Find out why this author is famously quoted daily worldwide.

Shortly after publishing his first book, "Mentor Me," quotes from Ken Poirot gained popularity.

"Mentor Me" quickly became a bestseller in multiple niches on Amazon; now Ken Poirot is famously quoted daily all over the world.

Ken Poirot grew up on Long Island, New York in the quaint village of Northport. After graduating from Cornell University with a B.S. in Microbiology, he moved to Houston, Texas to pursue his Ph.D. studies in Cancer Research at MD Anderson Cancer Center through UT Health Science Center. Upon receiving a US Patent for his research, "Lipid Complexed Topoisomerase I Inhibitors," he left graduate school for a career in financial services.

His career in financial services spanned working for some of the top companies in the industry; some better known New York Stock Exchange-listed companies like American Express, Charles Schwab, Merrill Lynch (now part of Bank of America), JP Morgan Chase, as well as some smaller New York Stock Exchange-listed companies like Cullen/Frost Bankers (NYSE: CFR) and Guaranty Bank (now part of BBVA, NYSE: BBVA).

He quickly realized his time working as both a financial advisor and sales manager with some of these top firms over almost two decades, exposed him to much high-level training which could be applied to both personal lives as well as any professional career.

He also realized many others would benefit from this information, so Ken Poirot decided to compile the best of this training in order to make it accessible and applicable for anyone who had an interest. He combined all of this with trial and error uses/enhancements (real-world applications), personal stories, real-world experiences, and observations, creating the book, "Mentor Me: GA=T+E—A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement".

"Mentor Me" has been praised for its uniqueness; it is different than other books in the same genre garnering such descriptions as "succinct", "practical", "easy-to-read", and "easy-to-implement".

Additionally, others have expressed that everyone who reads "Mentor Me" finds something inside to have a lasting, positive impact on their lives.

Find out why "Mentor Me" became a bestseller and why quotes from Ken Poirot are posted every single day in social media around the world...

For anyone who follows my reviews, my obsession with self-help books is not really a secret, but I'll share it again here: I have this thing about personal growth and read a lot of self help books. Now, I know what you're thinking - so many of them are all the same. That's true, but there are a lot of them that are different, or at the very least share things in a different way.

I think this book falls under the latter. I found this book to be very motivational - not only does it tell you what you can do to transform your life and the steps you need to take, but it gives you activities to do, encourages you to do them, and each activity empowers you. I actually felt like Ken was standing there, tapping his foot with his arms crossed over his chest, waiting for me to do what he told me to do. And I'm thankful for that. Sometimes you need a gentle push, other times you need a shove ... and he's there when both are needed.

I read the book through in it's entirety, highlighting some interesting things along the way, then came back and did half of the activities so far and I have to say - I feel better for it. This is a self help book that I suggest others read.

"I have found we can learn something from just about anyone, if we approach others with an open mind, take the time to get to know them, seek out, and listen for what they can teach us."

Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. Please remember that this review is my opinion based on my personal impressions of the book.

“Mentor Me GA = T+E A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement” by Ken Poirot is a good book to motivate you toward your GA or Greatest Achievement. To do so, it is going to take T, Time, plus E, Energy. The book is a motivational one, and if you have read a lot in this genre, you will be familiar with many of the concepts. The book isn't so much “new” as it is a different approach. While I was not sold on Poirot's “formulas” I liked the concepts he writes about and the motivating message this book contains.

One of the reasons I enjoyed the book is because I believe Zig Ziglar was right when he said motivation wears off like bathing, and that's why he recommended both daily. This was a simple read, but made you think about some very important concepts toward living a successful life.

Part one has you figure out what is important. Part two helps you make a plan and manage time. Three focuses on personality styles. Part four deals with communication. Five focuses on learning. Six is about coping with life. The seventh part is on dealing with conflict. The final portion is on putting everything together with real world experiences.

All of these elements are important to leading a successful like, and Poirot provides some gems and useful information in this short book. However, because it is short, and covers these concepts in chapters, none of the topics are explored in depth. And that is okay for a quick motivational read that gets you thinking about the importance of these concepts to your own life. It might inspire readers to learn more about some of these areas. If you are looking for a dose of motivation and some good information and tips on the topics mentioned above, this is a good book to work into your success oriented reading.

Mentor Me GA+T+E is a great book that will give the reader direction to help them reach their greatest life's goal. The author, Ken Poirot did a fabulous job writing this easy-to-follow book to help people figure out, not only what they want in life, but how to get there. This book shares a very simple formula that makes so much sense. You start by figuring out what you want to be your greatest life achievement, and then you work backwards using your time and energy to meet your goal.

Two of the issues that are discussed in this book that I found particularly helpful was the chapter on personality styles and learning styles. There is a Personality Styles Quiz that the reader can take to show them what is their personality style, the strengths and weaknesses of their personality, and how they relate to other personalities. It also discusses different learning styles, so if you are in a business where you want to teach others, this helps you learn how to incorporate the different styles to make it easier for your audience. It concludes by explaining how you can use the lessons in this book in the real world.

