to check out this author’s books.

Do not be fooled by the three stars as this book was well written but doesn’t have any meat to it. The three stars means it was OK, nothing more. I didn’t hate it so I couldn’t in good conscience give it a lower rating. But that’s all it was, just OKAY.

The FMC runs away on the MMC because she believes that he cheated on her. We later find out it was someone out to hurt the MMC by sabotaging his relationship with her. The problem I had with this book isn’t the plot or the characters, it was the lack of impact or depth this story gave. We knew that the FMC was hurt but other than the initial discovery of the supposed cheating she just runs off. No follow up, no attempt to let MMC know that he was going to be a dad, nothing. I do understand that she was afraid he would take her baby away because of his financial status in comparison to hers but we don’t SEE any of that. This book floats the surface of this situation with literally no effort to give the characters any dimension.

Besides that, the villain character Brad is never explained. Other than being close to the MMC in college and an employee in the present, we don’t know if it’s just friends or if they are related or why such a loser would even be an employee as he clearly did more harm than good. Literally we just don’t know what his motivations for being the villain to the MMC are. Like what would he get out of it? There’s just no real excuse given other than he didn’t like the MMC since college and wanted access to his money. But if they aren’t related then how would he get access to his money? It’s so vague and unclear. Smdh.

Either way, it’s a super short story. Good as a palette cleanser for when we all need one. Or maybe to get your reading goals met. I will try this author again and hope there is a book with more substance to it somewhere in her catalog. Good luck.

Despite the dramatic story about mu/secret-pregnancy/separation, it is actually a very low drama book.
The mcs are nice ppl - totally in love then, as they are now.
The villains in their lives drove them apart. But after they meet again, the h resists facing him (taking up few chapters).
But once they actually compare stories, they get back together without much angst or hashing up things. The h is most agreeable, I'd say.

Short but.sweet

Young lovers torn apart by a cruel deed but reunited three years later.. Only a child is involved and the hero is.lost as to.what.happened. she found a naked woman in his bed and ran without telling him. He still loves.her and she still loves him, they talk and clear up.the past it was a sweet story but.very.very very short. No mention of relationships on his part but he did think that she.was the one for him and no others. I wish it had been longer.

Short but sweet

This was a lovely little novella. It created an appropriate amount of drama for its length and didn’t overdo things. There was certainly plenty of room to expand the story, but it was perfectly fine as it was. All up, a very enjoyable read.

This wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. It reminded me of an old school Harlequin. Quick read, and that is a benefit.

short read..

Very rushed when I read it was a romance cheating trope I expected more I guess. I feel like this has a lot of potential and more could have happened one second she was leaving cause she thought he cheated and the next she’s forgiving him and his parents love her all of a sudden and are very welcoming (in the beginning it was explained his family never liked her and always talked down on her). Very little drama the FL seemed like she will make his work for her forgiveness but gave in very quickly one minute she’s giving him the evil eye and the next page she’s loving him and forgiving like nothing happened even if it was a misunderstanding.I think this was one of my most fastest reads ever and I read some short stories before good thing it’s on KU or else I would have been a little irritated if I bought the book with how it went.

When giving a second chance is easy

This was an easy read. A second chance that you can just glide through. I loved Nathan’s determination to get back the love of his life. He knew what he wanted and he was willing to do anything for it. Amelia was everything I expected her to be. A true thought to “the heart wants what the heart wants”. I’m glad the story didn’t take on the horrors of relationships gone wrong. It showed the villain and quickly disposed of him. If you’re looking for a soft read.. then you’ve found it. Enjoy!😊

a cute fast read

This was quick and simple. There was no explanation of them moving to Boston from Dallas after the reveal and thankfully for the second epilogue we got some closure with: “I sigh and close my eyes, sinking deeper into his embrace. I think of Dad, the rift still there, and Mom’s twice-yearly visits, never quite enough. But Jules—my rock, my constant—she’s been here through it all. And Brad? Gone. Just an echo from the past.”

It was a nice story and I’m glad it was all a “friend”’s doing and not his rich family.

Awesome Quick Read

Amelia finds another woman in Nathan's bed and runs out of his apartment. Later that evening she receives a text from him saying he can't do this anymore and not to contact him again.
Shattered, she leaves town.
When they meet again, Nathan follows her out the door. He doesn't know why she left him and now that he's found her he's not letting her go again.
Will they overcome their past to forge a new future?
I LOVED THIS STORY!!!!!

beautiful

I have been really digging second chance romances lately but this one by far takes the cake and its novella length to boot! Loved the character development, the ability to condense a timeline the way the author did so seamlessly, and the two epilogues are fabulous additions. Well done!

This is our forever

I enjoyed the story line but it was very rushed. If you're looking for the short version this is it, lots off things could have been added to flesh it out to a full story. Moving back to the city for example when was that decision made? Did she just leave everything behind? But still ok for a quick read.

What could have been…

Nathan and Amelia are college lovers but split after a misunderstanding. Three years later, Nathan finds her and their son. All is explained and forgiven.

The problem with this story is nothing is fleshed out-it’s very high school English class writing. Hill could have built so much into the story. More like a short story than a novel.

Quick and HEA

If you keep in mind that this is a short read, it's a nice second chance story. Obviously they both messed up, otherwise they wouldn't need a second chance. Good if you are just looking for a quick entertaining read. Really enjoyed their epilogue. Beautiful ending.

A short and sweet read about reconnecting after finding out someone has broken you up. Amelia and Nathan run into each other after a few years, and discover what went wrong. A good read.

Super short
I mean, it wasn’t terrible, but there was really zero depth. I just felt it kept jumping forward without explanations of anything so if you’re looking for a short story and a fast read, this would be it.

Amelia, and Nathan... Relationship

Nathan has a slime friend that wants to hurt Nathan. He did in a malicious plot to hurt ,Amelia, and Nathan. This friend is intent or desire to harm, annoy, and injury Nathan. But there more in the end..it a Happy ending.

This was a quick read but I found the story plot had a lot of huge gaps and missing pieces to follow. Which made me question what did I miss. So I need to mark this story as just an okay read.

The story does have an HEA.

This was alright was a bit boring but it was a short book so can’t fault it there. It had some cute moments but a storyline like this should’ve been made longer in my opinion so more growth could happen

The book read well! Hitting the major points and characters without being verbose. The story of love lost and found again has always been a great romantic genre. Loved it and would recommend it to everyone.

great story

This was such a refreshing second Chance romance. The characters actually talk things out in an adult fashion. No prolonged back and forth. This was a nice, quick read.
