In November 2004, 1st Lieutenant Palmer Jones and the Marines of 1st Battalion, 8th Marines led the assault on Fallujah, Iraq. Operation Al Fajr (Operation Phantom Fury) was the largest urban combat operation in the U.S. Marine Corps since Hue, Vietnam in 1968. As the battalion liaison officer, 1st Lieutenant Jones led both the Iraqi Special Forces and the Iraqi Intervention Force during the battle for Fallujah.
Fugitives from Chance's Strange Arithmetic was previously published as Between a Mosque and a Hard Place. This edition contains updates and new materials from the author. The book is only available for a limited time until Veteran's Day. All proceeds from the sale of the book are donated to the Journeymen- a veteran's support and outreach organization.