One aspect that I really liked about Mentor ME, was it wasn't solely about elevating the reader, but also shared the importance of encouraging others. This book is perfect for anyone who wants to live their life to the fullest and encourage others to do the same!

I was given a free book in exchange for an honest review.

Mentor Me: is my new favorite book! Ken Poirot has not only written an amazing book, but he's provided a brilliant yet so simple guideline for anyone to follow! As I read through each chapter, I kept thinking, "Of course, that only makes sense!" I loved how the book was put together, with places to write in your own dreams, desires and needs. Perfectly reaffirming how you can reach your own goals. It's all right here in this book. Thank you so much for writing a book that breaks its all down into simple terms and easy to follow common sense steps to achieve your dreams!

The preface and the first two chapters were inspiring and mind-elevating - mentoring oneself and others for the common good is definitely a message that resonates in me. I found value in the tools for introspection: visualizing a desired life or purpose, forming the goals, thinking about role models. A reminder to add some space for fluctuation by adopting the high-impact and low-impact days -system was a welcome addition to more general time management tips provided elsewhere.

On the other hand I think the sections about personality styles and communication were somewhat a disappointment for a to-be-psychologist. Those might be good generalizations and rules of thumb for some situations (maybe in the financial world where the examples come from) but if one really wants to learn about more effective communication or leadership, I'd refer to other literature.

Still, no doubt, it was worth reading and helped me to reflect on my goals way beyond the surface/achievement level.

I received this book as part of the Goodreads’ First Reads Program for a fair review.

Overview: Here we have Mr. Poirot’s interactive book designed to help you gain your greatest achievement, or dream if you prefer.

Likes: Mr. Poirot gives us examples, encourages us to write out our goals--both long term and short--, as well as encourages us to find the more positive people in our lives. There is a section on personality types, and another on time management. All of this should help you aim and shoot for your dreams.

Dislikes: Since Mr. Poirot was in the banking system, many of his examples revolve around the financial sector. This makes the examples hard to follow, if you have little knowledge of that circle.

Conclusion: The book is very useful. You do have to do the work on your dreams, though.

This is a Goodreads First Reads winner book.

I enjoyed this book. It really gave me insight on how to go about achieving a better me. It helps you to formulate a plan to help better yourself. I have already followed a couple of the plans, in this book, and I am already feeling better about myself. I feel that I have the power to go out and attain the success that I failed in my previous attempts that I have made. This book gave me a lot to think about and I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to better themselves.

I don't usually go in for self help books. I've read a few and was left disappointed. That wasn't the case with this book. Ken Poirot gives you the motivation you need to get up and get done what needs be done. He makes you feel you may just be worth something after, all. This book will help you reach your goals. It's already helping me reach mine! I have to give this one 5 stars*****

I won a copy of this book on Goodreads. I am very fortunate to have read Mentor Me: GA=T+E-A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement. This book should be required reading for those who work in management. Truly brilliant! In addition, this book is beneficial to those who are lacking mentors in the workplace and provides a practical approach to achieving your goals.

I tend to blow hot and cold on these sort of books as there are so many of them out there but I actually thought this one had some real practical value. There was lots I am willing to try and the ideas were presented in a way that made them easy to understand.

GoodReads First Read

I think this book has potential. I think an editor would help a lot with the flow of the book and removal of some paragraphs that seem to repeat each other and potentially another leader in a different industry reviewing and editing/adding commentary would open the audience for the book.

I feel this book would ultimately benefit financial advisers and sales people over the general masses since the author relies so heavily on his personal experience to relate anecdotes and dives into technical details and jargon around these job functions.

A collection of names from the book Mentor Me by Ken Poirot. A decent collection, available on Wikimedia commons. Not a real book to read, but interesting to flip through.

I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

Mentor Me: GA=T+E—A Formula to Fulfill Your Greatest Achievement by Ken Poirot is (based on its back cover) about "real-world strategies, techniques, and information that produce proven results" related to happiness, success, motivation, influence, and inspiration. And there are elements of this in the book, loosely organized in this quasi-mathematical equation GA = T+E (Greatest Achievement = Time + Energy). There are definitely the self-help standards of overly excited language and encouragement, worksheets for you to reflect on topics, and lots of personal stories. And that's all fine, I'm just not sure any of it is all that helpful or unique. Poirot himself notes where he borrows some of the ideas from other self-help authors and there are definitely no new breakthroughs in the book.

Rather, the book is actually better read as a guide for managers on how to handle situations where there is unknown information, stressful issues to deal with, or individuals to motivate. Poirot writes most authoritatively in these sections and it is where his personal experiences really help to illustrate the concepts he is discussing. His story about dealing with an angry, ex-military bank customer is a great training scenario for managers on how to diffuse and control an angry person. So I think the book is good in this way - as a helpful guide for managers - and less useful as a self-help, mentoring book.
