Curvy Girl and the Grumpy Firefighter is Book 2 of the Pine Valley: Fire Department series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, age-gap, grumpy-sunshine, curvy virgin gets her Dad's best friend romance. Kane is a hunky, grumpy, 40 year old ex-military man turned firefighter. He suffers from PTSD from his military days. He is also Luke’s best friend. Sadie is a 22 year old sweet and curvy dispatcher at the fire station. She is Luke, the fire chief's daughter. She has been in love with Kane since she was 19. Kane loves her too but is worried about his demons, the age gap, and her dad. He also thinks he doesn't deserve happiness. But when Sadie asks him to the Firefighter's ball, will he let his guard down and let her in? I loved these two together so much!! Their chemistry was hot, and the ending was so happy after Kane finally let down his walls. Yay to Eleanor for her final nudge. I loved it!!.

Curvy Girl and the Grumpy Firefighter is the second book in the Pine Valley: Fire Department series and this time it Sadie and Kane who take a rough road to their HEA. Sadie is Chief Luke's daughter and she works on the 911 switchboard. Kane is Luke's best friend and his second in command. He is also suffering from PTSD that makes him believe he does not deserve anything good or loving in life. Sadie has been in love with Kane since she was a teenager, mooning over him but never crossing any lines. But a bet with Stella, her friend who found her love with Luke in the previous book, she has to ask Kane to be her date to the annual Christmas Ball, a fundraiser for the department. Sadie may find the nerve to do the asking but will Kane have the nerve to accept and then follow through with just one dance?
I enjoyed this book and getting to see who Kane was and how both he and Sadie can read each other so well.

Eu só pretendia ler o primeiro livro da série - pelo menos por enquanto - mas fiquei tão curiosa com a Sadie e o Kane, que não resisti e corri pra ler a história deles também. E ela foi maravilhosa! Kane tinha muitos traumas da época em que foi militar e isso refletia na maneira que ele se socializava - ou deixava de socializar. Sadie foi perfeita, sabendo como agir em cada situação e tendo a sensibilidade de enxergar o que realmente se escondia por trás da fachada de poucos amigos de Kane. Ela lutou pelos dois e foi muito paciente no momento em que ele mais precisava disso. E como valeu a pena investir nesse amor. É impossível chegar ao final do livro e não estar apaixonada e deslumbrada pelo homem que Kane se tornou. Nossa, eu amei demais essa história! Linda, tocante e muito especial. Sadie, the daughter of Chief Luke, is head over heels for her dad's grumpy second-in-command, Kane, who's wrestling with PTSD and an equally severe case of grumpiness. I'm obsessed with Zoey Rose's quick, romantic reads, especially the ones that make you feel like love can conquer even the grumpiest of grumps! Sadie doesn't see the emotional baggage Kane's military experiences left behind when she looks at him; she sees his strength and warm heart! Kane has to be convinced that he's worthy of happiness, and Sadie is just the woman for the job! It's such a ridiculously sweet love story!

Sadie is the dispatcher at the fire station and the fire chief’s daughter. She is innocent and a ray of sunshine and has the biggest crush on her dad‘s best friend.
Kane is a firefighter, grumpy, twice her age. He has both physical and mental scars from his military time. The things he witnessed and had to do has caused him to lock people out. He is also in law with Sadie, but feels like he is too old and too damaged for her.
I love how Sadie never gives up on Kane and how persistent she is and once he accepts her love how it changes him.

Is Kane really a mix of Dark Cloud and Ice Cube? Sadie has hold her crush for too long and now she only asks for one dance.

Another Great Story!!

I love these characters so much. Sadie was so in love with Kane. Kane held the Grumpiest Firefighter of the Year Award. He was so busy in his own head he couldn’t even imagine a life without the memories, horrors and nightmares from his military service. Eventually Sadie asked Kane to dance one dance with her. Sadie finally gets her story! She gets the courage to ask her long time crush, Kane, to the firefighters ball. Kane has a lot of demons from his time in the military and doesn't believe he deserves good things, especially not someone as young and sweet as Sadie. She convices him that he deserves it all.

Feast your eyes on this HOT cover and romance read. OMG Luke and Stella are going to blow you out of the water with their HOT and STEAMY romance. Sadie had been wanting Kane for a long time and finally gets the nerve to ask him to escort her to the Christmas gala. This story was filled with tension and hesitation to act on his feelings. The explosive chemistry was hot and steamy. It was an interesting short read.

This little quick story did not disappoint. I felt the tension and all his emotions in this book. He was closed off and in turmoil with himself.
