The moment she walks into my classroom, I feel it. A visceral reaction that threatens to undo years of carefully constructed control. Mia Thompson. Barely eighteen, fresh-faced, and utterly oblivious to the effect she has on me.
I watch her from behind my desk, my jaw clenched so tight it aches. She takes her seat, flipping her hair over her shoulder, and I catch a whiff of her scent. It's intoxicating, maddening. I want to bury my face in her neck and breathe her in.
But I can't. I won't.
Instead, I stand, towering over the class. My eyes lock onto hers, and I see a flicker of fear. Good. She should be afraid.
"Ms. Thompson," I say, my voice low and controlled. "Perhaps you'd like to explain to the class why you think a 91% is something to brag about?"
Her cheeks flush, a delicious shade of pink that makes my blood run hot. She opens her mouth to respond, but I cut her off.
"This isn't high school anymore," I growl. "Mediocrity won't cut it here."
I see the hurt in her eyes, quickly replaced by defiance. She stands, chin raised, meeting my gaze head-on. "I worked hard for that grade, Professor Devlin," she says, her voice steady despite the slight tremor in her hands.
I move closer, invading her personal space. She doesn't back down, and I feel a surge of... pride? No. I can't allow myself to feel anything for her.
"Hard work isn't enough," I say, my voice barely above a whisper. "You need to be exceptional. And you, Ms. Thompson, are far from exceptional."
The lie tastes bitter on my tongue. Because the truth is, she's the most exceptional thing I've ever seen. And it's taking every ounce of my willpower not to show her just how exceptional I find her.
As she sits back down, I turn away, my fists clenched at my sides. This girl will be my undoing, I'm sure of it. But I can't stay away. Not now. Not ever. Because she’s about to be mine. Forever.
* A Professor Student Bully Romance is a steamy short, insta-everything, OTT, standalone romance with a HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.
The story was well written but there wasn't a lot of depth to it. The characters aren't that well developed and other than sex there's not any interaction between them. He bullies her in class and that's it. Then later in the book when his son is 10 he bullies him about his grades.
The blurb almost made me not read this book. Extreme bullying isn’t my thing. Luckily I took a chance, the book was great and the bullying wasn’t as extreme as I was afraid it would be.
Enjoyed the back and forth power struggle between Mia and Professor Damian.
