**Book Review: *Broken Time: Tales of a Bounty Hunter Book 3* by Athena Stamelou**
In *Broken Time*, the thrilling final book of Athena Stamelou's *Tales of a Bounty Hunter* series, readers are thrust into a haunting new universe where dark magic reigns and hope is all but lost. After the Witches shatter the Key, time itself breaks, rewriting reality and leaving a universe ruled by demons. Memories have faded, and people are forced into a life of servitude, revering the very creatures that enslave them. Noemi, now a seasoned bounty hunter with little more than instincts to rely on, faces her toughest mission yet when a mysterious client appears—a former angel claiming the world isn’t what it was meant to be.
Stamelou masterfully combines sci-fi elements with dark fantasy, creating a world rich with danger, moral complexity, and high-stakes battles. Noemi's struggle is both fierce and relatable, as she pieces together her fractured past while fighting to reclaim a future that seems all but impossible. The book captures the essence of a universe in chaos, with suspenseful action scenes and emotional depth that will keep readers on edge until the very last page.
*Broken Time* is a captivating conclusion to the series, bringing epic confrontations between good and evil as it explores themes of memory, identity, and resilience. For fans of dark fantasy and sci-fi, this final installment is a satisfying and action-packed read, blending mystery with cosmic battles and the strength of the human spirit. An unforgettable finale for a series that has captured the hearts and imaginations of its readers.
As you can imagine in this book all hell breaks loose in the best way possible and quite literally. Similar to it's predecessors, this book doesn't lack action and creativity. The fight scenes along with the emotional ones create a combination that will once again leave you at the edge of your seat, unable to put the book down. It ties up the loose ends perfectly and manages to once again capture your heart as you experience the climax of the series. This book is my favourite out of all and everything from the beginning to the end is well done, it shows once more the great care and time the author put into the story, world building and characters and the bittersweet end ties it all up together and leaves you wondering 'what's next?'. If you enjoyed the other books this will definitely give you a satisfying conclusion while of course it takes you for a wild ride as you reach it. If you, like me, are tired of superficial stories that feel dull, unsatisfying and can't keep your attention then look no further cause this book is for you! There's not a single page that isn't well done so I guarantee you will love it. When the author loves their work and puts care into it then it shows and here you can see it from the first page to the last.
This book in-fact the whole series has been full of originality and imagination. In love with this book and series. Great work! Highly recommend. Sci fi fantasy done right.
This is the third book in the Tales of a Bounty Hunter series and a fantastic conclusion to Noemi's story. Throughout this series there is a core group of characters. Noemi is the bounty hunter, Novah the last timelord, Ramiel the Gypsy, Astrid is the Princess of Dinneliea, Amora is the Princess of Larth and their worlds have been at war since before they were born, last is Raven a witch from Earth. Each of these characters are from vastly different worlds and each has a role to play in overcoming the destruction of all worlds. Good vs evil, angels vs demons; which will be victorious in the end? Guess you'll have to read this series to find out. Fast-paced, sometimes amusing, but always utterly fascinating interactions between this group of characters kept me riveted to the pages of this book. There are many characters that play important, if not pivotal roles in the story and they are all fascinating and engaging with so very well portrayed personalities they seem real. You will find plenty of exciting action as well as magic, betrayal, vampires and shifters and with so many unexpected and surprising twists in the plot it will make it impossible to put this book down. I highly recommend this book to others, but this is not a stand-alone book and reading the first two books in this series is a must.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC of this book.
In the gripping conclusion to Tales of a Bounty Hunter, Stamelou delivers a bold exploration of time, morality, and identity. With time shattered and memories erased, the Witches have forged a reality where demons are gods and rebellion is a death sentence. Noemi, a hardened bounty hunter barely scraping by, finds her world turned upside down when a mysterious client—claiming to be a fallen angel—reveals that everything she knows is a lie.
Stamelou crafts a cinematic narrative, immersing readers in the gladiatorial chaos of Thelleirilia and the eerie desolation of Eurilia. Noemi shines as a protagonist, her hardened exterior concealing a fierce sense of justice. Stamelou explores her internal conflicts with depth, particularly her moral dilemmas and her interactions with Uriel, whose celestial fall and quiet vulnerability add layers of tragedy and hope. The Witches, led by the ruthless Minerva, exude a chilling menace.
Stamelou’s prose is sharp and evocative. The battles are brutal and visceral, while the quieter moments delve into themes of rebellion, free will, and the cyclical nature of existence. Fans of the series will revel in this finale’s depth and tension, while newcomers will be drawn to its gripping characters and relentless pacing.
The final book in a wonderful series. Now time is broken and the witches rule with an iron fist. She will learn things should not be like this when he arrives to tell her. Now she needs to find a way to right it all with his help. A brilliant ending I received an advance copy from hidden gems and I loved where I was taken
