Winnie Logan thought she’d found love, but what she got was control, chaos, and a life she no longer recognized. Desperate to escape her toxic past, she flees to Logan Harbor, the small coastal town where her family vineyard promises solace and a chance to rebuild. But starting over isn’t as simple as she hoped—especially when Trevor Calhoun, her brother’s loyal and infuriatingly handsome best friend, is suddenly part of her everyday life.
Trevor has always been the protector. It’s in his nature to fix things and shield the people he cares about, even when it means ignoring his own feelings. Winnie’s arrival stirs emotions he’s buried for years, and as their connection deepens, he knows he’s risking everything—including their friendship.
But when shadows of Winnie’s past resurface, threatening the fragile peace she’s found, Trevor refuses to stand by. As danger looms closer, their growing love is tested, and both must decide: can they truly move forward, or will the past destroy everything they’re fighting for?
In a town where secrets linger and love offers the ultimate refuge, Winnie and Trevor must learn that sometimes, the only way to heal is to stop running—and take a leap of faith.

I feel like this quote shows the inner conflict between the Main characters. Winnie is struggling to love Adam who's abusive/ struggling with addiction. Wanting to let him go, but also clinging on to the past/ the good times. Waiting and wondering if that person will ever resurface. While Trevor is struggling wondering where his heart lies. To stay with the girl he's known forever or to go after the girl his heart won't stop beating for.
I want to thank BookSirens and Lavelle House for the copy. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Okay, I don’t even know where to start because Flee completely took over my heart in the best possible way. If you love small towns where everyone knows your name, bonfires, and the boy next door then this book is IT.
Winnie is a strong, relatable character. I cheered for her rebuilding her life after escaping that toxic relationship. and I felt every bit of her fear, hope, and growing confidence. And don’t even get me started on Trevor. He’s the quiet, brother’s best friend but also the guy who’s been secretly in love with her forever and HELLO I am obsessed. He’s gentle when she needs it, protective when it counts, and the tension between them?? Literal butterflies in my stomach. Also, Logan Harbor felt like home. I wanted to drink at Tide & Vine and dance under string lights and never leave. Every side character felt so real, like people I could actually run into at a coffee shop.
This is the kind of book that makes you believe there really are second chances. It made me laugh, cry, blush, and smile like a total dork. It’s small town, feel good romance at it’s best. This was my very first ARC and I had so much fun getting an early copy!
This was a great little fast paced palate cleanser from my usual reads. It definitely wasn’t expecting the “dramatic” scene near the ending but it definitely set it apart from the typical small town cliche.
I only wish that the spicy scene was a little more lengthy and descriptive. I kind of feel jipped that I didn’t get more after all their push and pull and forbidden wanting.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Flee was a quiet, powerful journey through heartbreak, healing, and the kind of love that grows slowly and deeply. I was rooting for Winnie Logan from the very first page. Her strength in the face of pain, her return to the vineyard and the town of Logan Harbor, and her quiet determination to rebuild her life. Little did she know that moving back home with her brother would mean rooming with Trevor Calhoun, her brother’s best friend. Trevor Calhoun is patient and kind with Winnie, There’s this beautiful tension between them, unspoken longing, and the fragility that comes when someone has been hurt before. Their love doesn’t erupt, it blooms.
Flee is a great reminder of how important community is, how we don’t heal in isolation, and how sometimes going back is the bravest thing we can do.
Thank you so much Lavelle House for this ARC, I really enjoyed it.
Winnie knew phoning her brother for help was her only option. Leaving college and her ex fiance was the right thing to do, she only wishes she'd done it sooner. Now going back home and finishing her degree remotely was the best outcome. What she didn't expect was for her brothers best friend to there to help her as well. Trevor loved his job at the hospital, he enjoyed being back in his hometown. What he hadn't expected was to fall back into a relationship with his school sweetheart. He knew it wasn't what he wanted or needed but stupidly he'd fallen straight back into her. Now he was face to face with his best friends sister and the only person he truly wanted. This is a story that deals with a number of sensitive subjects that might upset some. I will say that I found the story to be carefully and compassionately spoken about. Can Winnie move on from her previous partner, or will he prove that he doesn't deal well with rejection. Will Trevor finally realise where his heart belongs. I loved everything about this book and I'm hopeful that more of the characters will get their own stories, especially Nate.
This is a beautiful story of Winnie and Trevor's second chance at love. I really enjoyed this story and I connected with both of them. I am looking forward to reading the next story. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
-A heartfelt, satisfying read that honors trauma and celebrates second chances. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily sharing my honest opinion.
Winnie’s journey of healing is raw, hopeful, and beautifully real. Trevor, the loyal best friend, brings gentle strength and swoony tension.
Set in cozy Logan Harbor, the story blends emotional depth with slow-burn romance. Demonstrates the importance of community.
I really enjoyed this book, I think the pacing was good and I think it was easy to get to know the characters without feeling lost at any point. I really enjoyed the romance and I thought it was well paced and the culmination of feelings was a ready feel good moment that made the book!
I would definitely recommend this book and encourage people to read it! Make sure you read trigger warnings, but overall I enjoyed this read!!
I didn’t expect to get so emotionally invested, but Winnie’s journey completely pulled me in. Watching her find strength again in Logan Harbor—and the chemistry with Trevor? Swoon-worthy. The way their relationship developed felt so real and earned. Highly recommend this to anyone who loves romance with emotional depth and a bit of suspense.
That ending gave me chills. The emotional payoff was so satisfying, and I loved how Trevor never tried to ‘fix’ Winnie, just stood by her. The suspense subplot really kicked in toward the end, which made the love story feel even more intense. If you want a romance that respects trauma and still gives you butterflies, read this.
Halfway through and I’m hooked. The tension between Winnie and Trevor is crackling, and the way the author teases out their backstories is so well done. It’s not just a romance—it’s about healing and trust. Definitely worth the read if you’re into slow-burns with real stakes.
The cover caught my eye—there’s this quiet strength to it, and after reading the description, I’m all in. A coastal town, a second-chance romance, and family secrets? It’s checking all my boxes. Adding it to my TBR immediately.
Winnie is such a layered character—I love that she’s not magically ‘better’ just because she’s in a new town. Her growth feels earned. And Trevor... the man is loyal to a fault, in the best way. So far, this is shaping up to be one of the best small-town romances I’ve read this year.
