The Frog Prince

Rate this book
Chris isn’t your average hero.

In fact, he isn’t really a hero at all.

He’s a treefrog.

With a chip on his shoulder bigger than most lilypads, Chris is prepared to do whatever it takes to break the spell his stepmother placed on him as a child. Even if that means braving a labyrinth where old, and corrupt, fairytales go to die to save a sleeping beauty locked in a tower.

Even before the enchantment that trapped her in a magical sleep, Rachel Constance Dupree lived most of her life in a daze. She never believed in fairytales, happily ever afters, or charming young heroes willing to battle dragons and the forces of evil for their lady love. She never believed in curses, or miracles, or the power of true loves kiss. She never believed in any of it... until she met Christopher Greyson.

Now, Rachel and Chris will learn that even a treefrog can wear armor and that not every happy ending begins with a ‘once upon a time’.

Another very good story. Also this is fun to read and quite a relaxing/exciting read for a good sunny afternoon.

This one though was a little less believable than the first.
The mix of stories makes less sense.
How do the frog prince know all that stuff if he's been closed in an aquarium all his life? Shouldn't he still have some childish behaviour?
Doesn't he have several years of knowledge missing.

But maybe that the little psychologist in me that wants to come out ;)

Book Review- The Frog Prince by Adrianne Brooks

Christopher Greyson has escaped his glass prison. The fairy godmother sends him to a castle that seems to be haunted. His frog form makes it in the front door only to be confronted by a strange woman’s voice and an unconscious body upstairs. He is able to wake her and they plan to escape. They have to get past the dragon first then make it through the maze.
They encounter several obstacles in the maze. Rachel uses the fairy dust to help as they walk along. Chris also has some unknown tricks that get them past some of the dangerous things lurking in the maze.
Once they make it out they have to deal with the human world. Both find themselves arrested and at the mercy of Mal as she argues their charges. Alex finally realizes where Rachel is and comes to help her get out of jail. Alex also learns who Chris is. The shock that Alex feels is incredible.
Rachel needs to rid herself of the Sleeping Beauty curse and Danielle gives her away to do so. Rachel agrees hoping she can break Chris’ curse as well. Unfortunately Danielle didn’t reveal all her plans. Rachel knew not to trust her as she fights for her life and saving Chris.
This story has so many references to classic fairytales. Sleeping Beauty is the obvious one with Rachel’s curse. The second is the Frog Prince with Chris’ curse of turning into a frog. Then add in the toadstone that everyone wants, the fairy dust, the dragons and Danielle’s evil manipulations and you’ve got quite the story.
I liked how Rachel was asleep in the castle guarded by a dragon, one of Sam’s dragons. She is rescued by a frog. In the beginning the picture is ridiculous in some aspect. I like how they worked together to escape the castle and the maze. At first they have no real clue who the other person is. I like the reactions the author wrote when they find out Rachel is Alex’s best friend and Chris is her brother. It is interesting to see the dynamic play out.
Their attraction to each other seems quick but if you are destined for each other, you just know. However Danielle is determined to thwart them all and get what she wants. Her evilness knows no bounds apparently. She is a great character to hate. She possesses such horrible qualities and drive. The author created an unrepentant and unfeeling evil villain. It will be interesting to see what she does next. This book was quite the ride. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Firstly, I’m not fond of the book cover if they remove the frog I might consider it just doesn’t fit well with the hunky guy. 😁

Secondly, the story this time is less believable than the first book. Although, I still like it because of the fairytale characters with a twist. There is no literal prince or princesses, but their adventure is different and full of surprising events. Some of the chapters are quite annoying and lack of information. There are lots of skipping happening in the story, but I still keep up.

Thirdly, I still like the characters especially Maleficent. One character who stood up and cracked me up (big time!!) is Rachel’s mother. I just wished she had more part in the story, the comedy part.

Lastly, I gave it four stars because it got very interesting at the end. There is one character that I’m interested and I’m hoping that he will have a turn on the next book.

There some steamy sex part so children this is not for you. I know most of you likes the fairytale story but this one is for an adult.

Good story

I really liked Chris and Rachel's story. They went through so much together. I can't wait to see Danielle get hers. She is so evil and she will do anything to get what she wants. I am wondering too what's going to happen with Alex and Sam. So many questions. I hope they are answered in the next book.

Another twisted fairytale!

I can't praise the author Adrianne Brooks enough for her concept and writing of these fantastic books. I long ago outgrew these fairy tale stories but now that they come in an adult version with more plot, scarier villains and a touch of sultry romance I can't put them down. I will never look at the bedtime stories I read my children the same way again!

These are NOT Disney fairy tales. The Frog Prince has sex, eloquent bad language, and people burned to a crisp. I liked Dragon King better, but Chris makes a great frog, and Rachel and Alex together are hysterical. Mal may yet win me over to the Dark Side.

I mainly read this one to tie up the story from The Dragon King and I - It wasn't horrible but there were some continuity issues that just annoyed me - but if you just want a switch off read with a bit of fantasy romance its not the worst either.

This book just didn't seem to be as good as the first in the series. But it was still entertaining and a fun read. I felt as if the end came quickly - very abruptly and should have continued for a few more pages instead of feeling rushed.

Ok Safe for now

Who had thought. A Genie, a witch, can't forget there's a fire breathing spouting Dragon he's a guard dog but he's guarding who from what. Great read have to see who's next.

It was great. Like the first, there were a few word errors, but nothing horrendous. Other than that and the issues mentioned in my status updates, it was perfect. On to the next!

Sleeping Beauty with a Twist

I like grown fairytales. There have been many versions, enough that good ones can get lost. I admit the story was a bit too twisted for me, at times. Almost too hard to keep track of all the different players. Still it was a good way to waste away the day.
